This last month was really busy because I was out of town, so I didn't have time to write. I know I always have some excuse, but that's my life, guys. Anyway, I'm really sorry and I hope you are already interested in this story. This chapter is a bit longer, so that's my gift to you after my disappearance. I will continue writing tomorrow, so I hope next chapter will be published soon enough. By the way, this chapter was written very quickly, so I apologize for all the mistakes I may have done. :D
Librabelieber: In love with Lucy? No way! She's evil, remember? xD I was kidding, she is adorable in her way, right? :) Thank you for your comment. I hope you like this chapter even more than the previous one.
Guest: Another Lucy hater. You could form a group. xD Thanks for your review, buddy! :)
R3dN0te: Thank you! More jealous Paige or Emily? I'm curious about that. I don't know which one you'd like to see on future episodes.
Del: Yes, I'm sorry about the delay. August is always a difficult month to be doing things, you know. But I'm back and I have a few ideas in my head about this story, so I hope you continue reading it. Emily's fierceness is really funny, right? Thank you for your nice words. Have a nice day/night (dependind on where you live) xD

Chapter 28: Messy day
Emily's POV
I open my left eye to look at the alarm clock. It's 7.00 AM. Paige is not in her bed. I frown and I wake up quickly. I head to the bathroom, but she's not there either. I should be used to it by now, but I'm definitely not. I return to the room and I suddenly see a note on her bed. That's so Paige. At least she always has the decency of letting me know where the hell she is.
WENT FOR A RUN WITH JACK. I'LL CALL YOU LATER. LOVE YOU.
Happiness grows inside me when I read those two last words. I leave the note and I get inside the shower. 40 minutes later I leave the dorm so I can go have breakfast with Aria before going to class. She's already sitting on a table, waiting for me. Punctuality is one of her strong points.
"Good morning!" I add cheerfully. She looks at me with her big eyes and smiles widely.
"Good morning to you too. I'm starving, can we order?" She giggles at me. I nod at her. "Same as usual?"
"Of course," I joke. We've been coming to this café for a few weeks and we always order the same breakfast. The waitress looks at us from afar and nods at us. She already knows what we're having, so coming here it's always a good decision to avoid the unnecessary waiting times.
"So… how are you?" She asks before looking at her cellphone for a brief moment.
"I'm fine. How about you?" I ask politely. She shakes her head. "What's wrong?"
"I know you, Emily. Spit it out," she adds staring at me, using Spencer's methods.
"Apart from the double life I'm living? I'm great," I say ironically. She grins at me. "Well… I think I have another problem, but that's nothing compared to my disastrous life." I roll my eyes, and Aria looks at me, eager to know what that problem I'm talking about is.
"I'm waiting. Don't make me beg, Em." I grin at her.
"Is it really necessary? I mean…" I raise my eyebrows and she looks at me like she's really impressed about it.
"Has she made a pass on you?" She asks staring at me.
"Come on, Aria. You know her almost as well as I do. Don't try to act surprised," I add as I shake my head, a little bit annoyed.
"What did she do? And what was your reaction?" Her eyes are about to pop out. It's actually funny.
"She tried to kiss me the day she got here. And I had to heal her back after having an accident yesterday." I sense my pulse speeding up as I remember that moment.
"What? Are you a doctor now?" she astonished at my explanation of what happened last night.
"She was bleeding and I cleaned her wound. That's all. Then I went to the hospital with her. I know that she didn't do that on purpose, but she was only wearing a bra, and she called me, not you. I mean… you have to tell her to stop, Aria." Aria sighs and takes another sip of coffee.
She leaves the cup of coffee on the table and then raises her head to look at me.
"Do you really want to?"
"Are you kidding me? What are you trying to say?" I add annoyingly.
"You two have history, Em. I know you're dating her, but…" I interrupt her before she says something more hurtful.
"Don't say that, Aria. I'm not just dating her, I'm in love with Paige. Do you get it?" I take a deep breath and I continue speaking as Aria stares at me. "I know that Lucy was a very important person in my life a few years ago, but that's in the past. And I'd really appreciate if you talked to Lucy, because I'm getting tired of it and Paige is not dumb either."
"I'm sorry," Aria adds. I can sense that she's really sorry about it, so I hold her hand and she looks at me. "I just want you to be happy, Em. I'm really sorry."
"It's okay. I just want to be with Paige, you know?"
