"William please be still, you are going to wear a hole in the carpet at this rate!" Georgie said for the fifth time. Her brother had been pacing for a good twenty minutes for some reason.

"Did you check the dining room?" Darcy asked in a hurry, he knew he was being ridiculous but he couldn't help himself. He wanted everything to be perfect for Elizabeth and her family.

"I checked it three times, Mrs Reynolds has checked it five times and you have checked it six times" Georgie exclaimed with a sigh.

"Seven" Darcy admitted quietly.

"See? There is no need to worry, it will be the prettiest dining room in all of England"

"I am sorry for being so annoying but I just want it to be perfect!" Darcy admitted apologetically whilst wringing his hands.

"I know you do William and it will be, this isn't the first time that you have entertained guests"

"Did you check the place settings?" Darcy said after a few minutes of silence. Georgie sighed 'here we go again' she thought sullenly.

"Of Course I did, so did Mrs Reynolds, so did you, so please calm down!" Georgie said sighing dramatically, this type of worrying was certainly not good for one's health.

"What do you think of this jacket?" Darcy asked before looking in the mirror critically.

"It looks very nice, you look very handsome tonight so do not worry" Georgie said in a softer tone.

"Are you sure you checked the place settings?" Darcy asked yet again.

"ARGH!" Georgie said screeching and throwing her hands up.

Lizzy looked in the mirror as the maid fixed her hair, she was feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. Nerves because she wanted to make a good impression on Miss Darcy and Mr Darcy and excitement because she knew that it would be a wonderful evening. The maid finished Lizzy's hair and quietly left, not before being thanked repeatedly by Lizzy. A few minutes later a knock came on Lizzy's door.

"Who is it?"

"Madeleine"

"Come in" Lizzy said as she got up to greet her aunt.

"Oh Lizzy you look spectacular!" Madeleine said with glee, being a designer she was always looking for beautiful muses and who was more beautiful than her little Lizzy bear?

"I must say I do love this dress" Lizzy said admiring herself in the mirror.

"Sweetheart the dress is nothing compared to the wearer" Madeleine said kissing her niece on her forehead.

"Sad thing then the wearer looks like the rear end of a donkey" A Voice said from the doorway.

"You're a cheeky sod you know that?" Lizzy told her cousin whilst trying to fight a smile.

"I try my best" Robert said with a dashing smile.

"Robert as much as I love you I must ask…no plead, please don't refer to your cousin as a donkeys…you know… tonight at dinner" Madeleine asked softly with a smile.

"I'll try my best" Dramatic sigh "But if someone else notices the resemblance I may not be able to hold my tongue"

"How are you feeling about tonight Lionel?" Lizzy asked with a knowing look.

"Yes…well…um I feel perfectly relaxed about tonight Kimberley" Robert said turning a violent crimson.

"Truly? It's just earlier you were rather nervous" Lizzy teased.

"Yes well I just want to make a good impression, that's all" Robert said quietly.

"If you say so" Lizzy said before winking at him, to which he rolled his eyes.

"Can you two stop for just a minute? Now Robert come over here to I get a better look at you" Madeleine said as she ushered Robert to stand beside Lizzy.

"You both look lovely" Madeleine said smiling.

"Why thank you Madeleine but you don't have to lie to Lizzy just to spare her feelings" Robert whispered loudly earning him a thump on the arm from Lizzy.

"What did he say this time?" Edward chuckled from the doorway.

"He said I look like a certain part of a donkey earlier" Lizzy said pouting which caused Edward to roar with laughter.

"Good one my boy, now shall we go?" Edward said holding out his arm for his wife, leaving Robert and Lizzy to walk each other down.

"You look lovely really" Robert whispered as they walked down the stairs.

"You don't look to bad yourself" Lizzy said with a small smile.

"There they are" Georgie whispered to her brother.

"Hello again" Madeleine said with a smile.

"Please come in" Darcy said seeming surprisingly calm but Georgie knew inside he was a bundle of nerves.

"How do you like your rooms?" Georgie asked quietly.

"Oh they are quite lovely" Madeleine said with a kind smile, she rather liked Miss Darcy. She was thankfully unlike most…or all of the other women of her social standing. She was reserved and not an egotistical sociopath thankfully.

"Excuse my intrusion but dinner is ready" Mrs Reynolds said from the doorway. All guests thanked her and left for the dining room.

As they entered the dining room they all took their allocated seat. Darcy was at the head of the table with Lizzy on his left and Mr Gardiner on is right. Beside Lizzy was Miss Darcy. Mrs Gardiner sat beside her husband and opposite Miss Darcy. Robert was placed beside Miss Darcy, Lizzy could tell he was absolutely devastated by this.

