I sighed as I sat in the kitchen just like the last time I was in his home. There was food this time. I was humming softly, nibbling on a carrot with my back to the door into the room.

"Kathy?"

I glance over my shoulder, smiling warmly around the carrot in my mouth. Godric looked surprised to see me. I was in one of his shirts, a pair of Eric's shorts on me. My hair was still wet from the shower. Pam had helped me get the concrete out before sunrise. She had been calm about it, gentle on me.

"Hi, Gloomy Bear."

"Why are you here?"

"She asked," Eric says as he pushes the swinging door open to join us. He wore another tracksuit.

I smile at them both again. Eric quirks his brow at me, looking over what I had on.

"I thought we brought you clothes."

I let out a laugh. "We packed no night clothes. So after you all went to ground, I raided your wardrobes." I lift the collar of Godric's shirt to my nose and sniff. My eyes close as a happy sigh escapes me "Plus, this shirt smells like Godric."

Godric gives a small smile. "I had thought you were on bad terms with Eric."

I tilt my head. "How can I be mad at him after last night….Aside from leaving me to Sookie's wrath."

"She was not mad at you," Eric points out.

"Eh," I shrug, shifting as if ready to jump off the counter.

"What made you ask to stay here?"

"Well…." I kick my feet looking down. "I wanted to be here when you got up."

I look up quickly, beaming happily at him. Eric had a quirked brow at me. Gosh it was better knowing he could feel me instead of Godric at this moment. But it all boiled down to me trusting Godric more than I could ever trust anybody else. It just made it easier to hide this from him. Godric didn't need my troubles pulling him down. He would move us, hide me. My eyes flicked to Eric.

The look clearly said that he would say nothing, but he wouldn't lie if asked. I slip off the counter, all but tackling Godric in a hug.

"I want to go out tonight," I chirp happily.

"Of course. I do owe you that night."

I shrug, slipping away. My hands were clasped behind my back as I took large dramatic steps toward the other side of the room.

"Well….I was thinking about that."

"Oh?" I didn't glance at him as I swung from side to side, looking out the window.

"I'm not sure I want to go anyplace fancy." I turn toward them, speaking with my hands. "I feel so out of place in them, you know? Like if I sneeze I might ruin the lights and get kicked out. And garsh forbid that." My cheeks warmed at the thought of it. Utter embarrassment.

"Are you sure, Kathy?"

I look up to meet his eyes shyly. "Yeah. And the food tastes so odd. Like it was fake or something. Obviously made without feeling."

"I take it you have some place in mind?"
"Well….."

"Of course," Godric says with a warm look.

I felt my nervousness and worry vanish. I beamed at him, skipping across the room to him. I grasped his arm and bounced about happily.

"Great. I really want you to meet my friend Lala and Sam. Their so cool," I gush.

"Get dressed then," he chuckles, lightly pushing me toward the door.

"But, Godric," I say quickly, turning back to him at the door. "You have to dress normal. You know, like the mortals do. Jeans and any t-shirt really. No bare feet or dress shoes. Sam hates when I do it."

"Of course."

I smile back at him before rushing from the room. I was back in twenty minutes. My hair was pulled back in a very sloppy knot, a simple white sundress with lilac leggings. White sandals clacked as I rushed to the door.

Godric was simple in his dress. Just as he was with everything. I giggled as I looked him over. Black Nike sneakers. Jeans that were a top brand, but without sight of the tag nobody would know. And a white t-shirt.

"Ready?"

"Sure am. Who's driving?"

I pause. Eric was fixing his leather jacket, shrugging into it more like. My eyes quickly turn to a full on glare.

"Where are you going?"

He looks at me, eyeing over what I had on. "Obviously with you."

I give a snort, rolling my eyes. "Right. Cause I so asked to spend time with you."

His brow quirked. "It is a birthday dinner, correct?"

"Uh…It is?"

Godric looked ready to laugh. Eric gave a smug smile.

"I am coming along to celebrate a birthday too."

"Really?" This was going over my head a bit. My eyes squint at him. "Wait…." I look to Godric then Eric. I was giving in on him coming. I would so make him pay for what ever I ate. "How are we getting there? Our," I motion between Godric and myself, "car only has two seats."

