AN: Hi there, you beautiful people. A beautiful reviewer gave me an idea for this chapter. Thank you, lindsayhonaker. I FREAKING LOVE YOU. And the rest of you amazing people that support this story. And, don't worry, Jace isn't going to be a bad guy for the rest of this story. That would be cruel. :) He's only gonna be a bad guy... for a few more chapters. ;) Please follow, favorite, and review, you amazing peoplesss. ENJOY. :D
-Jace P.O.V-
I throw my phone on the bed and rub my hands over my face, tired. I hope Clary believed me. I don't need her knowing that I've been messed up from age 14.
My phone rings and I sigh, checking the caller I.D. Isabelle.
"What do you want, Izzy?" I groan.
"You son of a bitch. I can't believe that you lied to her, Jonathan. I can't believe you. What the hell, man?"
"I don't need Clary knowing how fucked up I was back then, okay? What did you tell her?"
"She knows, Jace, and she is beyond pissed off. Jordyn and Charlotte are basically tearing themselves apart trying to stay happy, and we're all under pressure because you decided that being a dick was a good thing."
When she mentions my children, my heart beats faster. Poor babies. I didn't even think of them.
"How about the baby?"
Isabelle sighs.
"She's been so close to losing him," she says. "It's the stress. It's seriously getting to her. This is all your fault, Jace. I hope you know that."
"I know." The line goes dead and I drop my phone. I hang my head between my knees to think.
My little man is being affected by my stupidity. My little girls are being affected by my stupidity. I squeeze my eyes shut and take deep breaths. On a whim, I decide to call someone.
"Hey, Kaelie? I need your help."
-Isabelle P.O.V-
I drop my phone on the table after talking to my brother. Clary went to the bathroom so I decided to give the little bitch a call. I still can't believe that he'd do that. We all though that he'd gotten past the lying. Come on, Isabelle, think. Think, think, think... wait. I have an idea.
Clary walks through the bathroom door towards me. I can see the large bags under her eyes, I can see her trying to hold it all together.
"Hey, Clare," I start cheerfully. "I have an idea."
She groans.
"What is it, Izzy?"
I grin widely.
"How about some speed dating?"
Clary's all dressed up. I put a floor-length silver dress on her. It outlines what needs to be outlined and doesn't outline the... other stuff. The dress purposely hugs her curves and is looser around the stomach. The neckline plunges down to just above her baby bump, and the back is basically non-existent. Thank God for Magnus. I decided that minimal makeup would be good so I only gave her a tiny bit of eyeliner and mascara, along with some nude lipstick. We went to the salon yesterday and we had her hair dyed a deep, deep shade of red with dark brown highlights. I straightened it and it falls down to her waist.
I clap happily, proud of my work.
"You look gorgeous, Clare-bear," I beam.
"Whatever," she grumbles, though I can see that she's grateful for my magic.
We ditched the idea of speed dating, too many weirdos, and decided that setting her up with one of my old "guy friends" was a better idea.
"So, who am I meeting again?" Clary asks as she gets into the car.
"My old friend. His name is Meliorn. Believe me, that man is one fine piece of ass."
Clary rolls her eyes and grins at me. Emma, Charlie, and Jordyn are all at Jon's house with Seelie and Simon. We left them there for the night. You never know what goes down at these things.
"So what restaurant?" Clary plays with her new manicure.
"Idris."
Clary's eyes almost pop out of her skull.
"Are you serious? Isn't that place super hard to get reservations at?"
I wink at her.
"I have my sources."
Clary throws her arms around me, pretty awkwardly considering that I'm driving.
"I freaking love you."
I chuckle appreciatively.
"Love you too, girlie."
We pull up to the restaurant and walk through the ornate doors.
"Where is he?" Clary's strappy silver heels don't seem to help much with her height as she's standing on her toes to see over other people's heads.
"Right..." my eyes scan around the room until they fall on a well-built man with silky silver hair. "There." I point over to him.
Clary's eyes widen fractionally and she pulls her bottom lip in between her teeth.
"Hot, isn't he?" I whisper. She nods, entranced.
"Go ahead," I push her gently. She scowls at me from over her shoulder and sashays towards Meliorn.
Score: Isabelle: 1. Jace:0
-Clary P.O.V-
I sashay towards the beautiful man with silver hair.
"Why, hello there," he grins, taking my hand in his and gently pressing his lips to my knuckles. His rich baritone voice reaches my ears and I can feel my heart accelerate.
"Hi," I whisper huskily. "You must be Meliorn."
"And you must be Clary."
I nod and take a seat next to him.
Suck on that, Jace.
AN: Bye peoples. :)
Love you people to the moon and back,
-Sosebo
