Akihiko woke up before the boys, the clock claiming it a little after five in the morning. She was unsure if Seijuro had made another appearance after she'd fallen asleep, or what time Nitori had gotten back last night, though she discovered the boy asleep in the top bunk when she stood up from the bed, standing on her tiptoes to check. She'd fallen asleep with her glasses on, though luckily they were still intact, smudges on the lenses; she yanked the towel from her hair, and tangled waves fell down that she huffed at. After cleaning her glasses, she checked her phone, and saw that her mother did not call again, and that Suzeme had messaged the group chat on Facebook not fifteen minutes ago. Unplugging her phone from its charger, she grabbed her brush from her bag and went into the bathroom; unlocking her phone and clicking on Facebook's icon, she began brushing out unrelenting tangles, brown hair falling around her as she 'shedded', as Reika had named it - hair almost always was in the sink.
'So I went out with Haru last night.' Suzeme said; out of Akihiko, Suzeme, Bunko, Asuka, Lando, Daichi, and Hisao, only Suzeme and Akihiko were online so early in the morning.
'Did you guys go to the movies?' asked Akihiko, yanking at her hair, able to get all the tangles out finally. She sighed in relief that that was over with, and walked out to her bag, grabbing her straightener and the make-up she had shoved in the front pocket of her bag, just eye-liner and mascara. Her phone dinged with a reply as she returned to the bathroom, plugging in her straightener.
'Yeah. And then we went back to my house, and Haru swam in the pool some.'
Akihiko stifled a laugh, not wanting to wake the sleeping boys.
'Sounds about right. So, are you two dating? Or what?'
Lando Layton suddenly popped up with a reply, and, when Akihiko checked who was online, the girl's profile picture of her and Makoto was there, green light beside it.
'Do you guys not realize that it is 5:30 in the morning, and that some of us are trying to sleep? My phone will not stop going off.'
Hisao Arakaki also put in his two-cents, 'So everybody knows i do not give two shits about your guys relationships with gay swimmers.'
Bunko Suzumi became present, 'You're just jealous that Lando's relationship with her gay swimmer is better that yours had been with her.'
And there was Asuka Shimizu, 'Let's not forget that theirs had barely lasted eighteen hours.'
Daichi Yamada was obviously there, his name appearing below messages, saying he had seen each and every one, though he did not speak up.
'Gayyyy!' said Suzeme, and Akihiko smiled down at her phone.
'We're all awake now, so what the hell happened with you and Haru? Are you guys together?' questioned Lando.
'Daichi Yamada left the conversation.'
'Did anybody else just see what the ginger did?' asked Asuka.
'Don't worry, he's just jealous. I'll invite him back after Suzeme tells us what happened.' typed Akihiko, beginning to straighten her hair as he phone dinged with a response.
'After he'd swam, I walked home with him and it started raining once we'd gotten back. He asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I ended up staying the night at his house, because it was storming so bad. I'm still there now.'
'What a coincidence!' said Akihiko, holding her straightener in one hand in her phone in her other, 'I also stayed the night at my gay swimmer boyfriend's place!'
'I didn't.' said Lando.
'I'm not dating a gay swimmer.' Bunko said.
'Me neither.' Asuka joined in.
'What about you, Hisao? Do you have a gay swimming boyfriend?' asked Suzeme.
'I'm going back to sleep.'
'That means yes.' said Akihiko; she burnt herself with the tiny straightener and cussed, sitting her phone down, forcing herself to do one thing at a time.
Hisao saw her message, though he did not respond.
'Did Haru really just say yo be my girlfriend? Because that doesn't sound like him.' pointed out Lando, and Akihiko imagined Bunko and Asuka nodding their heads in agreement, thinking that this was a good point.
'Well, no, not 'yo be my bitch.' He just asked and I said yes.'
'Wanna come over to my house? We can all spend the night and watch Nicholas Sparks movies and talk about our gay swimming boyfriends.' said Lando.
'Can't.' Bunko declined, 'I'm going out with Rei tonight.'
'I DON'T HAVE A GAY SWIMMING BOYFRIEND.' Asuka brought up before any could comment on Bunko's plans.
