Charlie stretched and opened her eyes trying to blink away the last remnants of sleep. She had stayed at the dorms with Elena and Caroline last night. They tried to jog her memory by telling her a little bit more about her life, but nothing was clicking. No flashback, no remembering... nothing. Not even a piece of a memory. Everything was still blank and she was starting to get frustrated.

She wanted to remember the things her friends were telling her about. It sounded like they were really good friends and had fun times together, but nothing was coming back to her.

She especially wanted to remember Enzo. She could see how she would have been attracted to him. He's obviously gorgeous, and she could get lost staring into his eyes, but she couldn't remember anything about him and she really wanted to.

There had to be something to help bring her memories back, but she would have no idea where to start. Caroline suggested using a witch, but they weren't close enough to any witch to trust them to help.

She dragged herself out of bed and got dressed for the day. She had places to go and people to see, she couldn't dwell on her lost memories right now.

Even though she couldn't remember them, she knew that she loved her brothers and her friends, so she would help them any way she could. She could feel the connection she shared with everyone, she just couldn't... remember them. If that makes sense. Which it probably doesn't because it just seemed like nothing made sense anymore.

So she left the dorms and went to meet Stefan, Matt, and Enzo to interrogate Tripp. Now that sounded like fun to her.

Tripp's Shed

"Hello again." Enzo said as Tripp was waking up. "That was quite a mess you made at the border last night. Hit-and-run. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Good thing Matt here was in the neighborhood to give you a ride home."

"You brought me here?" Tripp asked Matt, feeling betrayed.

"You went after my friends. What'd you expect?" Matt asked.

"Your friends who kill people." Tripp snapped.

"If you want to get technical," Charlie spoke up. "Vampires are people too. Given they're dead people, but people nonetheless. And since you kill vampires... doesn't that make you a bit of a hypocrite?"

"Who are you?" Tripp asked her but Enzo answered.

"This beauty right here," Enzo gestured to Charlie. "Is not only Stefan's sister, but also my girlfriend, and Matt's friend. She also happens to be a bit vengeful and even more dangerous than I am when you've hurt someone she loves. I'd be nice to her if I were you."

Enzo had no problem calling Charlie his girlfriend because that's what she was. Her not remembering him didn't change that fact and he took every opportunity he could to say it out loud. He thought, maybe if he repeated it enough it would trigger a memory in Charlie.

Charlie felt flattered by what Enzo said. Not only did he call her beautiful, but he talked as if he wasn't ashamed and was proud of who she was as a person. He made her sound dangerous, yet loyal. That made her happy. She had to smirk a little though because she knew Enzo was doing it on purpose, but it still made her smile.

"Alright, Enzo." Stefan said, not wanting to hear Enzo flirt with his sister. "Ask him what you want to know. Let's get this over with."

Enzo stood behind Tripp. "Stefan has already made a very passionate argument in favor of snapping your neck. Whereas, in a surprising role reversal, I've opted for the 'let's think this through, get all the information before we kill him' method."

"Don't be a dick." Matt snapped. "You know, you can dry the vervain out of him, compel him to forget everything, and he'll never set foot in Mystic Falls again."

"You don't really think he's a one-man vampire busting operation, do you?" Enzo asked. "Look, while Tripp tortured me for the names of your friends, I had a front-row seat to quite a few urgent phone calls and visits from mysterious right hand men. Many of whom were wearing uniforms not dissimilar to the one you've been traipsing around in." Enzo then came to stand in front of Tripp. "I'd just like to know what they're up to while he's here with us."

Stefan, tired of waiting, grabbed a hammer and smashed Tripp's left hand with it causing him to yell out in pain and spill some information. "Aah! They're doing the same thing they were when they were with me. They're tracking vampires like your friend Caroline Forbes."

Stefan thought for a moment then decided, "Take two hours, get the names of his men and what they know. After that, he's a liability. Get rid of him." He said then began to walk out with Matt following. When Charlie didn't follow, he asked, "Charlie, are you coming?"

"Yeah. I'll be there in a second."

Stefan nodded, hesitated a moment, but then left.

"Why do I have the feeling that there's a lot of tension between you and Stefan because of something you're not telling me about?" Charlie asked Enzo.

Enzo smiled. "Beauty and brains, one of the things I love about you."

"Enzo." Charlie said, wanting to know what was going on.

