Hello everyone! I actually updated! I'm so proud of myself! :D

Thank you everyone for your continued support for this story! It literally means a lot to me! I'm glad you all enjoyed the last chapter and I'm happy that none of you expected the whole "Valentine being controlled" twist! I will admit it was a last minute idea, but I really liked the idea! I will also admit, this chapter isn't my usual length of a chapter, I'm working my way back to over 3000 worded chapters, but is it better I update sooner or wait forever till I update?

Thank you everyone that has reviewed, followed, favourited and viewed this story! If I could thank you all in person, I would give you a brownie for being awesome! :3

Minty: Thank you! :D

Kailey: Finally! :D I'll try to update again soon with a longer chapter! :D

greygirl2358: Aw I'm sorry for keeping you waiting! Yep! It was a last minute idea really, but I wanted to keep Lilith in the story! What better way than for her to be the bad guy...behind the bad guy! I think Lilith is meant to be hated as much as Jace hates ducks! Well she is in this story anyway! :D

Author IzzyV: Yep, I love twists in stories and it was a last-minute idea! :P I didn't want Valentine to be the real bad guy in this story because I changed his personality at the start of the story and knew I couldn't make him sadistic or rash without a good reason...

ClaceandStelenaTMITVD: Yay! Another Stelena shipper! Everyone I know is a Delena shipper D: I love Stefan! Don't worry, Clary will be fine...not in this chapter, but she will be fine! I love how everyone knows it's Lilith, I don't think I named her in the last chapter! :D Thank you! :D

nightflightthehero: Updated! :D

Clary POV

Clary snapped open her eyes. She was confused by her surroundings.

She was in her room. She had passed out in the hallway, and now she was in her room lying on her bed. Had her father carried her to her bed or had one of the servants?

Clary was afraid to move. She didn't want to stretch, shift or roll off the bed because her back was no longer flaring with the pain she had felt before her consciousness left her in a numbing darkness and she didn't to ruin that peace by moving.

Unfortunately, she couldn't stay in her bed forever. She needed to find out what was going on.

She remembered everything that happened before she passed out. Especially learning her father was being controlled to purposely hurt her.

Taking a deep breath, Clary slowly and carefully sat up and swung her feet over the bed, waiting for the pain to wash over her. None came.

Puzzle, Clary walked over to a full length mirror in the corner of the room. Her reflection showed her poor hygienic appearance. Her long curly red hair that she had put in a loose pony tail before training with her father, now looked like it had been pulled through a bush in a tornado. Her pale and freckled face and arms were covered in dried sweat and tears. She didn't remember crying...Her black stretchy training clothes were ruffled and torn in places from where her father had caught her during training.

Turning around and lifting her shirt, still wary the pain could return at any moment. She looked over her shoulder to see the reflection of her back.

From the exposed area of her back that she could see, she expected to find raw red lines of wounds caused by the whip lashings she received. Instead her back now revealed intricate criss crosses of scars. The white scar of one of her runes stood out as it was on the only piece of her back that wasn't scarred from a whip.

Ignoring to allow the scars bother her, Clary turned her attention away from the her reflection and stared straight ahead, her gaze falling on a rectangle white piece of paper stuck to her door that lead to the hallway.

Clary walked over to the door and plucked the paper off it. She realised it wasn't a piece of paper like she thought, it was a photo.

She inspected the image and felt her heart stop before giving a painful thump.

The picture was clearly taken outside the institute in New York as Clary recognised the familiar wooden doors and steps where she had been taken. What stood out the most was the two figures standing at the bottom of the steps.

One was an older Jace. He looked, if possible, more golden and tanned. His arms were covered in runes and he was wearing demon hunting gear. Jace looked much taller, even if it was just a photo and he had definitely gained more muscle.

The other figure of the photo is what caused the pain in her chest as years of repressed emotions flooded through her.

She would recognise that pure white hair and black eyes anywhere. If the figure looked older than eighteen, Clary might have thought it was her father. But in her heart she knew who she was looking at.

It was her brother, Jonathan.

Jonathan POV

"What kind of moron are you!" Jonathan hissed at the idiotic golden moron that had ruined everything.

Jace had screwed up their plans. They had gone to a bar that wolves frequented. Jace had gotten into a fight with the first werewolf that approached them and the rest of the pack had as expected, surrounded them and started shifting momentarily into their wolf forms and back to their human form. The owner had started shouting for them to leave, and before they could annoy the peace keeper of the werewolves, they left without getting information.