"You could sit on my lap," he says with a very cocky smirk.

I frown, hip jutting to the side as my free hand snaps to it. "Not happening, long fang."

"Kathy." Godric was ignored.

"It is Godric's car. You are the smallest of us all. It only makes sense."

My eyes roll as I thrust my hands in the air. "I would rather not." An evil smirk comes to my lips. "You can come." His brows lift, having won. But waiting for more. "But, you pay for everything."

"Deal. It's not like we are going anyplace expensive. Besides, how much can a little nymph eat?"

Famous last words. I grin evilly at him, teeth flashing. Godric looked about ready to put a hand to his face.

"Faster!" I yell, hands in the air as we fly down the road at speeds prohibited by law.

Eric had a huge smirk on his face as I sat on Godric, hands sticking out of the top of the convertible Corvette. Eric drove faster than I had ever dared. Saddening as that was. I was giggling as I looked back at Godric. He smiled at me, motioning with his eyes to have fun.

I sat up, grasping the top of the car and stood the best I could. My eyes closed, feeling the wind rip at the hair, pulling some loose as I laughed wildly. After a moment, my arms lifted, feeling like I was flying as Eric drove.

Godric's hands were softly holding my lower ribs suddenly. I didn't even bat a lash, trusting Godric as I felt his hands keep me from falling about as we hit curves. My eyes opened, squinting tightly to see through the wind and my suddenly loose hair. My hair snapped in the wind, my laughs slowing to a joyous smile.

"It's almost like flying," I call, turning a bit to look back at Godric. I open my arms out, tossing my head back to bask in the feel of it.

To be a bird. So free. Such fun they must have, dancing about in the air. Not bound to the ground as I. I felt us slow gradually. My eyes snapped open, hands dropping to grasp the car again. Bon Temps.

Where were the cops?

I looked around, slowly sitting back down. Godric said nothing, looking around. Eric was blank faced as we pulled up at the bar I knew well. I was out, jumping over the side of the car as Eric got out by the door. Excitement flooded me as I skipped toward the door.

Oh, a burger sounded so good right now. I hope La was working today. He made the best burgers ever. People got a bit quieter as I stepped in, stopping to look around as my hands raked at my windswept hair.

"Sam," I chirp as I bounce over to the bar.

Sam was quiet, looking at me oddly, just as a few other people were. I pay no mind, leaning on the bar and beaming.

"What are the chances of me getting a pitcher of Bud and an order for a burger and fries?" I wink.

"Depends," he says as he shifts, smiling a bit warmly at me. "What do I get out of it?"

I hum, finger playfully going to the corner of my lips as I feigned thought. "Maybe my patronage or…." I hum again. "I could eh.. yeah I have nothing." I shrug.

"Lafayette, Burger and fries," Sam calls as he steps to the end of the bar and looks toward the kitchen window. Sam smiles at me, motioning at me with a pointed finger. "You owe me."

"I do? Will this cover it?" I hold up a bank card. Eric's.

Sam gives a chuckle, pushing a full pitcher and frosted glass at me. "Go have a seat. I'll bring your food out when it's done."

"Thanks, Sam," I chirp, blowing an air kiss at him.

I spotted a booth near the window, away from the doors and easy reach of the bathrooms. My beer was taken from me before I could sit.

"This is what you ordered?" Eric almost sneers in distaste at it.

I set the glass down, slipping into the booth next to Godric. I guess he thought it was best I set on the edge so I could get up when I needed to.

"So?" I huff, giving him a pouty face. "I happen to like Bud with the burgers here. La makes the best around."

"Where's our drinks?" Eric lightly pushes while lazily pouring the beer into my glass.

I happily pulled the glass back with both hands. Sam always gave me this huge mug with a handle, frosted and awesome looking. I had tried to steal it almost every time. It was big in my hands, lots of frothy foam on the top. Or 'head' as Sam called it. A sigh left me as I took a drink of it, ignoring the feel of the foam on my upper lip.

"Chush," I gush, rolling my eyes. "Like I would know what you want."

"Kathy."

I look up. "La!" I say happily, jumping to my feet.