Enzo sighed. "Okay, well, as you know, Stefan is the reason Buffy over here captured me." He gestured to Tripp. "But, um, let's just say that it's not the first time I've been... in danger, because of Stefan."

"But if I loved you then why would he do that?" Charlie asked confused.

Enzo wouldn't admit how much it hurt to hear Charlie say, 'if' she loved him. But he would ignore that for now. As much as he wanted to, he didn't want to taint Charlie's image of Stefan. He figured Stefan would do that on his own anyway, but he didn't want to strain the relationship between her and her brother when she just got back. He wanted her to figure it out on her own or Stefan could tell her. Well, what he wanted was for her to remember, but that was a whole different story.

"It's a long and complicated story. But as for this time... Stefan was really lost after you and Damon died. I mean you were the only family he had and he lost you both so suddenly... I think that's a reason why he did what he did."

Charlie thought for a moment. "Alright, I'm already starting to get confused. You'll have to tell me more about it later."

"Wait, where are you going?" Enzo asked, not wanting her to leave.

"I just, uh, have plans with Elena." Charlie said. Before Enzo could question her more, she took off.

Enzo wanted to follow her, but he knew he had to get the information he could from Tripp. Finding out what Tripp knows is the thing that would keep Charlie safe, and that was his main priority at the moment. So he got to work, because the faster he could get Tripp to tell him what he knew, the faster he could see Charlie again.

Whitmore College

"When do volunteers have access to the patient labs?" Elena asked Liam. He was still hung up on the Lady Whitmore thing and it was starting to worry her.

"Since never. But if you rat me out, you can't be my date to the hospital fundraiser tonight." Liam flirted.

"Oh, um." Elena winced.

"What?" Liam asked, confused.

"I would love to go with you."

"But...?"

"But I kind of already asked my friend to go with me." Elena said.

"Oh." Liam sighed, thinking she was going on a date with a different guy. He thought things were going pretty well between them.

"No, it's not like that." Elena assured him. "It's my friend, Charlie. A girl, Charlie. She's just... she's been going through a lot lately and I thought I would bring her to kind of ya know, get her out and get her mind off of things. And since it was mandatory for us, I knew you were going to be there anyway. And Jo said we could bring a date so I figured I'd ask my friend instead of you, because, well like I said you would already be there." She rambled.

Liam laughed a little bit. "Elena, I get it. We can still call it a date, you'll just... arrive with someone else and we'll meet there. Sound good?"

Elena smiled. "Yeah, that sounds great. Thanks for understanding."

"Yeah, sure. No problem. Is your friend okay?" Liam asked.

"Yeah, she's just..." Elena trailed off.

She was tired of lying to Liam, but she couldn't really tell him that her vampire friend couldn't remember anything after coming back from the dead, so she told him the less detailed version.

"She was in an accident, a little while ago, and she's been struggling with some memory loss. She's been getting frustrated, not being able to remember things. We used to go to dances and town events all the time in high school with our group of friends so I thought, maybe bringing her to something like this might... trigger something but still give her mind a break. I thought going out might give her something else to think about besides the accident and what she can't remember. Ya know?" Elena said.

"I understand. I think it's great you're trying to help you're friend." Liam said.

"Oh, speaking of Charlie..." Elena said, seeing Charlie approach them. "Hey, Charlie."

"Hey. Do you have a dress I can borrow for tonight?" Charlie asked.

"Yeah, no problem. Um, Charlie this is my friend Liam, we work at the hospital together. Liam, this is Charlie, my friend I was telling you about." Elena introduced them.

"Hey, it's nice to meet you." Liam shook Charlie's hand.

"Yeah, you too." Charlie returned.

"Well, Elena, I'll see you tonight." Liam said and kissed her on the cheek. He sent a final wave to Charlie then walked away while the two girls stared after him.

"He's cute." Charlie said and sent a sly look to Elena.

"Yeah. He is." Elena agreed, but still felt a little worried with Liam digging into Lady Whitmore's files.

"So, any memories of Damon pop up yet?" Charlie asked.

"None. What about you?"

"Zilch. Ya know this is getting really frustrating." Charlie sighed.

"I know. But hey, we'll go to this fundraiser tonight and you can forget all about what you've... forgotten?"

The two girls started to laugh at Elena's choice of words. "Okay. I really needed that."

"It'll be fun. You can relax for a little bit, have some champagne, and you never know, maybe you'll trigger something in the back of your mind and you'll remember a memory or an event."

"Yeah, I hope so."

