Well...hello there. Once again, this update came much later than I wanted. Long story short, I have started a new job, so obviously that is my main focus right now. I'm not going to promise updates on certain days anymore, because obviously that's not fair to you all when I don't follow through. But know I am not anywhere near to being finished with this, and I am aiming for another 10-15 chapters at least. So enjoy, and please be patient for the next update. Thanks so much for sticking with me and for being so enthusiastic about this story.

"Hey Martinez, I'm finished with those reports from yesterday. Anything else you need me to do, or can I head home?"

Jane peered around the doorframe into Martinez's office. He looked up from whatever he was working on and rubbed his eyes. He motioned for Jane to bring him the reports that she was holding in her hands and she complied, taking a few strides into the room so she could hand them over. Martinez glanced over them quickly and placed them on the corner of his desk.

"Thanks Rizzoli. That should be it for today. Head on home to your wife and kids." He gave Jane a tired grin. "You ready for another undercover buy tomorrow night?"

Since Jane had been promoted to detective, Martinez had been utilizing the fact that a woman worked in the unit to pose as a couple for undercover drug buys in clubs and bars. Jane didn't like it since it usually meant a night away from her family, but since they started it a few weeks ago, they had been fairly successful at it.

"Aw man…you mean I gotta pose as your wife again?" Jane feigned annoyance to poke some fun at her boss. "I'm surprised people believe that we're actually a couple. You're definitely not my type."

Martinez laughed. "And for that…Maura thanks me, I'm sure." He leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms above his head. "I know it's another night away from your family, but if you're game, we have a good lead at a club a few blocks from the one last week."

Jane nodded. "Yeah…sure. I'm game. I'll mention it to Maura when I get home, but it shouldn't be a problem. Might as well do as many of them as we can in the next couple of weeks before Maura's maternity leave is up."

"Right." Martinez straightened a few papers on his desk and turned his gaze to his computer. "Why don't you come in tomorrow afternoon, and we'll prep for the assignment before heading out around 8pm."

"Sounds good." Jane turned to head out of the office, but stopped in the doorway when she remembered something else. "Oh…hey, I almost forgot. You remember how I made Yolanda my CI?"

Martinez nodded but didn't look away from the computer screen.

"Well, I was thinking we could maybe use her in some undercover buys. She's lived her whole life in her neighborhood and really seems to know what's going on behind the scenes over there." Jane nervously chewed on her cheek as she waited for Martinez to respond. After a few seconds, he stopped typing and turned to face her again.

"Jane, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but she's been your CI for what…two weeks?" Jane shrugged in reply, and Martinez continued. "Look, I know having a CI is an extremely valuable asset as a detective, but I think it might be too much too soon to be planning undercover buys with your brand new CI."

Jane nodded, trying to conceal the disappointment that was written all over her face. She failed, and Martinez sighed loudly before giving her a sympathetic smile.

"Jane…I'm not shutting the idea down totally, I just don't think that we should be pushing this so soon. Bring it up again in a few weeks and we can see where we stand then." Martinez rubbed his eyes again and returned his attention to his computer.

"Sure thing boss. Hey, you have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon." Jane gave a small wave and backed out of the office. Once she was out of earshot, she let out a frustrated sigh and headed to her desk to get her things together.

"I mean…come on. He's gotta trust me at some point…right?" Jane said grumpily, putting her glass of water down a little too hard so that some water splashed out onto the table. "I'm a detective now." She stabbed her fork viciously at a piece of chicken on her plate, and looked up at Maura, who was eyeing her with a small smile on her face. Jane's shoulders slumped in defeat and she leaned back in her chair and rubbed her face. "I'm sorry. I haven't shut up about this since I got home, huh?"

Maura placed the empty bottle that Tessa had just finished on the table and shifted the baby to her shoulder to burp her. "It's okay Jane. I don't mind. It makes me miss going to work with you." She started to gently pat the baby's back and gave Jane another reassuring smile.

Jane leaned across the table to cut up some more pieces of chicken for Jack. "You know…when you come back from maternity leave, you and I will probably be working together more closely. Now that I have cases to build and stuff. Maybe not as much as if I was working in homicide, but still…" She shrugged and took another bite of her food.

"That's true. I didn't think of that." Maura replied. Tessa let out a lusty burp, which caused Jack to giggle. Maura smiled and kissed the little girl's head before bringing her down to cradle in her arms again. "I can't believe that I only have one more month of maternity leave left. It seems like it is going by too fast."

Jane put her fork down and grinned at her two favorite girls. "Me either." She watched Maura rock their daughter side-to-side gently for a few seconds. "How did your doctor's appointment go today Maur?"

"It went well. Dr. Keith cleared me to start exercising again." Maura looked over at Jane with an eyebrow raised. "And she cleared me for…other…activities as well." Her expression changed from playful to pointed, and Jane swore she could feel the temperature increase in the dining room.

"She did, huh?" Jane said as calmly as she could manage. "Well, I guess it's lucky that I don't have to be at work until mid-afternoon tomorrow. We can…you know…do some…activities later tonight I suppose." She cleared her throat and took a sip of water. It had been a few months since the two had been intimate, and Jane was certainly eager to break the dry spell.

Maura just smiled in reply, her amusement evident in her eyes, knowing that she had flustered her wife. "That sounds like a great idea." She said nonchalantly. "I look forward to it." She tried not to laugh as Jane blushed across the table.

