Kimportant Update: Until We Meet Again

Two years ago, in the midst of writing my first original novel, I had taken a week's paid vacation from work to focus solely on writing. On down times, I found the entire series of Kim Possible online and, having always wanted to watch it, binged it for almost the entire week. What I originally wrote off as your average, childish Disney show turned out to be one of the most fun cartoons I'd seen in some time.

But, more than that, I also began to see something in two of the characters. Kim and Shego were an intriguing rivalry, almost overflowing with chemistry onscreen. I loved it, especially because it was bizarrely close in nature to my own original novel's character's, Delaine and Hellena's, relationship. Then, when I saw the episode Stop Team Go, I did something I'd never done to that point: ship characters.

I knew what shipping was, but I'd never felt compelled to do it until KiGo. And I don't see it as anything to be ashamed or embarrassed by. You love what you love and you should never have to make excuses for it to please other people.

After pumping out three novels in a year's time (phew), I was allowed a break to take it easy and push the first book specifically. In that time, I'd felt the writing itch and needed it scratched pronto. Along came fanfiction and the rest was an easy decision. Writing has taken the place of many things as the brightest point in my daily life and I'm honored I can share it with people without having to shill merchandise in the process.

That being said, the day job has come a-calling. My agent has been hounding me for some time now about starting my next novel and I can't exactly say no. Luckily, she understood I needed to come to a conclusion on Necessary Changes before starting something new. Why did I need to? Because I owed it to all of you.

This most recent chapter reached over one hundred fifty IP's in less than a day's time. That means that all those people were ready and willing to read my story almost as soon as it was posted. It isn't even the numbers, but the fact that so many people hold it in such regard. I don't have the storage space necessary on my one terabyte hard drive to adequately write down how that makes me feel.

So, to all those who read: thank you and I hope you enjoyed it. To all those that reviewed: your words, whether positive or negative, kept me going.

To Lhyaran, whose been there since the beginning and still reviews to this day.

To Taliesin the Eternal Bard, whose brainstorming and ideas have helped significantly.

To only-looking, whose detailed feedback has worked wonders when I needed feedback the most.

To MisterMagic25, the nicest guy whose more than willing to help in any scenario.

To Hopeful Husky, whose positive words made me almost as happy as that image of a Husky he uses. XD

To Aceina, who isn't afraid to say what needs to be said, even if I didn't want to hear it.

All those people have stories of their own and I encourage you to check them out.

Your presence in my life these past several months has been a godsend. Even as terrible of a year as 2014 was, a simple word from any of you was enough to make my day brighter and I'll never thank you enough for that.

I hate to have to walk away, but rest assured that I will still be here, reading your fics and answering your messages. This place is a second home to me now. People may ask me if this story is over and I'll always give the same answer: as long as someone wishes to read it, this story will continue one day.

Good luck and take care everyone.

Until we meet again.
