"How'd it go with Natsu the other day?" Yuna asks while Lucy helps her run her lines. "I thought things were good since you weren't addressing it, but you seem like you're still really upset."
Lucy sighs and closes her script. "I wasn't very good with following your advice."
Yuna bites her lip. "Don't worry about it too much. What I said still stands. Once everything blows over, the two of you will come to your senses. You know mistakes happen, everybody makes them. And Natsu isn't one to judge, he makes a lot himself."
"But Natsu doesn't make big mistakes. He makes the stupid silly ones that leave people laughing and loving him more."
"Well he made a big mistake not reconciling with you yesterday." Yuna points out with a grin. Lucy rolls her eyes but smiles appreciatively to her friend. Yuna continues, "I don't know what you need, and it's none of my business, but I know you and I know Natsu. Not too well but well enough to know that the two of you are the kind of people that bicker all day but love each other to the moon and back."
"If that's the metaphor you're going to use then the moon must be pretty damn close."
Yuna scrunches her brows. "The point is that your love is a special kind of love! Take it or leave it. And also, every couple has fights, it's normal. It shows that you two love each other enough to go at each other's throats. Sometimes it's unhealthy but stumps in the road here and there are okay."
Lucy rubs her temples. "I don't know. I just want to stop thinking about it. But until we can finish this mission I'm stuck with him in the most awkward situation ever. Is there a chance I can stay in your apartment with you instead?"
"I kind of want to say no just so you'll have to face Natsu. However... That's a bit cruel so sure, you can stay with me." Yuna agrees.
"I'm sure Natsu will be grateful for that as well." Lucy says more to herself than Yuna. Lucy snaps herself out and opens the script on to their previous scene. "Okay, moving on to scene 15."
"I can't believe it." Jasmine says with exasperation. "You didn't think I'd actually let you help out in here, did you? You, the most clumsy and dimwitted person in all of Fiore. All you would do is spoil the rest of our props or cause the whole building to catch on fire. No thank you."
"Listen here Jasmine, I'm here as part of my job okay. I'm not volunteering to help so I can be anywhere near you because trust me, I would rather spend my whole life chained to the Ice Princess back in Fairy Tail. So just tell me something to do so I can continue on with my job." Natsu says, exasperated himself.
Feeling slightly surprised and also confused by Natsu's sudden outburst, Jasmine looks down at her clipboard. "Fine, we need to take all the props in the blue boxes back stage and the red boxes on stage to set the last things up. Is that easy enough for you?"
"Perfect, perhaps I should shine your shoes as well." Natsu says sarcastically before heading over to the blue boxes. As he picked one up, he paused and set it back down. Facing Jasmine once more he spoke. "Just answer this one question. How did you see Ken and Lucy kiss?"
Jasmine smirks. "Somethings you don't need to know about, Natsu."
"Well you told half the story, might as well finish it up with a clean and crisp bow, right? Or would you rather leave it dirty like the rest of you?"
A laugh escapes Jasmine's lips. "Natsu, you are just a charmer, really. I happen to know because if you would have played close attention, you would have noticed George was acting as a servant. Ken dismisses and hires new servants nearly everyday so he didn't notice anything. Lucy was too emotional and mentally unstable to pay attention, and the rest of you are just plain idiots."
"So you had your minion spy on Ken and Lucy? Whatever happened to that kid anyway?" Natsu questions, folding his arms in front of him.
"We don't have time for an interrogation Natsu. You said you're here to do your job. Well I told you I need those boxes moved right now. Otherwise I'm gonna have to ask you to leave so I can do my job."
Natsu gives Jasmine a slight glare before agreeing. "Fine. But this isn't over."
"Over like your relationship?"
Natsu shakes his head and and picks up a blue box. Without looking back at the purple haired girl we exits the room.
"Can we go rehearse on stage now? I think it would work more effectively if I use the props." Yuna suggests, stifling a tired sigh. Her eyes hang a little droopy as she reads her lines another time. Raising a brow at Lucy in question, she closes her script. "I'm going to lose my mind."
"Sure. I guess I'll just watch you." Lucy answers.
"Great!" Yuna pipes cheerily, hopping up and pulling Lucy along behind her. "I know there's still stuff that needs to be done with the props and there's still some saboteur on the loose, but I don't want to think about it anymore!"
Lucy nearly stops walking in realization. "Right! The saboteur! I completely forgot!"