He let me give him a hug, lightly patting my back. He had another male with him. I pull back, looking to the other man with a questioning look. He had light eyes, kind and pretty. His brown hair was gelled up in spikes on the front. Trimmed facial hair. He had to be Hispanic. He was looking at me oddly too, looking over me like there was something I couldn't see.

"What chu doin' here?" Lafayette asks while looking over what I had on. "In that number? You look like a wild child."

"She is," the other male says with a small laugh, a warm and charming smile on his face. It lit his eyes.

I laugh a bit, shifting back a bit to look him over. My hand motioned around him, as it feeling for something in his radius. My small smile turned to a full smirk.

"Oh really, La? Where ever did you find him?" I glanced away from the new man for only a moment to look to La. He gave a noise, all but rolling his eyes.

"Girl, you is cracked." He looks between the male and I before holding his hands up in a feminine flare of drama. "Jesus, this is Katherine. Katherine, Jesus." He said the name as English speakers would.

"I assume he means Jesus," I say after a beat, holding out a hand to him. The name came out as the Spanish would pronounce it. "Call me Kathy."

"It's a pleasure," he says with a small laugh. Our hands met, his hand dwarfing my own. A warm tingle came from him. I could tell what he was easily. Not like I expected others to see it. "Lafayette hasn't said much of you, though."

I tilt my head and laugh, hip jutting a bit as I look to the man in question. "Eh, not like I expect La to go around talking about me. I'm not even his taste."

"Girl, you is all tastes, but nasty aint one," he quips.

I laugh, hands lifting to cover my mouth a bit. "Ya, ya. Trust me," I say with a wink at Jesus. "I like having a male around who tells me it all honestly and blunt." I totally forget about my dinner mates, looking more toward the new man.

"So how do you know Lafayette?" Jesus asks with a motion of his hand at our mutual friend.

"Met him here. When I moved to town this was the first place I found with good food. And honestly, it was when I got this amazing burger." I make a gesture with my hands to emphasize the word. "I asked Sam, who was used to seeing me in everyday, who the cook was. And from there on out, I worship any and all food this man puts before me."

"Ya, and chu best tip yor chef."

We laugh, a light feeling around us. "So do you work around here?"

"No," I say quickly. "I work in Shreveport."

"Really? Isn't that a bit of a drive?"

"Not when she's paid as well as she is," a dry voice says with small annoyance from behind me.

I turn, stepping to the side so the men could all see each other. La nods at Godric, having seen me with him before. He frowns a bit at Eric. Eric smirks at them, the attention on him.

"Ya?" Jesus asks with a small frown.

"Oh, pardon my manners," I gasp. "Jesus, Lafayette. These are my boss and best friend. Eric and Godric. Meet Jesus and my favorite chef Lafayette."

"We've met," Eric says with a toothy grin at La.

I huff, swatting at his arm. "Stop it. This is my night. I wont have you being mean."

"Mean? I've done nothing wrong."

"Eric," Godric says in warning.

Godric didn't offer a hand but did give a friendly nod at the men.

"It is nice to meet some of Kathy's friends."

"It's nice to finally meet you, Godric," La says with a wave of his hand. "She talks about you all the time. Godric this, Godric that."

I blush, nervously laughing. "I do not."

"Oh, girl. If I didn't know chu betta, I would think chu was head over heels for him."

"Are you two dating?" Jesus asks with a motion of his hand between Godric and I.

"No," Eric says quickly, looking right at me. "Kathy doesn't 'date'."

"Why not?" Jesus asks as he looks back at me.

I was blushing, not meeting eyes now. This was getting a bit awkward, but I knew he was just being friendly. Plus he was a really nice guy.

"Uh.." I rub at the back of my head.

"I know a few people you might like," he offers, shifting with his hands in his pockets.

I smile at him. "No. That's fine. But thank you. I am just not really looking for somebody at the moment. Too much going on as it is." I laugh, brushing my hair from my face. "Not like I could ever understand how to date."

"Oh, come now," Jesus chuckles. "It's as easy as breathing."

