KUROAI, HIMITSU: DEAD
- Nemris – Salmon, yes, delicious salmon. Well, I just have to kill off another one for it to end.
- ShaunBullimore – I forgot about the label again. It happened once with Isaiah's case, as well. Anyway, just wait and see who the culprit is!
- ZetaKuma – yes, I'm ready for action once more (and to finish this.) Hopefully, the twist, there will be.
- That1guyeveryonehates – you assumed wrong then, my friend. At first, I wondered who Enrique was, and then I remembered Eneres, so there. Let's see how Liam will get through this!
Gina
"Upupupu…who could've done it this time?" Monokuma questioned as he kicked Himitsu's body a couple of times before looking at as all. "…Well? No one's gonna answer?"
"Who would?!" Akane retorted.
"I agree, Monsieur!" Liam exclaimed.
The mechanical bear sighed as he shook his head. "Never mind, forget I asked." He walked to the back of the locker and hanged a key from a nail that seemed to have been driven there. He looked back at us. "I feel like you guys will get lost during the investigation, so I may, MAY, help you in searching for clues and all, but don't expect me to help you all the time!"
"That's new, Monsieur. What made you think of helping us?" Paylor inquired.
Monokuma chuckled. "Oh? So you want to die?" We all just responded with silence. He sighed. "Anyway, no one touches that key, alright? Or else you'll be punished!"
"Then why put it there?" Junko questioned.
"Eh, just don't." Monokuma replied. "Before I leave, I'll tell you what you should be solving during the Trial." He faked a cough. "First, you have to find out who killed Himitsu. Second, you have to guess who the Mastermind of this death game is!"
Akane exclaimed. "What?! Why do we have to know that too?"
Monokum just muttered something. He then had a crooked grin on. "Well, what if I say that if you solve those mysteries, then I'll set you all free?"
EH?!
"R-Really?!" Liam shouted.
I was a bit surprised, as well. "…Are you kidding?" I asked.
"Now why would I? But," He added hastily. "If you do not, then all of you will die!"
EH?!
Junko just had a neutral expression as he said, "Are you serious about that?"
"Plus, who would be the Mastermind?!" Akane questioned.
"I-Isn't that Mastermind you, Mo-Monokuma?" Mei asked as she trembled in fear.
"…Well, I'll be on my way! Make sure to put on your looking glasses and make sure you don't miss a thing! Good luck, gyahahahaha!" With that, Monokuma disappeared from a cloud of smoke.
Mei just stood there. "H-He didn't even answer my question…" She murmured a bit sadly.
"Anyway," Paylor gathered us all and said, "I feel like this will be our last chance to leave, and to survive."
Junko nodded. "We should not overlook even a single detail."
"It would be easier if we had more people to help us, you know, like Isaiah." Akane complained, folding her arms across her chest.
Liam sighed, nodding in agreement. "Oui, how many of us are left? There's only moi, Akane, Gina, Mei, Paylor, and Junko. That's like six of us left!"
"F-From fifteen to six…w-we lost a lot of people during this sadistic event." Mei muttered quietly. We all just seemed to look down in depression. We reminiscence the others, but we shook that thought off.
I then began, "We should make sure that we don't die after everything we and the others been through."
Paylor looked over at me and gave me a soft smile. "Let's get right to it then."
And so we began, our last Investigation.
"Upupupu, as I said before, I shall be of help when needed, but I will not help as often! Just make sure to look for the clues properly, alright? Good luck, students!"
Monokuma suggested that we all take a look around the Dojo first, since that's where our classmate was killed. Akane and Liam began checking around the targets, Paylor and Junko conversed, and Mei just stayed away from the body. I began looking around the place where Himitsu died. For what seemed to be awhile, I checked the body up close and personal. In his mouth was red liquid, which I wasn't sure why it was there. Maybe it's blood that he vomited out.
Junko walked over to me and said, "It could be poison."
"I guess." I responded. "That would explain the broken glass under Himitsu." I examined Himitsu's body, and he had no other injury to speak of, but that's until Junko pointed out that he had small cuts on his palm, probably from the broken glass as well. I looked over at the key that wasn't supposed to be touched and wondered what that is for.
"You should check out the other rooms." Junko insisted to all of us after ten minutes of searching around the Dojo as he continued looking around. So I did. Some others and I dispersed whilst I went to the Greenhouse next. As I looked around, Mei told me that she noticed that some flowers are gone.
She just whimpered a bit. "I-I think someone wanted to bury Himitsu-san and put flowers over his coffin."
I just stared at her. "…What?"
"N-Nevermind." She quickly stuttered as she moved around more. I walked over to the patch of flowers and a variety of plants. They all had names for each species, kinds, and types. There were sunflowers, jasmines, roses, thyme, azaleas, and more.
Liam exclaimed happily. "The chickens are just fine!"
