Tenzin lay on his cot in the ship, staring up at the ceiling. Nobody wanted to be an Airbender. Nobody wanted to become a part of his culture. Would he find anyone willing to go with them?
Korra came and sat beside him, patting his shoulder. "I think we'll find someone willing to be an Airbender soon."
He smiled. "I hope so, Korra. This means the world to me."
"I know, I think Aang would be proud though, proud that you're doing all this for the Airbenders."
Nodding, Tenzin thought of Lin. He did want to hold up the legacy of the Air Nation, but he was searching for his own selfish reasons as well. He wanted to make his life one for himself again. Maybe, he felt guilt for that. He felt guilty for wanting to find Airbenders so he could be with Lin. But, he was tired of living for a legacy that wasn't his.
"I hope so. I have done everything that I thought was right for the Air Nation all my life. I only hope it was enough."
"I want to prove I'm a good Avatar, and this is the first time I feel like I can prove that. I can restore an entire nation…one that was wiped out for a hundred years."
Tenzin looked up at Korra. She had grown so much since they first began training. "You have turned into an amazing young Avatar and a bright young woman. I am so proud of you, Korra." He sat up and leaned against the wall.
"Thank you, Tenzin, for everything. We're going to do this!" She reached out and hugged him tightly.
Tenzin returned the hug and smiled. "Thank you, Korra."
