A/N-I DO NOT OWN THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND!
Hey guys!
I'm SO SO sorry that I haven't updated, but my computer got a virus so I had to restore it to factory settings and that meant that I had to re-download everything including Microsoft Word so I couldn't get into my documents for a few days. Luckily though it saved all of my documents and files so that's the only good thing.
I know I keep giving you all excuses about why I haven't updated and again, I'm sorry.
Enjoy!
Nat's POV
"Excuse me," someone at the door interrupted my English teacher's lecture.
I looked up from my textbook that I was actually reading, to see one of the office secretary's at the door.
"Can I see Nat Wolff?"
My teacher looked at me and the minute we made eye contact, I got up and was about to walk towards the door when the secretary stopped me. "I suggest you take your books with you."
I grabbed my stuff, walked towards the door and followed the secretary down the hall. "What's going on?"
She glanced at me. "I think it'd be best if you waited until we get to Principal Schmoke's office."
"Am I in trouble?"
She didn't respond this time, so we walked in silence to the office and when we got inside, she gestured for me to go into Principal Schmoke's office.
I walked into the office to see Principal Schmoke sitting at his desk and of all people–Jesse sitting across from him. I stopped immediately in the doorway, looking back and forth between them. "What's going on?"
Principal Schmoke looked at me calmly. "Nat, why don't you sit down–"
"No," I interrupted him. "No, I'm not sitting down until someone tells me what's going on."
"Nat, do you remember me talking to you about seeing a therapist?" Jesse asked, looking at me.
I could suddenly feel my heart beginning to speed up. "Uh, Jesse, I don't really think now is the right time–"
"It's alright, Nat. Ms. Cook has already told me everything," Principal Schmoke said.
"What's everything?" I asked.
"She's told me that you have been having some problems at home."
My eyes widened, but I quickly hid the shock from my face. "I don't know what she told you sir, but it's not–"
"Please Nat, don't try to lie. This is a serious matter," He said.
"So…why am I here?"
"Alex told me about what happened," Jesse said.
"What are you talking about…?"
"With the picture frame and your hand," She said, looking down at my hand.
I hid my still bandaged hand behind my back. "He's lying. You have no proof of that."
Jesse looked almost offended.
"Maybe your brother is lying," Principal Schmoke spoke up. "But there's still the fact that you've had many different incidents this year with your history teacher."
"What are you getting at?" I asked, becoming annoyed now.
"You've got an anger problem, Nat," He said. "And we're worried about you."
"I talked to Dr. Brennan and he agrees with me. I don't think this can wait," Jesse said.
"No," I said, shaking my head. I already knew what she meant. "No, no, no, I'm not going to a therapist and you can't make me."
"Nat, we just want what's best for you," She said.
"Jesse you don't get it, I've found a way to…" I trailed off. How stupid do I sound? They're making a bigger deal out of this then it needs to be. They're acting like I killed someone. But still, I refuse to go. "Talk to Rosalina," I said without thinking. "She'll tell you everything. I don't need to go."
"Rosalina?" Principal Schmoke asked in confusion. "I thought you and Miss Tai did not like each other."
But at this point, I didn't care. "Just please, get her. She can help me explain."
Rosalina's POV
I was sitting in my Math class, and everything was fine until one of the office secretaries knocked at the door. At first, I didn't think anything was wrong; even though the secretaries rarely came to the classrooms. Whatever it was, I was sure it didn't involve me.
"Can I see Rosalina Tai, please?"
I looked up at my teacher, who nodded at me. I got up quickly and followed the secretary without a word to the office. Once we got there, she finally spoke up, "You're needed in Principal Schmoke's office."
Uh oh. I walked into the office to see Principal Schmoke sitting at his desk, Jesse sitting across from him and Nat standing as far as he possibly could from them. "What's going on?" I asked, glancing at Principal Schmoke and then at Nat.
"It seems there's been quite a bit of secrets between you and Mr. Wolff," Principal Schmoke said. "And I want explanations."
I glanced at Nat, than looked back at Principal Schmoke. "What exactly am I explaining?"
"Jesse says I should go to a therapist," Nat spoke up suddenly, slightly startling me. "Apparently Alex told her something."
"It's not just that," Jesse said. "Principal Schmoke told me about different things that have happened this year at school."
"But I'm confused, why are we doing this now, in the middle of the school day?" I asked.
"I don't think this can wait."
"Jesse, you don't understand! Now is really not…" Nat stopped himself, covering his face with his hands. I could tell he was getting frustrated.
"Look, I think this is being made into a bigger deal than it needs to be." I wanted to ask why Jesse had to bring the school into this, but I figure that would only make our problem bigger. "All of us know that Nat has a short temper. Nat knows it. I know it. We all understand that. But I don't think he needs to see any kind of therapist for it."
"So what do you suggest we do?" Principal Schmoke asked.
"Well I mean it's not like he doesn't get his feelings out, he…" I trailed off, looking at Nat. Would he want me to tell them that he writes music? Would he care?
"Yes, Miss Tai?"
"He talks to me and to his brother all the time. He doesn't keep things to himself. I mean, yeah sometimes he does lose his temper. But don't we all?"
Principal Schmoke looked at Jesse. "Miss Tai is a very reliable student."
"Oh trust me I know," Jesse said. "Rosalina's really awesome. Ever since she and Nat started dating Nat's been like, so much better."
"Oh yes, that brings up our next point," Principal Schmoke said. "What's this between you and Rosalina?" He asked, looking at Nat. "And I would like for you to explain, not Rosalina."
"Rosalina and I are dating."
"But the other day you said you didn't like each other."
"Actually sir," I spoke up. "We never said that. You said that."
Principal Schmoke sighed. "So does this mean I have to find a better suited punishment for you, Nat?" He asked, looking at Nat.
"Actually Principal Schmoke, I was serious about what I said earlier," Jesse spoke up. "Rosalina's really good for Nat. He's so much more like, responsible and stuff. I mean he's always been responsible but since him and Rosalina started going out, he's been home a lot more often and he takes care of his brother really well too. He acts so much more responsibly, and usually when he gets mad Rosalina is the only one who can calm him down."
Principal Schmoke looked at me, and then at Nat.
"I'm still willing to tutor him sir," I said. "I want to see Nat do well too. And I can't promise anything, but I can say that we're going to work on Nat's temper."
"Alright, Rosalina. I trust you. And I trust you too, Nat."
"Thank you sir," Nat said.
Nat and I quickly walked out of the office and back to class. Once we were in the hallway, I looked at him, and he was staring straight ahead. "What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking we need to lock Jesse in a closet when we go to school."
"She was only trying to do what's best–"
"I know, Rosie. I know she was just trying to help but it just gets a little annoying sometimes when everyone thinks they know what's best for me. They don't know what's best for me, I know what's best for me."
"I know."
"And another thing–wait, what?"
"I said, I know. I get it. I understand."
"But usually you just tell me they're just trying to help and all this stuff–"
"I know but I figure today you've gone through enough lecturing."
"Well thanks."
"Anytime."
"No I mean seriously, thank you. If it weren't for you I would still be in there. Nobody would've listened to me. They never do. Thank you."
"What do you mean 'nobody would've listened to you'? I would've listened to you."
"I know that's why I'm saying thank you."
"I'll always listen to you." I smiled and kissed him quickly. "Now get back to class, Wolff."
"Hey who put you in charge?"
"You wanna try saying that again?"
"…No."
"Exactly."