'Nagisa wants you, okay, we already discussed you, and he's the only gay swimmer left for you.' Lando said, and, a second after she'd sent the message, she sent another, 'Wait, you're going out with Rei tonight? So then everyone has a boyfriend except for Asuka!'
'He isn't going to ask me out, we're just going out as friends! And, as for Asuka, there's the Captain of Samezuka. What's his name?'
'Mikoshiba!' said Akihiko, taking hold of her brush to comb out a tangle she missed.
'There's Nitori, too, but it has to be Nagisa! It'll be awkward if he's the only Iwatobi swimmer who doesn't have a girlfriend. Besides, I though Mikoshiba had the hots for Kou?' Suzeme said.
'We're done talking about this, Asuka WILL date Nagisa, whether she likes it or not! We can talk about it later today. Are you guys coming over?'
'If you can pick me up from Samezuka.'
'I'm sure grandma will.'
'I need a ride from Haru's, too.'
'Grandma's got this. What about you, Asuka, do you need a ride?'
The girls waited for a response from the shortest member of their group, who had been typing for five minutes before her message was sent.
'Yes, I need a ride.'
'Okay! See you guys later!'
All the girls sent a heart in response to this, Suzeme being the last one; her message was seen by everyone in the group including Hisao, and this seemed to be the end of the discussion. Akihiko locked her phone after exiting out of Facebook and continued straightening her hair for the next half an hour until she decided that this was the best it was going to look today; she unplugged it and her phone dinged, Asuka asking when Grandma would be coming to pick her up, to which Lando replied with two-thirty-ish.
Putting on make-up and brushing her teeth with the toothbrush she'd shoved inside her English folder, and after messaging Lando, telling her to text her when she was on her way, Akihiko went back to her bag and shoved all her items except her phone back in her bag. She sighed when she discovered no sign of Rin or Nitori about to wake up any time soon, the clock on her phone claiming it 6:15. She paced the room several times; glanced around, and could not find anything to clean, no dirty dishes; turned on the T.V., and, unable to find anything to watch, continued pacing. She was about to browse the shelf of books underneath the window when her phone dinged with a text, and she ecstatically unlocked her phone, seeing it was from 'Captain Seijuro!'.
'Aki, what are you doing in there?! You've been pacing for the past fifteen minutes!'
Only fifteen minutes? She grimaced, though did not respond to his message, glancing over to the bunk, and, after seeing both boys were indeed still asleep, she walked out of the door, making sure it was unlocked as she gently closed it behind her. Glancing around the hallway, she slowly walked across the hall to room 201, knocking gently on the door, biting her lip; she was sure Rin would scold her if he knew she was out, letting everyone knew she'd spent the night at the all-boys' school.
The door opened as she was about to turn around and scurry back to 210, revealing the golden-eyed Captain. He hesitated once he saw her, before smiled, ruffling her hair.
"Aki! What's up?!" he asked her, and she visibly cringed at his loud voice.
"Rin and Nitori are still asleep." she said as his hand retreated from the top of her head, and she used her fingers to brush her hair out.
"Oh; that's no fun! Is that why you were pacing? There's probably not a lot to do this early with them still asleep, come on!" he closed his door behind him, taking hold of the girl's arm and pulling her back across the hall to Rin and Nitori's room, opening the door, making it swing on his hinges.
"Rin!" he called, announcing his presence, "What're you doing, sleeping with your girlfriend here?!"
The boy on the bottom bunk blinked his eyes open, and Akihiko flushed, placing her hands to Seijuro's chest as Rin sat up in the bed, attempting to push the Captain out of the room, though it was already too late; Rin was awake.
"I'm awake now." grumbled the redhead, rubbing the back of his head; Seijuro laughed, taking hold of Akihiko's hands on his chest and removing them.
"Okay, there, Aki, you don't have to pace now!"
"Okay, thank you! You can go now, Seijuro!" she pulled her hands away from his, opening the door for the boy; he laughed on his way out, oblivious to the hole Rin was glaring in his back.
She closed the door slowly behind her, glad that this had at least not awaken Nitori. "Sorry..." she murmured, turning towards Rin, who still sat on the bed, "I just wanted to talk to him until you guys woke up, I didn't expect him to come wake you up." she shrugged, walking over to the bottom bunk and sitting down beside him.