Dinner passed happily, conversation flowed and everyone was having a fantastic time. After dinner they all went to the music room, usually the men would go to the study for cigars and brandy but they decided it would be best if they joined the ladies instead.

In the Music room Georgina immediately asked Lizzy to play and sing for them which she did. Lizzy played a song she was very familiar with, it was technically difficult…well not for her but it showed the beauty of her voice and her great talent at the pianoforte.

"You played that so beautifully" Georgie gushed quietly.

"Oh Thank you, do you wish to play?" Lizzy asked with a small smile.

"Oh no I couldn't possibly sing in front of all these people" Georgie answered shyly, she was red even thinking about it.

"Oh please will you not even play the piano?" Lizzy knew she shouldn't force the girl but she knew that talent wasn't her problem just shyness.

"Maybe a small piece" Georgie said after a moment.

"What about a duet? I know Robert wouldn't mind playing his violin, I'm sure he brought it"

"Oh well…um yes I guess that would be better" Nerves immediately left Georgie and where replaced by fluttering's of the heart for different reasons.

"Robert would you play a duet?" Lizzy asked her cousin who was talking to Mr Darcy.

"Yes okay, give me a moment to go get my violin" Robert said as he got up to go fetch his violin from his room.

After a few minutes Robert re-entered the music room with his prized possession. He quickly went to the pianoforte and he and Miss Darcy agreed on a piece.

The music flowed through the air, Georgie and Robert played like they had been partners for years. Georgie quickly came out of her shell and Robert was beaming as they concluded the piece and got a standing applause from everyone.

"Thought you didn't play so well?" Robert asked with a smile.

"Um…well I don't" Georgie stated looking at her hands.

"Miss Darcy I have heard some fantastic piano players and I must inform you that you are honestly one of the best piano players I have ever heard"

Georgie couldn't even respond, her brain wasn't working anymore and she would probably just embarrass herself, so she just sat there and tried to fight a grin that was threatening to burst.

"Where did you learn to play?" Georgie asked after a few moments of comfortable silence.

"Oh my father taught me when I was young but my mother says that I would sit on the floor as a baby with a violin and run the bow over it making pointless notes"

"So I take it you love music then?"

"Yes very much, I've always found it very calming to play or simply listening, I don't understand people who find no enjoyment in it"

"I must agree with you completely, there is no greater pleasure than losing yourself in the notes" Georgie said honestly, she usually wouldn't have said something so ridiculous but she just felt Mr Burton would understand her.

"Truer words never spoken" Robert said with a charming smile.

Across the room and Darcy and Lizzy sat talking quietly.

"Would you like to go for a walk with me?" Darcy asked fidgeting.

Lizzy gave her consent and they both left quietly.

"Should one of us chaperone them?" Edward said looking after the door.

"No it would be best if we sit here my love" Madeleine said with a small knowing smile, she looked over at Miss Darcy and Robert who seemed to be oblivious to the world around them.

"But it would be inappropriate for them to be on their own" Edward said looking at his wife is she lost her mind.

"Eddie darling calm down, everything will work out just perfect if you sit still" Madeleine scolded her husband.

"You sound like Nora or Helena, you know that?" Edward said with a smile.

"Now Now Edward there is no need to insult a lady" Madeleine returned the smile.

Lizzy and Darcy walked through the halls of pemberley quietly, they would stop every now and then if Lizzy saw something interesting or if Darcy wanted to point something out. They made their way to the conservatory. Lizzy smiled happily when she entered, she could see why Mr Darcy had brought her here.

The smell of Roses immediately invaded your nostrils. The sight was beautiful, it was rather dark but you could see perfectly fine. Lizzy walked over to the window and saw the moon shining over the lake. It was so peaceful, so tranquil, it was like time stood still.

"Elizabeth"

Lizzy turned around slowly, she couldn't help but gasp softly at the way Mr Darcy was looking at her. She was sure that is she lived to be a thousand no one else would ever look at her like that. He looked at her like she was the most precious thing in the world, like without her he would fail to exist.

Lizzy didn't say anything though, what could she say? It was like in that moment words weren't needed. They simply stared at each other.

"Elizabeth" Mr Darcy said it again but she was sure he wasn't even aware that he had said it. He remained there staring at her with soft adoring eyes, drinking her in, savouring the moment.

"Elizabeth… you must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you" Mr Darcy said after a moment, it seemed like he almost wasn't aware that he did say it but that didn't mean it wasn't true. Lizzy stared at him for a few moments, she couldn't believe he had just told her he loved her and said it so beautifully. Any other man would have simply said 'I love you' but not Mr Darcy.

