Hi, guys!

Here's a loud shout-out to the following people who answered correctly last chapter! amichele, BTRlover1122, Adeo1234, two unnamed guests, rosepika13, AlienGhostWizard14, LBozzie, and Jillie chan - congrats! The jet-wing was made out of fiberglass. ;)

Sharon1234, seastar529, Lady Cougar-Trombone, HamsterLover (aw, thanks!), FadingEcho12193, and 88keys - thank you guys, too! Your comments are incredibly sweet and valuable to me :)

Just a fair warning - though this may be a short entry, it's very full of Leo/Janelle fluffiness. I hope you guys like it as much as I did. :)

Disclaimer: Man. I haven't done this in a long time because of the general disclaimer on my profile page BUT - though I do not own Lab Rats (because, let's face it, if I own it, I'd...probably still let Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore run it because these guys are so brilliant with the way they handle the show), I do own the poem that is in this entry. That, I would stake my claim to. :)

It's been three days, and Janelle's still not speaking to me. I think she still blames me for the bumps on her head and the really bad combination of pudding and kitty litter (that she couldn't seem to fully wash out of) in her hair. I think her friends still tease her about it, especially when a few stray cats followed them around while they were hanging out Friday afternoon. When I heard about that yesterday, I texted her and told her that that was probably just a coincidence. I even told her that what I notice is that her hair now smells like vanilla.

I think I made her angrier, because she hadn't responded to any of my texts or calls. I think she might even be heavily considering unfriending me on Facebook because I've been sending her so many messages there.

Plus, there's also the issue with those lunatics. Rumors got out that Janelle had broken up with me, and all throughout the weekend all these guys are coming out of the woodwork and had been hitting on her. On Twitter, mind you! Not only that, those doofuses apparently had been saying bad things about me, telling Janelle that they were happy she finally wised up and saw that I was the worst guy she could be with.

They called me all kinds of names, but I decided it would be too petty to retaliate in kind when those dudes don't even acknowledge that Janelle is and has always been intelligent and can make educated decisions. I should know, because that's one of the things I like about her.

Still, that doesn't mean this situation doesn't make me nervous. Janelle's beautiful, and although that can attract creeps, it can also attract some decent guys that I would probably hate because there's nothing about them I could hate.

Rider King, for example. He's a cool dude, I'll admit. He's a hard worker, gets good grades, and very friendly. Janelle likes those things in a guy. It probably doesn't help my chances that he can and does serenade all the girls he likes, which he did Friday afternoon at the mall. According to Adam, he whipped out his guitar and started singing 'Gravity' to Janelle.

Reportedly, she was blushing so bad she looked like a tomato even from a mile away.

This just means I have to step up my game.

I've been trying to come up with ways to win Janelle back. I tried to make a mixed CD for her, and I would have gone for that if not for my mission specialist desk having to go under some reconstruction. My music library was saved there, and now it's all gone because Adam, Bree and Chase let Principal Perry spill water all over it. I was so upset with them when I found out that I started yelling, which was probably a bit too much, but come on! You don't mess with a man's music library. If you do, you know bad things are bound to happen. Chase tried to make up for it by helping me retrieve as many songs as we can from the backup in my laptop, but a huge chunk of it is gone because I wasn't able to save it there in time – and most of it were Janelle's recommendations and new favorites.

So mixed CD is out.

Adam and Bree suggested that I take her on another date, where the chances of me goofing things up are less likely, but I told them that that place doesn't exist yet. Plus, if she won't even respond to my calls, she'll definitely ignore a dinner invite.

I was getting pretty desperate for an idea, any idea at all. Tomorrow's Monday, and I have a feeling that a bunch of other Rider Kings are going to try and persuade Janelle to really break it off with me and come with them.

I don't want her to leave. Just the thought of her being with someone else makes me want to throw up, like the way Big D did when he ate the spinach, gummy worms, fish and canned cheese casserole that Adam cooked for dinner a few nights ago. I like her a lot, and I'm not going to go down without a fight because I honestly think I'm the right guy for her. But I was running out of ideas. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what else to say to convince her to keep choosing me.

Then it came to me an hour ago, while we were driving through Golden Gate Bridge.

I hope this works. I hope she doesn't think that writing this poem for her is lame.

"Subterfuge"

It's a lie—

the greatest truth as

untruth conspires—

that we must,

should now part

You insist on distance, as

if I'm the moon that should

be chased away by

daylight to make way

for the noon sun;

or like a ship, to be pushed

far from the isles by

the winds driven mad

But how can I comply

when your warmth corrodes

every inch of coldness that

celestial obscurity leaves

onto me? when each fiber

of my being is already

immersed, lost as the

lost gates of Atlantis

lay forgotten under the sea?

This I refuse to believe:

that you and I must,

should never be

Because I know that

as I long for you, you

will also long for me

I think I'll see if Mom and Bree think it's a winner. If it is, then I'm reading this to Janelle at home room tomorrow.

Signed,

Leo Francis Dooley
