Behind the door, Steve heard the clattering sound but had no idea what it was. That scared him.
"Danny! Danny." He called. There was no answer. "Danny." He turned back to Chin and Kono. "I need to get in there."
"How? I doubt these rooms have back doors or windows." Chin said.
"There has to be some way. I am not leaving him in there." Steve looked past Kono.
"What?" She asked. Steve stepped past her and put his hand on a dirty silver unit.
"Air ducts." He said. "This place is full of them. Maybe one runs over the top of the room."
"This area has not been used in years Steve, the air ducts are probably old and decaying. " Chin said.
"We have no other option right now." Steve said. "You….I need you to find me some blue prints of these floors." He called to a guard who stood near them.
"I know of one." He said. In a second he was gone and running back through the hallways.
"Steve, what if there is no access with air ducts? We need to get in there." Chin said.
"I know, Kono I need you to go and find some bags, duffel bags, back pack and stuff them with whatever you can find. He wants his drugs and money, we will give them to him." Kono nodded and she too disappeared back down the halls.
"You think that will work?" Chin asked him.
"It has too. Especially if there is no access into that room." Steve looked at his friend. "It has to Chin." It wasn't long before the guard returned with an old and dusty map.
"Here you go sir, it was in an old abandoned maintenance room. Used to sneak in there for a smoke." The guard smiled.
"Well done" Steve said. He took the map and frantically opened it. "There, an air duct goes right over that room. If I can find a way into it, I can get access."
"Access how? It goes over it, there may not be a way down from it into the room." Chin pointed out.
"Most rooms do have access." The guard said.
"I have got to try." Steve said. He looked back to the map and pointed out a small section. "I can get into it from there."
"Its down here sir." The guard said. Steve and Chin followed the man down towards the access panel. It was small but Steve knew he could do it. He grabbed a flashlight from the guards belt. "Chin, I need you and the men here to attack from the door when I give the say. Keep an open line on your cell." Steve said.
"Be careful." Chin said. Steve nodded and lifted himself up to the small opening. Chin watched the man disappear up the duct and then returned to the door. He listened for a while but could hear nothing.

Danny laid on the ground. Stunned and aching all over. His ribs were on fire and his whole body hurt with each breath he took. He looked up to Uncle D, his gun pointing right at him.
"Go on, give me a reason?" He said.
"You pull that trigger and a rather annoyed bull dozer will come through that door, and he will be carrying a rather excitable gun. Bullet holes hurt." Danny said.
"Is that meant to scare me?" Uncle D asked. "Because it doesn't."
"You have no idea who is behind that door, its probably not a good idea to piss them off." Danny said. Uncle D leant down towards Danny. In a shift movement he punched Danny in the side of the head. Danny crumpled to the ground.
"You think I care!" He yelled. Danny could feel his head pounding, a lump was appearing on his temple. Uncle D grabbed him once more and pulled him up. He placed the tip of his gun under Danny's chin, pushing it into his skin. "What exactly will they do if I pulled the trigger right now….save you? Not a chance."
"You do that and there is no chance you will get what you want. Not exactly a good plan is it?" Danny replied. Uncle D violently threw him back onto the old bed.
"You have a smart mouth on you. I am surprised one of them hasn't shot you yet."
"I am sure he has thought about it." Danny replied. Uncle D walked back over towards the door, Danny took a second and laid his head back on the bed. He felt like death, his body was almost on fire and how his headache had intensified.
"So cop, where is my stuff?" He called through the door. There was no answer. Danny knew what it meant. He had been around Steve long enough now to know what his partner was thinking, to know what his next movement would be. Sometimes he gave Danny enough warning to get out of the way, sometimes he was in the middle of a Steve related mess. "You hear me cop" Uncle D called again.
"You will get your stuff. Let me talk to Danny?" It was Chin. Danny knew something was happening.
"Who are you, where is the other guy?" Uncle D demanded.
"I am Lieutenant Kelly. McGarrett has gone to get what you asked for."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"Its true. He booked the drugs and cash into evidence when we retrieved it, only he can book it out again. Department rules." Chin lied. Uncle D looked over to Danny. Danny knew he had to play along and nodded in agreement. "Well for your friends sake, he had better be back here soon."
"Let me talk to Danny." Chin enquired again. Uncle D raised his gun and levelled it at Danny.
"Not a chance cop." He said. Behind the door, Chin held his cellphone in his hand. He could heard McGarrett gently moving through the air ducts. The leader had not instructed that he had come across any dead ends, so Chin was encouraged that Steve was getting to where he needed to be.
"I just want to make sure he is okay. That's all." Chin tried again.
"And I want my money, I get that…..you get him. End of." Uncle D yelled back. Chin turned as Kono returned holding 2 holdalls. They looked full. Chin peered inside and saw a selection of towels and sheets. Kono done the bags up and placed them on the ground.
"Lets hope we don't need them." Chin said