"It's fine," yawned the boy, scooting over to make room for her, "How long have you been awake?"
"Since five."
Rin stood from the bed, stretching, "You should of woke me up."
"No, it was really early, and it gave me time to do my hair and stuff. I was only bored for a few minutes." she said, watching him go into the bathroom without a reply, closing the door behind him. She sighed, leaning back on his bed, clicking her phone to see if she'd gotten any new messages, and, seeing she hadn't, she sighed and locked her phone, hearing the toilet flush and the water run, Rin exiting the bathroom a moment later.
"Your hair is everywhere in there."
She felt her face heat up, "Oh - sorry! I meant to clean it up and then I got distracted... I'll clean it up before I leave, though." she said, looking up at him as he neared the bed.
He didn't reply, letting out an exasperated sigh; Akihiko was about to remark that she was sorry once again, when he sat down beside her, leaning in and kissing her, tasting strongly of mint toothpaste.
When he pulled back, the girl hesitated. "You alright? I'm sorry about waking you up and everything."
"I'm fine." said the boy, leaning forward and taking hold of his shirt that she wore, pulling her towards him, "Are you? You were acting weird last night. You're normally not this clingy."
She huffed, adjusting herself on his lap, "I'm not being clingy, I was cold last night and I told you that. And I'm not being clingy right now, I was perfectly fine with just hanging out with Seijuro until you or Nitori woke up. You're the clingy one here." She took hold of his hands on her shirt and pushed them away, moving her legs in a way that was uncomfortable for them both until she straddled him; she still held onto his hands, and he pressed his palms against hers.
"I'm not clingy." he objected, frowning, with a tone of annoyance slipping into his voice. He attempted to push her hands away from his, though she held on tight, pressing her palm back against his, the two attempting to shove the other away, to see whose arms would buckle first.
"Are you sure? Because I think you are." said Akihiko, smirking at him; she was unsure if the two were joking or being serious, though she hoped they were joking. Did she really seem clingy?
"You're the one who won't let go of my hands."
"Because you're trying to push me!" she objected, her shoulders beginning to shake as she continued pressing back. Rin smirked, watching her struggle to continue pushing his palm back, and he suddenly yanked his hands away; she gasped and fell into his chest, listening to the boy laugh.
"That was unfair!" she snapped, sitting back up to look at him; he simply snickered, placing his hands to her hips.
"That's okay." he said simply, pulling her against him tightly, her torso pressed with his, and he inclined his chin slightly, kissing her; she did not have enough time to sigh and roll her eyes as she'd wanted to do in response to him. She hesitated into the kiss, pulling away to take a breath before leaning in and kissing him, wrapping her arms around his neck, her hands moving up to tangle in his hair, pulling it from its ponytail.
His hands were slipping up her hips, fingers dangerously close to dancing inside her shirt, when there was a gasp from behind them.
"Hazuki-senpai!"
Akihiko pulled away, Rin gripping at her hips so she wouldn't fall back on the bed, making sure she stayed in his lap. The couple too involved in their kissing, they had not noticed the grey-haired boy who had woken up and had climbed down from the top bunk.
"A-ahh, sorry, Nitori-kun!" she was unsure what she was apologizing for, her face getting redder, "P-please don't tell my Mom!"
She yanked away from Rin's hands, sliding off his lap and onto the bed, Nitori looking at her with a confused glint in his blue eyes, head slightly tilted to the side.
"Ehh? What are you talking about, Hazuki-senpai? I was talking about your bag!"
Akihiko hesitated at that, leaning over the edge of the bed and picking up her bag; she was overwhelmed by the smell of lemons, and cussed, seeing a wet spot gathering at the bottom of the bag. Opening it, she reached in and grabbed the bottle of perfume, now almost empty, frowning. She huffed as she slid off the bed, taking her bag with her into the bathroom, hoping she could salvage folders and The Crucible by wiping them off.
Nitori followed after her, saying he would help her clean out her bag, and Rin huffed, plopping down on the bed, watching the two of them out of the corner of his eye.
