Chapter 28

Leann's POV

Three words: once helluva morning.

Okay, technically five words, but oh well.

Something was wrong, and it was taking more and more energy for me to travel long distances, as I was losing sleep and I had done it so many times.

So, I ended up getting up at five thirty in the morning.

Now, I know I sound like a wimp, but I was exhausted. And Travis and Connor were worse. Don't even mention it.

They literally tripped over everyone in their cabin trying to grab their stuff and get ready. I had just thrown on a graphic t-shirt- which showed the image of Peter Pan (Disney version) flying away with Wendy, Michael, and John- and some old jeans and converse.

Travis was wearing a Camp t-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes made for running in.

Connor, on the other hand, wore his usual Camp shirt, but it had a tear in the side and a stain on it that looked a bit like blood. He had thrown on jeans with a hole on one knee, and two shoes that did not match.

"Connor," I hissed. "Change your shirt."

He looked down at his shirt, looking as if he just woke up from a dream. "Oh."

A few moments later he was in a new shirt and had put on matching shoes.

"Better." I said, giving him a quick once-over. He shot me a glare, and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Gross." Travis mumbled.

I said, "You're just jealous."

Connor laughed as Travis rolled his eyes and stalked off to the lake, mumbling about younger brothers and girlfriends.

I took Connor's hand as he said, "yep, definitely jealous."

I half-dragged him to the lake, ready to go to the station.

After arriving at the station and getting on the train, I dozed in and out of consciousness until the train took off. "Where are the others?" I heard Connor ask.

"Do you mean 'the golden trio.'" Travis joked.

I hit his arm. "Shut up."

Travis looked startled, and I smirked. "I wasn't asleep, thanks to you two."

"We're not that loud." Connor insisted as Harry, Hermione, and Ron walked in.

"Ah, it's the rest of the gang." Connor joked, and I glared at him.

Harry and Ron plopped down near Connor, and Hermione came to sit next to me. "We can't stay long-," Hermione began.

"We're prefects." Ron bragged.

I slowly clapped, and said sarcastically, "congratulations," and leaned my face on my palm.

"Someone's tired." Connor observed, and I kicked his shin.

He swore in Greek and rubbed his leg. "Language, little brother." Travis chided.

Connor mumbled something in Greek that sounded a lot like pigeon faced crab.

I rolled my eyes and turned to face the wizard trio. "So, I heard from someone that a lot's happened this summer."

Harry, Hermione, and Ron exchanged a quick glance, but I caught it. "Yeah, well," Harry said, "my cousin and I got attacked by… dementors."

"Creepy soul-sucking," Connor said a very impolite word.

This time, Travis kicked him. "When did you become such a potty mouth?"

"Potty mouth?" Connor said angrily.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron exchanged very confused glances as Connor and Travis launched into a full blown argument… in Greek.

I started laughing.

"We better go." Ron said after a few moments, and he and Hermione got up and left.

The argument between the two brothers had finally subsided after I calmed them down/punched them both in the shoulder.

I leaned my head back against the seat and watched the land roll by as the train continued on the track.

I heard Connor and Travis talking in hushed voices while Harry tapped his fingers impatiently, most likely ready for Hermione and Ron to come back.

I just needed some rest, but it would most likely result in nightmares. Though, my worries didn't help.

(If the time periods are wrong I apologize) I rummaged through my smaller bag and pulled out a book. My newest goal in life had been to read a book at least 400 pages long. I had chosen City of Bones, and it was pretty challenging. Not that I can't read, it's just dyslexia makes reading much harder. But I was enjoying it.

Connor came to sit next to me. I squinted at a word on the page, and he peeked over my shoulder. "I think it says 'excitement,' though it is a bit small." He said. "How are you reading that so well?"

"Practice." I snapped. "Or maybe it's just that I'm smarter than you"

Connor smiled lazily. "Oh, and she's got a bite."

"Shut up."

Travis came to sit on my other side. He looked at the book. "So is Jace like… the perfect boy in the book? The one that makes all the girls swoon?" He smiled jokingly.

"And Clary is in love with him, correct?" Connor asked.

"Oh gods, it sounds like Twilight." Travis said in a mock horrified voice.

I slapped him over the head with my book.

I don't own Percy Jackson, but I do own a Camp Half Blood shirt!
