AN: Sorry that this chapter took me so long but I've been trying to get an original story done. I've been promising Cherri101 for a very long time to work on Movie Magic. I finally almost have it done. It's on fictionpress if anyone wants to try it or any other of my original stories (all BL). I also originally had a lot more planned for this chapter, but I wanted to get something up.

The one year Anniversary of this story is coming up! I was planning on doing a missing scenes chapter to celebrate. If there is anything someone would like to see leave it in a review or PM me :)

Please leave a review!

Chapter 28

Jude looked back at his boyfriend as they made their way down the street that would take them to his parents' house. He frowned. Ludger looked nervous. Very nervous. He didn't know why the idea of him telling his parents had Ludger so upset.

"Ludger are you alright?" Jude asked him.

"I'm fine," Ludger said as he gave him a smile. Jude barely held in a wince. That was one of Ludger's fake smiles.

"If the idea of telling my parents has you this upset…" Jude said as he let his voice trail off.

"It's not so much telling them as their reac…" Ludger started to say then bit his lip, "it's just a big step."

"Don't worry so much about it," Jude said as he gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "I want to tell them."

"Even if they aren't happy about it?" Ludger asked so quietly Jude wasn't even sure if he spoke.

"Well I'm happy, and you're happy…" Jude said and smiled when Ludger nodded. "Then that's all that matters. If they're not happy, that's their choice. But I would still like to tell them."

"Alright," Ludger said with another smile. This one of was real, but Jude could tell that Ludger was till troubled.

Wanting to give his boyfriend some solstice Jude grabbed his hand and the two of them continued to walk down the street. They had just about made it to his parents' when Jude saw someone that he was surprised to see.

"Leia what are you doing here?" Jude asked as he looked at his childhood friend.

"I live here, you know," Leia said as she crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her nose in the air.

"Are you still on vacation?" Ludger asked her. Unlike himself, his boyfriend got a smile. Jude rolled his eyes in response.

"Actually, I'm between stories and Leronde happens to be a stop on my way to my next assignment," Leia explained. "Besides it's been awhile since I've seen my parents. The real question is what are you two doing here?"

"We're here to tell my parents," Jude told her.

"Finally!" Leia shrieked with a big smile. "I told my parents as soon as you two got together."

"You told your mother, about us?" Jude asked as he gave her an incredulously look. Leia nodded.

"Both of my parents know," Leia said. "Ever since my mother learned how to sue a GHS, she calls me at least once a day. I had to tell her something. She's very eager to meet the person who captured your heart. They've had a hard time keeping it a secret."

"That…" Jude said as he tried to keep from blushing; he couldn't help but to notice that Ludger was blushing as well.

"After you're done with your parents, stop by the inn and let me know how it went," Leia said as she gave them a wink and continued on her way.

"Come on," Jude said as he once again grabbed Ludger by the hand and led him down the street.

Not surprisingly his parents' clinic was business, so he got roped into helping while Ludger stayed in the back and tried to keep out of everyone's way. Jude felt bad that once again he couldn't spend time with his boyfriend, but he hoped that he had proved to Ludger how much he meant to him.

Finally after a very long afternoon they finally had seen all of the patients. All of them were now seated in Jude's parents' small, but comfortable sitting room. Jude frowned when he saw that Ludger looked more nervous than he did before, but his boyfriend gave him an encouraging smile.

"Jude it's so nice of you to visit and so unexpected," his mother said as she gave him a big smile.

"So what brings you here?" his father asked in his usual clipped tone.

"I actually have something important to tell you," Jude said suddenly feeling nervous himself.

"Have you finally found a girl?" his mother asked looking hopeful.

"I have found someone," Jude said as his mother's smile widened, "but it's not a girl." At first his mother gave him a very confused look until she looked down at his hand. At some point during the conversation he had ended up grabbing Ludger's hand; he didn't even remember doing it.

What of nowhere Jude felt a sting on his cheek. He looked at his mother to see her hand raised and an angry look on her face. His mother had just slapped him! He felt Ludger's hand trembling in his own.

"I guess we'll just leave then," Jude said as he made sure to keep Ludger's hand grasped tightly in his own. His boyfriend looked as upset as he felt. He then led Ludger's from his parents' house and outside. Once outside he took a big shuddering breath. He never thought that his mother would react that way.