"Come on, we'll have a good time." Elena said. "Now let's go find a dress for you."

"Answer your phone, Enzo!" Caroline yelled into the phone. "I just... I didn't call her today, you know? I always call my mom every Saturday morning, but no. Today I said, 'Screw it. I want to sleep in. I'll do it tomorrow.'" Caroline ranted. She had just heard the news from her mom that Tripp's guys wanted Tripp back or they were going to kill Liz. And they say they're "protecting" people. Pshh, please.

"Well, don't worry. We're almost there." Stefan assured her.

"We're almost there?" Caroline asked. "You said, 'two hours and then kill him.' Do you even remember how long ago you said that? I mean, what kind of person sets a ticking clock without setting his watch?"

Caroline's phone rang with a call from Enzo so she answered it. "Tell me that Tripp is still alive." She demanded.

"Tripp is still alive, surprisingly torture-resistant, but alive." Enzo answered.

"What took you so long to answer your phone?" Caroline snapped.

"My fingers were covered in blood, and the touchscreen wouldn't work, alright? I answered this time, so what did you need?" Enzo asked.

"Just don't kill him, okay? One of his guys took my mom, so just keep your hands off of him so I can get her back, okay? Enzo please." Caroline said and hung up without waiting for an answer.

"I thought I could make the world a better place by getting rid of them," Tripp told Matt from inside the shed. "Teach kids like you to be strong, defend yourselves, but look at you. You're on the wrong side."

"I'm not on the wrong side, man." Matt said. "My side's just really freaking complicated."

"Update." Enzo walked into the shed. "Tripp's henchmen kidnapped the sheriff of Mystic Falls."

"What?" Matt asked.

"It's a contingency plan in case anything ever happened to me." Tripp explained.

"That's your idea of being on the right side?" Matt asked.

"Alright," Enzo said and knelt down to Tripp's level. "Every second I spend here with you is one less second I get to spend with my girl. And for every second that you are keeping me away from her is another second added on to the time it's going to take for me to tear out your insides and make it even more painful. So I suggest you give me a way to get the sheriff back alive, or you and I are going to have a major problem. Got it?" Enzo threatened.

Tripp, frightened, told them what they needed to know in order to get Liz back. "You can set the meet for the edge of the town on Old Miller Road. You can do the trade there. They know they'll be safe behind the border. And send Matt. They trust him."

"Thank you for the wonderful information." Enzo sassed when his cell phone rang again. He punched Tripp once just for the fun of it then answered his phone. "Hello?"

"Do you own a tux?" Damon asked.

"I can get one. Why?" Enzo asked.

"Because Elena is going to this fundraiser for her boss tonight. Figured you could be my date." Damon said.

"Aww. I'm flattered mate. I mean, I like you, but not that much." Enzo said, sarcastically.

"Alright smart ass. I mean that Elena is bringing Charlie. I figured you would want to come with me while I crash this party and get my girl back. Since Charlie's there, you two could talk. But hey, if you're too busy, I understand." Damon said, knowing the second that Damon mentioned Charlie, Enzo would want to go.

Enzo sighed in frustration. "Damn it. I've got to handle this thing with Tripp. I'll wait until Stefan and Caroline get here and then I'll be there. Just make sure Charlie doesn't leave. Oh, and keep the guys away from her. I don't need anyway flirting with my girl."

"Great. See you then." Damon hung up. He knew that if Charlie was going to this fundraiser tonight that Enzo would want to be there.

Enzo was even more anxious to get this over with now. He had a girl to see.

Whitmore Medical Center, Fundraiser

Charlie and Elena walked into the fundraiser, both looking amazing in their dresses. Elena went with a simple black dress. Charlie did as well but her black dress had lacey pattern to it.

"Hey Elena, you look amazing." Liam greeted her. "Charlie, nice to see you again. You look wonderful as well."

"I like this guy." Charlie said. "Feel free to compliment me anytime you want. But in the meantime, I'll be at the bar." She told Elena then walked away.

"She seems like quite the character." Liam said.

"Oh she can be." Elena agreed. "She's also a really great friend. I'm lucky to have her." Elena said, thinking for a moment and really appreciating all that Charlie had done for her in the past.

"Who's that?" Damon asked Alaric and Jo, noticing Elena and some boy from across the room.

"That would be Liam Davis; valedictorian, straight A's freshman year taking junior-level classes, not to mention medical royalty. Not so bad on the eye's either. Looks like he's Elena's date."

