Chapter 28: Betrayal

Jafar and Pan, having successfully acquired Hook's bottle and some jewels from the Jolly Roger, were now walking through the Enchanted Forest on their way back to Wonderland.

"How are we going to get back to Wonderland?" Pan asked.

"The White Rabbit of course." Jafar said.

"Where is he?" Pan asked. "I assumed dug himself away after he brought us here."

"That does sound like the kind of thing he'd try to do. So I kept him here." Jafar said.

"How did you keep him here?" Pan asked. "All he has to do is just create a portal and leave."

"I suspended his ability to do so." Jafar said.

"How?" Pan asked.

"Enough questions. You'll see when we get there." Jafar said.

After a few more minutes of walking through the forest, Jafar and Pan saw a statue of the White Rabbit sitting in a bush.

"You turned him to stone." Pan said.

"I'm surprised it took you this long to figure it out." Jafar said.

With a wave of Jafar's hand, the White Rabbit became consumed by a gray smoke. When the smoke cleared, the Rabbit had been turned back to his normal self.

"Hello again Rabbit." Pan said.

"I do apologize," Jafar said, "but I couldn't risk you running off and leaving us here."

"I suppose you want to go back to Wonderland now." The White Rabbit said.

"Correct." Jafar said. "Now dig."

The White Rabbit then dug up a swirling blue vortex in the ground that led to Wonderland. The Rabbit then jumped through followed by Jafar, holding the bottle, and Pan, holding the stolen jewels. When the portal opened in Wonderland, The White Rabbit, Jafar, and Pan landed back in Jafar's floating prison and were surprised to see that Zelena and the Jabberwocky had lowered the old man's cage and were about to release him. Jafar was also surprised to see that Zelena was holding his other two genie bottles.

"Step away from the cage and give me my bottles." Jafar demanded.

"Didn't your mother ever teach you how you address a lady?" Zelena asked.

"My mother died when I was young." Jafar said.

"At least your mother wanted you." Zelena said.

"I don't care much for your past Zelena." Jafar said. "I just want whats mine."

"I just want the life I should've had and this will help me have it." Zelena said. "You won't stand in my way."

"We're both clearly determined to get what we want." Jafar said. "Why don't you reconsider my off to work together. We both have all the pieces. Why not share them?"

"I can't trust you." Zelena said. "I don't think you should trust me either."

"All we have to do is cast the spell." Jafar said. "That's it."

"You said we would cast the spell together." Pan angrily said.

"That's right. I did." Jafar said.

The evil sorcerer then turned towards Pan, extended his arm, and closed his hand into a fist. By doing this, he magically stopped Peter Pan's heart. Pan fell to the ground and stared at Jafar in his last few moments.

"No. You promised." Pan said.

"I lied." Jafar said.

After muttering his last words, Peter Pan died on the ledge of Jafar's floating prison. Jafar the waved his hand and magically sent Pan's body flying off the edge and into the dark, black pit. Jafar then magically summoned a special blade. The Jabberwocky immediately recognized this blade as the only one that could contain her. Zelena watched as fear filled the Jabberwocky's eyes. It seemed impossible for a creature who feeds off fear itself to be afraid of a weapon that could never kill her. Jafar waved his arm and magically paralyzed the Jabberwocky. Then he sent the blade flying into her. The force knocked her off the ledge and into the closest wall, where she was pinned by the sword.

"Jafar!" The Jabberwocky screamed.

"I hope you're prepared to spend the rest of eternity on that wall." Jafar said. "Do you trust me now Zelena? It's just me and you. We have the ambition and the power."

Zelena became intrigued by Jafar's actions.

"I know how this spell works. After it's cast, we both gain the power to break the laws of magic." Zelena said.

"Correct." Jafar said. "After it's cast, we can both go our separate ways and tend to out own agendas. We can both be our parents' favorites."

"Did the Jabberwocky tell you all about me?" Zelena said.

"After this, you'll be your mother's favorite daughter and I'll be my father's favorite son." Jafar said. "What do you say?"

"Alright." Zelena said. "I don't really have nine months to wait anyway."

Jafar and Zelena magically teleported back to the Red Queen's throne room, which Jafar was surprised to see had been turned green.

"You've certainly changed the whole atmosphere of this room." Jafar said.

"I think green is beautiful." Zelena said.

"Let's get down to it." Jafar said.

Jafar put Hook's bottle down on the table and Zelena placed the other two down as well. Jafar then opened up his magic spell book to the page with the genie's curse. Zelena and Jafar then extended their hands over the book and began to cast the special spell. Soon, blue beams of magic started to frantically fly out of the book and filled Jafar and Zelena with ultimate power. Their eyes started to glow bright blue as they jointly became the most powerful practitioners of magic in all the realms.
