I see some of you caught on. However, allow me to say a few things to help you all out.
1. Yes the mastermind has been talked about before, even if it seemed like a joke.
2. (and this is the only hint you will get from me) The mastermind is not Siseal. There are several reasons, but I will not go into it to prevent anything about the real mastermind getting leaked. Lets just go with the story.
"I didn't know you could sing." Minoru looked at his father, standing up from the fog.
"You also didn't know I graduated from third grade, what's your point?" His father let out a sigh. Minoru was getting a bit tired of these visits and his father was tired of getting knocked down by his son.
So why did he always come back?
"So let's have some good news, can you give me some more info on the mastermind?" Minoru was met with silence. He could feel himself getting warmer, and it was getting rather humid, with the front spike of his mohawk falling onto his right eyebrow. "What in the world..?" His father looked with concern, stepping into punching distance.
"You may want to go." With a quick punch, Minoru watched his father leave.
"Gladly." Waking in a pool of sweat, Minoru noticed how much hotter it had gotten in his room. Looking at the thermostat, it said 96 degrees.
"Oh... he's not doing what I think he's doing..." A couple minutes later, Minoru was standing in the gym, Monokuma looking down on them with the same shit eating grin.
"So who knows what the motive is?" Kinnosuke stood barefoot, showing how short he was compared to some of the others.
"You're going to constantly increase the temperature aren't you?" Monokuma began to cackle, knocking some more sweat down Minoru's back.
"Before you have any wise ideas, I'm limiting your liquid supply and locking the door to the pool!" Minoru picked his feet up, they were beginning to stick to the bottom of the floor.
"The temperature doesnt go back to normal until I get a trial!" With that, he was gone, leaving the students in about half of their usual attire in order to stay cool, save for one.
"I guess I'm one of the few not really affected by this." Etsuko stated, with her in her regular attire. Minoru reminded himself she used to hang out in the rain forests, of course she wouldn't be affected as much as the others.
"It's about 107 now, we should probably see what our water supply looks like." Kinnosuke suggested, as they all agreed, trying to avoid the small puddles of sweat. Minoru hated the heat, but he didn't think that would be what drove people to kill, oh no.
The dehydration would do it.
"Oh, you son of a bitch..." Minoru said, looking inside the fridge. Instead of plenty of different drinks like soda and milk, all they had was a two gallon container of water. He looked over at Ana, figuring she might know. "How much water does a human need to drink a day?" She wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead, looking up at the ceiling to remind herself.
"It's about half a gallon." Kinnosuke scowled.
"That's about two cups for each of us a day. It's either dehydration that gets us, or each other." Minoru chuckled a bit, seeing that he was a few steps ahead of Kinnosuke in that regard. Minoru looked around the room, looking at how everyone was handling the constantly increasing temperature. Most of the class looked like they were glowing, just sweating enough to be sticky and uncomfortable. Some of the others, like Matsuzuka for example, appeared to be in a pretty decent sweat. The day had just started, and it looked to be a very long one.
Everyone split up, trying to stay cool. Minoru on the other hand, tried to explore, hoping to find something helpful. All he found was a small fan in the art room, possibly used for drying paints or effects. Taking it back to his room, he plugged it in and tried to think about this entire thing, trying to not stick to the chair he was sitting in.
"This is insanity, if the mastermind keeps up with something like this, then most of us will die from dehydration before anyone can kill anyone." Looking at the screen that Monokuma usually did its announcements on, it displayed the temperature, sitting at 120 degrees. "This rapidly rising temperature isn't helping much either." As if reading his mind, an announcement came on.
"Before any of you get too hot and bothered to kill each other, this thermostat only goes to 130, so you should be able to get up and kill someone!" Minoru shivered at the shrill screaming voice. Looking at his watch, he realized it was only 3 o'clock. A ding from his E-Handbook brought him back to reality, a new rule had been posted.
"All students must leave their rooms every day for Monokuma Aerobics. If they do not, their water rations will be forfeited." Minoru looked at the rule with anger and confusion. Calling back to the presentation from the Future Foundation, he remembered that because of the hot temperatures of the sauna, one of the killers handbook's had broken, if that's the case, why hasn't his broken as well?
"Monokuma, I have a question!" The bear came out of the air vent above Minoru, scaring the boy as the bear did a front flip to land in front of him.
"What is it?" After asking about the E-Handbooks, Monokuma laughed a bit, then explained.
"It's simple really, instead of the indestructible ones that dont handle heat very well, I got the ones that handle heat well, but can only take four hundred pounds of pressure, unlike the last ones that could take hundreds of fastballs and not get a scratch." The bear giggled and left, clearly amused with the suffering of the others. After going to get his two cups of water, which have been conveniently labeled, most likely either Monokuma or Ana's doing, he returned to his room. He laid down on the floor, letting the cool ceramic tile try to compete with the now 130 degree temps. It was going to be a long couple of days.
"Be careful with your sleeping, son. If you die in your sleep, I don't know what I might do." Minoru laughed, not only at his father's statement, but that he was still sweating in his dreams.
"You're dead, Father, what are you able to do, annoy them to death?" Minoru still didn't like the fact his father tried to make up for all those years of abuse, but he has been helpful...sort of.
"Someone has to carry on this family's bloodline, it has to be you." Minoru glared at him, with his father realizing what he just said.
"Son I'm..." With a punch, the dream was over, and Minoru prepped for another hot day inside Hope's Peak Academy.
After a bit of a delay thanks to some family issues, I realized I have a few things to bring up, and they are decently important.
Let's start off with the fact that in this story, I did not add in a category saying what that character would be in this story (Killer, Victim, you get what I mean?) For my next story there will be a category, but for this one, if you submitted a character, and on your app did not say otherwise, they are as likely to be a killer as everyone else.
Another thing is that for most of this chapter, I'm basing how each character would handle this environment based solely on what I know. I'm sorry if your character isn't handling this as you thought, if you would like, you can message me what would happen and I can fix it. Until then, we are gonna have some kids running and sweating to death. Yay...
