Chapter 28

Yume is spinning around in computer chair with a dreamy look in her eyes. Hisoka was looking through the new pictures that Yume had just taken. It just so happened to be engagement pictures she did voluntarily for a couple their family knew. The couple was giving Yume a chance to show off her skills by allowing her to use these photos to show she can do more than just recreational photography. This may give Yume a chance to make some money on the side while going to school and maybe make a career out of something she loved doing. She was making Hisoka look them over once more before she delivered them to the couple.

"Have you ever dreamed of getting married Hisoka?" Yume sighed dreamily. There were bridal magazines scattered on the desk. Yume was using them for inspiration for the photos that she just took. She still had them out from when she was in the planning stages for the photos. Hisoka scoffed at her question still flipping through the pictures slowly as to scan every detail in the picture. Hisoka never thought of marriage and never saw her finding anyone who would love her romantically. Yume pouted at her twin sister's response.

Yume drew her identical blue eyes on her sister, passion blazing, "Come on! You can't say you haven't at least thought about it once!" Hisoka glanced up at her sister and hummed while marking down some suggestions for one of the pictures. "Marriage is beautiful! You get to become one with the person you love and spend the rest of your life with them! Annndd you get to throw a gorgeous ceremony and reception to celebrate!" Yume had now jumped out of her chair and thrust her arms into the air. She was going on a rant on how wonderful marriages are and fantasizing what marriage would be like for either of them while trying to get Hisoka to fess up.

During her younger sister's tirade, Hisoka was gazing down at a photo of one of the more traditional poses a couple does for romantic pictures. They were sitting in the grass with wildflowers leaning softly as a breeze rustled past them. The couple was gazing so tenderly into each other's eyes as if no matter what happens in their future, they have each and that is all that mattered. The gaze is really what said it all, not their embrace they had each other in. There was so much love captured in the picture that Hisoka was awash with pure longing. This is what she imagined a couple should be.

Hisoka quickly flipped to the next picture trying to push down that feeling. The older girl put down the stack of pictures and that caught her twin's attention forcing her into silence. "I truly never see myself getting married… I just don't see myself ever finding love as pure as this." Hisoka indicated the picture she was just admiring. "I just don't think I can allow anyone in." Hisoka finished quietly. Yume just gave her a very dissatisfied look. "I don't believe that one bit! I think one day you'll find the ONE and all you want to do is be with them forever!" Yume finished strongly jumping up on the bed with Hisoka on her hands and knees. She gave a very penetrating look to Hisoka willing her sister with all of her might to give her the answer she was digging for.

Hisoka didn't want to meet her gaze. Yume pounced on her sister squeezing her tightly, "Come on just admit it!" Hisoka frowned ever so slightly, her sister taking notice, "I guess if I find the ONE," Hisoka emphasized one in a sarcastic manner, "I will possibly get married, but absolutely no promises." That was enough for Yume to forget about the frown and sarcasm. Her younger twin squealed in excitement, "I can be your Maid of Honor and I can help you plan and- OH!" Yume was yammering a million miles a minute about a wedding that may never happen, but the excitement in her voice was so vibrant that Hisoka could only smile at her little sister's fantasies.

Yume then procured up some bridal magazines and Hisoka looked on in confusion and exasperation. "You know we are not seriously planning this for real right?"

Yume chirped, "You bet we are planning your entire wedding right now!"

"Please stop…" Hisoka groaned.

"Not in a million years Hisoka!" Yume grinned so wide Hisoka thought her face would split in half.

Hisoka stared hard at her reflection in the mirror. She was unhappy with what stared back at her, but she was always unhappy with her appearance now. She may have looked exactly like Yume, but people seemed to think the younger twin was much more beautiful than she was. She had dark circles under her eyes from the stress of her anticipating the date the twins proposed to her. She knew she wasn't going to be able to get out of it and all she felt at this moment in time was that she wanted to curl up under a rock and hide. She wasn't sure how she was going to make herself feel better before she was picked up for the date.

She tugged at her short strands very dissatisfied at how uneven and short her hair actually was. Admittedly it had grown out some since she had it cut, but she never really cared before. The teen then realized that she was actually fretting over how she looked for this date. She frowned, not liking the fact that she cared when she has never cared before about these trivial things. She pulled open a drawer with a sigh and found all of her sister's old makeup. This made her mood even worse. She remembered her sister spending way too much money on all these products and then trying to force Hisoka to wear makeup. She really didn't want more attention drawn to her as it was. It was fun when Yume got her to give in and let her sister paint her face in all different styles though. Hisoka figured it was okay at the time.

Hisoka realized she didn't even know how to apply makeup properly. "Damn!" She cursed under her breath and angrily splashed cold water on her face to calm herself down. She looked at the water splattered mirror, staring once again at her now dripping face. "I'm bailing out of this," Hisoka grumbled under her breath and grabbed her phone off the counter. She pulled up the group message between both her and the twins and started typing out a lengthy message on how she can't go.

