There was panic inside the prison as the word of a possible fight spread like wildfire. Some people wanted to run, others wanted to stay and fight. Either way with only a day to plan they weren't prepared. With Rick trying to keep the peace Shane stepped forward. "Why don't we just hand her over."

"Were not doing that." Rick was quick to snuff that idea.

Ell stayed silent as she sat at the back. She watched all the people she came to care so much about as they scrambled. All because of her. Sure the governor may have picked a fight with them at some point, but the chances are just as good they he would have left them alone if it weren't for her.

After half an hour of bickering Rick told everyone to take an hour, regroup and come back, they would figure it out. Walking to the back of the room Rick took Ell by the arm and led her out of the prison. Where he knew they could be alone. "Are you okay?" He asked when they finally stopped.

"I'm sorry, this is my fault." She had tears in her eyes again.

"No it's not." He tried to reassure her as she hugged her. "Why does he think that's his baby?" Rick asked. Ell stepped back out of his grasp, and he watched as the color drained from her face. There would only be one reason why he would think the baby she was carrying was his. And she'd never said anything to Rick when she got back.

She shook her head, biting her lower lip. He could see the words were on the tip of her tongue but just to painful to say. "No," he half whispered finding it hard to comprehend the whole thing. Putting his hands on his knees he bent over almost stumbling. The thought was to much for him. When he looked up and saw her he stood back up, she started crying, ashamed. Rick put his arms around her holding her as the tears formed in his own eyes.

Later that night a plan was made to send Hershel with those who couldn't fight into the woods to wait it out. While Rick and the others stayed and fought it out. This was their home and they weren't about to give it up without one hell of a fight. And Rick wanted to get his hands on the Governor, he wanted to watch the life drain from his eyes as he tightened his grip on his neck.

Laying in bed that night Ell and Rick both found it hard to sleep. They didn't want anyone they care about to get hurt, much less die. Rick placed his hand on her belly and felt the baby move. "Will you keep an eye on Carl tomorrow?" He asked knowing that anything could happen.

"I won't let anything happen to him." A tear rolled down her cheek as she tried to close her eyes and sleep. The following day was going to be a long one and she was very pregnant.

The ground shook around them as the night sky lit up. Rick and Ell were shaken from their bed by some explosion. "Find Hershel, you guys have to get out of here." Rick needed to know she was going to get out if they were going to fight. She begged him not to split them up, but he had to find Carl. "I love you." He kissed her before telling her to go.

Panic broke out in the prison as people hurried from one spot to another unsure of what to do or where to go. Ell tried to get to Hershel, but as people pushed past her she was pushed out of the prison door and out into the night. People ran in every direction as bullets screamed out through the night air. To her left she herd Lori yell for Shane as another tower exploded behind them. One second Lori was standing, the next she was on the ground.

Shane fell to the ground crying over Lori's body. Carl wasn't with them, Rick had to have gotten to him. Ell turned to move to the back of the prison just as a bullet zipped past her head hitting the brick beside her sending slivers of brick in every direction. "Shit!" She yelled out grabbing her neck. She could feel the warmth of the blood as it seeped between her fingers, but she had to keep moving.

Behind a car she kneeled down she could see the blood trailing down her arm. Pulling a knife from her side she cut the sleeve from her shirt and held it to her neck. Looking around she didn't know what to do. She didn't know where Rick had went, she couldn't see anyone. She could hear the bullets and people screaming. But she had to keep moving. The last thing she needed was for the Governors people to come through and find her.

Standing she began to move again. She had to get to the other side of the wall. There were cars there, ready with the keys in them. She had to get out. She half ran, holding her belly as she did, she found someone on the ground. They'd been killed. It was one of the new comers. He'd only been there two weeks. "I'm sorry." She whispered as she bent over and took his two hand guns.

The gun fine behind her had gotten quieter. Just a shot here or there. But she kept moving. The cars were in sight when she felt a hand on her arm. With a gun in hand she turned ready to pull the trigger. "Whoa," Daryl ducked.

"Daryl." She wrapped her arms around him. Just happy to see some one she could trust. "What do we do?" She looked around, not that they could see much in the dark of the night.

"We have to go," he pulled on her arm trying to guide her to the car. "stick to the plan. We meet up down the road."

Ell nodded to him that she understood as he practically pushed her in the car. Just as he started the car bullets began to fly. "Down!" He yelled as he threw the car in drive and floored the gas. There was a weak spot in the fence that the walkers had taken down during all the chaos. Going as fast as he could he went through the fence and found a road. Once on pavement Daryl drove like a bat out of hell.

After a few minutes he was sure they weren't being followed so he slowed down just a bit. They had managed to survive the gun fight, the last thing he needed to do now was crash the car. "Did you see anyone else get out?" She asked him. He just shook his head no. "I saw Lori go down, and a few others, you?"

"I saw a bunch of people go down." He looked over at her and finally realized she was holding a bloody rag on her neck. "You get bit?" Stopping the car he was afraid he would have to do the unthinkable.

"Bullet hit the brick next to me, it's nothing." Ell looked through the back windshield. "We have to keep going." Daryl started driving again.

Ell watched out the window as the trees went by and they got further and further from the place they once called home. Resting her hand on her belly she felt the baby move. She was so big now and had to be at the end of pregnancy. Hershel had checked just a few days before telling her it would only be a few weeks at most. And now all this.

Ell yawned as she placed her head back against the head rest. Daryl could see how tired she was, and he was worried. He'd never had anything to do with a pregnancy before, but he wasn't a fool either. And Rick had told him what Hershel had said about the baby coming soon. He had to get her to Rick. Ell tried to keep her eyes open. But quickly lost that battle.

Opening her eyes Ell saw daylight. It took a moment before she realized where she was and what had happen. Sitting up, Daryl wasn't in the car that was now parked on the side of the road. "Daryl?" She began to panic. Opening the car door she got out. "Daryl?" She was about to cry when Daryl popped his head over the open trunk. "Don't do that, I thought you were gone." She walked to the back of the car. "What are you doing?"

"Trying to find food." He tore through the bags of supplies in the trunk. "Peaches." He held up a big can.

"I'm not hungry." She walked to the edge of the road. "But I do have to pee."

"Wait.." he didn't want her going anywhere alone.

"You can't follow me everywhere. I won't go far."

Daryl watched as she made her way behind a tree. Pulling a map out he laid it flat on the hood of the car. The day before the plan had been made that if they had to run, and some how everyone got separated they would meet at a town about twenty minutes away. Far enough that they could regroup and get out before the Governor and his people came looking.

Ell walked back to the car and sat in the drivers seat as he folded the map back up. "What are you doing?" He asked her.

"You drove all night, while I slept. Let me drive for a bit. Were not that far, you rest." She swung her feet into the car.

"Your pregnant, I'm alright" He motioned for her to get out of the car.

"You don't think pregnant women can drive?" She rolled her eyes. "I'm not fighting with you, just get in the car. I wanna get there. Rick's gonna be worried."

Daryl just shrugged his shoulders and got in the back seat. As she began down the road he laid in the back with his arm over his eyes. Ell drove anxious to get to Rick and Carl and the others. Praying that more of them got out than not.

After a little while Ell stopped the car. "Daryl." She reached over the seat and shook his leg. "We have a problem." Daryl sat up in the back seat and looked through the windshield. Down the road about half a mile there was a giant herd of walkers. Hundreds of them, there would be no going through them. "What are we going to do?"