"Yeah, she's rich. I get it," she jokes, making me laugh. "Now, if you'd excuse me, I have to go pee," she says grinning at me.
"Go, asshole." She smiles at me. Right before she leaves to the bathroom my cellphone rings.
"Good morning, honey," I add with a huge grin on my mouth.
"You're in a good mood. Where are you?"
"I'm having breakfast with Aria, because my lousy girlfriend abandoned me, AGAIN!" She laughs at my comment. "What do you have to say about that?"
"I think your girlfriend is the coolest person on Earth." We both laugh. "I needed to talk to Jack, that's all. I said that I'd call you and I did, didn't I?"
"You're right, but… I want to see you. Where are you?"
"At the dorm. I'm about to shower, I need it," she jokes. Just thinking about it makes my heart pound.
"Can I join you?" I hear she's laughing nervously at the other end of the line. Even if I can't see her, I know she's blushing, and that makes me want to see her and kiss her even more.
"I don't know what to say to that." She's nervous, I can feel it. "You have to go class, right?" I love when she is so shy and tries to switch to another topic. It makes her even hotter, and the best part of it is that she doesn't know it.
"You should go to class too. In fact, it's the same class you should be attending. What do you have to say to that?"
I see Aria approaching and she sits in front of me. She gets her cellphone and starts to type while I am talking to Paige.
"I have stuff to do."
"What kind of stuff? What is more important than being with your girlfriend?" I giggle and I see that Aria is smiling too, although she's not looking at me.
"It's way more important than that," she jokes. "I'll see you later at Hanna's and Spencer's apartment, right?" I stay silence for a few seconds, I don't know what she's talking about. "The party at their apartment, remember?"
"Yes, sure. I didn't know it was tonight. Okay, then. But you'll have to share me with my friends, because they will be there," I say jokingly.
"Darn," she adds with her husky voice.
"See you,"
"I love you." It's the second time today that she tells me that. It's kinda impressive for her to say that knowing how shy she is.
"Me too." I don't want to repeat the same words in front of Aria. I know it's stupid, but I'm a more reserved person than people believe. I hang up with a big grin that I can't wipe off my face.
"Who was that? Lucy?" she jokes.
"Stupid." I throw her a paper napkin roll and we both leave the café to go to class.
Paige's POV
"You're running so slow today. What is wrong with you, Jack?" I ask my friend as I wait for him, totally covered in sweat.
"What about you? Your speed is not normal, Paigey!" he adds panting when he reaches me. I smile and I give him a bottle of water.
"You need it, man." He grabs the bottle and rolls his eyes at me. Then he starts drinking, not leaving even a drop of water inside the bottle.
"You kicked my ass, I admit it. I should do this more often. My body needs it," he adds pointing at his belly. He's a really attractive guy and has a good body considering that he doesn't practice any sport.
"You don't need it, but this is healthier than smoking," I add ironically.
"Don't. I don't need another of your "quit smoking pep talks", please. I'm begging you." He kneels in front of me, hands held high, trying not to laugh.
"Don't be stupid." I slap him on the back of his neck. "Smoking makes you less sexier."
"Said the gay girl," he jokes, making me laugh loudly. "Actually… I'm seeing someone." He avoids my gaze and stares at the floor, waiting for my reaction to her surprising news.
"What?" He looks at me for a brief moment and I can see he is blushing. "And when were you planning to tell me?"
"You didn't tell me about Emily until after a few weeks either." I roll my eyes and he grins at me.
"That was different, Jack. I mean…"
"We've been dating for a few weeks, but I didn't want to tell you until I knew it was something serious, you know." He's still blushing, and that makes him even more adorable.
"That's great, Jack. When will I meet her?" I can see he's happy, he deserves it more than anyone else.
"Maybe we could have lunch. If that's okay with you," he adds shyly.
"I'd love that." We continue walking until I see the dorms building and it's time to say goodbye. "Well, text me about lunch later, okay? I need a shower asap."
"Me too," he adds pointing at his t-shirt. "By the way, how are things with 'the other'?" he asks referring to Lucy.
"I'm starting to hate her. But… I don't want to talk about that, okay? See you later, Jack!" He waves at me and we both head to our rooms. I have a feeling that today is going to be a great day.
