(A/N: What am I even doing with my life? Why did I write that last chappy? Why did I end it like that? I still haven't resolved the whole Amanda thing. Wait-I have… something. Kailee's parents…. Yes, yes. This will do nicely…. What are their names again? Kate and Jerry! That's it! Oh! Ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod.

Can I please be struck by lightning, please? Anything to get out of this situation and stop sliming myself whenever Kurt so much as grabs my hand? I would take the Danger Room on any day, or-or heck! I'd clean the entire mansion by myself with a toothbrush if it meant that I didn't have to do this! I'd eat a dozen of Kitty's horrible cookies or-let Carrie dye my hair some whacky color or-or-or heck! I'd even hug Pietro! Can the world just swallow me whole, like right now? Because that would just be wonderful.

'Miss Michaels,' a voice echoed in my mind and I heaved a sigh of relief.

'Yes, Professor?' I replied back, my arm detaching itself with a sickening pop. Frowning, I calmly took the limb from Kurt's grasp as he apologized before reattaching it. 'I know that you are rather… preoccupied at the moment. But there are some guests at the door for you.' Guests? What guests? I have no guests. No one visits me. Who is that? Who could that be? Did I order something off the internet? No…. Do I happen to have a pen pal from Uganda? No… no, I don't think that's it.

'What visitors?' I questioned.

'Your parents.'

"WHAT?!" I shouted, causing the blue teleporter to let out a shocked yelp and jump back. I winced and gave him an apologetic smile as he rubbed his ears. I mean hey, he was like right there and stuff. Have you ever had someone scream directly by your ear? It hurts, I'm sure it does. I mean, it's not like I meant to hurt him or anything but you gotta understand the situation I'm in right now. My parents-my mutant hating parents-are at the institute-AKA a school for MUTANTS-and I'm here, and I am a mutant-one of the things they hate.

"Mom, Dad… what are you guys doing here?" I asked nervously, standing before the two proper adults. They were the run of the mill business type, what with their suits and their fancy pens and stuff. Both were brunette, with sharp eyes. My mom was fair skinned, with high cheekbones and green eyes. Whereas my dad was relatively tanned and had a straight nose. There were only really… a few words to describe these two…. Strict, no nonsense, void of any emotion aside from contempt-although maybe I was exaggerating… maybe.

Mom turned away from inspecting the area and fixed me with a cold stare, "Your Grandmother told us that you and Connor were enrolled in this school. Is this correct?" I nodded, nearly shivering as her gaze seemed to burn right on through me. You see my mother has this thing, so long as she looked at you, you couldn't lie to her. It's so nerve-wracking I swear. I could never get near our cookie jar. "What exactly are you learning here?"

… "Things." I said, somehow managing not to stumbled on my words. She quirked an eyebrow at my statement. "Science… weather… extreme physical education." Okay so, yeah, I learned these things from my time here. With Mr. McCoy, Ms. Munroe, and Logan. SO I wasn't TECHNICALLY lying.

I don't think she bought it… no, nope. I just hope that Dad doesn't-

"Kailee Gertrude Michaels."

Annnnnnnnnd there it is.

A weird, prolonged, squeak escaped my lips and I looked over towards the Professor. I watched as he nodded and with that I fell to my knees and threw my hands into the air, clasping them together.

"Kailee, what are you-"

"I!" I shouted, cutting my mom's question off mid-way before I continued. "I, am a mutant!"

"How… how long have you…"

"A… a few months." I said, dropping my hands to my sides. My hand went over to my inducer and I fiddled with it, my skin turning into its dark gray glory once I did so.

"Kailee-"

"NO!" I hissed, still on my knees. "You guys are going to listen for once! I have been a mutant for a while now, and during this time I've done more than I ever have in fifteen years! I made friends!" I gestured over my shoulder towards Kitty, Rogue, and Kurt. "I've had my first kiss… and then I kicked him in the crotch! I survived having a whole freaking building collapse on me! And I have had sooo many awkward moments that it's just a bit too much. I mean-every day it's so much awkward! And-and you know what? I loved every single second of it. So… I am a mutant, and proud!"

"Get up." Dad sighed and I obeyed, scratching my neck awkwardly. He walked up to me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "I'm…. I'm proud of you, Kailee."

"What?" I blinked.

"It takes guts to stand up to someone."

"You mean stupidity."

"Kailee."

"I'm just saying."

"That and we kind of knew you were…"

"Weird?" I supplied.

"Special." Mom smiled.

"Huh, so uh… this turned out… exactly the opposite of what I thought it would."

"Why don't you introduce us to your friends?"

"Right uh, those are Kitty Pryde, Rogue, and uh Kurt." I blushed lightly, thankful for the dark skin as my eyes darted around the room.

Dad seemed to catch that and he smirked, "Is he your boy-" (A/N: Am I the only one whose Dad does this? Like whenever I introduce him to my guy friends he just get this look on his face like, 'Hah, yeah. Friend.' Then he proceeds to threaten them with his eyes and stuff and… I just. Dads…)

"Oh! HeylookatthetimeIgottaslime!" I suddenly yelped, melting into a puddle much to my parents' astonishment. I dashed down a hall.

(A/N: Welp! I'm off! I'm sick and I'm tired and I wanna sleep but I gotta do things and adafvasfsfdhfuhahnjksdhnnabhjdshbdhb. Bye.)