"No. Charlie was Elena's date." Damon said back in denial.

"Just because they didn't come here together doesn't mean he's not her date." Jo said back.

"Did I say I liked you? I meant the opposite." Damon sneered.

Tripp's Shed

"It's about time." Enzo said when Caroline and Stefan finally walked in. "I've got places to go, Charlie to see. Let's move this along."

"Wait, where are you going to meet Charlie?" Stefan asked.

"She went to a fundraiser with Elena. Now can we focus please?" Enzo said, hurriedly.

"What did you do to him?" Caroline asked, seeing a passed out Tripp.

"Oh, he's fine. Just a little blood loss. I think he may have an iron deficiency problem."

"Knock it off." Stefan said. "Her mother's life is on the line."

Enzo looked at Stefan. "Hang on. Just so I'm clear. All Caroline had to do to get you to treat her with a modicum of respect, is to stop paying attention to you. Is that how this works?"

"Shut up, Enzo." Caroline snapped while trying to get Tripp free. "And did he really need three chains? I mean, who is this guy, the Hulk?"

"Well, I didn't restrain him." Stefan said.

"No, but you let your sidekick Enzo do it because what could go wrong when you team up with your sworn enemy? I mean, how many times have you tried to kill him and yet here you are working with him. You either like him or you don't. Pick one Stefan." Caroline said, frustrated. But in the process, Enzo saw what she was really feeling.

"Oh, that's brilliant. Of course that's why she hates you." Enzo said. "That's how you worked her her into such a state in Savannah. That's why she told you to go take a leap. She hates you because she doesn't hate you at all." He said to Stefan while Caroline was sending him a look that said, 'shut up.'

"I'm sorry. Are you still talking?" Stefan asked.

"She's got a thing for you, mate." He said then told Caroline. "Tell your mum I send my best. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a girl I need to woo." He said, then left.

Whitmore Fundraiser

Enzo walked into the fundraiser looking extremely dashing in a tux. He cleaned up as fast as he could so that he could get here to Charlie. He glanced around the room and saw her at the bar with what looked like a glass of Scotch. He took a deep breath, and made his way over to her.

"Now what would a gorgeous girl like you be doing sitting here all alone?" Enzo asked as he sat down next to her. He felt a little smug when he saw her take an appreciative once over of his appearance.

"Wow. You clean up pretty well." Charlie said. "I traded my date for a glass of Scotch hoping that Elena would at least talk to Damon. It only took about two hours, but they seem to be getting along just fine." She said, noticing Damon and Elena dancing together.

"So you want them to be together?" Enzo asked.

"I may not remember much, but I can see how miserable Damon is without Elena." She said and downed the rest of her drink.

A slow song started to play over the speakers so Enzo stood up and held his hand out to Charlie. "May I have this dance?"

Charlie stared at his hand before finally giving in and placing her hand in his. She couldn't ignore the sparks she left when their hands touched. He pulled her to the middle of the dance floor and they slow danced in silence for a moment before Charlie asked, "So I'm assuming we've danced before right?"

Enzo smiled. He was told that Elena had filled her in on the fact that Charlie had met him while captured with the Augustines. "Well, we didn't have much time for dancing while in captivity, and there were only a couple times we danced before we were separated again. But there was one time, while we were with the Augustines. We were madly in love." Enzo smirked earning a small smile from Charlie. "You never really liked to go to balls. You thought they were pretentious and fake, but you loved dancing. You told me that when we got out, one of the first things you wanted to do was dance. But I was scared..." Enzo said, admitting something he kept from her while they were trapped, wanting to be strong for her.

"Scared of what?" Charlie asked, as they still slow danced.

"I was scared that we would never get the chance." Enzo admitted while looking into her eyes. "I didn't know what the future held for us. So despite the fact that we were locked away in a dirty cement cell and there was no music... I stood up with you, I held your hand in mine." He tightened his grasp on her hand that he currently held. "You put her hand on my shoulder, and I wrapped my arm around your waist, pulling you close." He whispered and tightened the arm he had around her waist, pulling her flush against his body. "And without music, or dazzling lights, or fancy ballgowns, I danced with you for the very first time... and it was perfect."

By this time, tears had started to collect in Charlie's eyes that had stayed connected with his the entire time. She could practically taste the raw emotion that was pouring out of him and it started to overwhelm her. "Excuse me." She broke away suddenly a walked in a fast pace towards the restrooms, leaving Enzo to stare after her.

