Disclaimer: I do not own Once Upon a Time

AN: To the reviewer who asked if this was based at all on JLO's "Enough," no, it isn't. I don't even know what that is. Is it a song? Or a movie? Anyhow, no it was not one of my influences, though I do have quite a few for this story and the characters in it. Anyhow, here's chapter 28! Enjoy! ~ XOXO MAS

"I want to go to New York." Emma stood up, only slightly shaky on her feet.

"I'm with Emma, we should've been included on this." Killian crossed his arms, "There are no other leads here, we're just sitting ducks."

"You're no"

"If you tell me one more time that I'm no help to you, I swear to God Graham, I'm going to beat you so bad the people who like you are going to bleed." Emma threatened. Sitting back on the edge of the bed, she pulled boots on and picked up her red leather jacket. "Killian and I are going to New York. David, Robin and August only have a two hour head start on us and Vic has cleared me. We're going. You should call your contact and tell her to go ahead with the raid as planned, but we'll be waiting at the precinct for her."

"I've got your bags." Regina barged into the hospital room. "I packed both of you a bunch of different stuff and got your guns."

"Regina!" Graham protested.

"Hey, my fiance is out there, if Emma and Killian can help that's all I need to know. Besides, if it were Roland out there you better believe your sexy Irish ass I'd be there too, no matter what kind of condition I was in. Now Emma is hydrated, she can sleep in the car, and she's all patched up. If you think you can convince Victor to change his already given medical opinion, be my guest, but they're going."

Graham growled, "Why is it that everyone I work has to be difficult?"

"Difficult to you is practical to the rest of us." Regina snarked before holding up a set of car keys. Tossing them to Killian she informed him, "That's your squad car. I stole it from the station so you have lights and sirens all the way. Ruby is waiting downstairs to take me home." She hugged Killian and then Emma, "Bring that boy of yours back to us." She whispered.

"Thank you, Regina." Emma whispered in her ear, "For everything."

Regina pulled back and wiped a tear at the corner of her eye, "Get out of here." She waved them away, "And you," she pointed to Graham, "go home, get some sleep." She ordered. Graham grumbled something unintelligible as they all left the hospital room.

David, Robin and August stepped out of the elevator and into the homicide division of the 12th precinct. "You sure they're expecting us?" Robin asked quietly as David took confident strides forward.

"Yes, Tink and Graham both know this woman." David paused and stopped a uniform, "Excuse me, I'm looking for Detective Kate Beckett."

The man stopped and turned, he pointed to a woman in dark jeans, black ankle boots and an army green t-shirt. "That's Beckett, she's waiting on some cops from another state though and she's hopping anxious over a kidnapping."

"We'd be the other cops." David patted the man's shoulder, "Thanks, man." He strode over to where Beckett and three other men were staring at a white board. "Detective Beckett?"

The woman turned, "You must be Deputy Nolan. Kate Beckett."

"Please, call me David. This is Robin Locksley and August Booth." He motioned to the two men beside him.

"Nice to meet you both. This is Detective Javier Esposito and Detective Kevin Ryan and Rick Castle." She motioned to her team. "Captain Montgomery is around here somewhere. You have full jurisdiction here and when we catch the guy you can take him back to Maine with you."

David nodded, "Thank you, Detective Beckett."

"Please, either call me Kate or Beckett." She waved her hand, "We're all about to get to know each other really well. And I know this is a personal case for you."

David's eyes flew to the white board where pictures of Henry and Neal were posted, "Yeah, Henry is the son of one of our deputies." David dropped his gaze, "Her name is Emma West." He murmured, "I'm not sure what Tink and Graham have told you, but it's a very dicey situation."

"We actually haven't heard all that much," Castle, who David recognized as the best selling author (he would have to ask Beckett about that later), stood up, "in her personnel file it says her last name is Swan."

David cleared his throat and briefly launched into the story about how Emma stumbled into their lives, dragging their local bad boy with her. He also explained how they slowly found out the truth about Emma and who she really was. August filled the detectives and Castle in on why and how he helped her get a new identity to get away from West and Emma's subsequent kidnapping and escape.

Beckett leaned against her desk, "Wow, she's been through quite a bit. Well, if Tink and Graham vouch for her, then we're good to go." She picked up a file on her desk, "These are the specs on the address you sent us. It's a warehouse. We've got a unit ready to go in." She eyed Robin and August, "Castle doesn't get a gun," she stated warily, "now as for you two"

"I own the gun range in Storybrooke, I have my own gun." Robin swiped his jacket back and tapped his side.

