Recap:
"It's almost like you want me…" he whispered, cupping the demon's face in his free hand face flushed deeply "to have your child."
The sudden statement caught the demon off guard and like the young earl before him lost his composure sending him over the teetering edge of whatever self-control he had left.
"It must be him! It must! Huzzah! It's the earl, Ciel Phantomhive!"
"I can't believe they won't give me extra staff at this hour…" holding his arm out as the Pigeon landed, tying the message attached to its leg, "take this document to personnel."
"Welcome to the manor. We've been expecting you, Lord Phantomhive."
Both came to a stop when the ginger ahead began to chuckle to himself, talking out loud. "It really is, true 'ee can't judge people by appearances. A little tacker like 'ee has the stage names "Queen's guard dog" and Villainous noble"? Turning to look at the two, he could see them trying to read his expression, but it was to no avail they would have understood "I reckon that's hard, Smile."
Ciel narrowed his eyes as he looked at Joker, he was really out of place to say such a thing towards him, "I am Ciel, Earl Phantomhive. I don't tolerate servants speaking to me so familiarly. Watch your tongue… Joker." The way he spoke wasn't much less of warning, but a threat. Watching as the red head shrugged and shook his head. " 'Ee be a noble, alright." Turning to face the pair, Joker bowed respectfully and spoke of dinner being ready.
Opening the door to the supposed grand dining hall, Ciel looked around to see it wasn't as grand as his. He supposed, everything was laid out in prepared for the feast they were supposed to be having. Taking his seat that Joker had pulled out for him Ciel looked around only to turn when Joker spoke of the head of the manor making his entrance.
"L- Lord Phantomhive, you came! Oh, it's like a dream come true having you so close to me!" Ciel, not faltering, but equally disgusted as he looked at the seemingly lifeless children behind him "I'm embarrassed to meet you looking like this…" The way he spoke as if he had a long-time crush on the child, it truly made his insides churn as the thought of what transpired all those years ago tried to force their way up. The young Earl, still sitting where he was, unmoving.
"That's right! Ah, that formality makes me feel a bit shy though. I've prepared a feast for you!" Upon the bell ringing, the demon and teen watched as little girls dressed as maids flowed out from the door whilst Joker wheeled out wine. "This is an 1875 vintage Wine from the year you were born! I apologize if it is too overblown"
The word disgusted wasn't even to describe how he was feeling at this point, this man was truly, obsessed with him. As much as he was uncomfortable he needed to push through with this mission the queen ordered him for. Ciel turned in curiosity when Joker had poured win in his glass, but never spoke a word. A gloved hand came down and grabbed the glass instead sampling it for him in his stead." Evidently it isn't poisoned. But if I do say so myself, you are a bit young to be drinking." Sebastian set the glass down, all biut whispering into the young earl's ear. He could hear the earl grit his teeth silently, and stood back up, bemused by the situation.
"I don't need a taster. I've no interest in eating a meal put on by rats." Turning his attention back to the girls setting down boiled lobster down in front of him he spoke once more, "now those children…"
"We can assume that there are more victims than the police know of." The demon chiding in and finished his statement that Ciel further concluded, he watched in undisguised displeasure as Lord Kelvin dug into the feast he had prepared for the young Earl.
"But they look—" Torn away from his thoughts when Kelvin suddenly spoke up.
"Oh, I know! A meal without entertainment will bore you, won't it my lord? Joker! Put on your show." Sebastian watched in interest as he watched the circus ring leader begin to stumble over his words, the uncertainty they held.
"What? B- But—" Looking at his father in nervousness, he watched the man bite into the lobster. The look he gave was demanding if he knew what was best for him. "Just do it."
Put into this difficult situation, Joker sighed defeatedly and fought down the urge to vomit. "Of course."
Sebastian and Ciel watched as the young man made his way over to the stage and like usual began his opening act.
"Welcome, Lord Phantomhive! Tonight, we'll take thee to a world of thrilling enchantment!" The curtain raised to reveal more children lined up ready to start the show on command, Ciel felt sick to his stomach as he watched Lord Kelvin clap in pure amusement. "First, our tightrope walker!" No safety net tonight, me lovelies! It's a bona fide—"
Splat
Ciel watched in horror as the child fell to her death, yet despite it all Joker continued. Lord Kelvin's shrewd laughter and clapping filling the hall. "Next, our lion tamer. Watch as he masters the savage beast!" Once the screen was removed between the boy and the lion, that was it. Ciel felt whatever dinner he had eaten earlier was seriously forcing his way back up as he lion tore into the comatose child and Kelvin's laughter growing quite boisterous. Joker couldn't have been anymore disgusted as well, but still fought through it. "And now, our knife-thrower! What will become of this maiden on the cross?!"