"That's not important." I commented, and he just deadpanned. I went inside the tool shed inside the greenhouse. As I looked around, I saw nothing out of place, except a plastic bag filled of what seemed like broken, metallic and glass pieces, which was beside a hammer that was not in the toolbox. I went over to it, and saw that the toolbox had a lock-system with a number coding or something like that. I asked Paylor to check it, since he's the inventor.
"I have never used anything from this toolbox because it was locked." He stated. I asked the others as well, and their answers were almost all the same. I then asked Paylor to see what the things are inside the plastic bag. The moment he checked the contents, he furrowed his eyes a bit. "This is the Rosenbaum watch that Himitsu said was broken. I wonder what it is doing here." He asked as he held onto the bag.
"Hey Gina!" Akane called out to me. "Everyone else is busy, so I thought I come to you." With that, she began to drag me towards the very room which Monokuma told us not to go, but then we heard an announcement.
"Upupupu, you guys, you should all come and check the special classroom on the second floor. Hurry up!"
I just looked curiously at Akane. "Special classroom?"
Akane thought about it for a moment before snapping her fingers together. "Rika's room!" So with that, she and I rushed to that very room. As we entered, the others were already there, but they seemed to be shocked about something. I looked over at Mei and saw that she was trembling in horror. As I excused myself through my classmates, I finally saw what the commotion was about. In the center of the room was a dead, messed up body. Skin charred, a big hole punctured through the torso, whoever this was, they went through something horrible.
"Upupu, another one has died!"
EH?!
"W-Wait, that can't be, Monsieur!" Liam exclaimed. "All of us are still here."
"Well then, I guess Gina should explain then. Happy investigating!"
That's when everyone turned to look at me with curious expressions. "First of all, I did not kill anyone." I stated quickly and bluntly. I finally told them about Eneres being a possible student here in Seizon High, and as I was telling them, they seemed surprised.
"Wait, so there has been another student that we didn't know about that was trapped in here as well?!" Akane questioned.
Junko returned from examining the body. "It's a female that's been burned and punctured."
"We already know that." Akane muttered. "So, Eneres is a female, so…" After a few moments, she, Liam and Mei screamed.
"That's Eneres?!" They all shouted in unison.
"Quite possibly." I said as I looked over at the corpse. We do not know what Eneres looked like, so that body being her was the best guess we have. I walked over to the corpse myself and just saw some extra details, such as burnt blonde hair and smudges of make-up and powder.
"M-Monokuma, you evil bear." Mei tried to shout out, but couldn't as loudly. After we have done our investigation there and found nothing else, we climbed back upstairs, but we got sidetracked by Monokuma telling us to check the art room as he went ahead, but we spent ten minutes there and found nothing important there. As we were climbing again, Junko pulled me by the arm and dragged me all the way to the control room. Surprisingly, the door was slightly open.
"Why did you bring me here?" I asked. Junko didn't answer as he walked inside. I looked around and saw several screens and another door. "…How did you know this was open?"
"Early morning, that's why I was sleepy." He replied as I continued to look around. We checked the control room itself, where we saw a controller and multiple screens depicting what the cameras around the school see. We found a trapped door, but we heard a female scream outside, and we just rushed out there. We looked around, but then we heard the door behind us locked up.
I just sighed. "…We were tricked."
"Upupu, what are you two doing here?" Monokuma asked as he was right behind us, almost scaring us with his sudden appearance. "Oh, so you noticed that I left this, and a lot of other places, opened for investigation? Anyway, you guys should leave now!" The bear just left, but then tossed a picture at us.
I picked up the picture and saw that it was a class picture of us, all fifteen of us. That's strange, not sixteen? Does that mean that Eneres hadn't enrolled then? After that, Junko and I continued our investigation, but as we were climbing back upstairs to the rooftop, Akane had told us that Himitsu's body was gone. We checked the Dojo, and true, he was gone. "…What happened?" I asked.
Mei just moved around frantically. "I-I don't know, w-when we came back up here, h-he was already gone!"
"Along with the key, it seems." Paylor stated as he checked the lockers. Himitsu's body and the key just disappeared. Who would do that?
Mei just fidgeted anxiously. "S-Someone is planning to bury him."
"Where would he even be buried?" Liam asked, but then Akane snapped her fingers.
"You guys, that strange door down the corridor is unlocked! I tried to get you all to come there earlier! We can check it out now-"
"Hold on just a sec!" Monokuma just appeared out of nowhere again. "That room is terribly small, so only two people can go in! Once those two leave the room, I will lock it immediately." He then chuckled. "The best people for this task should be Liam and Akane, because they're so good at investigating stuff."
I just blinked at him whilst Junko said, "You're kidding, right?"
"I'm serious."
"No you're not." Paylor retorted.