"I have struggled to keep my feelings to myself, I have felt for you what I have felt for no other. From the first moment that I laid eyes on you I knew you were special. You must know that I am a difficult man to get along with, I do not make acquaintances easily and I make friends even harder but with you it came so naturally. You are everything I am looking for in a partner. Your kind, witty, intelligent, caring, compassionate, the list is endless. I know that I don't deserve you but I will do everything in my power to make you feel the strength of my love.

I love you more than anything and I hope…pray that you feel the same way. Elizabeth I beg of you to relieve my suffering and consent to be my wife" Darcy said looking at her pleadingly, like his entire existence replied upon her answer.

Lizzy wanted to say something, she had so much to say but she couldn't. Tear's, happy tears were running down her cheeks. This however seemed to worry Mr Darcy.

"I understand completely if you do not feel the same way, I will go back to the music room" Darcy said quietly before turning around to head back inside.

He however didn't get far when the collar of his jacket was pulled sharply back.

"Where do you think you are going?" Lizzy said with a shaky voice.

"Please do not trifle with me at this moment, I do not think I could cope with it" Mr Darcy pleaded quietly, sounding completely heartbroken.

"Is that anyway to speak to your future wife?" Lizzy said with a small smile, watching his reaction closely.

"I understand you feelings….what?!" Darcy said abruptly when her statement settled in.

"When I become the next Mrs Darcy I would like if you would listen to me without wandering off before I have given you an answer" Lizzy scolded lightly.

"Next Mrs Darcy?! Is that a yes?" Darcy said in a high voice that if Richard or Bing heard they would tease him mercilessly for.

"Yes it is you fool!" Lizzy stated before swatting his arm. Mr Darcy however didn't respond instead just lunged at her.

"AHHH" Lizzy squealed whilst giggling as Mr Darcy picked her up and swung her around.

"Oh Elizabeth you have made me the happiest of men, happier than Bingley on a sad day and that's saying something!" Darcy said as he swung her around again.

"I am so happy to William, We will rival Jane and Mr Bingley with our sickening happiness, people will throw up wherever we go!" Lizzy teased as Mr Darcy sat her down.

"You called me William" Darcy said with a small smile.

"Well I know your name is Fitzwilliam but that is such a mouthful and I associate that with you cousin the Colonel"

"True and we both know I am infinitely superior to my cousin" Darcy said puffing up his chest making his Fiancé laugh.

"Okay so Fitzwilliam is out if the question…oh what about pumpkin?" Lizzy said, fine eyes sparkling.

"No I don't feel it represents who I am" Darcy said thoughtfully.

"Fitzy?"

"God no!"

"Honeybun?"

"Not feeling it"

"Sweetie pie?"

"Only on the weekend"

"See? William it is then, I like William, you like William, everybody likes William!" Lizzy stated.

"What will I call you?" Darcy was rather enjoying their little discussion.

"Oh well, my family and friends call me Lizzy normally or Elizabeth"

"I like Lizzy or Elizabeth but what about Eliza?" Darcy said waiting for her reaction.

"Eliza?! You will not Fitzy!" Lizzy said crossly, only Miss Horse dung Bingley called her that.

"Okay what about Betty?"

"No a girl in Meryton called me Betty and I hated her, so bad feelings are associated with it"

"Okay what about Elle?"

"Not bad, not bad but I still prefer Lizzy or Elizabeth or if you are willing, your royal highness, goddess divine of all that is fine, supreme countess of all that is sublime"

"Did you just rhyme?"

"Oh I believe I just did, now back to the problem at hand"

"What about Mrs Darcy?"

"Oh I like the sound of that but you mustn't call me that all the time, I hate couples who refer to themselves are Mr and Mrs when it is not in jest"

"So Lizzy or Elizabeth it is then" Darcy said smiling at her before gazing out onto the lake.

"William" Lizzy said looking at him.

"Um?" Darcy said still gazing out at the lake.

"Can you look at me for a second?" Lizzy said quietly, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"Okay then…" Darcy said looking at her but was cut off when her soft rose red lips collided with his. He sat in shock for a moment before lunging at her once again, they parted a few moments later both panting and both slightly dizzy. Both stared at each other for a few moments before kissing again.

"We… should… get back" Lizzy said between kisses.

"That…would…be…a…good…idea" Darcy agreed with her, yet neither made any move to break apart.

After a few minutes they broke apart and sat for a little while longer to collect themselves. Suddenly Mr Darcy stood up and went over to the roses and picked out one and gave it to Lizzy.

