Chapter 28
#$%^&%*&^&&*
Jax Teller stepped off the elevator grinning. His blonde hair was starting to grow out since Savannah had seen him four months ago, and he couldn't wait to see his sister. It'd only been a short while since he saw her for Christmas, but he wasn't gonna turn down the chance to visit her when he and some of the guys had a run up here and where they were staying was nearby.
Of course, he knew it wasn't going to be all laughs and smiles. He needed to tell her about Opie getting pinched. His blood still boiled at the memory, but things had died down since that night and it was time to tell Savannah about Opie being in Chino.
He knew it wasn't going to be easy. She was gonna be pissed they waited this long to tell her about it. They hadn't wanted to do it too soon, and then doing it over the phone wasn't right. This was Savannah and it was about Opie, the guy who was like her other brother. It deserved a face to face talk.
Talking to one of the girls in the hallway, he found out what apartment his sister was staying in. Walking down the hall, he checked every number until he found the right one. He was about to knock when he heard noises inside. It sounded like she was hurt. He moved into action when he heard a slap. Taking his gun out from his waist band, he cocked it before kicking in the door.
The sight that welcomed him was not one he was expecting, nor wanted to ever see.
Some fucker had her bent over the side of the couch, pulling her hair, while he went at her from behind. All Jax saw was bouncing boobs and the guy fucking his sister. Fortunately, Savannah heard the door break in and jumped up, pushing the idiot off. "Fuck, Jax." She cursed, hurrying to grab a shirt off the couch and throw it on.
Jax saw red as he looked between the two of them. Juice was pulling up his boxers while Savannah was trying to get around the coffee table to get to him. "Mother fucker." Jax snarled before lunging.
Juice didn't have a chance to dodge before Jax grabbed him and threw him up against the wall. Pressing his forearm against his windpipe, it kept the unsuspecting Puerto Rican pinned. Savannah was quick to hurry over and tug on his other arm. "Jax, let him go! Let him go! He can't breathe!" She said in a panic.
Juice was trying to push him off, but it was no use. Jax was livid, and he wasn't backing down until he got some answers. "I heard slapping. I thought he was hurting you."
Juice made the stupid mistake of opening his mouth then. He was actually chuckling, to make it worse. "Definitely wasn't hurtin' her, bro."
Jax clenched his fist and swung, the impact sending Juice to the ground. Savannah screamed in surprise, covering her mouth as she looked between them. Jax didn't waste any time in going in for the attack. He hovered above the poor idiot and started punching him. Savannah immediately dove in, trying to pull him off. "Jax! Jax, stop it! Jax, please!" She begged, pleading with him to let her roommate go.
Jax simply shoved her off, sending her back onto the floor with an 'oomph.' Juice saw her hit the ground and snapped, finally fighting back. Brother or not, no one touched Savannah and got away with it. Grabbing Jax's shirt, he pushed as hard as he could and flipped them. All Savannah could do was watch the two in horror.
Straddling the blonde biker, he got in a few good hits before Jax kicked him off. Jax jumped to his feet, holding up his gun and pointing it at the defenseless man. He wasn't planning on shooting him, but it would get him to back off. Juice immediately raised his hands up in surrender. Guns weren't new to him, but it was the first time one had been pointed at him directly. "Jackson Teller, you put that away!" Savannah snapped, pushing past him to get to Juice.
Jax gritted his teeth, tucking his weapon in the waistband of his jeans. He didn't even have the safety off. "I wasn't gonna shoot him." He scoffed. Even if I wanted to, he thought to himself. He couldn't get the image of Savannah's boobs out of his mind, and he felt sick just thinking of what this fucker was doing to her a minute ago. She was his little sister, she wasn't suppose to be having sex. She was suppose to be playing with dolls and wearing pigtails.
Savannah knelt beside Juice, looking at his wounds he was now sporting. Juice pulled away from her worrying hands and wiped his chin sitting up. He wasn't going to back down just because he was little bruised. He'd been in worse fights before. Using the wall for support, he pulled himself up onto his feet. Jax had to admit, he was slightly impressed by this kid holding his chin up. He would have been more impressed if he didn't walk in on him fucking his sister.