Yuna takes a look over her shoulder at Lucy and rolls her eyes. "Please, I said I didn't want to think about it."
"For me it's better than thinking about anything else..." Lucy mutters. She remains silent the rest of the way to the stage. Taking a seat at the front, she watches Yuna climb on stage and get into character. Lucy's eyes travel up to the ceiling as she stares at the ceiling beam she'd fallen off of a day ago.
That voice...
"Maybe the moon didn't work... But perhaps a fall on the head will?"
... Why does it sound familiar?
Lucy is snapped out of it when she hears clapping. She looks in front of her to see Natsu applauding Yuna's acting. "Good job Yuna!"
"Natsu, what are you doing here?" Yuna asks a bit awkwardly, given the situation.
Natsu scoffs. "The purple haired witch sent me to run some errands. You're getting better. Need any help running your lines?"
"Actually, Lucy's helping me..." Yuna says, motioning to Lucy's direction.
Lucy feels her heartbeat quicken, but ultimately feels it shatter when the smile on Natsu's face is gone an instead he seems ready to flee the scene. However, before any words can be exchanged, Lucy feels an ache in her head, one that causes her to groan and hold her head.
It was worse than any headache, it was as if her head was slowly being split open. Panic surges Lucy. She's never had this happen to her before.
As quickly as it came it was gone. Lucy gasps and looks up to see the worried faces of Yuna and even Natsu. Standing up quickly she turns to leave. "I have to go."
"Wait, Lucy-" Natsu calls out to her, only to be ignored as Lucy dashes out.
What's going on? What was that? Lucy wonders, heading out of the theater and into the streets. She needs to buy a healing potion, in case that happens again. It was a pain far worse than any other pain she's had to face. If there was even a slight chance she'd have to endure it again, she wasn't taking any.
There was now a dull ache, a reminder of the weird event that just took place. Every now and then it felt like a sharp knife was poking her brain. Lucy clenched her fists and shut her eyes tight. She walked faster until she found a potion shop. Walking up to the worker, Lucy says, "Hello, my name is Lucy. I just had a really bad migraine, do you have anything strong enough for it?"
The old lady stares at Lucy. "You're not coming from that theater... Are you?"
Lucy furrows her brows. "What does that have to do with anything?"
"Dear, heed my advice," The old lady searches through her shelves and selects a blue potion. She hands it over to Lucy. "And let this be a sign to not return to that wicked place."
"What do you mean? Is there something you know about Galaxia Palace?" Lucy questions.
The lady gives Lucy a nonchalant smile before dismissing her. "Have a nice day young lady."
Lucy pouts slightly as she exits the shop. A strange encounter can only mean bad things-ouch! Lucy thinks, holding her head once more. Taking a sip out of the bottle, she feels the pain lessen. Lucy sighs in relief. Lucy looks back at the shop. No matter what that lady was warning her about, Lucy has to finish the job.
Which means yes, Lucy was going back. Because Yuna counted on it. Because she herself counted on it.
Because Natsu was counting on it.
A/N: Guess who's back? Back again? Guess who's back? For the win? (watch that get copyrighted, oopsies.)
I know this is short and I didn't update in a long time and I should have been updating, so I give you the right to slap me (one at a time, please). I have no excuses so... I really hope you guys haven't lost interest in the story or faith in me... :(
I hope you guys understand that during school updates will be less frequent, but school comes first. However, I WILL NOT be abandoning this story. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. I can't tell you when the next update will be but I'll try to make it sometime next month. I know that sounds bad but it's better than saying it will be out tomorrow and it won't be, right?
And last thing that is VERY IMPORTANT. I have an idea. I've received plenty of messages from you guys telling me what you're going through and how you can relate to my story. It feels great to have such a fantastic group of people as my readers. SO I was thinking, if you guys want to talk to other who feel the same way as you, you could contact another one of my readers! Don't be shy, you can look for someone through the reviews and if someone's review says anything along the lines of "I can relate" then try contacting them. It feels good knowing someone else cares but it feels even better knowing someone else understands your situation and what you're going through.
So if you guys want to try it out, please do. And let me know how many friends you make. I really hope this idea can bring you guys close and we can become a community. A family. Honestly that would be the greatest thing I could ever imagine and I wish you guys all the best.
And of course you guys are ALWAYS welcome to message me as well! I'm not always on this site so that's why I want all of you to be close and have others to talk to. But you have to know that I'm still here to listen and here for you. Every single one. I love you guys.
