Starscream threw creatures at another while giving his signature smirk looking over the many heavily damaged and injured bio-mechanical creatures that were at the base of the area, many of the creatures that could fly started to back off as the Cybertronian hovered over them with his arms crossed being close to the energy beam emitting from the center of the room.
"I must say these creatures do let me appreciate weaker Autobots from back in the day." He chuckled knowing that for the most part, the battle was over. As he continued to smirk about his accomplishment, he noted something…he felt like he'd seen these things before. Well, not necessarily these creatures specifically but it seemed like he'd encountered something like these before.
He continued to gaze at the creatures, he couldn't shake the feeling that these things rung some kind of bell. On top of that it seemed somewhat recent account…why? He didn't know but the creatures claws; there flawed organic structures and other characteristics just seemed to strike him as if he should know. As far as he could remember, he never had any kind of run in with Primacron's creatures, minus Unicron if that really counted, but he couldn't shake the feeling.
"Wait…on Earth…before I joined the Autobots…" he mused to himself as he brought a servo to his chin to ponder as he continued to look over the once hostile creatures. When he attempted to kidnap Sari he saved her from a large monstrous multicolored creature with large claws that severely damaged him…well despite being 'immortal' at the time.
Is it possible that perhaps he'd disburse some of these creatures out? Why would he do that? What was the benefit, unless he actually tried using these…pathetic excuse for creations to do his 'restart the Universe' thing or whatever. But considering the mental state of this creature behind this madness, he wouldn't be surprised.
"Trying to order me some more?" a booming voice cried out.
The seeker shook himself out of his thoughts and tried to locate the origin of the voice that called out. The creatures he was looking over definitely didn't say it they seemed to be just as confused as he was, they were frantically looking for the voice as well.
The seeker growled, where was this voice coming from? What made it even worse was that he didn't have much of anywhere to look. Due to his large size, he was pretty much just restricted to the base of the complex was just a power conduit. He wished he could blow a hole so he at least see outside considering the booming tone seemed to be too big to be inside the complex.
Take a final look at the bunch of cowering creatures and seeing that they were not going to get in his way he flew to the wall of where he was, taking the opposite side of the once hostile creatures were and started repeating banging his fist into wall, he knew this would be awhile since was so sturdy but he didn't much of a choice "Let's see what this Primacron has in store for us?"
-Primacron's Lab-
Sari stood startled. While she was still aiming her arm at the alien creature, she was still a bit scared of what was to come. After all, she didn't really have much of a plan other than get Primacron to stop all this before Tornedron did the same thing Unicron did. Starscream and herself really had no plans or considered that they may be facing Tornedron himself.
The brown alien gave a small chuckle at the opposing being in front of him "It's too late."
Sari was about to break but she quickly shook her head "Well do something! Weren't you controlling him?"
Once again he chuckled as he looked over his computer console with the monitors that displayed the cloud like ball of energy. "I lost control…" he said it in an almost dream like state "As I did with my creations… as I did with Unicron…"
Now Sari was a bit creped out by his actions and tone "Come on! We can fix this if you just…"
"I lost control…"
A laugh boomed once but it wasn't boisterous, it was more like a light chuckle "It was only a matter of time I broke free…"
Sari at this point gave her full attention to the monitors as Primacron slowly walked back to his console, completely ignoring Sari. She didn't stop him, in fact she basically followed him but kept her distance, still keeping her Cybertronian arm exposed and making sure she could get a look at the monitor.
The cloud of energy continued to chuckle as he seem to know that it was just his creator in the facility. "Well do something!" Sari cried out "Surely you can still stop him."
Primacron groaned, more out of annoyance than concern "I've already tried!" he nearly yelled, making her take a step back "While you and that war machine were dealing with my creatures, I've done everything I know! Minimizing the ion-flow, you name it, I've done it."
Sari's already exhausted and stressed out as is, almost wanted to cry but she wasn't able to, she had to stay focused. Was this really it, there was literally nothing that could be done, there was nothing that could stop this thing? No…Sari was one to always to fight to the end and with so much at stake she wasn't going to make an exception for this.