Savannah stood nervously, not knowing what to expect now. Jax had just walked in on Juice fucking her, a guy Jax had no idea about. No one in Charming knew about Juice, and she had wanted to keep it that way, at least until she was ready. "What are you doing here, Jax?" She finally asked. She was seriously hoping her parents weren't going to come in next.
His glare lingered for a long moment before he glanced over to his sister. He could see she was worried and knew it was more about their parents making a surprise visit than him and this idiot knocking fists again. "Ma and Clay aren't with me, if that's what you're worrying about." He said, glancing quickly to Juice. "Hap and Chibs are with me. There was some trouble up here and Clay asked us to check it out." He explained the best he could.
It was club business, and that was all she needed to know. The fact an outsider was with her didn't ease the tension. What was Savannah thinking? Looking around the apartment, it was clear this guy wasn't just a one nighter. He'd been here for a while, living here it looked more like it. Savannah never mentioned getting a roommate on the phone though.
"You wanna explain what this douche is doin' here?" He asked, motioning to the half naked Juice standing beside her.
Taking a deep breath, she realized it was now or never to introduce the two. If she had to, she wished it could have been under better circumstances, but there was no forgetting each other now. Jax had seen him naked, and fucking his sister to make it worse. There was no forgetting that, no matter how much they both wished he could. "Um, Jax, this is . . . this is JC. He's in my mechanics class and works with me at the diner I was telling you about." She paused, biting her lip before turning to Juice. "JC, this is my older brother. Jax." She said, looking between them hesitantly.
Jax snorted. Yeah, that's what this kid is to her, he was sure. Fuck buddy more like it from what he saw. Savannah blushed, looking away from his knowing eyes. Juice looked from Jax to Savannah, not sure what was going on. He wasn't sure whether to be insulted or not from her introducing him as a friend. He was hoping they were more than that by now. Maybe it was just because it was her brother? Yeah, that had to be.
"You wanna explain why it looks like he's living here? Or should I ask dumbass over there? He seems to be the honest one here." Jax asked, shooting an accusing look to his sister.
Her eyes narrowed at the name. Juice was far from dumb anything. Yeah, he had his share of stupid moments, and it was usually when he let his mouth speak before he thought it through. "First of all, Jax, his name's Juan Carlos. Second of all, so what if he's living here? He needed a place to crash and I had the room." She shot back, narrowing her eyes.
It wasn't any of his business who she let live with her. It didn't affect him or the precious club, so it shouldn't be an issue. Jax saw the problem though. Savannah was letting some low life slide by free of charge. "It is if he's freeloading off you and getting some ass along the way." He said, sending a glare to the man in question.
It was time for Juice to defend himself now. Stepping forward, he motioned for Savannah to stop. He didn't need her to defend him. "I pay my weight around here just fine, and I'm not taking advantage of her, if that's what you're implying. We're attracted to each other, there's nothing wrong in fucking. Savannah's a big girl, she can say no if she didn't want to." He snapped, wanting to make himself clear.
He wasn't gonna sit back and let this guy make him out to be some loser living off Savannah while getting a regular fuck. He worked two 'official' jobs. He went to school. The only thing Savannah was doing was making sure the roof over his head was an actual roof and not the roof of his car. He helped pay for food and expenses, and the sex? That was going on before he moved in. It had nothing to do with him living there.
Savannah stood there in Juice's shirt, tense as if she was expecting one of them to throw another punch. Grabbing Juice's pants, she tossed them at him. "Get dressed and leave for a few hours." She instructed, giving him a look not to argue with her. He nodded, heading to his room to change.
Once he was out of the room, she turned to her brother with a glare. "You need to get out of here, and you need to explain to my landlord why my door is busted. None of this is your business, Jax." She scolded, giving him a little shove.
He wasn't going anywhere. If anyone was leaving, it was that dumbass. "It's not just club shit, Sav. I need . . . there was a problem. It's Opie." He finally said, his tone low as he avoided meeting her eyes.
