A/n: You might wanna play the song "Long Live" by Taylor Swift while reading this chapter. This piece of advice has been endorsed by Marina. Enjoy!

~Narrator's POV~

"Why didn't you go back to Earth with Lucy?" Marina asked Caleb curiously.

Caleb smiled ruefully. "I'm dead in that world. I'd much rather spend my life in Aslan's Country, honestly."

"You're going as well?" Kalyn asked, almost a little incredulously.

Caleb nodded. "If Aslan gives His permission."

"My Country is a realm free from any constraints or sadness." Aslan beamed. "Caleb, ultimately the choice is yours. Choose wisely."

"Are my parents in Your Country, Aslan?" Kalyn inquired.

Aslan nodded in response.

"I'm going to tell them about all about our times in Narnia, and all the great friends that we've made." Caleb reassured Kalyn. "I'll tell them that their daughter is wed to a Narnian King, and I'll tell mom and dad they're about to be grandparents." He beamed. "You'd make a good Queen, I'm sure."

"Well…at least it's good to know they're reunited now. It must be awfully difficult for them to spend so many years away from their other half." Kalyn nodded understandingly. "And I'll tell the little ones of their Uncle Caleb." She smiled.

"Thank you for being my family, Kalyn. I don't think I could ask for a better sister. And now, I'm handing you over to Caspian." Caleb turned to the Narnian King. "Take care of her. Honor her. Protect her. Cherish her. Love her."

"As always." Caspian nodded sternly, before his expressions softened as he and his brother-in-law hugged. Caleb then hugged his sister, and felt ready for the start of something new.

Turning to Marina and hugging her, Caleb beamed. "Knowing you, I can tell that you're not staying either."

"You're leaving too?" Kalyn inquired, looking sad and feeling lonely, even though she knew she had Caspian.

"Yeah. I'm going to Earth. To England. With Edmund. And Lucy. And the others. I mean, if we discover a desire within us that nothing in this world can satisfy, we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world. So I'm going to travel worlds. I want my life – well, lives, to be fruitful and colorful and…" Marina fished out a letter, tidily enclosed in an envelope, from her bag, and handed it to Kalyn. "I bid you, give this to my cousin, King Nain, when you reach Archenland. This letter contains everything he needs to know." She explained. "You three are wonderful friends and the best company on a seafaring expedition. I'll miss you. Really I will."

"Take care." Kalyn tried to smile, as Caspian grasped her hand in rapport. "Both of you."

"This isn't goodbye." Marina smiled wholeheartedly. "We'll all meet again someday. And by then, we'll have loads of catching up to do."

"Loads." Caspian agreed, nodding.

Aslan spoke then. "You have served your purpose well, Caleb. Now you will enter My Country, and be freed from all you're meant to be."

As one tunnel vanished, another appeared. "Marina, you have made the right choice. Because of this, you will be rewarded with a life of happiness. Remember that I am always with you on your journey."

"See you all in a little while." Caleb concluded and stepped into the waterfall, and Marina followed suit after waving. They were off to different dimensions, but they were all united at heart.

When Caspian and Kalyn returned to Ramandu's Island, the crewmen had been informed of recent departures, and they were initially a little dismayed, but soon came to understand that they were all just trying to achieve something bigger in life.

The Dawn Treader was ready to sail again, so they all bade Ramandu and his daughter farewell. And as Aslan blessed the crew with favorable weather conditions, they sailed at full speed, past all the islets that brought badness, only stopping for supplies at two of the Seven Isles, the shore of Terebinthia, Coriakin's Island, and the Lone Islands where Master Rhince and his family stayed.

Having knowledge that Gael aspired to become a healer in the future, Caspian had Lord Bern appoint a scholar from Avra, a southern harbor, as Gael's tutor so that she could receive better education and live her dreams in the future. Helaine was very much delighted at this, and thanked Caspian and Kalyn profusely for giving her this opportunity.

Departing from the Lone Islands, the Dawn Treader headed towards Galma. Drinian, of course, was the most thrilled one of all.

Duke George and Duchess June stood proudly and eagerly at the pier, awaiting the Narnians' arrival. Marchioness Adriana had been counting the days – it had been exactly one year. She, of course, could not wait to see her fiancé, and Drinian was equally enthusiastic and exhilarated about their reunion.

It wasn't a Galmian custom to have long engagements, and Duchess June had wanted the wedding between her daughter and the trusted Captain to take place as soon as possible, and so the Narnians stayed in Galma for a couple of weeks to attend the wedding. The whole of Galma rejoiced.

Kalyn still had some doubts about the two getting married so soon when they hadn't had the opportunity to get to know each other very, very well. But they genuinely seemed happy in each other's company, and didn't mind the quick, whirlwind romance and courtship, so Kalyn wished them all the best.