Mei whimpered a bit as she said, "Let's have Gina-san and Paylor-san check." I was a bit surprised that I was chosen and not Junko.
Anyway, Paylor and I headed towards the room with Monokuma. He unlocked it with the key that he hanged in the Dojo. "You took the key?" I asked.
"Erm…yeah." He responded as he then unlocked the door. Wait, didn't Akane said that the door was already unlocked earlier? I was a bit confused as we entered the room. "I'll only give you ten minutes."
"Fine then, Monsieur Monokuma." Paylor replied as he looked around the somewhat cold and small room.
I walked over to a wall with several small doors, all with strange lights. "…Are these dead bodies?" I asked as I pulled one up, seeing a corpse covered in a white sheet. I pushed the thing back close as I began to count them.
"All dead bodies are brought here, Gina-chan." Monokuma said. "Just don't mess with them!"
I just nodded as I finished counting. There are only six present bodies in the morgue. It was strange, actually. Let's see: Kana, Maron, Serene, Rika, Heishi, Josephine, Isaiah, Asura, and then Himitsu. Who could be missing? I'm not sure if Eneres is here yet, but I would know if Monokuma just let me check. "Let's see…"
"Time's Up! Time to leave." Monokuma began whacking me and Paylor with a stick as he drove us out, locking the door afterwards. "Well, see you guys later." With that, the bear left.
I proceeded to head downstairs, but then Liam and Mei stopped me in my tracks. "Why?"
"The Headmaster's office is unlocked!" Liam exclaimed as we head there. Mei explained that Monokuma said that he opened it up, but only for a few minutes. We began looking around.
Liam is doing his best as well to investigate whilst Mei searched through some files. I heard the young maiden gasp in surprise as I approached her. "T-These are the other student files." She stuttered as I went through them as well.
I read through Junko's and Isaiah's first, and then I moved onto Paylor's. I noticed something strange about his file. In the file, his name is Paylor Rosenbaum, not Swzitch. "This is strange."
"A-Actually, it's the same with the student registrar." Mei stated as she held onto a folder and what seemed like Isaiah's notes. "H-Here, Paylor-sama is listed as Paylor Rosenbaum."
"Why would Monsieur say that his last name is Swzitch?" Liam asked, and I just shrugged. I moved onto Himitsu's, and then I skipped mine, and I moved onto Serene's. What caught my attention was her medical description. It stated there that she was physically fine, no injuries at all, but she had a mental state.
Mei and Liam looked surprised. "B-But she seems to do fine, w-when she was alive." Mei invoiced.
"Oui, why would she be mentally ill?" I shrugged again as I moved to Josephine's file. She did not have as much information, other than her title, basic details, how she became the Ultimate Florist and such. I sighed as I set all the files down and placed a finger on my chin, thinking. I noticed that Eneres had no file. Why is that it's hard to find information on her?
Ding, Dong, DING!
"Gyahaha! Alright everyone, stop what you're doing. Time's up for your investigation! It's now or never, so come on down to the Courtroom and get this thing rollin'!"
I looked over at Mei's terrified expression and Liam's gaping face. We all headed downstairs. We gathered into the elevator, and as we patiently waited to arrive at our destination, Junko spoke out, "There's hope, don't forget that."
Akane looked over at him curiously. "I guess this is a rare moment for you to be optimistic."
Paylor just smiled. "It is the last Class Trial, mes amis." I can't help but feel uneasy as the platform stopped moving. As we stepped out, we saw that the courtroom's interior had changed into that of bloody red and dark décor. There was also a hint of futuristic elements, for some reason.
Monokuma sat in his throne, swishing red wine inside his glass. "Upupu, welcome to the Courtroom! This is the last time this will happen, so be prepared to Live, or to Die." He said such in an eerie tone. We all took our stand in our respective stalls. I looked one last time at the crossed out pictures of our dead classmates before looking over at Monokuma as he seemed to have taken a spot in one of the stalls as well.
"What are you doing, Monsieur?" Liam inquired, a bit surprised.
"Well, seeing as this is the last time I get to be with my students, I would like to take part in this last Class Trial with you all." He said in a light, carefree tone.
"I keep on thinking that you'll just end up giving us the wrong information." I invoiced quietly, looking at the bear dully.
The bear just sighed. "Trust me or not, I'm joining!" With an enthusiastic fist-pump into the air and a creepy grin, he said, "This is it, the Final Class Trial of the Deathgame!"
One of us has killed our classmate, and we must secure our freedom, or else it's death for all of us. A trial for life, a judgment of death. Deception in life, a treachery in death. Betrayal for life, and betrayal for death. The riddles of life, and the mystery of death. Justification for life, and realization in death. Faith in life, and trust in death. The Final Class Trial to live, or the Final Class Trial to die.
Class Trial is in Session!
"Upupu, this is going to be a great trial!" Monokuma exclaimed.
