And I'm back, yay! Hey guys I am back with another update. Thank you guys so much for reading and I hope you like it.
Soda's POV
I slowly pulled myself back to consciousness and blinked open my eyes. I looked around only to find that I was still in the hospital room. I tried to sit up, but couldn't. What the heck. I tried lifting my arms, but it didn't work. Looking down I saw that my arms and legs were strapped down to the bed.
I let my head drop back on the flat pillow and grumbled to myself. Great, how the heck was I supposed to get out of here if I'm tied down? I guess the whole point of the straps is to keep me from escaping, but this was so not cool.
The door opened and I jerked my head to see who was coming in. Ms. Spencer. I glared as she looked at me and I was almost positive I saw her suppress a smile. This lady was evil.
"Glad to see you're awake Sodapop," she said.
"Where's Ponyboy?" I demanded.
"That's just what I was coming to ask you," she told me.
I squinted. "Huh?"
"Ponyboy ran off during that littleā¦ruckus earlier and I want to know where he might go. There's a storm coming on and we don't want him to get caught in it now do we?"
She was talking to me as if I were a baby, and I doubted very much she cared if Pony was stuck in a storm. I just shrugged.
"I don't where he would go. He could be anywhere," I answered.
It was the honest truth; I had no idea where Pony might be. If I did I would tell Ms. Spencer. I didn't want me and Pone to be split up, but it was be worse if he got lost or got sick from the rain or something. I didn't want my little brother out there alone.
"Are the straps really necessary?" I questioned.
"There just a precaution dear, we wouldn't want you to run off too now would we?" she said.
"Yes we would," I mumbled.
"What was that dear?"
"Nothing."
"Sodapop, I know this is hard for you, but trust me, it's for the best."
"So I've heard."
I despised this woman! She's the one who took us away from Darry in the first place. And she's the one who split me and Pony apart, and the one who got Darry thrown in jail. She's the reason that Ponyboy is out there in an oncoming storm. This. Was. All. Her. Fault!
I was going to find a way out of here and no one was going to stop me. Ms. Spencer left the room without another word. As soon as she was out the door I started working on getting the straps off my hands. It was no use, they were just too tight. That's when I got an idea.
"Nurse! Nurse!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
A few seconds later an attractive young nurses walked in. She came over to me and put a gentle hand on my shoulders.
"What's the matter honey?" she asked.
"I have to pee," I said simply.
She seemed startled by this.
"Oh," was her reply.
She looked down at my restrains and bit her lip, as if she didn't know whether to undue them or not.
"I will not hesitate to wet the bed," I said.
That was all she needed to hear. She reached down and undid the straps on my ankles before getting my wrists. I was free! I jumped from the bed, knocked the nurse out of the way and bolted out the door. As I ran down the halls there were startled shouts and I couldn't help but grin.
They were probably wondering why a half dressed kid was running around a hospital. It was then that I really wished I had my pants instead of just the hospital gown and my boxers. Oh well.
I made it out the door and into the cold night air. Off to find my baby brother.
