Sincere apologies from this really lazy writer who sort of lost interest in KHR (kinda) after catching up with new anime like Haikyuu! and Free! Eternal Summer. (Whoops) But the real reason of the late update (Who am I kidding. Really really late update) was due to A levels ugh which I spent nearly 4months on it. Oh wells its over now. Don't worry I'll be completing this story though:) Thank you for all your support despite everything. I am really really touched that people still favourite and follow although I haven't update for quite a while! Thank you so much everyone:) Enjoy this chapter! It's a little short but the next one will come really soon. I'm thinking of shorter but more frequent chapters as compared to long ones. What do you think?:)

P.s. The pearl was inspired by my experience in Hawaii(for real) except that I was with my friend and not boyfriend *sobs*

Disclaimer: I do not own KHR except for my OC, Xylona Veronica Imperiale. Credits goes to Akira Amano, without her creation of such a fabulous manga, the approx. 24K of Fanfics would not have existed. :)

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Love

"Voi! Are you done shopping?" grunted Squalo as I threw another dress onto the huge heap of clothes he was holding.

"Oh Squ-chan how can we be done? We merely started!" pouted Lussuria as he held out two flower patterned shirts for me to choose for Xanxus. The first is a pale blue one with navy prints, the other was a sunset gradient with black prints.

"Merely started my foot, it has be 2 hours already you crazy idiots," groaned Squalo as I grabbed the tangerine coloured shirt for Xanxus and threw it on to the pile.

"Ushishishi! Peasants do the carrying, royalties do the shopping," snickered Bel as he dragged me another corner of the shop to choose new tees for him. The volcano Squalo was trying to control for the past two hours exploded as he tossed the pile of clothes to the terrified staffs and ordered them to put it on the counter. Levi was equally tempted to do the same, but after remembering the fact that he was carrying the Boss' shopping he decided to remain a 'peasant' and carry the shoppings.

"You should add some red to your wardrobe," I considered carefully as I took away the royal purple tee he was holding and replaced it with a chili red with maroon coloured stripes tee. Suddenly spotting a wine tee with bolder black stripes, I took back the chili red one.

"Ushishi, nope I want both since you choose both, anyways, I have a mission to drain off all of Mammon's cash," smirked Bel as repositioned his crown and dragged me off to another section.

"Wait I need Xylie to help me choose my shirt!" whined Lussuria as he chased after us.

"Ushishishi hell no. My princess is coming with the prince," insisted Bel feeling rather superior.

"Ah you guys don't have to fight, I help you both choose. Squalo come here and help me hold these," I called to the rather bored shark who was sitting on the chair.

"VOIII! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM! I AM NOT YOUR- ok coming" squeaked Squalo as a shadow suddenly loomed behind me. Of course, Xanxus has arrived.

"You. come here." Without waiting for my reply he grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the shop. Seriously. "Voiiii! You guys don't stand a chance against that trash," snorted Squalo as he laughed at the two rather upset and disappointed guardians. Xanxus scowled upon hearing the word 'trash' but decided to let the poor shark off for once. Of course the shark didn't escape the brutal punishment from the revengeful two guardians.

"Xanxus, where are we going?" I complained as the grip on my wrist start to hurt. He abruptly stopped in front of a tiny cart shop in a quiet corner. It was a cart selling jewellery. I looked rather confused as of why we are here but the lady tending to the car instantly came to attend to us.

"Are you here to buy pearl jewellery?"

"Yea," grunted Xanxus, taking me by shock as I look up at him in delightful surprise. The lady must have found it really adorable because she was instantly sighing romantically.

"That's so sweet, here," she ushered me to a small basket, "pick a slip of paper!"

I smiled to her before picking a slip. It wrote "Two tries for the price of one".

"Oh that's really lucky off you! You get to pick two oysters, you will only need to pay the basic price of an oyster which is 8bucks, I'll make them into a necklace, ring or earring of your choice. The price of the designs are over here," she indicated, pointing to a glass display with different chains and pendant designs to put the pearl on. "Here choose two and I'll open them." She smiled as I slowly plunged my hand into the water and picked up a shell.

Taking the oyster from me, she pried it open, revealing a soft rose pink pearl that reflected a soft glow from the light that bounces of it.

"A pink pearl! How beautiful, it's a symbolism of love you know, which means you will have a wonderful marriage and life afterwards, of course you already do I think." She giggled as she looked between Xanxus and I. I laughed nervously, nodding as a blush crept up my cheeks. I sneaked a quick peek at Xanxus only to see him looking indifferently into the distance. For a moment I felt rather disappointed, but the disappointment faded when she asked me to pick another oyster. This time I graded a small one at a corner, hoping it was sapphire blue that symbolises eternity. That would be a perfect match to love. The moment of truth came as she pried open the second. She let out as gasp as she revealed the pearl embedded in the thick white flesh.

"Another pink pearl! Your love must be really strong- wait! Its a twin pearl!" she exclaimed as she pulled away the white flesh revealing two round orbs of pink pearl. "Twin pearls are so rare, you are so lucky! Tales said that those who find a twin pearl will have twins in the future. And now you have a set of pink pearls! You can be the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite!" she exclaimed as she polished the pearls with a towel and some salt.

For the entire time, I was calm on the outside merely stunned, but inside I could barely contain my excitement. Twin pearls? All pink? Love? I'm the luckiest girl ever! I told myself as I bent over to examine the three polished pearls. They were expensive pearl given their ouster quality and roundness.

"So what would you like them as?" The lady asked as she indicated to the single pearl and slightly smaller twin pearl. By that time I could barely contain my brimming happiness. Pulling Xanxus over, I pointed to the single pearl, "Should I make them into a necklace and a pair of earrings?" He stood there blankly before slowly nodding. If I could explode, I would already have. "A necklace and a pair of earrings it is, I think I would like to have… this design," I told the lady, pointing to a matching pink hibiscus design for both necklace and earrings.

"Sure, give me 5minutes I will do it for you."

Within 5minutes, I have a matching set of jewellery pack in a small velvet bag. "Have a wonderful honeymoon!" The lady called out as we turned to leave. I turned around half embarrassed and gave her a wave. If she had known we are only dating. Meekly, I snuck my arm around Xanxus arms. He looked down at me with narrowed eyes for a moment before looking back up. In translation, he actually liked it.

"Thank you for that beautiful gift," I giggled as we took a longer path down the beach. The sun has begun to set, half of it immersed in the sea already. The sea instantly turned into a vast body of vermillion sparkling liquid, glistening as the waves repeatedly clash and bump into one another. The soft breeze tangled in my curls as I pulled my hair out of my face and behind her ears, the sun dying my usual brown locks gold. Looking up at Xanxus I found him half smiling, his scowl he wore from before gone. He seemed almost surreal bathing in the setting sun rather contented. Smiling to myself I carefully dropped my had such that I can entangle my fingers with his. He didn't give any shock or abrupt reaction but lightly grip onto my hand. Holding hands, we walked down Waikiki beach all the way back to the penthouse, a beautiful day in Hawaii well spent.
