*sigh* Yeah, sorry for the late update, I did tell you guys that I was going on a weekly trip into the country. But I may or may not do another Chapter on the weekend. I'm hoping I have less than 5 Chapters of this story left because I can feel the ending drawing closer and closer by the Chapter. If it's still more than 5 Chapters...man, I make these stories too long... -_-
As far as I know, there isn't much left to happen in this story. Hopefully I can wrap it up in the next couple of weeks before school starts, and then I can focus on my other DP story. ^^ So, if you know how plots go, then you know we're near the big climax and then conclusion, in which I hope to make short but detailed.
Anyways, enjoy yet another Chapter of this seeming less never-ending story of Wrong Turns! ^^
DP (C) Butch Hartman
After a long and tiring look almost all around the outside rim of the ghost shield, they saw Danny battling a few small ghosts, the dark sky almost made it difficult to spot Danny, but thanks to Danny's glow when he was in ghost form, Jazz and Sam were able to spot him.
"There he is!" Jazz pointed out.
Sam smiled in relief that they finally found Danny. Then, Jazz landed the jet near where Danny was fighting a few small green ghosts. Danny heard the sound of jet engines behind him; he knew that sound very well to be the jet engines of the transformed ops centre. He turned to see Jazz and Sam in the jet preparing to exit. He was glad to see some helping hands, but then he grew concerned of Jazz and Sam's safety.
Jazz and Sam stepped out of the jet to see Danny looking at them with a smile but then an expression of concern.
"Guys, what are you doing here?" He asked, knowing what the answer was already.
"We're here to help." Sam replied with a smile as she held a ghost weapon in one hand.
"But...Jazz, you said-"
"I know. It was to boost your confidence, but I know that you need our help." Jazz explained smiling to her little brother.
Danny looked down and felt slightly insulted, but then smiled. He looked at Sam and knew that she was the real confidence booster for him. He wanted to embrace her at that very moment, but when he heard the sound of more ghosts approaching, he knew that embracing would have to wait.
"Well, thanks for the booster." He said looking at Sam but replying to Jazz. "I think we all need to boost our confidence here, because more ghosts incoming." He implied gesturing to the ghosts off in the distance.
Sam and Jazz nodded before Jazz went back into the jet to use the weapons attached to the jet to fight off the ghosts, meanwhile, Sam fought by Danny's side, though Danny was in the air, she was nearby fighting off the ghosts.
It wasn't long later that another strong earthquake rumbled underneath Sam's feet and all underneath Amity Park. Everyone shook in fear and worry of whether they would live to see another day.
Danny couldn't feel the shaking, but could see it from a distance, and he looked down at Sam to see her losing her balance, he knew that they were running out of time. In the jet, Jazz had quickly made an approximate countdown of how long until the two worlds would collapse on each other. She managed to get an approximate number by using complicated math and logic.
"We're running out of time, I need that ghost weapon that sent ghosts back to their realm." He said floating back down towards the ground.
By this time, the strong ground shaking had stopped. On the inside of the ghost shield, many people were worried of what was to come to them. They didn't want to, but they had to have faith in the Fenton's technology in order to survive.
Danny had just landed next to Sam; Jazz had seen this and had grown confused since she had been flying in the air helping him fight the ghosts from the air. So, she set the jet down and went to ask what was worrying Danny.
Jazz set the jet down and quickly hopped out to see Danny and Sam talking, she ran over to them faintly hearing what they were talking about until it became clearer.
"We need that ghost weapon." Danny implied.
"But, I'm not even sure if it's in the jet." Sam exclaimed.
Jazz then looked up briefly to see the sky turn darker and darker by the minute; she knew that there wasn't much longer. Her countdown which was estimated by her intelligence, read that there was less than an hour until the worlds collapsed on each other.
She knew that the worry was beyond extreme at this point, she knew that if the earthquakes became more constant then it would be sure enough that the world was coming to an end.
"Danny, what's wrong?" Jazz asked.
"Do you remember a while back that weapon that mum used on me and those other ghosts? It sent them back into the ghost zone." Danny explained, hoping to get through to Jazz.
"Oh." Jazz replied in realisation, but then she thought for a moment. "Hmm, I'm not sure. I'll go quickly check."
Jazz darted off back to the jet while Danny and Sam looked at the ghosts before looking at each other once more. The feelings and thoughts from the kiss robbed both their minds.
"Sam...I..."
Sam smiled, she knew that he wanted to explain about what happened earlier, but she knew that it would have to wait for another time, because the timing didn't seem right. So Sam placed a finger on his lips and hushed him.
"You can talk to me about it later." She said with a smile.
Danny smiled in return, and by that point, Jazz had returned with the weapon that Danny was talking about in hand. Danny was glad and relieved that they now had a better advantage at sending the ghosts back to their realm.
"Good, we have it. Now we have a much better chance at getting rid of these ghosts."
So, Danny, Sam and Jazz fought off several ghosts to help balance out the two dimensions. Meanwhile, Maddie had managed to pull apart the ghost portal at last.
"Phew, well, that took awhile but I think that should do the trick." She said as she wiped her forehead in relief and slight tiredness.