"Are you alright?" Ludger asked as his voice trembled slightly.

"As right as I can be," Jude said as he rubbed his sore cheek.

"I'm sorry," Ludger said sound contrite.

"This isn't your fault," Jude told him. "I told you before. If they're not happy it's their choice."

"Still," Ludger said as he bit his lip. "Having your mother hate you, I'm sorry…"

"She'll get over it," Jude said hoping that it was true.

"Do you want to go home?" Ludger asked. Jude smiled. It was the first time that Ludger called his house, home.

"Yeah, I don't think it will be a good idea for us to stay here," Jude said as he once again rubbed his cheek. Ludger took a step towards him and reached out his hand, but at the last second he pulled away. Jude frowned finally realizing something.

"This was why you were so nervous about me telling my parents," Jude said. Ludger bit his lip and nodded. "You were worried that something like this would happen."

"I thought that your parents would kick us out. I never thought that you your mother would…" Ludger said as he touched Jude's throbbing cheek. "I would have done anything to protect you from that."

"If I knew how she was going to react that way I never would have suggested it," Jude told him. He let out a long sigh. His whole life his mother was always supportive of him. The buffer between him and his father. If she was this upset with him, Jude couldn't imagine how angry his father was.

"I know you want to go home," Ludger said as he gave him a sad smile, "but the ferry doesn't' come until morning. Leia said that we could go to her parents' inn."

"I don't think we have much of a choice," Jude said as he looked back at his parents' house.

"It will be alright," Ludger said as he gave him a kind smile. Ludger then grabbed him by the hand and pulled him down the street towards the inn.

Since it was an inn they knew that they didn't need to knock and just entered. Leia was sitting at the counter sipping from a drink looking to be lost in thought. She must have heard them enter as she turned around and gave him a small, but it disappeared when she got a good look at him.

"What happened?" she asked her voice soft.

"My parents…" Jude started to say, but was unable to finish.

"We were wondering if we could have a room for the night," Ludger finished for him.

"Of course," Leia said as she gave them an overly bright smile. She quickly grabbed a key off of a hook from behind the counter. She then led them up the stairs and to a room at the end of the hallway. "This is one of our better rooms." She then unlocked the door and led them inside.

Jude had to admit that the room was nice. It was bigger than his bedroom back home. It had a large four post bed, a small fireplace, and a bay window that looked out onto the garden of the inn.

"Do you need anything?" Leia asked.

"I think that we're okay," Jude said as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"Actually could we have some ice?" Ludger asked as he looked at Jude's red cheek with a worried frown.

"Of course," Leia told them. "I'll be right back with that."

Once Leia had left, Ludger joined him on the bed and gave him a pained look. Jude could see several emotions reflected in his boyfriend's eyes; the most prominent one was guilt.

"It doesn't really hurt," Jude tried to reassure him.

"Maybe," Ludger said with a small shrug. "But I know that it was the fact that she slapped you, than the slap itself."

"Yeah," Jude agreed. "My mother was always there for me, well until today."

"I'm sorry," Ludger said quietly.

"Stop apologizing!" Jude snapped. He felt bad when Ludger winced. He hadn't meant to yell at the younger man. He was just frustrated by the whole situation. "Look I…" he started to say, but he stopped when he heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it," Ludger said as he gave him a sad smile. Ludger opened the door to see an anxious looking Leia standing there.

"Um…Jude," Leia said as she nervously twisted her hands.

"What is it?" Jude asked as he got up and went to stand next to Ludger.

"Your father is here and he wants to see you," Leia told him.

"My father?" Jude asked having a hard time believing it. Leia nodded.

"Do you want to see him?" Ludger asked.

"I…" Jude said unsure of what else to say.

"I can send him away from you if you want," Leia offered.

"No," Jude said with a small shake of his head. "I should probably see what he wants."

"Would you like me to go with you?" Ludger asked.

"That's alright," Jude told him as he gave Ludger what he hoped was a reassuring smile. The last thing that he wanted was Ludger to be exposed to his parents more than he already had. "I'll just go and see what he wants." He gave Ludger a quick kiss on the cheek as he left.

As Jude walked down the stairs he tried to calm his nerves. Just what could his father want to see him about?