There was banging on the bathroom door and it scared Hisoka into dropping her phone to the floor. "What the hell!" The door flew open and the twin maids that work for the twins appeared with a gleam in their eyes. Behind them there were racks upon racks of clothes, shoes, jewelry, hair products, makeup, and other stuff she didn't even know existed. They were color coded and organized in ways she didn't quite understand. Hisoka looked down at herself and saw she was just in panties and a bra. She flushed tomato red in embarrassment, "Can you please go away? I think I'd like to pass on the date now and maybe go to sleep early." Her voice was really weak by the end of her small talk as the look on the twins faces were of pure evil.

Hisoka backed up trying really hard to cover up, "I'm guessing that's a no then." The maids slowly moved forward with their choice of product in hand before they pounced on the poor girl. There was a lot of fighting and screaming and confusion that ensued after that. The maids were not going to let Hisoka win this battle as they always win when they want to.

"There!" The first maid said and the other followed, "You finally look like a lady." Under their breath they added together, "Instead of like a homeless little boy." Hisoka had nothing to say in response because she was staring at her reflection in the mirror. She wasn't even sure that she was looking at herself in the mirror either; it just could not be her. They put extensions in her hair and curled it so that the curls cascaded down her back in soft ringlets. The makeup accented her feminine physique and the smoky eye shadow made her blue eyes pop. The lipstick was a light color that made her lips a light pink and pouty. The maids had put in diamond studs in her ears, a silver bracelet, and let her (after she begged) keep her usual necklace.

The outfit was something she never saw herself wearing. It was a lacy cream crop top with ¾ sleeves, a high waist red skirt that came just above the knees, and plain black heels. It was an incredible transformation. This feat was something she would not have accomplished this by herself in a million years. "Well do you like it or not?" The maids both quipped, packing away their millions of things. Hisoka just continued to stare at the mirror dumbfounded and completely speechless.

"Well," One started, the other one shoved a small black clutch into her hands having put her phone and some lip gloss in it, "Spit it out."

Hisoka looked at them with wide eyes, "I look beautiful." If the girls weren't listening for it, they probably wouldn't have heard it. The maids looked at each other then turned back to the dressed up teen and grabbed her on either side and started walking her out of the bathroom and to the stairs. On the other side of the stairwell Hisoka's mother glared at her so hard that Hisoka shrunk back into the twin girls. Hisoka then straightened herself as she neared the stairs and met her mother's glare. Keiko hated seeing her daughter look so confident and beautiful, it reminded her too much of Yume. Hisoka is the reason Yume is gone. Hisoka is just a copy of Yume, but she will never compare. Keiko Kaneko could never show love for both daughters and it showed.

Shin was at the bottom of the stair well talking with the Hitachiin brothers. Hikaru was in a blue button up shirt while Kaoru was in an orange one, but otherwise they were dressed exactly the same as usual. They both looked handsome and all three of the men down at the bottom of the staircase looked up at the same time because Hisoka was carefully clacking down the steps. They all looked upon her with adoration and love in their eyes. The twins were also slightly bouncing with excitement and anticipation for the evening they had planned.

When Hisoka finally made it down to the stairs Shin hugged his daughter and kissed her forehead. He looked straight at the twins, "Take care of her this evening." It was in a very hard, fatherly tone. Hisoka was his little girl after all. The twins smiled their most sincere smiles, "Of course, sir. We'll have her home safe!" They cheered in unison while taking hold of Hisoka's hands. Hisoka took one last look at her father. The nervousness was so painful that Hisoka didn't even seem to notice that her mother had disappeared. At this point it was the least of her worries. The twins tugged her hands and led her out the front door and to the limo that was waiting for the outside.

They got seated in the limo and it pulled away from the curb, she couldn't help but notice the twins sharing excited glances between each other. After a few moments of wringing her hands together in her skirt she blurted out, "WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME?!" She then looked down at her hands that were in her lap nervously. She was way too anxious. The twins smiled their Cheshire smiles, "We're taking you to a strip club so you can show us that beautiful-" Kaoru wrapped his arms around Hisoka before she jumped Hikaru for his very crude remark. "We are taking you to a very fancy restaurant to treat our favorite girl," Kaoru purred out girl instead of the usual remarks of toy, "out to a perfect date." Hikaru finished and wrapped his arms around both his brother and the poor girl that was sandwiched between the twins. She was flushing furiously.

"I just hope we get there soon." Hisoka jittered.

"We hope this ride lasts forever!" The twins chided together and Hisoka flushed even more.

"Guys we really shouldn't be here spying on their date." Haruhi's monotone voice rang out at normal volume. Tamaki shushed her quite loudly through his fake mustache. Tamaki had convinced the rest of the Host Club, dragging poor Haruhi along with the promise of fancy tuna, that spying on the twins date with the Hisoka would be a "FANTASTIC IDEA!" He had also declared that is was their duty to make sure the "devilish twins" didn't harm Haruhi's and their friend.

