we own nothing

"Alexander Gideon Lightwood-Bane!" Magnus exclaimed in outrage "I am not staying in here while you go to that crazy place and fight!"

"I'm a Shadowhunter" Alec said, rolling his eyes at the use of his complete name "That's what I do"

"And I'm a warlock! A High warlock at that!" Magnus cried "I'm not supposed to stay at home and wait while doing nothing!"

"Magnus-" Alec started but was cut off by his husband

"I am not letting you fight alone!" Magnus said firmly

"Jace, Izzy, mom, Jocelyn, and Luke's pack are coming too" Alec said "I won't be fighting alone!"

"I don't care who else is coming!" Magnus protested "I am not staying here while you go and play hero!"

"You have to stay with Jinx" Alec said

"She can stay with Clary" Magnus insisted "You need me in this fight!"

"He does have a point, Alec" Isabelle said.

Everyone at the institute had instantly geared up after Max's departure. The Shadowhunters had instantly decided to go to the abandoned asylum and finish with the case once and for all. Maryse had told Jocelyn and Luke, who would be joining them in fight. They would bring Garren to the institute so he could stay with Clary and Jinx, while everyone else went off to fight.

Alec, however, was reluctant to let Magnus join them in fight. Not that he thought the warlock couldn't do it. More than once had Alec seen Magnus fight, and he was so fearless and brave…but this was different somehow. This was more dangerous. They were dealing with Magnus's father here, and many other demons. Alec was not about to put Magnus's life at risk, not if he could help it.

"You are not helping Isabelle" Alec snapped at his sister

"We do need him, though!" Izzy cried "Who else will close the portal to get the demons out?"

"We'll just have to kill them all and send them back ourselves" Alec said stubbornly

"You're being an idiot" Magnus frowned "I'm coming and you can't stop me"

"Magnus-"

"No!" Magnus snapped "You heard me. You have no say in this"

Magnus then snapped his fingers and he was instantly geared up and ready to fight. Alec wanted to keep fighting and protesting about Magnus going with them, but he knew it would be no use. Magnus had his head set on helping them. And once Magnus got the idea of doing something, there was no talking him out of it.

With a big sigh Alec moved towards the training room to retreat all of the weapons he would be taking. He took his bow and arrows and then followed to putting daggers and seraph blades around his belt, and hidden on his boots and arms. Alec then gave Magnus a dagger for himself.

"Just in case you need it" Alec said with a shrug.

Magnus nodded and put the dagger away on his belt. Suddenly, the training room's door burst open and Maryse, Isabelle, and Jace walked inside completely geared up. They started to collect their own weapons when Clary walked inside as well, followed by Jinx who quickly ran towards her dads.

"Please don't go" Jinx said trying to wrap her arms around both of them "Max says it is dangerous…you can't go"

"I'm sorry sweet-cheeks, but we have to go" Magnus said softly "Your Papa and I will save the world from the horrible monsters"

"Max said you were going to the scary house" Jinx said, tears forming in her eyes "The shadows will be there…please don't leave me"

"Oh Jinx" Alec sighed.

Magnus and Alec both kneeled in front of their daughter and brought her into a warm embrace. Jinx wrapped her small arms around both of their necks as tears started to trail down her cheeks.

"We'll be back before you know it" Alec promised her "You'll be safe here"

"Will you be safe too?" Jinx asked softly

"Of course" Alec said with a nod

"How?" Jinx asked "If you are saving everyone…who will save you?"

"We'll protect each other" Magnus assured her "And we'll be back and everything will be better"

"I love you Daddy. I love you Papa"

The small family hugged once more before standing up once again. Jocelyn and Luke then rushed inside the room. Jocelyn had her arms around Garren, but she let him go once they were reunited with everyone else who would be fighting.

"We should start going" Jace said "The sooner we get there, the sooner we'll finish with it"

"The pack's ready to go" Luke announced "They're just waiting for my signal"

"That's great" Maryse nodded "I sent out a message to the Clave…they might send some re-enforcements, but other than that, we're on our own"

"We can do this" Isabelle said, adrenaline already running in her vanes.

"Now Clary" Maryse said turning towards the red-haired girl "You will be left alone at the Institute with Garren and Jinx. You are to protect them in case anything were to come"

"The Institute is protected against demons" Jace said "But we don't know about the Shadowhunter's ghosts, so you should beware those"

"I know" Clary nodded "We'll be fine, don't worry"

"I always worry" Jace told him, kissing her forehead tenderly.

With final words of goodbye towards the kids and Clary, the group of Shadowhunters plus Magnus and Luke left the institute, ready to fight. Magnus opened a portal towards the outside of the asylum. It would be much easier using a portal than getting there by car or walking. After what Max had told them and what future-Jinx had told Magnus, they needed to close the portal that let all demons and ghosts come out into their reality before it was too late. They also needed to stop Magnus's father from whatever plans he had. It seemed like an easy task…but it wasn't that easy. The asylum was huge and dark. They didn't know where exactly the portal was located, or where all the demons were lurking, or where Magnus's father was…

So with one last look, all of them stood straighter, getting a weapon of choice at ready to fight, and charged inside the asylum.

CLIFF HANGER! :D
