Sesshomaru's Demon

Rin still wasn't happy with Sesshomaru, but some small part of her refused to allow her to just pick up and leave him again. That is what bothered her the most. Rin just couldn't understand why she didn't want to leave him.

"This is giving me a real headache." She sighed under her breath as she sat in class taking notes.

Why couldn't she leave him? It couldn't have anything to do with the whole mate thing, they hadn't even mated. Something she refused to allow to happen any time soon. If they were to mate before she figured out everything; then it would become physically painful should she choose to leave him at any point.

Naraku's death should've been the beginning of happy and care free new chapter in her life, but instead everything was still if not even more so complicated.

When will my life ever be normal?

Kagome finished typing up the last chapter of the book she was working on.

"You know I still have absolutely no idea what it is that you do for a living." Inuyasha said from where he sat on the couch doing some work on his own laptop.

"I'm a novelist." Kagome replied simply. She didn't go into anymore details than that.

"What were you studying in school?" He asked.

"Literature." She sighed sending her finished manuscript to the printer in his home office. Now I have the next four months to come up with another one. She thought.

"The novelist and the P.I., we sure are an odd pair." He chuckled.

Not may people knew what the half demon did to earn a living since he also worked within his father's company.

"What do you want to do today?" Inuyasha changed the subject.

"What's with all of the questions?" Kagome asked.

"Look, I know you're still angry with me even if you did agree to forgive me." He sighed, "I have promised to include you in the decision making, and that's going to be how this starts."

"How what starts?" Kagome gave him a confused look.

"Getting our relationship on the right track." Inuyasha said in a confident tone of voice. "Now if you don't have any plans we can go look at houses today."

Kagome was still a bit confused, but complied none the less.

"Good I'll go and call the real-estate agent." He smiled leaving the room.

Kagome just sat there wondering where his sudden spike of determination had come from.

Maybe he's bipolar…. She thought returning her attention to her computer.

Sesshomaru was very nearly ready with all of the necessary evidence he would need in order to deal with Rin's parents. There was plenty to have her father pt away for three life times, but that wasn't enough. He wanted to bring them both to their knees.

"And I only need one more piece of evidence to make that happen." He allowed himself to smirk darkly for a moment.

Once he had that last bit of evidence, he and Rin would need to discuss what to do about her parents. He wouldn't kill them if she turned out to be too opposed to the idea.

Rin needed time to herself to think about the direction that her life was headed in. Which for her meant a trip to her favorite ice cream parlor, and ordering the biggest sundae they sold.

During her last class of the day she'd come to realize that she wasn't really all that upset with Sesshomaru; despite what he had said, he had not taken her to his bed and mated with her right away. She'd begun to realize now that she was a woman that she was in fact developing feelings for the cold demon. Not quite in love, but she felt that things certainly had the potential of getting that far.

"Don't think too much into this Rin." She told herself, "you already have a pretty good idea what he thinks of you. So just sit down and talk to him."

Her ice cream finished; Rin, left an appropriate tip, and left the parlor. Sesshomaru once realizing that she wasn't going to remain home all day, had given her access to all of his cars, so she didn't need to fear being out so late in the evening. Rin drove strait home not wanting him to worry that she had just taken off again.

According to the book that Kagome had given her; Rin was now feeling the connection that she and Sesshomaru shared. Being that she was no longer a child she now noticed certain things about him that she hadn't paid any attention to before. Such as the yummy way he filled out a business suit, or the way his frozen amber eyes always seemed to soften when he looked at her.

Maybe there's more here than what I'm allowing myself to see. She pondered as home came into view.

"So did you see anything that you liked?" Inuyasha asked Kagome.

The two had checked out seven homes since the half demon had told the realator that price was no object and dropped his last name.

"I wasn't really into the mansions that he'd shown us." Kagome answered honestly. "I can't see anyone ever needing that much space."

"What about the manor home on Sesshomaru's end of town?" He asked.

"That one was nice. It would allow you to keep up appearances, and it doesn't waste space." Kagome agreed. "We could even add on if need be without compromising the original building." She added as an after thought.

"I hadn't even thought of that." The half demon muttered.

He was only thinking of the fact that she would more than likely end up pregnant once they mated, and the time to do so and solidify the bond was getting closer.

"I figured as much." Kagome sighed peacefully. "Given everything that's happened the last few weeks, it's not hard to figure out where your mind has been."

"Why don't you seem so angry anymore, or the slightest bit bothered by what I'm doing?" He questioned suspicious about how peaceful she seemed.

"Because I know about and understand demons." Kagome shrugged as though it wasn't a big deal. "We're mates, I'm not going to waste time trying to fight it, or deny the fact that you are trying." She added. "You asked me to give you a chance, and that's exactly what I'm doing."

"Thanks Kagome." He smiled. "I really wish that I'd met you before Kikyo."

"Hmmmm….Now that would've been interesting." She chuckled. "I was super emotional as a teenager. A real force to be reckoned with."

"I can't imagine it, you had to be the sweetest girl in school." He disagreed.

AN: Perhaps Inuyasha should watch his own show and see what his life would've been like with a teen Kagome by his side.

I promise none of my stories have been stopped or given up on, but as I now live in the world of adults high school is not the only thing keeping me busy, so I have to figure out how to add more free time into my schedule. Everything will be getting its justified updates now though, so keep an eye out.

I own nothing but the plot.
