Nobody's Perfect
"Gerry, can you ask Sandra to meet me at the same pub as the other day?" Dan asked once Gerry had finished making drinks for the UCOS team.
"Yeah, course." Gerry replied, he could have told the other man that Sandra had gone back to France but right now it didn't seem like the right thing to do. Instead it left a plan forming in his head, he could get Dan and Strickland to the pub and tell them both there which would mean killing two birds with one stone.
"Thanks." Dan replied, his stare didn't quite meet Gerry's eyes.
"I just need to go and speak to Strickland."
"Okay." Dan replied curiously, Gerry hardly ever spoke to Strickland and him voluntary going to see his boss was unheard of, almost a once in a lifetime sort of thing.
"Gerry?" Strickland said his name worriedly. "Erm, come in. Is everything okay?" Strickland asked cautiously, it was clear that he was thinking the same thing that Dan had been.
"Yeah, it is to do with Sandra though. Can you meet us at the pub tonight?" Gerry asked, he was keeping up the pretence that Sandra was still around because he didn't want news getting back to Dan that she'd fled the country.
"Course, is 7 okay?" The younger man asked as he looked up from his diary.
"Perfect, by the way we need a warrant for the Steven's case."
"Ah okay, give me 10 minutes and I'll be down to your office."
"Thanks sir."
"Come on Gerry, you can do this." Gerry whispered to himself as he picked up his car keys and prepared to leave to meet Dan and Strickland who were both expecting to see Sandra, he didn't know how either of them were going to react to what was going on and the sudden change but they were going to have to cope with it. He went back through to his bedroom and picked up the paperwork for the DNA test and left the house. One way or another they were going to get answers and that could happen the easy way or they could kick up a stink and demand Sandra.
