The entire crowd of attendees erupted into loud cheers and laughter as she blew out the candles on her sixteenth birthday cake. Her smile was wide as her blonde hair flashed in the light of the cameras. Her mother's slender arms wove around her shoulders as she murmured French words of love and congratulations into the top of her head, kissing her. Her red haired father stood next to her, his words of love and encouragement deep and proud.
The young woman looked around at all her family; close, extended and honorary. She had such a large family, red heads almost dominating the backyard of her grandparents' house. Still, there were other colours around. Black, brown and blonde alike. And blue. The newly sixteen year old girl smiled almost shyly as she caught his amber eyes. They had known each other her whole life so it was ridiculous that she would act so nervous around him. In fact, she'd felt this same way about him her whole life, too.
Maybe it was her birthday nerves.
Her blue-haired friend grinned at her so widely as the smoke from the candles blew past her face, her shining blue eyes as bright as his. He was so happy to see her celebrate her birthday, he was so happy to be here at her party, he was so happy to be part of her family and she would only ever try to make him happy her whole life. As happy as her uncles were as they watched her begin to cut the bright blue-frosting cake to serve.
She'd been laughing and smiling with her family and friends, talking and playing and having a good time until she blew out the candles on her cake, taking a moment to reflect on her life so far and consider her future. She made plans to spend plenty of time by his side, her blue-haired friend. She couldn't wait for her next year at Hogwarts. Things were going to be good this year, she could tell.
Little did any of her family know, as they cried to hear her birthday wish, just who she had wished for on her sixteenth.
Congratulations on the last pairing! It was indeed Ms Parvati Patil and Mr Blaise Zabini. A great big raspberry is blown to 03hermione1992, TheFantabulousPotterHead, islanzadi heap and Guest in well done, and another thank you to 5sunday5 for the review! I hope you enjoyed this one here, too. And I've noticed a trend starting. These last couple aren't too big on the angst, are they? Tell me, do you prefer that or would you like me to get back to how it used to be, and up the angst a bit more? I'm curious, do tell :)
This one is also happily dedicated to TheFantabulousPotterHead who requested this one along with about four other pairings. I have no excuse for not being able to think of any pairs! Also, I know the female of this pair was born on the 2 May and would have been at Hogwarts at this time, but perhaps in my mini AU world, she was born during the summer break. Okay? I think it could fit. Plus ... I'd already written this before I went to check up on my facts ... again. Haha.
Until the next time, dearest of all readers in the entirety of the world!
Hermitt