Two-thirty rolled around, and there Lando was, texting Akihiko and telling her that she and Grandma were waiting in front of Samezuka Academy for her. Akihiko gathered up her things, shoving them back into her back which still had an overwhelming smell of citrus fruit, and waved a goodbye to Nitori, Rin already waiting at the door of the room for her. He walked her out, the two hand and hand, and, as they walked out of the doors of Samezuka, Akihiko pulled the collar of her Swim Team jacket to cover her chin.
"It's snowing!" she exclaimed, grinning at her puff of air that appeared in front of her as she spoke.
Snow floated lazily down around them; the first snow of the year, and, even though it wouldn't stick, the girl was still ecstatic, regardless that she was shivering.
"That means we'll get Christmas music soon." she chuckled, glancing over at the boy, "Oh... but I guess that means swimming season is really over, huh?"
"We can still have practices at Samezuka." he said, and her smile returned, the girl nodding.
"Ah, I guess that's true! That's good," she said, rubbing her thumb along his knuckles.
There was a honk from the parking lot, and their attention was drawn to a van, the window rolling down to reveal a disheveled Lando, hair done up in an even messier bun than usual.
"Jesus, could you guys walk any slower?!" she yelled out to them, "Come on, we still have to go pick up Asuka and Suzeme!"
Akihiko sighed, Rin squeezing her hand, "I'm walking as fast as I can, Lando!" she yelled back, before she stopped in her tracks, turning on her heel towards the redhead, wrapping her arms round his neck, his hands instinctively going to her hips.
"I'll see you later." she said, leaning in and whispering, "I'll text you later and tell you what's going on with Suzeme and Haru, okay? I can tell you're curious." she chuckled.
He hesitated, and then chuckled back, "Just a little bit. Tell me what's going on with Speedo Glasses and Bunko, too, okay?"
"You got it."
Rin leaned in, kissing her; she responded immediately, tightening her grip on him, and he wrapped his arms round her waist, squeezing her, lifting her just barely off the ground with the intensity of his grip.
"Yes, yes, I get it Grandma, they are adorable! Come on, fatty! Also, just to burst your guys' bubble, kissing in the snow is way less romantic than kissing in the rain!"
Akihiko pulled away from the kiss, turning towards the girl in the van, not letting go of Rin, "I would love to know when you and Mako have kissing in the rain and the snow!"
"I don't need Mako for that, I have Nicholas Sparks to teach me!" Lando retorted, and Rin chuckled, his grip still tight on Akihiko as he walked her to the van; Akihiko let go of him with a chaste peck to his cheek, opening the door and throwing in her bag, climbing into the backseat as Rin leaned down to look into the passenger side window.
"Can I help you, shark-boy?" asked Lando, scrunching her nose up at him in distaste.
He chuckled, reaching in, and, with one swift move, had removed Lando's ponytail holder, her hair falling down from her poorly done bun, unbrushed curls cascading down.
By the time she had pushed aside her hair so she could see, Rin had already turned on his heel, walking towards Samezuka with brisk steps.
"You better walk a whole lot faster, shark-boy!" bellowed Lando, and, against Grandma's objections, she opened the door and stepped out of the van, beginning to storm towards the redhead who, if anything, slowed his steps.
"Lando!" yelled Akihiko, opening her door, attempting to hold back her laughs.
"I am going to kill you! Give me back my ponytail holder, that's the only one I ha-"
Not watching where she was stepping, the girl walked on a slick portion of the sidewalk, slush beginning to form from the snow; her feet went out from under her, and she fell to her behind, Akihiko unable to keep her laughter in after that. Rin glanced over his shoulder to see what his girlfriend was howling at; seeing Lando attempting to stand on the ice, red-faced with anger, he laughed once before hurrying inside before Lando was able to gain back her footing.
Okay, guys, I have a question, regarding the boy OCs of Nostalgia; Allen, Daichi, and Hisao! Would you guys like to see them with another boy? I haven't decided who I'd pair with who if you guys were for this, but one would most likely be with Seijuro! Or would you guys like to see the Captain of Samezuka with Kou? Please tell me! :3
orangeporqupine: Thanks! :3
MachineWash: Haha, there will be a lot more! :D
