AN: Hey guys! Okay, two things.
First of all, I am so sorry I didn't update this weekend like I promised, the document I was writing this on was being glitchy. However, this chapter and the previous one were on the longer side, so I hope that's okay. And no, this is NOT the last chapter. I have a two part epilogue coming up, stay tuned!
Second of all, oh my gods, guys. 50 reviews. FIVE ZERO. I know that's not that much, especially to those of you who have way more, but I never imagined that my first story would be this successful. Thank you so much to all of you who did review and if you didn't, you're still awesome, just think about it sometime soon. ;)
Disclaimer: I do not own anything.
Frank's POV:
I crawled around nervously. The Land of the Demons, I should say, was full of demons. There were flaming crevices everywhere, so to say the least, I was freaking out.
I was a giant komodo dragon with the head of a lion. I didn't even know I could turn into something like that, but luckily, I could. It was extremely odd, every so often, I would look around me and freak out before remembering that those creatures were my friends. By the looks of it, their godly parents had some say in what they looked like. Carter, Jason, Zia, Percy, and Annabeth got a lot of murderous looks from the demons that actually could give looks. Luckily, Piper, who looked like a giant hairbow with fangs and frog legs, (The flaming hammer that was Leo murmured something that was probably a comment on how Aphrodite she looked. She shoved him, and then had to run over and ask Percy to extinguish her flaming arm) charmspeaked the demons into letting them go.
We walked/crawled/slithered though the Land of the Demons, and almost instantly spotted that Face of Horror guy. It was hard to miss the giant throne formed out of writhing serpents, where the ugliest thing in the world that sat on it. It had the legs of a bird, and the most grotesque face I had ever seen. For the sake for those of you who are trying to eat, I will not describe it for you. But, the name Face of Horror definitely made sense.
"It's him!" The diamond covered swiss army knife that was Hazel gasped. "The demon from my dream!"
Walt, who was a bright green door knob headed octopus started molding some clay with his eight tentacles. Face of Horror smiled cruelly at us, which did not help his appearance, as if he expected us to be here.
We met his eyes, and walked on fiercely. He was clearly waiting for us to come closer. We did, drawing our weapons. I prepared to morph into an animal, like another dragon. Walt's clay began to look like a smaller, clay version of Face of Horror. Face of Horror caught sight of it, and his eyes widened.
"Attack!" He yelled.
Every single demon in the Land of the Demons charged at us. Face of Horror could see through the glamours, so everyone lost them. I changed back to human. I'm not going to try to describe all of the demons that charged at us, as there were millions. Members of our group cursed in all sorts of languages.
I turned into a dragon, and wiped out a decent amount. Zia caused the mini volcanoes to erupt and incinerate some of the demons. I normally would've been scared, but I could fly, and was fire immune as a dragon. I wondered if I could live the rest of my life as one. Walt fought, and turned some demons to dust, also raising skeletons from the dead, kind of Nico di Angelo could do. Carter summoned a giant hawk warrior and most of us demigods charged. Hazel summoned most of the weapons from the demons, but the ones with magnet heads took them back. Sadie stood in the middle of all of the chaos, chanting and holding Walt's figurine. I wasn't quite sure what she was doing, but we got the message: Protect her!
We managed to keep the demons at bay, however, more appeared. I wondered if this was how demons and monsters felt in the mortal world. I flew around and blasted a bunch of demons with flames. I roared with contempt. I was unstoppable, huge, fire resistant, deadly. I loved the power, loved the battle. Or maybe Mars was just messing up my mind.
Overhead, I could see everything. All the demons, the battle going on beneath me, everything. My friends were killing the enemy, however, they kept advancing. If I could keep them from advancing… I knew what to do. I flew over to where all of the reinforcements were coming from. I roared out a wall of fire, delaying the attacks, forcing the demons to find some other way around. The fire immune ones came through, but most of them were taken care of.
We all fought hard, and we managed to wipe out about a hundred demons per minute, which is pretty good, even though most got incinerated with fire blasts. I didn't know how much longer I could stay a dragon, I could feel my strength weakening, my fireballs getting weaker.
"Sadie! Are you done yet?" Percy apparently shared my thoughts, as he was in a full hurricane, a trick he tended to use a lot more in battles than usual.
Sadie held up a finger, as if to say "Just a few more minutes!"
Geez, how long did it take to cast a exce-exa- whatever! I'll just say spell.
We kept the demons away for about ten more minutes, before Sadie shouted. "I execrate you to beyond the grave! You are no more!" (AN: Is that the last line? My friend is borrowing my books which she'd better return soon)
Face of Horror screamed a scream almost as horrible as his face, and he disappeared from existence.
I fell back to the ground as a human. The demons retreated, and the throne of serpents vanished.
"That… was…" I panted, but I didn't need to finish. We were all exhausted.
We found our way out, and were pretty much left alone by the demons, I guess we earned their respect- let me rephrase that- their pure hatred and fear. Once we got to the beach, we were greeted by a giant group of gods. All twelve Olympian gods stood, although their faces flickered between roman and greek. Honestly, I didn't really care. Next to them, were a bunch of gods that I assumed were Egyptian. Both Zeus, and another god with a falcon on his shoulder stepped forward. They glared at each other for a second, clearly used to being the leaders, but they compromised.
"Congratulations!" They both looked at us proudly.
Jason blinked. "Dad?"
The falcon god and a goddess with rainbow wings pulled aside Carter and Sadie after they, along with Zia and Walt, were swarmed with pats on the backs and hugs.
The greek/roman gods were a little bit less friendly. They did say their congratulations on how we had saved their children, but there were no hugs, and only one pat on the back from Poseidon to Percy. They didn't seem at all fazed by the fact that there were egyptian gods and goddesses, but they probably already knew.
We were each pulled aside by our parents. Mars took me over to the lake of fire. I stayed away, cautiously even though I still had my fireproof pouch.
"Congratulations, Frank Zhang. You did great, although I do wish you had done some more combat against others, but oh well. You killed a lot of them, that I like. Keep that in mind for next time. Your mother would be proud of you."
"Thanks." I said, not quite sure what else to say. I smiled though, at the mention of my mother.
"Head-butt?" He asked, as if he had just asked for a hug. Probably to him, it was.
"I'm fine. Thanks, though." I shook his hand, surprised by how strong his handshake was. Well, what did I suspect? He was the war god.
"Stay safe." We walked back, and joined the rest of our company. Two portals were waiting for us. One back to Camp Half Blood, the other back to the magicians' home.
"So this is it." Carter stood in between the two portals.
"Yeah, guess it is. It was nice fighting with you guys." Percy lead us over.
"You too. If you ever need help again, you know how to contact us." Sadie held up her phone.
We all exchanged handshakes, saying our goodbyes. Finally, one by one, we walked through the portal to finally head home.