Though Kalyn still wasn't particularly fond of male superiority in Galma – despite gender discrimination wasn't serious, she felt sure that she and Adriana would get along quite well. She got to spend a lot more time with her during the stay in Galma and realized that Adriana wasn't a replacement for Caleb or Marina or Lucy Edmund – nobody could ever take their places – she was just as good a friend.

So by the time the Narnians were set to leave, Adriana went on board as well, leaving Duchess June all teary-eyed, but definitely glad that her daughter had married for love.

Days later, the Dawn Treader had arrived at Archenland. When King Nain received his royal guests at the port, in his wife Queen Cara's arms was an infant, Prince Olvin. Kalyn took this chance to consult Cara and asked for advice on pregnancy and motherhood, which Cara was willing to offer.

The crew stayed at Archenland for a week in the castles of Bayside, and visited Anvard since they had the time to. Before Caspian spoke of the highlights of the voyage, he made sure to give Marina's letter to Nain.

Dearest Nain,

Where do I start? I guess by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to you for agreeing to let me go on the voyage with the Narnians on the Dawn Treader. Over the past 3 years, extraordinary things have happened in my life. Everything has changed since the day you made me the Archenlander Ambassador. I cannot help but feel proud of being an Archenlander, because it is who I am no matter what, and I have confidence that under your reign, our country will no doubt prosper.

When the Dawn Treader first stopped at Archenland, I faced a dichotomy where I had to choose between staying behind, or joining the Narnians. It wasn't an easy decision, but I know I've made the right one, and it made me tougher and more independent. And now before me is another difficult decision. By the time this letter reaches you, I'm probably living a new life in another world, a world where Narnia's High Kings and High Queens are from, and I am under their tutelage. This journey is a truly incredible one, and I believe Caspian and Kalyn will tell you all about it.

I hope that my report regarding architecture I have produced recording all my findings and observations from my stay in Narnia serves you well as it serves all young, ambitious scholars well, and that my legacy will live on to inspire many. I hope that I have left a mark on this world and have made the change that I want to see happen. There's so much the future holds for me, and I'm not going to just walk away from that. Nothing's going to stop me from chasing my dreams. Even if the skies get rough, I'm still looking up. We've all got a lot to learn, like how to use the tools and gifts we've got when there's a lot at stake. We have to learn how to bend without the world caving in. I have to learn who I'm not, and who I am. In the end, we're still family, and worlds can't keep us apart.

If there's anything I can give you advice on, should I ever be in a position to do so, it would be to live life with no regrets and be happy, because life is too short to spend a single second in sadness. Pass this on to dear Cara, and to your little son who will grow up to be an honorable Archenlander Prince, and to your people. I wish you all good health. I will miss you dearly. One day, cousin, we will meet again. That I can promise you.

Let me tell you now and again that I am honored to be a part of your family when I lost mine. Everything that I've been through has made me a stronger, wiser young woman with an adventurous spirit that compels me to take on the path I have chosen for myself. Everything that I've been through made me a true Lady of Archenland, someone I will always be.

Your beloved cousin,

Marina

That nearly brought Nain to tears, but he bade the Narnians a safe trip anyway. The two nations were going to be closer than ever – that was one of the impacts Marina had left on the world.

On board the Dawn Treader, Kalyn had felt that the upper deck was scarily empty without Caleb, Lucy, Edmund, Marina, Eustace, and Gael around when they used to make merry, so Kalyn was relieved that she wasn't the only female on board since she and Adriana could keep each other company. Kalyn had the time to tell Adriana of many Narnian, and even Telmarine, traditions so that she would find it easier to settle in a foreign land.

And soon enough, the crew found themselves back in Cair Paravel.

A/n: Worry not! This is not the last we see of Marina. She does have a (relatively minor) role in the third volume, and she's going to appear in the epilogue. Also in at least one of the spin offs I'm going to write, related to this trilogy, only it would never fit into the main storyline.

As for Caleb, well, I can't say anything about him yet. My plans for his future appearances are still in pieces and not put together yet. But he will appear in the spin offs, so smile. :)

However, I do need to inform y'all that "Some Kind of Loving" is coming to an end soon! No this isn't the last chapter but there won't be many till the last! Frankly I'm both happy and sad about it. Happy because I've come so far, and I'd be able to start writing the third volume, which concentrates on the next generation, i.e. Caslyn's children, and the events majorly take place in The Silver Chair. Sad because I've had so much fun writing the first two volumes and they're all so positive but then the third installment is going to be…darker. Sadder. More intense and sentimental really. More character deaths. Still, I hope you, my fellow readers, are enjoying my fics!