Jace just rolled his eyes, but kept walking down the street. "I don't see how I was in the wrong." He said in a flat voice.

"You don't see what's wrong with asking a werewolf if it's safe for him to drink on a full moon? do you have any brain cells or did your last brain cell kill itself from being lonely?"

Jace turned around, his gold eyes glaring at Jonathan. "I'm getting sick of you lashing out at me for every little imperfection to whatever plan is forming in your head. There was a slim chance of the werewolves knowing anything about you ass of a father or Clary-"

"It's CLARISSA! Stop using that childish name! It's CLAR-IS-A! And maybe we could be sure the werewolfs don't know anything if we had a chance to question them! Except you let your immaturity get the better of you and you had to anger not just one werewolf, but a whole freaking pack!"

Jace stepped closer to Jonathan. They were similar in height, aside from Jonathan being an inch taller.

"Don't think that I don't miss her either-"

"You barely knew her for a day! Any feeling you think you feel towards her is guilt! Because you let her get stabbed instead!"

"I heard stories about her from Isabelle! I knew her before we met! And how are you any better? You went along with pretending to be dead, allowing her to believe she lost her only brother!"

Jonathan felt his demonic side rising inside of him. He was able to fend it off by calming down, but he wanted to let himself be angry, whatever the result. He raised his left arm and pressed it against Jace's throat and backing him instantly into the wall of a shop. They were glamoured so none of the mundies could see them. Jace didn't even try to fight Jonathan off, not like Jonathan was trying to kill him either, but the defiant expression on golden boys face wasn't helping his anger.

"You have no idea, absolutely no idea what you're talking about! You have no idea what I've gone through or what my family is like. So don't you dare think you're better than me just because you've heard stories and formed some crush on my little sister! As soon as I get her back, you won't even get a chance to apologise!"

"I don't really care about what you've gone through. You're heartless and point out others mistakes instead of your own. You can believe whatever it is you think is going to happen once I - We - save Clary, but she's staying wherever she wants to!" Jace smirked at the last part like he thought his sister want to stay with him.

"When *I* save *CLARISSA*, I'm taking her away from all you people!" Jonathan hissed, his own smirk planted on his face as he enjoyed the anger seeped through Jace's expression.

"Like hell you are!" Jace than began struggling against Jonathan's hold.

Jonathan removed his arm from Jace's throat and stepped away. He unsheathed the seraph blade at his waist and stood in a fighting stance. "What did you think was going to happen Wayland? that as soon as I got Clarissa back, I'd give her to you? My sister has better judgement than that!" Jonathan needed to calm down...right now. His demon side was taking complete control and he couldn't let it take over. He wouldn't be able to gain control again.

Jace unsheathed his own seraph blade, posing in his own stance. He looked completely confused when Jonathan dropped his own weapon and started taking deep breaths.

"What are you doing?" Jace asked, not changing his stance.

Jonathan raised his hand to signal for him to not attack. "I need to calm down...now!" Jonathan than raised his head and ran into the alley near by. As soon as he was in it, he leaned against a wall, still trying to regain control over himself.

In a moment, Jace was standing two meters away, seraph blade in hand along with Jonathan's. He didn't need to look at golden boy to notice. He could smell the boys horrible scent and sense the vibrating energy from the blades. He could also smell the smoke of a mundie as he passed the alley, which was a good ten meters away.

"What's going on?!" Jace demanded.

Jonathan stared at the anger clear in the boys face. "Mind carrying me to the institute?" Jonathan smirked, but before Jace could ask what was going on, Jonathan brought his head forward before quickly and forcefully slamming it into the brick wall behind him and crumpling to the ground as he heard Jace's outburst of questioning of his sanity as he fell to the ground of the ally.

Another chapter finished! If anyone is confused by Jonathan knocking himself unconscious, I'll explain in the next chapter! I know it's out of character, but I did have a reason!

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I wrote it with being awake for nearly 24 hours and needed to keep myself busy! When I get some sleep, I'll look over the chapter and fix any errors I might have made!

And if you missed out in the last chapter, I created a Facebook page (Because I was procrastinating) and the link for the page is in my profile! It's called "Screw it, I'm going to be a Shadowhunter." Still have no idea what I'm going to do with the page, but I plan to use it to tell everyone when I've updated stories and give sneak peaks since I'm on Facebook more than twitter!

I hope to update soon, hopefully with a longer chapter, but until then ~Maraudergirl684486
