RPOV

The next morning T-Dog, Glenn, Maggie, Alexa, Rick, and Daryl geared up to go inside the courtyard. Everyone else would stay outside the fence and try to get the walkers attention and kill them through the fence. They stayed in a formation of a circle, so a walker couldn't sneak up on them from behind.

They soon got too far for us to see. But they came back into view and looked around. The six of them pushed into the prison and we watched the door close behind them.

They came back out and we all grabbed our things and followed them into the cell block.

"What do you think?" Rick asked as we walked in.

"Home sweet home." Glenn replied.

"For the time being."

"It's secure?" Lori asked.

"This cell block is." Rick answered.

"What about the rest of the prison?" Hershel questioned.

"In the morning, we'll find the cafeteria and infirmary." Rick said.

"We sleep in the cells?" Beth asked.

"At least they have mattresses." I told her.

"I found keys on some guards. Daryl has a set, too."

"I ain't sleepin' in no cage." Daryl said from the top level, "I'll take the perch."

We all separated to go find cells. Carl followed me to the top level and I walked into the first cell I saw that didn't have blood and guts inside,

"Pretty gross." I commented.

"Yeah, remember the storage units?"

I sat down on the bottom mattress and I bounced on it a few times, "It's actually comfortable. Check it out."

Carl walked over and climbed onto the top mattress, "Yeah, you're right."

"You find your cell yet?" Alexa asked from the doorway.

"Oh, uh, yeah, I was just making sure Riley was safe." Carl answered, jumping down from the mattress and he walked out of the cell, "See you tomorrow."

"Bye."

"Carl and Riley sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Charlie sang as she got onto the top mattress.

"Shut up." I mumbled, grabbing my bag and unpacking.

"Listen, Riley, you and Carl are both teenagers growing up in a walker infested world-"

"Whoa, whoa, hold up. Are we having the bird and the bees talk?" I asked. "I'm thirteen!"

"I know, but you and Carl went through puberty this winter and-"

"I don't want to hear it!" I exclaimed, taking my pillow and covering my ears.

APOV

The next morning we went to the armory and piled up on bullets and gear and other things before heading out.

"Not bad."

"Flashbangs, CS Triple-Chasers. Not sure how they work on walkers, but we'll take 'em." Rick said.

Daryl picked up a helmet and goo came off of it, "I ain't wearin' this shit."

"We could boil 'em." T-Dog offered, lifting a glove up.

"Ain't enough firewood in the forest. No." Daryl replied.

"We made it this far without them, right?" I said.

"Hershel." We all looked over and saw Carol.

"Everything all right?" Rick asked.

"Yeah. Nothing to worry about." Carol answered before she and Hershel walked away.

Once he came back, we started putting some gear on. As Daryl helped me put on the bullet proof vest, I saw Riley and Carl trying on the helmets that are too big for their heads.

"You won't be needing that." Rick said as he took the helmet away, "I need you to stay put."

"You too, Riley." Daryl said.

"You're kidding." Carl and Riley said at the same time.

"We don't know what's in there." Rick told the two kids, "Something goes wrong, you two could be the last ones standing. I need the both of you to handle things here."

Carl nodded, "Sure."

Rick handed him the keys, "Great. Let's go."

Carl locked the door behind us, and we walked through the dark corridors of the prison. We came across many dead bodies and rats. Behind us, Glenn spray painted the wall so we could find our way back. After a few turns, we came face to face with a bunch of walkers.

"Go back. Move! Go back!"

I ran behind Glenn and Maggie. We were cut off again by a bunch of walkers and followed the others down a different corridor, but the three of us were cut off, again, by more walkers. I opened the door right next to us, "Come on!"

Once we heard the walkers leave, we opened the door.

"Rick?"

"Dad?"

"Daryl?"

Then we heard someone scream.

"That sounded like Hershel." I said and we ran towards the direction of the scream.

"No!" Maggie wailed when we found Hershel with a bite in his leg.

"Walkers!" I exclaimed when they came around the corner.

We ran down a hallway and came to two doors that were locked by handcuffs. I used the hatchet I had and broke it open. We all rushed inside and Daryl, T-Dog, and I leaned against the doors, keeping the walkers out.

"Hold him down." Rick ordered and he looked at me,

"Alexa, hatchet, now!"

I tossed him my weapon and he grabbed it. Once I realized what he was going to do, I turned my head away. I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and I raised my gun. There were a bunch of people in prison uniforms.

"Holy shit."
