O'ver his Midnight Winter's Dream.
Credence looked at him from across the broken building, his chest rising and falling rapidly. As the wall between them continued to crumble, a single thought passed over him, angering the beast within. No memory of such intense hatred could hold a candle to what he felt now; all his life, he knew he was different, but to have his only friend cast him aside as if nothing more than a piece of trash had been enough for him to know…
...he'd been lied to. Credence was no different than the scum that walked in the crowds of his normal world.
"Credence, I owe you an apology." Mr. Graves told him.
Credence continued to look at the ground, his body shaking as he murmured," I trusted you." Through it all, Mr. Graves advanced toward him, his voice as soothing as it had been when he first saved him from his mother.
His mother was dead now, and Mr. Graves betrayed him.
Credence wasn't going to allow anyone to hurt him again, even if that meant channeling his inner monster and allowing it to devour him.
No one was going to hurt him again, he vowed as the darkness set in.