Kyoya's glasses flashed as he pushed them up the bridge of his nose. He was also wearing a fake mustache and a top hat that Tamaki made him wear. The group was seated a couple tables away from the date they were spying on. "Mori! I want some strawberry cake! No! Maybe some cheese cake with a strawberry! Or maybe some chocolate fudge cake!" Mori looked down at the little third year who had immediately asked for a dessert menu rather than the regular menu. Mori also sported a mustache and a fake pipe while Honey had a mustache and a monocle. Kyoya looked straight at Haruhi, "If you order, it will be added to your debt to the club." Haruhi stared at him with a despondent look.

"You guys made me come and promised me fancy tuna. That's not fair." Haruhi muttered. Tamaki had forced her into a poofy dress, but couldn't get her to put on a wig. "DON"T WORRY DADDY WILL FEED YOU MY DARLING!" Tamaki embraced the imprisoned girl. Haruhi was not impressed.

The twins and Hisoka had ordered their meal by now. They looked like they were having a genuinely good time. Hisoka was actually laughing and smiling throughout. Hikaru and Kaoru kept exchanging their secret glances and Hisoka took notice. She was having a great time, but she was starting to have a certain anxiety about the secret glances. She didn't want any surprises right now she just wanted this date to go smoothly and to have fun. "This is really good!" She giggled, "I'm not sure I can eat this all the time though!"

The twins smiled and waved down the waiter to put in an order of dessert to share. "Well we would," Hikaru started, "get you used to meals like this!" Kaoru finished with a huge grin. Hisoka smiled softly. The party of three didn't even notice that they were being watched by the host club they were having such a great time together. The dessert was delivered to their table and it was a large piece of cheese cake with a strawberry on top. It was rather simple considering that the rest of the meal was overly extravagant. Kaoru scooped up a bite and went to feed it to Hisoka. She flushed red again and opened her mouth slowly.

"Can I help you with anything?" A disguised Tamaki suddenly appeared at their side causing Hisoka and the twins to turn and look at him, Hisoka's mouth was still wide open. With their attention turned away Honey sneakily came by their table and stole their cake.

"Boss what are you doing here?" The twins said together. Kaoru's hand was still raised with the bite of cake positioned to feed Hisoka. Hisoka just flushed even worse not used to this type of attention at all. Her mouth was locked wide open.

"Tamaki leave them alone." Kyoya was suddenly there as well and Mori was putting a half-eaten cake back on the table. Haruhi was munching happily away on the fancy tuna that was promised to her back at the table. "Why are you guys here? Aren't dates supposed to be private?" Hisoka suddenly calmed herself down enough, and unlocked her jaw, to ask in her usual way. "We were just making sure these devilish twins did not harm you!" Tamaki said weakly as the glares from the two twins became dark and murderous. Kyoya pushed Tamaki away, "Please enjoy the rest of your evening. Sorry we bothered you."

The twins looked down at the plate while Hisoka looked after the host club with a satisfied smile on her face. She felt at home with all of them, it was a very nice feeling.

"ALL OUR CAKE IS GONE!" The twins screamed in shock. Honey struck again.

"I think we've had enough food for the evening anyways," Hisoka smiled at them sweetly. The twins smiled at her then shared their secret look before calling for the bill.

The next stop they took was a place that Hisoka suggested. It was a small park, one that many parents take their children to just to take pictures for the new school year. The cherry blossoms were blooming and the breeze was causing the petals to float lazily through the park. Hisoka walked along the path admiring the beauty of the trees in the light of the moon and stars. She reached up and touched the lower branches just so she could feel the softness of the petals.

The twins admired her from afar. She was just beautiful in the soft light of the moon. They didn't get a chance to pop the question because their friends showed up at the wrong time. This was the perfect moment that they were looking for. Kaoru and Hikaru looked at each other one last time and nodded before chasing after the girl of their dreams.

"Hisoka!" She turned around and her eyes widened as they both grabbed her hands and got down on one knee.

"We didn't realize how much you would change us." Kaoru started softly.

"We didn't know how attached we would be to you." Hikaru added a little louder.

"We didn't even think you would make it into our world." Kaoru added.

"We love you so much." Hikaru said with confidence.

Hisoka was speechless staring down at them as they shared that look once more, "Will you marry us?" They held the box together and presented her a beautiful ring.

Hisoka knew it was going to be an extravagant surprise, but she didn't realize this was what the surprise was going to be. The poor girl slowly retracted her hands from their hands and the twins both frowned. Hisoka loved them so much. It hurt her to have to do this. She was scared because of everything that has happened and what is still going on. She wants to feel safe from everything before she is ready for this big step. She just wasn't ready. To top it all off she only pictured herself marrying one person and she wasn't ready to destroy what she had here. She loved her friends in the host club and she loved them, Hisoka just couldn't do it.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Hisoka's voice quivered before she took off into the park, tears streaming down her face like rivers. Hikaru and Kaoru stared after her in complete shock, not being able to register their feeling or what had just took place.

"HISOKA!" They both ran after her.