A few minutes later, the family had finished with their dinner and Jane was playing with Jack and keeping an eye on Tessa in her swing as Maura cleaned up the kitchen. Once she was finished, Maura joined her family, stooping to kiss the top of her wife's head before settling on the couch with her feet curled up underneath her. As Maura watched Jane and Jack happily building a city out of his blocks, she couldn't help but wonder what it was going to be like once she returned to work full-time. She was immensely enjoying her time at home with the children during the day, but Maura was truthfully looking forward to the intellectual stimulation that came with her job as an assistant medical examiner. Looking over at her sleepy daughter, Maura realized that it was going to be extremely difficult to leave her children behind on the day that she would have to return to work.

"Maur? Did you hear me?" Jane's voice brought her out of her thoughts and Maura tore her gaze away from her sleeping daughter to look at her wife.

"I'm sorry…what?"

"I asked you if Jack needs a bath before bed, but it seems like you were too distracted by our insanely adorable little girl." Jane smirked. "Happens to me all the time by the way." She chuckled.

Maura leaned over and kissed Jane on the cheek. "That was precisely what happened. And yes, Mr. Jack needs a bath before bed."

"You heard the boss lady, Jack. Let's head upstairs and get you cleaned up. Stinky boys aren't allowed in this house." Jane scooped the boy up in her arms and tossed him over her shoulder. "Give Mommy a kiss."

With a giggle, Jack complied, placing a smacking wet kiss on Maura's cheek.

"Thank you Jack. That was lovely. I'll be in to tuck you in and read you a story after your bath, okay?" Maura stood from the couch and moved to pick up Tessa. "I have to put your sister to sleep first."

"Okay Mommy!" Jack replied enthusiastically. "Night Tessa!"

Maura watched Jane take off in a run up the stairs with Jack still slung over her shoulder. Both of them were still giggling as they disappeared down the hall.

It didn't take long for Tessa to settle in her crib, and Maura watched her for a few minutes before she was satisfied that the baby was fast asleep. Maura shut off the lights in the nursery and made sure the baby monitor was on, before closing the door quietly and making her way to Jack's room.

Jane and Jack were snuggled up on his bed and they both broke into smiles when they realized Maura was standing in the doorway.

"Come Mommy!" Jack yawned as he held out his favorite book about trucks. "Come read with us."

Jane pulled Jack onto her lap to make some room for Maura, who joined them in the bed and settled in close to her wife. Maura took the offered book and opened it, noting out of the corner of her eye that Jack's eyelids were already drooping, as he got comfortable and snuggled against Jane's chest.

Maura was only a third of the way through the book when Jane nudged her to let her know that Jack was out. Maura shut the book quietly and placed it back on the bookshelf. They both kissed the top of Jack's head and Jane shifted him carefully so that he was lying in his bed. Maura pulled the blankets over the boy and both women leaned down to kiss his forehead before turning off the lights in his room and making a quick exit towards their bedroom.

Jane turned to shut their door and immediately felt arms wrap around her waist from behind. Grinning, she placed her hands over Maura's. Her grin grew wider when she felt Maura's lips first on the side of her neck, then her jaw, and finally behind her ear.

"I miss you when you're gone." Maura whispered.

The feeling of Maura's warm breath on her ear caused shivers down Jane's spine. She turned around so she could face Maura and brought her hands up to cup Maura's face.

"Not as much as I miss you." Jane replied. She studied the familiar lines and contours of her wife's face for a few seconds before leaning in and kissing Maura passionately.

Maura pulled back after a few seconds, breathless and with intensity in her eyes. "Show me."

Jane didn't need any further urging, and tangled her hands in Maura's blonde hair as she leaned in and kissed her hungrily. As they continued to kiss, she steered them in the direction of the bed. Once the back of Maura's knees hit the edge of the bed, Jane lifted the smaller woman up. Maura immediately wrapped her legs around Jane's waist and they stayed like that for a few minutes as they kissed each other, the kisses growing increasingly sloppy as their desire started to reach fever pitch.

Jane broke the kiss and leaned over the bed to put Maura down gently. As soon as Jane deposited Maura on the bed, she straightened up and pulled her t-shirt over her head. She tossed it in the general direction of the laundry basket and when she felt fingers pulling at the waistband of her jeans, she turned back to find Maura's nimble fingers working the button free.

It didn't take long for both women to rid themselves of their clothing, and Jane stood at the end of the bed admiring her stunningly beautiful and scandalously naked wife. Pregnancy had changed Maura's body, but in Jane's opinion, for the better. Where there were once yoga-defined muscles and taut lines, there were now soft curves. But to Jane, knowing that the soft curves were there as a result of Maura carrying their daughter, it only made it more beautiful.

Maura didn't realize Jane was appreciating her after-baby body, and took Jane's hesitation to join her on the bed as a commentary on how she hadn't lost all the baby weight yet. She started to blush and propped herself up on her elbows.

"I…I haven't lost all the baby weight yet. Dr. Keith says it should come off now that I will be resuming my exercise regimen." Maura dropped her eyes, not wanting to look at Jane, who was still lost in her visual exploration of her wife's body.

The bed dipped as Jane joined Maura, immediately positioning herself to hover over Maura's body.

"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." Jane said thickly. "You're so beautiful, it makes my heart ache." She leaned down to kiss Maura tenderly. When she pulled back, she gazed into hazel eyes as she had done so many times. "I want you. I will…always…want…you." Jane emphasized her point with kisses and nips to Maura's jaw and neck.

Maura was immediately breathless under Jane's skilled lips. She caressed the skin at the small of Jane's back for a few seconds before slipping her hands lower.

"I want you too."
