SCENE: TWINS BORN
June 13, Saturday
Phoebe gives birth prematurely to twins. The girl is named Charlotte Leigh (Lottie) and the boy is named Riley Aiken (Riley)
The Halliwells are having a family dinner when Phoebe starts to go into labor (at 6½ months pregnant). Everyone rushes to the hospital. Riley, who is an empath from birth, is not born crying (because the joy of the occasion infiltrates his psyche, even at that age). He is gurgling pleasantly, even smiling.
That night, Piper and Paige sneak back into the hospital after visiting hours and use healing magic on the twins. Paige orbs herself and Piper into the neonatal unit and Piper freezes the security cameras in order to act without anyone seeing them.
Usually, they leave natural problems to natural medicines, but because of the risks involved in a premature birth, they don't want to take any chances. Nothing is more important than family.
Paige: "Piper, I don't know if it will work. There's nothing specifically wrong with them other than not being full-term."
Piper: "It's just to help give their immune systems an extra boost. They can use all the help they can get."

SCENE: EPIPHANY
June 29, Monday
Jake gets hit by a car and ends up hospitalized.
Jake gets hit by a car. It all happened too fast for him to think about calling for Chris's help, so Jake ends up hospitalized instead. Carmen sits beside his bed, wracked with guilt, even after she finds out he'll survive.
Carmen: "My son, the only person I truly have in my life, nearly died. And he would have died hating me. He deserves better than this."
June 30, Tuesday
Chris visits Jake in the hospital. Carmen decides to check herself into an in-patient rehab clinic.
When Chris finds out that Jake is in the hospital, he's stunned. He realizes that, as a future whitelighter, Jake is destined to die young, but the thought never really sank in before. Chris: "Surely he's not meant to die this young."
He goes to visit Jake in the hospital. When he peeks inside the room, he sees Carmen. He doesn't want her to recognize him, so he glamours into a doctor before entering.
Carmen looks exhausted, but she looks up when the doctor/Chris walks in. He can tell she's been crying, eyes rimmed with red. "I have an alcohol problem," she admits, the first time she's said it aloud. "I'm thinking about rehab."
For the first time, Chris smiles at Jake's mom. He offers her a bottle of diet coke, a peace offering.
Carmen is holding Jake's hand when he wakes up for the first time.
Jake (voice hoarse): "Hi, Mommy."
Carmen: "Oh, baby, I am so, so sorry."
Jake: "S'ok."
