A message to my readers and followers: Thank you so much for sticking with me and being so patient. My life has been exceptionally chaotic. I just now had the time and energy to get a chapter up. You are the best!

Alex's mind raced frantically as she was shuffled into Letty's car and driven at now all too familiar intense speeds, racing towards the airport. Hobbs handed her a bag and directed her to go change in the bathroom, promising that no one else was inside and they'd keep anyone else from going in. Quietly, Alex walked into the empty room, the light citrus scent barely noticeable. She dug into the bag and pulled out a pair of cargo pants, a belt, black t-shirt, socks and tennis shoes just barely too big for her. Once clothed she felt a bit safer, a bit less exposed. There were bruises on her arms and legs but at least with the jacket she found at the bottom of the bag, they'd be covering. Using her fingers she dealt with as many snarls as she could before exiting the bathroom and finding the group. It was hard for her not to shy away from Hobbs and Jael. She knew that they were her friends and that she could trust them but after the abuse Gaven had administered she couldn't imagine another man holding her except for Brian.

"This way. We have to hurry." Hobbs guided her and the others to an empty terminal where a small jet waited.

"What about Brian?" Alex questioned fearfully, "Don't you understand? Gaven will kill him!" She trembled with worry as tears burned the rims of her eyes.

Letty came up beside her. "Dom has him covered. We just need to get you home."

The asphalt came up fast as Dom tackled Brian to the ground, out of Gaven's murderous path. Quickly he urged Brian to get back in his car and drive. In moments the three were racing towards the highway, swerving through traffic with Brian in the lead and Gaven in the middle and gaining. Desperate to get away from Gaven and civilians Brian ventured south towards Rosemount. Drifting skills were essential for the curving road but Gaven didn't seem to be lacking. Brian heard tires squealing behind him as Dom had to halt or risk colliding with an irresponsible semi. Brian drove just past the center of town, over the rail tracks and into the woods before skidding to a stop. Gaven exited his car huffing as he approached Brian. Fists thrown and the two wrestled for what seemed like hours. Gaven's lip bled heavily and Brian's side was tender before Gaven furiously shove Brian and pulled a gun. Unfortunately Brian didn't have a weapon on him and wasn't close enough to disarm Gaven. He hoped for a miracle and thought or Jack and Alex.

"You stole the only woman I've ever loved from me." Gaven slurred and snarled. "She was supposed to only be mine…no body else's…but she lied. She fucked you the first chance she got…I figure if she's gonna act like a no good whore then she can just be one…Might as well make a profit…You know, she's gonna be my best one."

Brian gritted his teeth, glaring at Gaven with hatred. "She's no whore."

"Oh really? My dick certainly thinks she is…She's probably so loose from me now that she'll be able to handle our heaviest of clients." His words made Brian feel nauseous, struggling to realize just what Alex had been through with Gaven. "You know, I would've cut you a deal but no, now you're gonna die and she'll never get to see you again."

[Three Months Later]

"Letty. I don't want to lay low. I'm tired of hospitals and needles and medicine. I'm tired of it. I just want to go home." Alex had been admitted to the hospital in California after having a panic attack on the flight in. She was examined and had blood tests ran. She was supposed to go home two weeks ago but ended up having to stay due to some excessive bleeding. The doctors thought that she may have been in the earliest stages of a pregnancy and later confirmed so. Alex didn't feel remorse as she knew that the baby was likely Gaven's and she wanted nothing to do with him. The only thing she wanted was to get home to Brian, whom as far as she knew was supposed to be coming back soon.

"Doc said you could go. Just chill. We have to sign the paperwork."

During the ride home Alex was quiet. "How are you feeling?" Letty asked. She knew that Alex missed Brian. She had started crying when they brought Jack to visit her. The boy slept beside Alex all night and most of the following day, having been convinced that he had magic powers that would make her feel better.

"I just want all this to be done." Alex sighed. She didn't know why Brian was still in Minnesota, but she did know that he was alive and that gave her hope.