The girl immediately pushed the creature away from the computer and immediately went to go see if there was anything she could do. Unfortunately, this wasn't the main computer terminal at Sumdac Systems she was familiar with. She was essentially hoping that with a few button pushing she would spring some kind of method.
Primacron rubbed his head and chuckled again "What were you hoping for girl, a reverse switch?"
Sari almost wanted to say 'yes' but nothing was that simple and she wasn't that naïve. She looked at the alien console; it was nothing like anything she'd worked with before. Some of the buttons weren't labeled…not that it mattered; the ones that were labeled were in some kind of alien dialect. She took a moment to grab her key and looked for a data port on the console but didn't find one.
Primacron groaned, his once incisive chuckling ending "You have nothing to worry little girl."
Sari turned her attention to the brown alien creature "What do you mean?"
"My facility has been fortified with a special insulating alloy; he can't cloud the facility and drain its power." He chuckled "You didn't think that I would create a creature of energy without making some kind of protection did you?"
"So…" Sari looked around before turned herself completely to face him "We're safe?"
The creature rubbed his hand "More or less. He merely can't drain the facility like he has other places." He sighed angrily, while was amused by the survivor's hopeless endeavor to get in control of his creation didn't mean he still didn't want her dead along side the Cybertronian. No one was supposed to survive. But through a stroke of luck they still live. Granted both of them were clearly exhausted and probably were just about to fall over but obviously persistence was keeping them going.
"So…what can he do then?" Sari asked. The way he said 'more or less' gave her the impression that there was some details that he was choosing not to speak. Not that it really mattered; she was more worried about trying to stop this thing than anything else.
Primacron's expression got serious like when they first met "Nothing, I'd rather fail than have you stop him." He said silently before glaring at her "He'll find a way and construct into a being…more likely one of my previous creations."
Sari noticed his once somewhat maniacal attitude was turning more hostile, she immediately transformed her arm into it Cybertronian form, hoping it would give him the impression to back off but it didn't seem to faze him. "What are you doing?"
"Your survival is my least concern."
She was about to raise her arm to aim her 'makeshift' weapon but her quickly grabbed her arm pushed it up. She accidently fired the weapon into the ceiling, before Sari could retaliate, the brown alien punched her across the face, forcing her to take a step back. Before she could recover he pushed her hard outside his small control room, forcing her onto her back.
Sari growled and fired her weapon at him but he quickly closed the door and he remained unharmed. She got to her feet and ran to the shutter door but was unable to make it open. "Open up! We can still stop him!" she yelled hoping to get through to him.
"I would rather him succeed then have all my hard work be for nothing!" he called back. At that moment she could hear footsteps going away. She growled again as she activated her blue energy blade on her Cybertronian wrist and tried to cut through the door but to her surprise it didn't seem to have any effect, merely bounced off the alloyed door. She used her other hand holding onto her key but again there was no port to use it.
Sari left out a huff as she put her arm back to its original human form. The ten year old sighed while she rubbed her eyes; she was so tired she couldn't believe she was actually still standing anymore but they she had to find a way to stop him, with or without Primacron. But what? She considering looking all around the complex on foot but she knew that it was essentially just a huge prison that was probably now empty since he sent most if not all of them at Starscream.
"You can't hide forever…master" the booming voice of Tornedron called again.
"There has to be something…" she said silently.
She shook her head tried to stay awake "Hopefully Starscream will have will have a plan." She started running back the way she came hoping that together they could come up with something before Tornedron would make his way in.
-Base of the Complex-
Starscream continued to pound into the wall almost senselessly. Unlike a few moments ago, he was finally showing some progress, which was relieving considering he'd been doing this for sometime now and only now was he seeing some cracks into the fairly sturdy walls. The seeker had to admit that the complex was very well constructed.
The entire time he occasionally looked over his shoulder to make sure that the creatures he was previously fighting wouldn't just attack him from behind and to his surprise they seemed to be just ignoring him and looking for the loud voice. As long they stayed out of his way he wasn't going to worry about them.