Jack walked over to her since he was over at the control panel for the ghost shield and several other ghost weapons, Tucker couldn't move around a lot due to his injuries and since he was watching over the ghost shield which was at maximum capacity.
"Great job Maddie, hopefully this should prevent the ghosts coming from this portal."
"Well, didn't they stop entering from that portal once you put the shield up?" Tucker asked, speaking logically.
Jack felt confused and slightly dumbfounded by what Tucker said, but eventually understood when Maddie explained it more thoroughly to him.
"Well, this will make sure that no more ghosts will come through this portal for a while. And besides, I think I might make some upgrades."
Jack smiled, he loved it when he and his wife worked together with almost anything to do with ghost hunting, and he loved it when they could make ghost weapons together too. But sometimes, Maddie wouldn't like it since sometimes Jack would make a weapon and it would malfunction or explode.
"Hey, I was thinking that too!" Jack exclaimed.
Maddie walked away from the dismantled ghost portal and wiped her hands on an old rag. She examined the ghost shield and saw the short tunnel that the green haze would always cover whenever the ghost portal was operating. She smiled and then decided on something with Jack.
"Danny needs us."
"Are you sure sweet cakes? I think Jazz and Sam gave him enough boost of confidence. "Jack said not hesitating but just stating what he believed was true.
Maddie moved closer to Jack with a face of desperation, she hugged Jack before explaining why they needed to help their son.
"Jack, I know you think he'll be fine since he has ghost powers. But ghost boy or not, he is still our son and we have to do anything we can to help."
Maddie's words of wisdom made Jack tear up a little; they both knew how strongly they cared for their children. Jack embraced Maddie again before agreeing.
"You're right Maddie, our boy does need us."
Maddie smiled in reply before running off to find a ghost weapon to bring with her when they looked for Danny. Meanwhile Jack had done the same but before he left after Maddie had already left the room, he gave a few words of advice to Tucker since he would be the only one down in the lab.
"Tucker, if anything goes wrong, just let me know through the Fenton phones. But other than that, good luck."
"Don't worry Mr Fenton, I can handle this much technology." Tucker bragged with a grinning smile.
Jack smiled; he could see that Tucker had a lot of confidence, so he knew that he could trust him to hold down the fort while they were out helping Danny.
As soon as they reached outside, they then had to think of a way to find Danny and get there as quick as they could. They looked around for any vehicles, but then Maddie realised that the specter speeder wasn't too far away from the house. So she had her husband follow him down the street to where the ground was severely damaged from Skulker earlier and the sky above them beyond the green ghost shield was almost as dark as the night sky.
"Over there!" Maddie said pointing off into the distance.
"Great spotting Maddie!" Jack complimented.
They both hopped in the specter speeder and Maddie sat at the wheel so she was in full control, since she knew how rusty Jack could be when he was driving. She instead made Jack use the ghost detector to locate Danny.
"Remember Jack; don't activate it until we're outside the ghost shield." Maddie implied.
"Yep, sure thing." Jack replied.
While they flew towards the closest edge of the ghost shield, the ground which was a few feet below the hovering specter speeder, rumbled once again. The ground began to crack almost in every road that the shaking came in contact with. Jack and Maddie could see the damage from the front window and knew that there was yet another Earthquake happening.
"These earthquakes are becoming more constant." Maddie stated as she drove the specter speeder at high speed.
"I don't think the Earthquakes becoming more constant is a good thing."
Outside the ghost shield, Danny had punched another ghost into thin air while Jazz had blasted several ghosts back into the ghost zone, At the same time, Sam had blasted several ghosts Danny's way and Danny was able to blast them to almost ashes. He was angry and worried about the ghosts raiding this world as well as whether the two dimensions would collapse on each other if they didn't get rid of enough ghosts in time.
Danny fired another few ecto blasts at some ghosts that thought they could outsmart Danny. But Danny's anger towards the never-ending ghost attacks made the ghost disappear into thin air and possibly back into the ghost zone.
But then, as he defeated another ghost, he saw off in the distance that a portal had shown up. This was when he began to realise that this would never work since the ghosts would just come back through the portals. And then, surely enough more ghosts flew out of the portal and flew around freely until they saw Danny.
Danny's eyes glowed an even more glowing green before his hands lit up with green ecto energy. He fired a huge energy blast like he had never done before and made the ghosts evaporate into thin air. He then saw another portal show up much further away, he felt the tiredness catching up to him
"This is getting pointless. The ghosts just keep coming back. We need something that can get rid of a whole lot of ghosts all at once." Danny called out to Sam and Jazz.
"Well, this ghost weapon is only able to suck up two ghosts at a time." Jazz implied.
"Yeah, and I'm only able to make the ghosts weaker." Sam added.
Danny knew that there had to be something that could get rid of a whole lot of ghosts at once, if only he had a power that made a lot of ghosts disappear all at the same time.
And what power might that be? Hehe, I think you guys might have a good idea on what's going to happen and basically how it's all going to go down. ;) Well, hopefully the next chapter will be uploaded a little more regularly than this weekly one due to my trip. So expect the next one probably on Tuesday or Wednesday after I get back home.