He was hoping that dancing with her again, and reminding her of their first dance, would spark something inside of her. It obviously did something to her. He had noticed the tears in her eyes and he hoped they weren't because she was sad, but because she was starting to feel something for him. He walked over to the bar and ordered a drink while he waited for her. He noticed Damon and Elena leave and he hoped that things were working out for them. He hated to see his friend so upset.

He sat there for another five minutes before Charlie emerged from the restrooms. Her eyes still looked a little red and he began to worry that she was crying because she was upset or sad, and that was the last thing he wanted to do. He just wanted to spark a memory in her, not make her cry.

"Hey, are you alright? Look, I didn't mean-" Enzo started to say when Charlie walked up to him but she interrupted him.

"Take me to the last place we were together." She said.

"What do you mean?" Enzo asked confused.

"Take me to the last place were you and I were both there." Charlie said. "I want to remember you. I want to remember everything, and I just... something has to trigger the memories. So... take me to the last place I saw you."

"Of course." Enzo said and stood. "Anything you need me to do, I'm here alright?" When Charlie smiled in thanks at him, he took her hand and led her to the place where she saw him for the last time.

Cemetery

Enzo led them through the cemetery until they came upon a very ordinary looking tree. Charlie looked around, confused. "This was where we last saw each other?"

"Well, no. The last time we saw each other and we were happy was back at the Boarding House. But that's inside the border so we can't really go there. So I decided to take you to the last place that you saw me." Enzo said and walked closer to the tree, pulling her with him. "I came back from the Other Side with the help of Bonnie, excited and anxious to be with my girl again, only to find out that you were on the Other Side because you died in a planned explosion with the Travelers. You didn't tell me or want anyone else to tell me, because you didn't want me to miss my chance to live.

"And then I learned that... the spell stopped while you were still on the Other Side. And there was no way to get you back. So I walked away from everyone else to be alone, and I fell down next to this tree. I was just sitting there when I felt you there with me. People on the Other Side still had a foothold in this world, so I could sense you and kind of feel your touch, but I couldn't see or hear you. That was when it all started to sink in." Enzo said sitting down in the same spot as Charlie sat next to him. Enzo looked off into the distance, remembering what happened while he explained it.

"It felt like I was dying inside. Like my heart was being ripped from my chest. I just sat here while I assumed you were talking to me. I begged you not to leave me, even though I knew it wasn't your fault. I told you that I loved you. Then I felt you kiss my forehead... and that was it. The only thing I could do was sit there as I felt your hand slip out of mine. And then when Bonnie disappeared with the Other Side... I knew you were gone. There was nothing I could do. You were here one minute and then the next you just... weren't. I felt numb.

"I didn't have you anymore. I didn't have the one person who knew me better than anyone ever did or will. I didn't have the one thing that kept me alive and sane throughout the 50 years that I was trapped with the Augustines. But then I remembered, that while I was with the Augustines I had hope. Hope and determination to get back to you again. So I focused on that. And for the next four months, I fought to keep it together, because I knew I would get you back one day. Then that day finally came and... you didn't remember me. I felt my heart break all over again." Enzo finished talking while staring out into the distance with tears collecting in his eyes from remembering the pain he felt. He looked over at Charlie to see a few tears of her own falling down her face. Without thinking, he brought his hand up to brush them away. He was extremely glad when she didn't pull away from him, so he gently cupped her cheek in his hand, happy to just be close to her again.

"I wish I could remember you." Charlie whispered. She could see how broken he was because she couldn't remember him, and she wanted nothing more in that moment than to just, remember. She looked at him and she saw a man who loved her with everything he had, and she hated the fact that she couldn't remember her feelings that she felt for him. Somewhere, in the far back of her mind, she knew that she loved the man in front of her but she just... couldn't feel it. And she hated that.

"I wish you could remember me, too." Enzo whispered back before gently placing his forehead against hers.

"Why didn't I tell you about the plan to die with the Travelers?" Charlie asked, still confused about that.

"You said that you wanted me to have my chance to live. That I had been trapped for so long with the Augustines, you didn't want me to give up my chance to be free while waiting for you." Enzo explained, then he remembered why he knew all of that. He pulled away just a bit and smiled at her. "But I know someone who could explain it a lot better than I could?"

"Who?" She asked confused.

"You."

Enzo brought Charlie back to his place so he could show her the video she left him before she died. He sat down on the couch with her and set up the video through the TV so it was on a bigger screen.

