"We have guests arriving at four, so be prepared to meet them."

"Alice, I've one million things to do and you want me to greet guests?" Danny sighed as the pair walked out of the house after having lunch together. The morning's revelations had left Danny in a strange mood, and Alice was having none of it, as she tried to arrange the afternoon.

"Yes I do. You own this house." Alice reminded him gently.

"So do you!" Danny retorted, "Look, Caroline might-"

"Danny!" Alice gasped.

"Ok... but I'm not doing anything other than say hello." Danny agreed, grumpily.

"Did someone miss their coffee this morning?" Alice teased, "Or are you actually just stubborn, pig headed, annoying..."

"Oright Mrs Trevanion! You've made your point..." Danny laughed, "Now, I'll meet you up here in a little while, Evan has his appointment today?"

Alice nodded, as Danny leant in and kissed her gently, neither heard the car behind them or the driver exit. As Danny pulled away, both he and Alice turned, and neither could hide their paling faces as the observed the tall, slim man stood in front them.

"Danny, Alice. How's things been?" Dylan grinned, "How's Rosie?"

"Umm..." Danny began, but was quickly covered by Alice.

"Fine I think, you know she's kept herself to herself a wee bit and what with everything going on- how was your trip?"

"Good, I'm gonna go find her, she still in the house?" He asked.

"I think so." Danny agreed, watching his son in law bounce up the stairs. He turned to Alice, "Still want to stay up here?"

"You know, I think I might just help you in the surgery..." Alice said, taking his arm as both made their swift exit.

Evan glanced at his reflection as he stood in front of the full length mirror, he sighed, tugging on his shirt, before glancing down to his wrist and the scars that resided there. He rolled his shoulders before walking out of his room, ready to face his demons and move on.

"Evan!" Dylan grinned.

"Hi Dylan." Evan smiled, shaking the hand of his brother in law. "How was work?"

"Not great. I'm looking for Rosie, have you seen her?"

"No, I've-" Evan cut himself short, realising Dylan wouldn't know what had happened. "I've been getting ready, got an appointment in town."

"Ah ok. See you later then." Dylan smiled, continuing his pursuit of Rosie. He glanced in their bedroom once more, and was about to move onto the lounge when he heard a faint sound coming from the study.

As he neared the offending room, he affirmed that someone was almost certainly in there, and as he'd seen everyone else bar his wife, he assumed it was safe to enter. He considered knocking but shook the thought from his head, entering without preamble.

"Dylan!" Rosie gasped as she spun, wiping her eyes furiously. She'd taken refuge in the study knowing everyone was too busy to do anything would warrant the use of it. Now, her husband stood in front of her, and the shame of her previous hours activities hit her like a ton of bricks.

"Rosie!" He smiled, walking forward seemingly oblivious to her state of mind, he took her into his arms, kissing her with an unrestrained passion, as guilt crept through everyone of Rosie's pores. It was then he noticed the tears rolling down her cheeks, "It's ok Rosie, I'm here now." He smiled, wiping away her tears, misjudging them for tears of reunion.

"I know." Rosie whispered, "How as your flight?"

"Boring without you leaving me stranded on the air field." He whispered. "Now, come on, you can fill me in on all that's happened here."

Rosie swallowed, she'd have to be very selective about that one.

"So, have you calmed down?" Alice asked her Husband, as both sat for a moment in their office.

"Calm? Yes. Happy? No. Alice, I feel like I'm trapped." Danny sighed, "I can't escape it can I? She's put us in a ridiculous situation."

"I know honey." Alice sighed, leaning forward and taking his hand, "But, she's your daughter, as hard as it is, we have to stand by her - right or wrong."

"Hmm, you're right." Danny smiled sadly, squeezing her hand, before bringing it to his lips and kissing the back delicately just as Evan entered.

"Hey Evan, you look smart. Ready to go?" Alice asked, her hand still resting in Danny's.

"Yeh. Yeh, I think so." He replied, "Just a bit nervous but... I've gotta do this."

"We're here for you, and couldn't be prouder." Danny smiled, standing up and checking his watch. "Best get going, don't want you to be late."

"Aye, c'mon." Alice agreed, placing her hand on Evan's back and leading him outside and towards the Jeeps.

"So, come on, anything exciting happen whilst I was away?" Dylan asked excitedly. Rosie has been passive towards him despite his energy and he was trying everything to try and get an answer, or even a hint of enthusiasm out of her, that warranted any great expansion.

"No, not really. You should know Evan has been self harming - not that that is exciting, but you know, it's right you know." Rosie shrugged, staring at the computer screen.

"What? I had no idea..." Dylan trailed off, making way for yet another silence. "You been looking at houses?"

"Get real Dylan - that is the last thing on my mind!" Rosie snarled, "Look, I'm sorry. I'm tired, and busy, and I just have so much to do. Go and rest, you must be exhausted."

Dylan stood for a moment, a hurt expression upon his face, before he slowly nodded. "You need to take it easy." Dylan murmured kissing her cheek, "I'll speak to you later yeh?"

"Yeh, see you later Dylan." Rosie sighed, turning back to the screen ,leaving Dylan feeling nothing short of dismissed.