"Oh leave it, Jesus," La butts in, grabbing hold of his shoulder to lightly push him away. "We've taken enough of her time. I've got to get that burger cookin'."

"It was nice meeting you," I say quickly, offering out my hand. "I wish you both the best."

"You too, Kathy," Jesus says before Lafayette pushes him back into a seat at the bar.

I spot Sam at the bar. He lifts his brows at me, giving a pointed look at my group. I smile and roll my eyes. Sitting again, I pull my beer close to take another drink.

"I like him," I state after a long pause at the table. Godric just looked over the room, taking in the people and how lively it was. Eric looked to me as if I was the entertainment, ignoring those around us. "Nicest fella for Lafayette."

"He is nice," Godric says. He was used to my conversations. I didn't demand his full attention, just that he not be too quiet. Be a tiny bit social with me.

I give a hum, smiling happily as I look out the window at the night. A waitress finally came to our table. Blonde.

"I'm Holly and I'll be your waitress tonight," she says with a smile.

She wasn't even bothered by the two vampires with me. She smiled the same at us all. She glances back toward the kitchen, making it so we could easily follow her words.

"Sorry. Didn't want to break up the greetings."

"Oh, that's fine," I laugh.

"Sam says you ordered food?"

"Oh. Yes," I say quickly, looking to the kitchen. "Habit sorry."

"No!" she says with a bat of her hand. "That's fine, sweety. But I thought I should come see if you guys want anything? We have O neg and pos, and a few B negs."

I smile over at Godric. "An O negative would be fine," Godric speaks up.

"B negative, warm." Eric didn't really look at her, watching as I filled my glass again.

"I'll have those right over," she says happily while snapping her pad away into her apron.

She left with a twirl of her feet, moving for the bar. I look to Eric. My look sours a little.

"You are such a Debbie Downer," I mutter at him.

His brow twitches at me. "We are in a dump."

I gasp at him, offended. "Well excuse me for not liking to be at your dirty place all the time. Just because there isn't the smell of sex and people throwing themselves at you doesn't mean you have to be a stick in the mud. I like to come here and enjoy the ambiance."

"There is no 'ambiance' here, Kathy," he says with dripping distaste.

I huff, pointedly turning away from him. My eyes went right to Godric, the silent member in our party. His eyes grey green eyes on mine as soon as I had turned to look at him. I smile warmly, reaching out to touch his shoulder softly.

"You never did tell me where you are staying."

"Mostly with Eric," he says with a small smile back, looking to his childe at the mention.

"You could stay with me tonight," I chirp quickly, lightly grasping his arm. "I put light tight curtains on all my windows the other day."

"You were gone," Eric points out.

I huff, rolling my eyes as I glance at him. "Before we left."

"It would not be right for me to stay with you, Kathy."

"Why?"

Eric gave something akin to a snort looking out the window quickly after. "He's old fashioned."

I blink, looking at Godric. "What does that have to do with it?"

Eric makes that noise again, laughing a bit as he looks at me mockingly. "And you are oblivious."

"If you stay we can hang out longer. Oh! You can teach me some card games. I only know the basics of War and Poker."

"I do not think it would be wise for me to stay, Kathy. You are a single woman."

I giggle, hand over my mouth as I bat a hand at him softly. "It's 2013, Godric. Most women behave like the tramps from our time. Who is to judge me? Sam? Sookie? Bill? Pam? Eric?" I giggle again. "Like any of them have room to judge."

"I do not want to ruin-"

I sigh, rolling my eyes. "Most people in this town avoid me. Not like I'm around much. I could almost pass for a vampire with the way I look. Plus this is a backwater town. They thump their Bibles then go home to drink and sin openly."

"Kathy."

My eyes flick over to Eric. He opened his mouth to speak, but stopped as our waitress came with a trey. Sam next to her. I smile at Sam but still give a curious look. Holly quickly placed the Tru Blood before both men. Two shots were set on the edge of the table. She gave me a wink.

"Happy Birthday," she says before slipping off to another table.

I furl my brow as I look at Sam. He gave a laugh, picking up one of the shots.

"To the birthday girl," he says. I reach out to the shot, looking it over. A dark liquid.