"You can't hide forever…master" a voice boomed.
Starscream ignored it. This obviously confirmed his thoughts that the voice from earlier was Tornedron. But he immediately stopped punching for a moment. Was this a good idea or not? If the voice was Tornedron, then why hasn't drained this place with them in the compex? He wanted to ignore it, usually he didn't have time dwell on such things, back with the Decepticons or when he was just resting along the sidelines with an occasional intervening hand on this, he mostly just acted, not think.
But with everything happening and his recent revelations he forced himself to stop and actually think about this whole thing, seems that thinking before acting actually had more 'positive' outcomes. He lightly knocked on the crack tried to analyze what exactly he was hitting.
He was able to conclude that it was some kind of alloy not metal. Types of metal and alloys were not his strongest field when he was a scientist. Then again, he hasn't been one for a quite a long time. But metals and all that was not his strongest field. All he knew was that he couldn't keep this up because he was probably damaging his servos before he was doing any real damage to the wall.
"Curse this Primus forsaken endeavor." He growled silently before turning around and facing the creatures once again. Still they coward at him/looked for the booming voice that had been calling.
"Hmm…where's is that techno-organic anyway?"
"Starscream!" as if planned, Sari called through the large hole they previously fell through. He was actually pretty surprised he could hear her so well, considering the loud humming energy beam in the center of the room and the terrified creatures making all sorts of beastly sounds.
The seeker immediately flew to where they entered into but only went in enough to just put his head and part of his wings to where she was, there was no real reason to get in there completely.
"So I see Primacron's creation is still around." Starscream began almost in a bored but also annoyed tone.
"Hey, it's not my fault!" she cried back "I tried to convince him to help us but I don't think that's going to happen."
"What? He rather be consumed by this leech and offlined than save himself?" He asked annoyed.
Sari gave a half shrug defeating "Yeah actually." She sighed as Starscream visibly rolled his red optics. "I tried to use his computer but I couldn't read anything" she then pulled out examined her key "I couldn't even find a port to use my key."
The seeker groaned "Probably wouldn't have helped anyway… Tornedrone, where is he?"
Sari gave a shutter to the point she jumped onto the seeker's shoulder "He's outside but he can't drain the place like he did everywhere else…well according to Primacron."
Starscream thought back to the wall he was previously pounding earlier. That could be what was so different about the wall, he could tell that it was a kind of alloy, but with Sari's information he could tell it was well insulated, and otherwise they'd all be dried out husks by now.
"But he can still get in." Sari warned "That's why I ran here as fast as I can, if there is some kind of opening, he can come in and drain everything from the inside."
The two of them stared at one another, Starscream's annoyance and anger drained as Sari's excitement was gone and had a saddened expression. They both realized that it was only a matter of time…they had no plan. Primacron was essentially their plan to stop this but now…there was nothing. They fought and tried to survive but to what end? They had nothing to fight off Tornedron and/or restore what he had destroyed…they have failed.
Sari sat there as she looked over the larger Cybertronian's red optics. She could tell that Starscream was pretty much in despair now…they could only wait for the inevitable; weather it would be Tornedron or both of them naturally exhausting their remaining energy.
But the dark skinned girl's strange optimism shined once more as she gave small smile to the large Decepticon catching the ex-Decepticon off guard "No matter how it ends, I'm glad that you became my friend Starscream."
The ex-Decepticon's expression softened a bit and had a very slight movement of a smirk "Well, I will admit young Sari" attempting to act like his natural self "Our little adventure since my joining of the Autobots has left me with no regrets." Sari smiled as tears came from her eyes. Starscream started to lower himself back down to base keeping his gaze on the young techno-organic "You opened my optics. Made me sit down start thinking about things…I thank you for that."
"I'm glad we're not alone." she said silently. The seeker chuckled weakly, giving in was something not in his character but there isn't much one can do against a ball of energy draining leech.
It was then a loud screech was heard throughout the complex. The two of them turned to the crowed cowering creatures and saw them running to another direction; others took to the air and tried to fly out. They turned their attention to where they were cowering from and saw noticed the large crack that Starscream created earlier was now having and yellowish-orange gas like substance coming in from space.