"A beautiful rose for my beautiful rose" Mr Darcy said quietly before kissing her softly.

Tears sprung to Lizzy's eyes as she happily accepted the rose and smelt it.

"I love you" Mr Darcy told her quietly as he watched her adorningly.

"I love you too" Lizzy said quietly. She watched as her fiancée's eyes widened slightly then a huge grin spread across his face.

"You have no idea how long I have longed for you to say that" Darcy admitted voice thick with emotions.

A while later they made their way back to the music room. Darcy and Lizzy noticed that her aunt and uncle where sitting closely talking, whilst Miss Darcy and Robert were playing a duet on the piano and talking, oblivious to the world around them.

"Can we all have you attention please?" Darcy asked, still grinning like an idiot.

"I have asked Elizabeth to be my wife and she has said yes" Darcy told them all then looked at Elizabeth who like him was grinning at practically bouncing up and down.

"Oh Lizzy" Madeleine said rushing to her niece and enveloping her in a huge hug.

"Congratulations you two, you deserve all the happiness in the world!" Edward said shaking Mr Darcy's hand and hugging his niece.

"Finally got someone to take you off our hands" Robert said jokingly but there was no mistaking the tears in his eyes.

"Oh shut up you" Lizzy said before slapping his arm.

"I'm only joking, you know I'm delighted for you" Robert said sincerely to the girl who had been like a sister to him from the day he was born.

"Welcome to the family" Robert said shaking Mr Darcy's hand.

"Thank you for having me" Mr Darcy said honestly, he then looked around to see Georgie standing a few feet back with tears in her eyes before rushing forward.

"Congratulations William, I'm so happy that you will be part of our family Lizzy, I always wanted a sister" Georgie said quietly so only her brother and his fiancé could hear.

"I will be honoured to have you as a sister" Lizzy said quietly, before hugging the life out of poor Georgie who was too happy to care.

"Took you long enough!" Georgie joked to her brother making everyone laugh.

"Oh I have to write home and tell them the news!" Lizzy said clapping her hands.

"You have never met my mother have you?" Robert asked Georgie.

"No I have not" Georgie stated, she wondered why Edward and Robert laughed at her statement.

"Why are you laughing?" Georgie asked utterly confused.

"You'll see" Robert said cryptically leaving Georgie to wonder what Robert's mother was like.

Three days later - Longbourn

"AHHHHHH" A screech resounded through the halls.

Thomas and Henry busted through the hallways to find the noise. They opened the door to the ladies parlour to find all hell breaking loose. Jane was sitting smiling like a maniac whilst tears where rolling down her cheeks. Nora was clapping and smiling like Jane. Helena was in the middle of the room doing something that resembled river dance but those who knew her weren't phased, she danced like this when she was extremely happy about something. Emilia was on the loveseat holding Harry to her like glue.

"Why are you all leaving me?!" she wailed.

"Mama I canny breathe!" Harry said trying to peal himself away from his mother.

"My love what is going on?" Henry asked as he approached Helena after she did a high kick.

"Mr Darcy has proposed to Lizzy, the dear writes, see…oh she is so happy!" Helena said dreamily.

"He did what?!" Henry squeaked.

"What is wrong?!" Nora asked in between laughing happily.

"Oh nothing Nora" Henry huffed.

"So when will I be collecting my winnings?" Thomas whispered to him.

"I really thought we had about two months before he would propose!" Henry said absentmindedly. The last thing he wanted was to give Thomas his 1760 brandy.

"Father why didn't you tell us that Mr Darcy had asked for Lizzy's hand?" Jane asked whilst trying to free Harry of their mother's grip.

"WHAT?! You knew? Oh you sneaky bastard!" Henry roared at a gleeful Thomas before following him out of the room.

"Language my dears, there are minors in the room" Nora scolded as Helena did a back flip behind her.

"Aunt Helena calm down, remember when Mr Bingley proposed you nearly did yourself damage from that cartwheel" Jane pleaded softly.

"I know my dear, it is just I am so happy that your all happy and in love! It is a time to celebrate!" Helena said before kissing Jane's cheek's.

"I AM GOING TO KILL YOU AND THEY'LL NEVER FIND THE BODY!" Henry screamed from Thomas' study but they could hear him half way across the house, they could also hear Thomas laughing.

"I knew, didn't it tell you I knew?! After their first meeting I knew!" Helena told Nora.

"Why are all my babies leaving me?" Emilia pouted from the corner.

"Mama I still canny breathe" Harry stated turning a little pink.