"You're too happy about this!" Akane shouted, a bit irritated at the bear.
"Oui, you are, Monsieur Monokuma." Liam agreed as he rubbed the nape of his neck.
Mei just murmured something under her breath as she then said, "W-We should start now. I-I suggest we talk about what happened to Himitsu-san."
"Like how he was killed and the possible suspects?" Junko inquired, and Mei nodded. "Well, for one, there's a theory about him being poisoned."
"Why is that?" Liam asked.
"There was broken glass beneath his body, meaning a container." Junko replied.
"So it's a container for the poison?" Akane questioned. "How would you know? Did you see the label or something?"
Junko seemed a bit surprised. "I did not notice any label or anything of the kind."
"Well then, we can't say for sure that's poison." She retorted.
Liam smiled at Akane. "You seem to be thinking logically now, mademoiselle."
"Of course, or else we're going to die!" She quickly shouted, astonishing us a bit.
"If it isn't poison," Paylor began. "Then what is the red liquid inside Himitsu's mouth?" He questioned.
"Poison." Junko answered.
"Blood!" Akane shouted.
Mei just fidgeted. "W-Whatever it was, Himitsu-san may have intake it. I-If it was spat out, it would have spread all over, but swallowing would only be secluded to the mouth."
"A very good observation, Mademoiselle Mei." Paylor praised.
"Moving on." I began. "Himitsu's palms are cut up and wounded."
"The killer must've gone into a fight with the Hacker!" Akane exclaimed.
I shook my head. "It can't be. As stated, Himitsu intake instead of getting into a fight. Plus, we had not seen any signs of a struggle in the Dojo or in the corpse."
Akane sighed. "I guess you're right." She then questioned, "Then why would he have cuts on his hands?"
Paylor smirked. "Our best guess that he handled these." He showed the plastic bag with the contents of the broken watch.
"And that is?" Liam asked.
"Himitsu's broken watch." Paylor answered.
"How does that relate to now? And wasn't that supposed to be disposed off about several days ago?" Junko questioned.
"The wounds on Himitsu's hands don't seem recent, so it appears that he did this before, but forgot to throw it out and return the hammer to its toolbox."
"Hammer?" Mei repeated.
Paylor nodded. "Yes, apparently, he decided to destroy his watch for some particular reason, and he used the hammer for that." I became confused then. Why would Himitsu destroy a watch, especially if it seemed rather expensive and made to his own…use?
"Wait, why would Himitsu do that?" I asked. "Paylor, you have stated several times before that the watch is valuable. We also saw that Himitsu tinkered with it to help him in his hacking and such."
Paylor seemed a bit taken aback. "Don't you think I know that? That's why I'm curious on what was Himitsu's reason for doing so."
"Upupu, allow me to elaborate." Monokuma said. "You see, the Hacker almost got way too deep into some secrets, so I had the watch disposed off as soon as possible."
"You know, you could've done that at the very beginning." Liam invoiced. Almost all of us nodded in agreement.
"Hey, I make mistakes too, you know!" Monokuma argued loudly and angrily.
"Well, if you destroyed the watch yourself, why are Himitsu's palms cut up?"
"Um, because there's broken glass?" Monokuma retorted sarcastically.
"That can't be. Paylor stated that those cuts were not recent, and we only noticed the broken glass today." I stated, which put Monokuma in a state of shock.
"W-Well then…"
"There's no other choice but to conclude that Himitsu broke his own watch himself." I said, folding my arms across my chest. I looked around and saw that Paylor seemed a bit annoyed whilst Liam and Akane seemed confused, but still follow.
"We still don't know the reason Himitsu did so." Junko muttered.
Monokuma sighed. "That doesn't matter, as long as you guys know that he did it himself. Just move on already!"
I wondered why he was rushing us. Maybe he just wanted to kill us off. "So far, we theorized that Himitsu drank poison. Now we just have to deduce who could've done him in." I insisted.
Everyone nodded, but then Monokuma began to snicker. "Upupu, well, if I were to suspect someone, it would be Mr. Inventor here!"
"P-Paylor-sama?" Mei questioned. "W-Why? He wouldn't kill anyone." She defended.
Liam just scratched his head. "But Mademoiselle Mei…um…"
"I'm betting its Junko, he was terribly tired when he arrived at the cafeteria!" Akane accused.
Junko stayed quiet and muttered, "Could be Monokuma as well, since he pointed first."
Looking around, I just sighed discreetly and then said, "Eneres could also be a culprit."
Paylor pounded his fist into his palm. "Oh yes, there's still that mysterious female student."
Who do you think killed Himitsu? What will become of this Class Trial? Will Monokuma win, or will our dear students die?
Upupu, just wait and see.
Well, there's the second to the last chapter of the story (excluding the bonus chapter) Hope you all had fun seeing others die and get executed, the drama, and others.