Emily's POV
I take out some sheets and pens and I put them on the desk, waiting for the beginning of the class. I hate it when teachers get late to class, because that means that I could enjoy those minutes being in bed instead of here. Besides, I always sit alone in this class because I don't know anybody. Now that I think about it, I prefer it that way so I can take notes, because this subject is really tough. I hate Physics.
"Is this seat taken, gorgeous?" I recognize that voice and her perfume. He sits next to me and I can't help but hug her. She smells great. I look around and people are looking at us, they obviously don't understand my excitement. "It seems like you haven't seen me in a year, Em. Calm down," she jokes.
"I didn't expect you here, even if you should be here, because you're a student," I add making her smile. "What are you doing here? God, I feel stupid asking that question." She smiles even more, showing her perfect teeth. Mr. Green finally enters the classroom and start speaking.
"You wanted to see me, right? So here I am." I grin at her, she's full of surprises. Then she grabs a paper sheet and a pen from my bag and starts listening to the bald man who is talking about particles and other stuff that I don't get. Every student, me included, starts taking notes at full speed. Suddenly Paige takes a huge book from her bag and starts reading it. She doesn't make an effort to pay attention at the class. She could spend hours reading huge books about weird things. I mean, Aria reads a lot, but not the same books that Paige loves. I haven't paid attention to the books she reads, but it seems like the type of books I wouldn't read.
"What are you doing? " I ask while I continue taking notes.
"Read," she answers pointing at the book with a huge smile on her face.
"You're incredible."
"You're right, my dear."
A guffaw escapes from my mouth. The boy that's sitting behind us puffs and other two girls that are sitting right next to Paige tells us to shush.
"I'm sorry," Paige tells them, apologizing for my behavior, although she didn't do anything wrong.
"Is something wrong with you, lady?" Mr. Green asks looking at us.
After a few seconds of silence Paige speaks again.
"I'm sorry, sir. It wasn't my intention to bother you. I apologize," she adds almost stuttering. I should have said something. It was me who made that noise, not her. She's blushing and very nervous, I can feel it.
"It's been five minutes since I started the class and I realized that you had no interest in being here. So, what are you doing here?" he adds, raising his voice.
"I'm really sorry, sir. I wasn't…"
"If you don't want to come, that's up to you. You know where the door is. We are not children anymore." I look at Paige and it seems like she is so in shock that she's not even breathing. "Or maybe I'm wrong… and you already know everything that I was trying to explain. That's possible too, right?" the teacher adds cockily. I can't believe I got her into this. Paige doesn't say a word. "Okay, let's see if you are so clever…" He wants to humiliate her, and I'm the one to blame. "So… how many Newton's laws are there, lady?"
Every person in the classroom is staring at Paige, waiting for her to say something, but she's still in shock. The teacher has a wide smile on his face, like he feels he's doing something remarkable. Suddenly Paige turns her head to the left, she looks me in the eye, I put my hand on her knee, she takes a deep breath and finally gets the courage to open her mouth.
"Three." I can barely hear her voice.
"Excuse me, lady?" the bald man emphasizes.
"There are three of them, sir."
"Impressive," he adds ironically. Is there anything else you want to add?"
She takes a deep breath and continues speaking, trying to make her point.
"The first one says that an object either is at rest or moves at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force. The second law estimates that the acceleration of a body is directly proportional to, and in the same direction as, the net force acting on the body, and inversely proportional to its mass.
And the last one states that when one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body." She takes a deep breath again and continues with her speech. "Those three laws were first published in 1687 and Newton showed that these laws of motion combined with his law of universal gravitation, explained Kepler's laws of planetary motion." The silence invades the room after Paige's incredible response. I didn't understand anything she said, but I'm pretty sure the teacher didn't see it coming. All of a sudden the teacher starts laughing loudly. Paige is blushing and I guess that a little bit scared of his reaction, because she doesn't like the attention he's giving her.
"Okay, I have to apologize, young lady. You made my day. Where did you learn all that?" His attitude has changed, he's not angry anymore. At least he apologized after his rudeness.
"I like to read," she adds shyly. All the students start laughing at her response.
"About physics?" The man I'm seeing in front of me is completely different from the cranky teacher I've known since I started attending his classes. It's really good to see that he's a human being after all and that my girlfriend is the reason why he's acting so normal.
"About everything." He laughs again. I look at her and she's smiling, but I'm sure that she wants this moment to be over.
