Chapter Twenty-Eight

I just love my reviewers!

This is a sort of filler chapter, before the wedding, it's not filler material though..it's good plot development :)

How far in the future should the sequel be?

I may just pick it up a few months down the road, not sure.

Don't Own Glee.

Don't ask me about the announcement..I'll just get angry again. Someone who's not Darren or Chris is a douche..just sayin.

It was the fourth of July; their wedding was still 2.5 weeks away at the end of the month. They were all at a water park, Blaine was in the water with Christopher, Finn acting like he was chasing him, making Christopher giggle. Kurt was sitting underneath a big umbrella beside Carole, they were watching Burt, who had just gotten up, make his way to his grandson who was more than thrilled to see paw paw coming. He smiled at Carole, who looked back at him, "you seem to be doing really good now Kurt".

He nodded, "yeah it took some time but I'm finally I think okay with everything".

She smiled, "I'm glad".

"Why aren't you out there with them?"

Kurt laid himself back down on the blanket he brought, "I just don't feel like it".

Carole raised her eyebrow to Kurt, "honey you love the water, you feeling under the weather?"

He nodded, "just kinda tired is all".

Carole smirked and went back to her book.

Blaine came up a little while later, lying beside Kurt, "you okay baby?"

Kurt nodded, "just relaxing, I'm fine".

"Why don't you come in the water and play with Christopher, you should see your dad and Finn..two big kids out there with him".

Kurt sat up seeing his dad letting Christopher push him in the water while Finn was holding him, giggling every time Burt disappeared and then reappeared.

Blaine was watching Kurt's face, seeing him smile, then the smile fading and all the color draining from his face.

"Kurt what's wrong?"

Kurt didn't answer he just got up and ran to the bathroom, Blaine just watched him go, not quite sure what to make of it.

Carole looked over at Blaine, "go check on him silly".

Blaine took off after Kurt as Burt came up with Finn and Christopher to apply more sun block.

"Where did Blaine run off to, and where's Kurt?"

Carole just smiled, "Kurt's sick".

When they got home later Kurt had went and lay down and Blaine was making Christopher a snack in the kitchen when he spotted Carole just watching him.

"Do I have something on my face?"

She shook her head, "just remembering when we all met, then seeing you now, you've grown up so much".

Blaine smiled, "I didn't have a choice really", he said pointing at his son.

"Yes you did, you could've dumped him on Kurt, given him up, but you didn't, you decided to be a father. That meant you were already grown up".

He smiled again, handing Christopher a piece of banana, "thanks".

"How's Kurt?"

"He feels awful, I wonder if he caught that bug that's going around."

Carole giggled and walked over to Blaine and kissed the oblivious boy on the forehead, "whatever you say honey", and walked up the stairs.

Blaine was confused, but finished feeding his son and went downstairs to put him down for a nap.

Kurt heard Blaine come down the stairs, but he didn't move, he didn't want to, he was afraid the sprite he drank on the way home wouldn't stay in his stomach if he moved. That's when his stomach turned; he flung himself off the bed and ran to the bathroom, not hearing the footsteps following him. He felt a wet washcloth being applied to the back of his neck, and someone rubbing circles on his back. He sat back on his heels; sure that he stomach was done hating him for the moment. He looked up at Blaine, seeing Blaine smile apologetically down at him.

"Come one I'll help you back to bed".

He let Blaine tuck him back in, only being able to lay there and moan in misery. Blaine crawled in beside him, brushing his hair from his forehead, 'hmm..no fever' he thought. He kept running his fingers through Kurt's hair, feeling the tension leave his fiancé's body. He heard Kurt whisper something; he leaned in closely to hear him, "sing to me".

Blaine smiled, "okay, whatever makes you feel better".

He sat there trying to think of a song to sing him.

I've been alone

Surrounded by darkness

I've seen how heartless

The world can be

I've seen you cryin

You felt like it's hopeless

I'll always do my best

To make you see

Baby you're not alone

Cause you're here with me

And nothin is ever gonna bring us down

Cause nothin can keep me from lovin you

And you know it's true

It don't matter what'll come to be

Our love is all we need

To make it through

He looked down at Kurt, who was finally asleep; at least he seemed to be, until about the time Blaine tried to get up to get a drink. That's when Kurt's stomach decided to twist and hate him again, right when he moved Kurt bolted into the bathroom. He was so violently ill he was whining after each time his stomach heaved. Blaine was right there again, wiping his face off and trying to comfort him as much as he could. He carried him back to bed, "baby do you think you should go to the doctor?"

Kurt shook his head, "just a virus".

Blaine sighed, then a light bulb went off, "um..baby..you don't think..you know?"

Kurt tried to laugh, "yeah I don't think so, I'll be better tomorrow, if I'm not we'll go to the doctor okay?"

Blaine nodded, kissing Kurt on the forehead, "I'm going to go upstairs to grab a drink, you want any toast or anything?"

Kurt shook his head, "I'm just going to try and sleep again".

After Blaine went upstairs, neither boy knew the other was silently praying that Blaine was right.

Kurt sat in the waiting room, opting to come alone, as he was sure it was just a stomach virus. Although at the moment he didn't feel too bad, so he sat there flipping the pages of the magazine. When they called his name, he couldn't help but feel nervous. He remembered the last time he was here, and if that happened again he didn't want Blaine there, he could do this on his own. He followed the nurse back, taking his weight; he'd lost 3 pounds, blood pressure, and the honorary urine sample. He sat in the exam room, anxiously waiting the doctor to come in and tell him he was imagining things, he had the flu he should feel better in a few days. That they'd give him a prescription for some flu medicine and go home and rest. So when he saw the doctor come in, he closed his eyes, not wanting to see the guilt in her eyes that she couldn't bring him the news he wanted to hear.

"Kurt, honey open your eyes, its okay".

He shook his head, "no just tell me so I can go home and cry".

She didn't say a word, just sat something in his hands, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at what she sat in his hands. It was a white stick with the word "pregnant" on it loud and clear.

He looked up at her, she had tears in her eyes, "your numbers are excellent. We'll send you over for an ultrasound, and get you some pictures to surprise him with okay?"

He nodded, not fully believing everything was okay. So when the picture came up on the screen and he heard that beautiful heartbeat, he cried. But when the technician moved the transducer to the other side of his stomach and he heard the heartbeat sound again, he opened his eyes. There on the screen were two babies, HIS babies, that's when he sobbed.

On the way home he made a decision to wait and tell Blaine till later, as he now had the perfect wedding gift for his fiance'.