"What is this?" Charlie asked.

"This is the video that you left me. You explained why you were helping blow up the travelers and you... well, just watch." He told her and then hit play.

"Hey, Enzo." She saw herself talking to Enzo and honestly it was a little weird since she didn't remember saying any of this. "Um, if you're watching this, then you came back from the Other Side... and I didn't.

"I want you to know why I didn't tell you..." Charlie kept on watching while herself explained to Enzo why she was dying with Damon in order to get rid of the Travelers.

Enzo felt a mix of emotions. The last time he saw this video, he was alone and Charlie was dead. Now, Charlie was alive, but in a way he still felt alone because she didn't remember him. He was happy, ecstatic even that she was just alive, but his heart still broke thinking about how things would be right now if she knew him.

"But you have to know how much I love you, Enzo." It was strange for Charlie to see herself express such emotions that she obviously felt at one time, but that she couldn't feel now.

"You have no idea how much your love has meant to me. How happy I am to be loved by you. How grateful I am that you came into my life when you did. I wish more than anything that we had more time together, but to be honest I don't think any amount of time would be enough. We could spend the rest of eternity together and I'd still want more time..."

Enzo looked over and saw Charlie's eyes begin to fill with tears again. He wanted to know what she was feeling, but he didn't want to interrupt this moment.

"And wherever you are, know that Charlotte Salvatore loves you with everything she has..."

A whole range of emotions began to surface in Charlie. She felt sad, angry, happy, frustrated... no one feeling could pinpoint how she felt right now.

"I love you, Enzo."

Charlie watched the screen go blank and broke down in tears. Enzo didn't know why, but he knew he needed to comfort her. So he wrapped his arms around her shaking frame and let her cry into his chest.

Several minutes passed before Charlie was finally able to pull herself together. But once the tears were gone, anger filled that space. She stood up angrily and began to pace back and forth.

"Charlie..." Enzo said, worried about her sudden change.

"Are you trying to make me feel bad?" Charlie asked.

"What?" Enzo asked, confused.

"I mean, I don't know what you want me to do. I get it. You love me. That's great. And apparently I loved you too, but I just... I don't remember! And it frustrates me because here you are, this amazing guy that would obviously do anything for me and who clearly loves me beyond words and I can't remember it." Charlie ran her fingers through her hair.

"I can't remember meeting you, or falling in love with you, or losing you and then finding you and then losing you again. And I can't remember how I felt when I made that video. But it's obviously me so I had to have felt that way and I can't..." Charlie finally broke and began crying again, unable to stop the tears.

Enzo stood up and wrapped her in his arms again. He didn't want this. He didn't want her to cry, he just wanted her to know how she felt. He wanted her to hear it from herself and not from someone else and he felt terrible for doing this to her.

"Charlie, I'm so sorry." Enzo whispered.

"No, that's not it." Charlie said and pulled away from him again. "Because it 's not the fact that I can't remember, and it's not the fact that you showed me that video. It's because you're standing here, obviously in love with me, and I don't feel the same way. And I hate that because I did love you at one point but I just don't remember it.

"I see the way you look at me... and it kills me. I see the longing gaze and the loving stares, but I also see the pain and the heartache because you know that I don't remember you." Charlie said, broken and tearful. "And I'm so sorry for that. I'm trying to remember, but no matter how hard I try... I get nothing. No memory, no flashback, no sudden remembrance of who anyone is and I just... I'm sorry."

"Charlie, listen to me." Enzo said gently and cradled her face between his hands. "Don't ever feel sorry for not remembering me, because it's not your fault. And I know that. I know your frustrated and angry because you can't remember. But so what? You don't remember and that's okay. Even if you never get your memories back, it's alright. We'll make new ones."

Charlie stared into the eyes of the man she once loved but couldn't remember. "Promise?"

Enzo smiled at her. "I promise."

Charlie smiled back and wrapped her arms around Enzo's neck in a hug. "I'm starting to see why I fell for you the first time." She laughed.

Enzo laughed as well and placed a kiss on the top of her head. "Like I said, you fell in love with me once. I bet I could get you to fall for me again."

They stood there for a few moments in silence. Enzo loved being able to hold her in his arms. It may not be the same as if she would remember him, but it was a start.

Charlie looked behind Enzo and saw the picture that was sitting on the side table of the two of them. They were gazing at each other in such... love and adoration. She wanted to remember that feeling.

But how?