August lifted his own jacket to show a holster, "I'm licensed, but if you'd feel more comfortable"

"No, it's fine. We're not exactly following protocol here, but Montgomery will protect us. Besides," she tossed a sideways glance at Castle, "we stopped following protocol the minute I brought him in for questioning three years ago." She rolled her eyes and grabbed a brown leather jacket off the back of a chair, "You ready to move out?"

"Let's get this over with. Hopefully, we'll have Henry back by the end of this." David murmured, motioning for Beckett to lead the way.

Henry shifted on the bed, "I just don't understand why I'm here."

"Just shut up!" Neal all but yelled at him.

Henry cowered back into the corner of the bed. He took five deep breaths, just like his mom does when she's scared or angry or trying to clear her head to think. He needed to focus on how to get out of the room he was in. He had no idea where he was. He woke up in the backseat of a car and all he knew was that he bumped around for what felt like an eternity before he was blindfolded and picked up and placed on the same bed he was still sitting on. "Sorry." Henry finally murmured when he found a small voice inside of himself.

Neal, or Baelfire, or his father, or whoever he was, looked over at him apologetically, "Oh, I'm sorry, Henry. This isn't how this was supposed to start out." He stood up and began pacing, shaking his head back and forth, "We're going to be real happy, though, just the two of us. We're going to start fresh. Somewhere far away from here. You're going to love it. It's never cold and it's always sunny and"

"I want to be in Storybrooke." Henry whispered.

"What?" Neal stopped and turned to ask. "Why would you want to be there?"

Henry bit his lip, "Cause my mom is there. And Killian. And all of my friends."

Neal held in the fit of rage at the mention of Killian's name. Hunkering down in front of the boy, he said sternly, "You mother is not in Storybrooke anymore. She won't be there ever again." He promised. "She's back in Texas with Walsh. She's in a place where they help people with mental problems. She's crazy, that mom of yours is, it's why I left."

Henry chewed on this information for a moment before finally responding in a strong, confident voice, "My mom is not crazy. And she doesn't belong in a place full of crazy people. I bet most of them aren't even crazy. Walsh has a lot of money. I bet that's why she's there. And my mom won't stay there. She'll get away. She's smart. She's way smarter than you and Walsh are. She'll be back in Storybrooke with Killian and the rest of our family. And when she gets me back, she'll make sure you never come near either of us ever again." He threatened boldly.

Neal saw red and he reared back on his feet, "You little shit." he snapped, "You have no idea how lucky you are that I got to you. Killian is a bad dude, you would've starved if you'd been left with him. I'm gonna take care of you, you'll see." He spun around moved back to the chair in the corner of the dark room, "Now go to sleep." He ordered.

Emma watched as the trees on the highway flew by at a terrific speed, "You should get some rest, love." Killian offered, "I'm fine, Ruby left more than enough coffee to keep us up for days."

Emma shook her head, "If I sleep, I'm just going to have nightmares."

Killian glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, "Emma,"

"Don't apologize, Killian. This was out of your control. This was out of everyone's control." She murmured.

"It was my job to protect you and Henry." His grip tightened on the wheel.

"It was my job to protect Henry. We should've left town the moment Neal rolled in. And as for Walsh, well that was my mistake as well." She rubbed the bandage on her wrist from the metal where she spliced the ropes. "I make terrible mistakes." She murmured.

Reaching over, Killian laced his hand with hers, his thumb rubbing her palm soothingly, "I hope I'm not one of those, Swan."

She glanced at his profile, studying him for a moment, "You could never be a mistake, Killian." She murmured softly. "Henry and I both love you."

"You're both far more than I deserve, Swan." Killian's voice was thick with emotion, Henry, he's the most incredible lad I've ever met. I don't know how you did that." He glanced over at her after switching lanes to fly past a BMW, "You're an incredible lass yourself, Emma. Don't ever sell yourself short."

Emma brought his hand up to her lips and brushed a kiss over his knuckles, "You do the same thing, Killian. You have no idea what a good man you are. You're hauling your ass to New York City in the middle of the fucking night to help find Henry."

"He wouldn't need finding if"

"If Neal weren't a fucking jackass." Emma finished, "Stop blaming yourself. I don't want to hear it anymore." She snapped.

"Fine, then you must do the same, love. You weren't even there." He pointed out.

"That's the problem." Emma sighed.

"Maybe we should both blame Walsh then?" Killian suggested.

"That I'll buy." Emma agreed after a moment of thought.

Esposito stood closest to the door of the warehouse, ready to clip the lock. The night manager hadn't been able to find a key efficiently enough for Beckett's liking. Gun poised behind Esposito to cover him, Kate nodded, "Do it." She whispered.

When Esposito and Ryan pulled the door up, the group trained their guns on the warehouse while Beckett screamed, "Police!" in warning.

David's arm dropped limply to his side, "It's empty."