"I'd happy if everyone in this room was a little bit like her." Paige flushes again and I can't help but smile widely, because I'm proud of her. "And now…" he continues saying. "… although I'd like to keep speaking with that little Einstein over there, we need to continue with the lesson. So, pay attention, guys." He smiles and starts speaking about particles and things that I don't like. I look at her and she's concentrated on the class, although she doesn't need it.
"That was hot," I whisper in her ear. She gives me that sexy smile that I love so much.
"Could you shut up until the class is over, honey?" she says with a very quiet voice. I grin at her and I stop speaking before this day turns into a nightmare for her.
After class I go to another two classes, but Paige doesn't come with me. After what happened today I don't think she will come to more classes with me (not that I was seeing her too much before today). Then I have lunch with Spencer and Hannah and the last one can't stop talking about the party they're having in their apartment tonight. Hannah is really excited about it, but Spencer is worried about the cleaning they'll have to do after it. That's so Spencer. My afternoon is going to be busy too. My plan is to go the library to study a little bit, then swimming classes, dinner with my friends and the party. Paige told me that we will meet there, because she has a few things to do in the afternoon. The day goes by fast. I have a nice dinner with my friends and people start to come over to the apartment. I don't know most of the people that are already hanging out at my friend's huge apartment, but they seem to be having fun. I keep looking at the door to see if Paige shows up. Instead I see Lucy waving at us excitedly. I roll my eyes and Hanna notices, because she gives me a weird look.
"I thought you were friends," she adds frowning at me. "What happened, Em?"
"It's nothing. Long story," I answer, trying to avoid the conversation. Besides, what can I say to explain that mess without involving Paige?
"Spencer needs your help," I tell her when I see Spence shouting at her for help.
"We'll continue this conversation later," she adds. Saved by the bell.
Aria approaches me with a beer in hand and at the same time the door opens and I see my beautiful girlfriend entering the apartment.
"You should stop looking at her like that if you want to keep it a secret," she jokes when she sees the "dumb face" I must have at this moment. I look to my right and I see that Lucy is staring at me.
"Did you do what I asked you to do? You know…" Aria nods at me, but she doesn't say a word. "And?" I ask impatiently.
"There's nothing I can do about that. I don't think she will change her attitude towards you." It's the answer I didn't want to hear. I see Hanna approaching us and we both stop talking.
"What were you talking about? It seemed something serious. Some secret I don't know about? Maybe your boyfriend, Em?" she asks grinning at me. It doesn't seem like she forgets about that, and I'm not in the mood for that kind of conversation right now. "Hey, Paige, can you join us? I have a question for you," Hanna shouts at my girlfriend, even if she's talking to a girl I don't know. Paige turns around to look at us and Aria looks at me nervously. "Come on, it's just a question," she insists.
"Hi," she adds shyly after looking at me. "Thank you for inviting me, this is great."
"It's cute you're always so polite, Paige," Hannah adds smiling at her. "So… we were talking about Emily and her new love interest. Do you know anything about that?" I see that her face is suddenly redder than a tomato.
"No," she adds briefly. She couldn't be more obvious.
"That sounded like you know something." Hannah receives a little nudge from Aria, but I don't think that will work.
"I'm sorry, but they're waiting for me. I'll see you later, okay?" Paige excuses her, avoiding the awkward conversation. She joins that girl and Jack again and takes a long sip from the beer bottle.
Aria changes the subject and I can finally breathe. I sense my phone beeping and I take it from my bag. I smile when I read the text.
I love you, but if you don't stop Hanna, I will kill her with my bare hands and dump her in a lake or somewhere remote.
"That was him, right?" I look daggers at her. "Okay, I will stop. But I want to be the first to know, okay?" I nod at her so that she leaves me alone, although that's literally impossible.
Paige's POV
Jane is really nice, so I'm really happy for Jack. I am not someone who likes to get to know new people, but in this case it was really nice. I don't like parties at all, but tonight I'm having fun with them, although I'd like to be with my girlfriend too. She seems occupied with Hanna's interrogatory, so I'll spend some time with her later. My phone beeps. I smile, that must be Emily. I grab it and I take a look to the text message.
"I'm waiting outside the house. I need to talk to you. It's really important."
This is not good news. Knowing her, the words she uses, this can only mean one thing: Big problem ahead.
To be continued…
I love reviews. :D Suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your support, guys. I really appreciate your words. You're awesome. :)
Be patient. ;)
Spoiler alert: Huge changes are coming from now on. :)