Savannah paled at the mention of her best friend, her big brother. She hadn't heard from him since she left Charming, but she hadn't thought anything of it. No one had really put an effort into calling her, and she hadn't made any to calls home either. Thinking the worst, her eyes teared over and she covered her mouth shaking her head. It couldn't be true.
Jax seemed to realize where her mind had gone and he was quick to shake his head. "Opie's fine, kind of. He's not dead, if that's what you're thinking."
Confusion crossed her face then. If he wasn't dead, what was wrong with their friend? She couldn't think of anything else that could be wrong. Ope had a wife and two kids, he couldn't be careless about anything. "What the hell are you talking about then, Jax? What's wrong with Ope? Is it Donna and the kids? Are they alright?" She asked, not having any other realistic idea of what could be wrong.
Sighing heavily, he ran a hand through his blond locks. He was not happy about having to be the one to give her the news, but no one else would do it. It wasn't be right if anyone else did it, he knew that. It had to be from him. "Opie got pinched, Savvy. Kyle was suppose to have his back, but the little bitch got spooked when he heard sirens and took off." He explained, his eyes flickering between her and the hallway.
Last thing they needed was an outsider knowing about this. From the look on his sister's face though, some dork overhearing them was the least of his problems. Savannah looked down right pissed. "I'm gonna kill that little pussy bitch. I told you, Jax . . . I told you guys not to fucking patch 'em in! He was a whiny bitch in school, and he was a bigger whiny bitch while he was prospecting. I was a little kid and knew that. When I get my hands on him, I'm gonna-"
Jax saw her pacing, steam practically blowing out her ears, and knew he had to stop her before she broke something. Grabbing hold of her, he pulled her to a stop and made sure she was looking at him. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down." He told her, giving he a little shake to snap her out of it. "We dealt with it already. Kyle's been kicked out, kicked outta the club, and outta Charmin'. He's been gone for months." He explained, not realizing his error until the words had left his mouth.
Savannah's body tensed up. Months. This happened months go? Opie was already in prison and she was just finding out of about it? That was fucked up. "Months? Months, Jax! And you're just telling me now? You asshole!" She snapped, her anger getting the best of her.
"Savannah, will you just-whoa!" She'd thrown a book at him. "Sav, cool it! Come on, just hear me out!"
Savannah threw another book at him, she didn't want to listen to whatever crap reason he had for not telling her sooner. "Get out! Go away!" She screamed, throwing another book. He was lucky that was all she was throwing.
"Savvy, just stop and listen to me!" He said, holding his hands up as he tried to take a step closer.
"I said get out! I want you to leave, Jax! Now! Get out!" She screamed, pushing at him as hard as she could.
She wouldn't cry in front of him though. She just wouldn't. The fact he waited months to tell her about this hurt. It hurt more than she'd like to admit. Opie was her brother, her best friend, and they'd waited months to tell her, like she wasn't important enough to tell first.
Jax finally caved, holding up his hands. He knew when Savannah was pissed, she could be just as scary as their ma. He knew when to just back off and give her some time to process. "Alright, alright I'm going. We're staying at the clubhouse off 26th. If you need anything, you know where to find me. We'll be here for a couple of weeks. We'll send a prospect down to fix the door." He said, sparing her another look before leaving the apartment.
Her chest felt tight as she tried to breathe. Tears burned her eyes, but she fought to keep them back. She was not going to cry. She wasn't. Opie was in jail, and she was probably the last to know about it. Why hadn't anyone bothered to call her and let her know? How long was he gonna be there? Was he okay? Was he safe? Oh, god, what if he didn't have protection in there? He was as good as dead. He was-
"What the hell is going on, Sav?"
Juice.
She'd completely forgotten he was here. Turning around, she saw him standing there, his shirt in hand. He looked completely and utterly confused. He didn't know what any of that was, and she didn't want to tell him. What could she tell him? He knew nothing about the club, and that was how she wanted things.
Fucking Jax had to come and blow that plan out of the water though. Taking a deep breath, she knew couldn't keep that part of her life a secret. It was time to tell Juice about the club.
"I think we need to talk about some stuff, JC."
