Doki Doki Literature Club: Trying My Best

(Alright! I have decided on what to do! ;) Hope you all enjoy!)

Chapter 27

Monday

Jack

Turning the TV on, I started scrolling through channels to find whatever caught my eye. Stopping when I heard a loud bang come from upstairs, I put the remote down and got up to check it out.

Walking up the stairs, I started checking the rooms one by one. Getting to the last room, Natsuki's, I stopped when I heard another bang coming from the attic. Looking up, I grabbed the string hanging from the stairs and pulled it, having the stairs from the attic slide down.

Heading into the attic, I coughed as I breathed in a bunch of dust. Taking a second to stop coughing, I went the rest of the way up, seeing a bunch of knocked over boxes.

Picking them up one by one, I placed them back where they were resting. As I picked up the last box, a book slid out from it. Picking it up, I blew off the thick layer of dust. "Do Not Open This Book." I read the title. "Huh...sounds like some sort of whack evil book from a discount horror movie." I decided against the title and opened it anyway. The pages were yellow from age and I could barely read the words they were so worn down.

Turning the page, I saw a dim picture of what looked like a ghoul. "Interesting." turning to the next page was a picture of what appeared to be a dragon. Turning to the next was a picture of a goblin. Then the page after that was a picture of some sort of wolf/hell hound hybrid. The next page had a werewolf looking thing with the word Grimm above it. "When did we get this book? It looks pretty cool. At least the artwork is."

Flipping to the final page, I saw five words written in dark red ink across both pages. "Navem... Onerariam... Ad... Novam... Terram..?" a sudden bright light flashed the room, blinding me.

Sayori

Hearing the final bell ring, I walked out of class, stretching. "I can't believe we all had the same class together." I said as Yuri, Monika and Natsuki stepped out of the room with me. "What luck!"

"Yeah!" Monika agreed. "So, should we head to the clubroom now?"

"Actually, I think we should stop by Jack's home." Natsuki suggested. "I doubt he'll remember to come to the club. I'll bet he's asleep."

"Maybe we should stop by his house." I said, pressing my index fingers together.

"Well..." Monika said. "Since one of our club members might have a difficult time coming to the club, we could simply...relocate the club."

"To Jack's house?" Natsuki asked.

"Yep!"

"Yay! Let's go!" I started off down the halls.

Minutes later

"Jack!" I shouted as the four of us entered his home. "You awake?!" silence. Walking through his home, we went up stairs. Seeing the attic stairs were down, we all glanced at each other.

"Hey, Jack, are you up there?" Yuri asked. No response.

"Well, come on." Monika said as she started going up the steps.

"I'm not going up there!" Natsuki said.

Grabbing her wrist, I pulled her up the stairs. "Come on!"

Scanning the dark attic, there was no sign of Jack. "Where is he?" Monika said, placing a hand on her hip.

"Guys?" Yuri said. "Look what I found." she walked over to us holding an open book. "Check out the artwork." she started flipping through the pages.

Once she got to the last page, there wasn't an image but five words in a weird language. "Navem Onerariam Ad Novam Terram." we read out loud.

A bright white light blinded us for a few seconds. Once the light finally cleared, it felt as though I was falling. Suddenly, I felt the wind get knocked out of my lungs as I hit the ground.

Sitting up with a groan, I saw the others, Monika, Yuri and Natsuki sprawled out around me. We were in the middle of a grass field with what looked like a town in the distance. "What happened?" Natsuki asked as she sat up.

"No idea." Monika said as she pushed herself onto her knees.

Getting to our feet, we took in our surroundings. "What should we do?" I asked.

"Probably head to that town." Monika suggested, pointing to it. "Let's get going."

A few minutes later

Reaching the town, I took a look at the sign. "Welcome to Velgo?" I read. "What kind of place is called Velgo?"

"Not one I've heard of." Yuri said.

"This place kind of seems...outdated." Monika pointed out.

"And deserted." Natsuki added.

"Come on, in here." Monika entered a building. Following her in, it seemed like a bar with only the bar tender inside. Approaching him, Monika leaned against the bar. "Excuse me, but where are we?"

He looked at us as if we were stupid. "The village of Velgo." he replied.

"No shit." Yuri crossed her arms. "We're asking where are we?"

He raised an eyebrow. "In the North?" he shrugged. "In Pandora."

"What the hell is Pandora?" Natsuki asked.

The bartender was silent for a few seconds. "It's the world we live in."

End of chapter 27

(I have decided on an isekai of my own creative imagination. I have borrowed a few names and creatures for this world from other anime/games. I think I can make this a rather interesting story. Especially with how I set it up. This is the end of this story, but I am already working on a sequel. UwU)
