Kiku
Gilberta started bored at the dozing room of dragons. She remained seat having too much energy to fall asleep. Curled up close beside her Mathew slept soundly; she watched him breath calmly in then out in a steady rhythm of sleep. The blonde hair glimmered into the black heavy air around them; briefly her mind flickered back to her own brother. Just like Ludwig use to…
Her eyes fell back to the dark cavern. A soft chuckle broke the silence. Whipping her head around Gilberta stared back into two dark black eyes of a… dog like creature. But it was different; it was smaller and had a shorter bushy tail. The creature stood on its hind legs wrapping a striped tail across its bare black feet. A dark black nose twitched. It blinked then disappeared into the dark of a tunnel. Standing slowly Gilberta shrugged and followed the strange creature. Her footsteps echoed along the clay walls as she followed the striped tail into the maze of tunnels. She barely noticed the tall red gate as she passed by; the dog thingy disappeared into the dense of a forest.
Gilberta slowed down turning back to stared wide eyed at the dark forest surrounding the path she was on; behind her the red gate loomed ominously. Panic filled Gilberta as she looked around walking forward cautiously. Whispers like wind whistled in the dark woods, she glanced out of the corner of her eye spotting figures slipped around in the safety of the woods. Tossing her mane of silver hair Gilberta took on a stronger jaunt pretending to be bigger and stronger than she felt or might be.
"I wouldn't go that way." A voice said.
Gilberta whipped around spotting Kiku as he morphed out of the darkness. He was wearing a long black fabric draped in a way that Gilberta had never seen before. He was wearing dark fabric draped loosely over his frame, kind of like what the Greeks do, Gilberta decided but he had long loose sleeves. This was pulled together in place by a belt over top of another belt. From there it draped down into what Gilberta couldn't decide if it was pants or a fluffy skirt.
Hell what did she care? That was Jeannette's line of work.
"Nice dress?" Gilberta grinned
"It's not a dress, it's a kimono." Kiku frowned as he reached into his sleeve pulling out lantern lighting it as another whisper passed by, "Why are you here?"
Gilberta smirked crossing her arms, "Why are you here?"
Kiku raised an eye brow glancing around, "It's interesting."
"Why are you here Kiku? You sent that doggy thing."
"Tanuki and it's closer to a racoon." Kiku said walking up to Gilberta,
"A what now?"
"Never mind Come, we should talk." Kiku gestured lighting the pitch black path ahead of them
Gilberta stopped; stamping her foot hard on the ground, "We can talk here."
Kiku frowned swinging the lamp over towards Gilberta casting long shadows on the trees, "We can't, there are problems with remaining here, let's go ahead towards to the shrine."
Gilberta looked forward into the darkness frowning as something twitched in the darkness behind Kiku. The whispers were silent now watching and calculating. Still Gilberta refused to move.
Kiku shrugged walking away, "Well then good luck getting out of here."
Swearing loudly Gilberta ran back to the smaller man grabbing him by the back of his collar, "Wait talk to me while we walk."
Kiku grinned, as Gilberta froze her hand melted into the fabric and a strange creature was holding tightly onto her wrist. Gilberta stared up to the red face thing in front of her; two large canines protruding from its jaw; large yellow eyes stared back. Gilberta snarled punching the beast in the face as she turned to bolt away. Suddenly A large snake like figure wrapped around her legs tripping her as Gilberta flew down sprawled over the dirt. Kicking the snake like beast with a woman's face Gilberta wrestled her way up. Suddenly another figure ran past her drawing a glinting blade as the weird monsters dispersed running away. Gilberta slowed turning back to see another Kiku staring with his creepy blank face.
"Hey… thanks but I awesomely had it covered." Gilberta laughed weakly
Kiku didn't say anything, sighing softly, "This way."
Rolling her eyes Gilberta followed the smaller man not even caring anymore.
"So what where those things?"
"The one you punched was an Oni, a monster. The second me was a Kitsune and the others who are still around are various Yokai." Kiku said looking back with his passive brown eyes, he seemed tired as if he had been up for a while Gilberta noted.
"So what are they?"
"Monsters, they wanted to eat. They usually leave dragons alone though; but, I must have drawn their attention to you."
"Why?"
Kiku fell silent for some time eventually saying, "You are different from anything I have ever seen in appearance. And you're watching Mathew-kun as well."
Gilberta snorted laughing loudly, "I'm an awesome albino! Of course you are awesomely drawn to me!"
Kiku had no reply for that, he glanced back shrugging as he continued forward.
"But the matter about Mathew is a serious one." Gilberta said after she had stopped laughing, "What do you know about his situation?"
"He is to do something for the trader, why I don't know, I barely know anything than to be cautious. He's small and weak but he isn't stupid. Some of the things he does are quiet clever."
Gilberta nodded, "He's only a boy though; he must have connection to the Trader."
Kiku nodded, "I wanted to talk to you Gilberta-san; I think we need to exchange information."
From behind a clatter broke the stillness of the air as both people tensed staring back into the looming of the darkness. Gilberta breathed out slowly into the darkness.
"Let's talk soon not now." She said slowly turning her head back to Kiku who was still staring into the gloom.
Kiku met Gilberta's eyes nodding slowly, "Alright we will meet in two nights in the safe room about this time."
Gilberta nodded walking off back toward the chamber pausing ever once as a while to look behind her. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. Growling she made her way back to the room seeing that no one had moved.