Before the child could even begin the next act, the knives were snatched from his hands. Joker, whom had covered in eyes in horror had peeked to see what the cause had been. "Elary Nixon, who went missing in Cornwall." Holding the missing paper next to the child whom he had confirmed to be true "That settles it. Right as always, young master. Forcing children, you abducted to perform… Yes, I suppose this is one way to enjoy the circus."
Having not said a word after his order to stop Sebastian from another innocent child being killed, Lord Kelvin spoke up. "S- Sorry! You didn't like this, either? Joker, clean up at once!" Finally having heard enough, Ciel stood up, the plate and silverware clattering as he exclaimed, the red wine staining the once pure tablecloth. "I'm done here. I'm not in the habit of sharing a table with riffraff lover than farm animals." Steady but loud footsteps becoming apparent after the resounding scrape of the chair against the marbled floors filled the dining hall.
"Wh- What? What's wrong?!" Lord Kelvin couldn't understand, he had done everything in hope his young lord would appreciate his efforts. What was the problem now? If there was anything he could have done to fix it, he would see to it be done in that very instant.
If it weren't for the gloves he was sure his hand would have been bleeding by now with how hard he was clutching his fists. "This will do for my report to the Queen: "I found the foul, vulgar, unsightly, perverted brute and I disposed of him." It wasn't even in a matter of a minute before Ciel, Joker and Sebastian were in a stand-off, the gun pointed directly at Lord Kelvin's eye.
"M- My Lord?" Lord Kelvin's eyes widened when he realized what he was doing "Joker! Don't point that dangerous thing at the earl!"
The cool metal of the blade pressed against his throat, his life was hanging in the balance between Ciel's butler and the life of his father. "But—" Kelvin wasn't having none of it and once more scolded his eldest son.
Ciel huffed as he held the man at gun point, demanding to see where the children they had kidnapped were hidden. Kelvin looked at the young earl in excitement inquiring quite happily that Ciel had wanted to meet them all, claiming that they were in the cellar and had no problem taking him to them stating that there was something he wanted to show him anyway.
"It's like a dream, getting to chat with you like this!" Kelvin exclaimed happy as the elevator had taken them to the cellar, "Save you breath and take me to the children." He was getting tired of this sick and perverted man yapping off about how he had wanted to meet Ciel and how talking to him has been a dream. Upon Ciel somewhat snapping the Lord apologized and yet continued talking regardless of this situation; before they were wheeled into a giant atrium.
Ciel's gasped as he recognized the room and the sudden memory of everything flooded back, his hand gripped the can as he felt his legs turn into pure jelly, if it weren't for his cane he was sure he would have fallen. All these children, he couldn't think straight. It was truly his worst nightmare, something he hoped to never live through again. The branding, the molestation, the blood.
"Now, Lord Phantomhive, let's repeat that day three years ago!"
The room was quite cold in every aspect that they had, as he stood before the board, hands clasped awaiting to hear what the committee had to say. "Temp worker, Grell Sutcliffe." "Yes?"
"We release you from confinement as of midnight today. See that you mend your attitude towards your job so that you don't break regulations again and apply yourself even more to your work."
Upon leaving the court, Grell sighed deeply as the giant heavy gilded wooden doors closed shut behind him with a resounding slam. Stopping in his tracks, Grell began to chuckle before it turned into full blown laughter. The sound of a chainsaw filled the air and the Shinigami cheered happily. "I'm back!"
The wicked laughter of the rogue Shinigami filled the night air if London while his partner Ronald watched in amusement. "Senior Sutcliffe, you're really excited huh?"
"Obviously! They made me clean and do chores for my whole confinement. Do you realize how I've longed for this day?! Oh, it feels so good to be back in my hands! This really is the best death scythe." Twirling around on the ledge of the clocktower before stopped to hug his death scythe with a pout. "Plus, I haven't even been able to see my dear Bassy. Not that I don't love Will as well."
The blond soul reaper sighed with much amusement and shook his head, "It wasn't easy getting you permission to use that, you know. Seriously, if I hadn't asked that girl in General Affairs—" Grell chided in happily as he swung his scythe back and forth.
"I know, I know. ~~ You don't have to harp on it. I'm assuming, not that you minded anyway, I'm sure she enjoyed herself too." Grell chuckled as he licked his lips at the same thought, but with William and Sebastian. He could feel shivers all over his body and giggled.
Ronald shivered for a completely different reason and muttered quietly to himself, "I don't understand what William sees in you."