I sniff it, pulling back quick. Jack. Sam laughs at the look on my face. "You're lucky I'm not demanding the customary shot per year."

I laugh nervously, sharing a look with Godric. Godric lets out a chuckle. He knew the joke I was having.

"Thank the stars then, Sam," I say while holding my shot out to him. He taps my shot before we both down them quickly. I make small gagging sounds before downing the rest of my beer fast to rid of the aftertaste.

"So what are the plans for this belated birthday party?" He didn't even talk to Eric or look at him. His eyes mainly stayed on me, only glancing at Godric once or twice in his whole time here at our table.

"No plans yet," I state while pouring the last of the pitcher in my glass. "Just having fun out and about."

"Not dancing tonight?" he asks with a laugh.

"Not here." I wink. "You got on me last time I tried."

"No dancing here," he says with his hands held up as if to ward off anything.

"Sure. Hey, can you tell Lafayette to add my usual to the order?"

"Hungry today?" He laughs.

"Ravenous," I say with a toothy grin.

Sam gives one last nod before leaving me.

Eric's eyes got wide as Holly and Sam brought out two trays with food on them. A salad, onion rings, burger and fries, mozzarella sticks, and chicken strips. I beam like a child at the candy store as it was all placed on the table.

Holly winked at me before leaving. I let out an evil sounding giggle before trading the onion rings before me with the salad and chicken. I was quick to pour the Italian dressing over the bowl.

"How in the hell do you plan to eat all of this?" Eric demands while watching me.

"Well, first I plan to eat this salad. Then move on to the mozzarella sticks and chicken. From there it is all up it the air."

Godric gives a chuckle. He had seen me eat like a starving werewolf before.

"You'll get fat," Eric states, trying to sound smug.

I giggle, finished with the salad. "No I wont. I am stuck at this size for all of eternity. The luck of being me."

Eric firmly frowns at me as he watches me devour all of my food. It was a good half an hour later, neither of us talking. I had only a few fries left.

"You have ruined all views of feminine grace," Eric snips. "Cow."

I grin after dabbing at my face with another napkin. "Moo."

Eric hadn't even touched his drink much at all.

"Just think if I was a vampire," I joke. "I'd have to buy a factory of my own."

Godric was quiet, looking down at the glass bottle, a slow and pathetic chuckle coming out.

"Thank God you are not then," Eric says with a frown. "Not that you could become one of us."

I frown at him, tilting my head. "But one of us has."

Eric sobers fast. Godric's head whips up to look at me, surprised. I hardly paid them mind while stacking the dishes for better pick up.

"What?" Eric pushes. "You're kind can be turned?"

"Hm?" I ask while looking up. I had forgotten what subject we were on. "Oh. Yeah. And so can Fae." I shrug, leaning back in the seat to sigh with how full I was. "It's just rare."

"What do you mean?"

My eyes slowly turn to Eric again. "Well, why change us? I mean my kind. We live as long as you, if not more. I, like most of my kind, don't see the point of turning. Unless you are crazy." I laugh, slowly looking to Godric.

He looked to be frowning a bit at the information. "I had not known you lived so long."

I sit up, serious as I looked at him. "Godric. I am seventy eight years old. I will never look it. Did you expect me to just age slowly or something?"

"I had not thought much on it."

I tilt my head. "It's kind of why mortals thought we were gods so long ago."

Godric looks out the window in thought. I sigh, sitting back again and looking toward the roof. "Besides. It hurts to get turned." I give a shiver at the thought. "I could never fathom what would make one of us do it."

"You could be stronger," Eric points out.

I laugh, letting my head turn a bit to look at him. "If I wasn't so drained of Harmony, I would be strong now. Okay not like able to lift a truck or such. But, eh."

"Would you like to go to the woods?" Godric asks as he slowly turns to look at me.

I let out a heavy sigh. "I don't know what I want to do. But that does sound good."

My eyes close as I picture the feel of the woods. My eyes snap open. "I want to swim."

"Swim?" Eric questions, brow lifting. "Do you even have a swim suit?"

"I do," I state haughtily. "I used to swim with Courtney in the summers."

"It's old then."

"Chush," I huff. "It still servers the purpose and fits."