"Well…that didn't take long…" the magenta seeker chuckled a bit humorlessly. He didn't want to admit that he kind of sped up the process for the evitable. The two of them really didn't have much of a reaction other than the initial 'that was fast'.
It was strange…neither of them were really ones to give in so easily. Both of them were fighters to the end when back into a wall. Sari always stayed optimistic as Starscream was one fight when running wasn't an option. But this was one where they couldn't run or fight they could just wait for the inevitable.
Starscream landed at the floor with Sari still staying on his shoulder looking at the orange cloud with interest. "A being of complete energy…"
Sari didn't say anything just looking at the cloud form. Right before their very eyes/optics they saw the cloud take a form. Surprisingly enough the cloud seem to construct itself into a creature, in-fact it was a lot like the creatures that Starscream dealt with earlier. It looked like a solid form, like it wasn't a cloud but it rather had an orange aura around it.
"That rules out whether or not he created them." The seeker said ideally. He turned to Sari and noted that she was facing him already "Thanks for opening my optics Sari."
"Thanks for listening." Was her only response.
Both of them turned back to the constructed cloud creature and saw it was about to strike with it's constructed claws and ran toward them. Both of them waited, running was only going to delay the inevitable. He jumped into the air taking a striking pose. It came to attack but immediately it stopped, turning back to a cloud flew back before constructing again to the creature but staying away.
"Huh?" both said in unison at the creature's actions.
"Surely Tornedron wouldn't be afraid of us." The seeker said trying to understand what just happened.
"I don't-" it was then that Sari noted that her key was glowing brightly. She removed it from her neck and examined it. "My key…"
Starscream turned to her and saw what was happening "It's afraid of the key." It was then that Starscream smirked and Sari herself felt a surge of confidence "Well, obviously Tornedron doesn't like your key."
"About time we go on the offensive." Sari smirked out at the cowering construct of energy.
"Hang on!" Starscream grabbed a hold of her and transformed, making sure was safely in the cockpit but kept it open "Time to play!"
With that the jet flew straight toward the creature with Sari holding her key out as it glowed brighter and brighter as they got close to it. The creature continued to cower away and did away with its constructed form go as a cloud once more. But that made this task a bit difficult. While the area was large enough to fly in, it was still constricting for a jet. And despite Starscream being more agile than most Cybertronians, he could hardly move like the cloud.
The cloud continued to avoid them, even ignoring the large pulsing energy beam at the center of the room. This went on for awhile but Sari could tell this wasn't going to work. "Starscream, this isn't working!"
"Like I didn't notice." he sneered "You got a better idea?"
Sari thought for a moment "Actually…yes I do." She smirked "Transform." The seeker did as instructed and she fell into his servos. "Fly like this, hold me out…just don't drop me!"
The seeker smirked "Very well." He held her out, trying to not further injure her ankle as she kept her out in front of her. "Trying to be a small primitive spear I see."
"It's better than what you were planning." Sari argued as she closed her eyes, she knew this was going to be windy. Starscream rolled his optics and tried to once again see whatever made this key a big deal against Tornedron or this portion of him anyway.
After a moment, Starscream seemed to be able to keep up with the cloud, while not being able to go as fast as he could in his vehicle mode, he was able to catch up with him better due to being able to make shaper turns. After doing this for a moment, the seeker realized that while this was working better…it still wasn't going to work; he couldn't fly like this forever after all.
"Sari, hold on! And keep that key out in front of you!"
"What?" she uttered before feeling a surge of wind coming toward her. She didn't dare open her eyes to see what was happening. All of a sudden she heard a loud crackle of energy and the wind she once felt was no longer there. She opened her eyes and saw that her key was inside the cloud they were chasing all this time! At this moment she noticed that the key was getting brighter as the cloud in front of her crackled and continued to fizzle away before her very eyes. It was then she noticed that they were falling!
"Ah!" She screamed as the cloud completely disappeared falling even faster. Suddenly she landed into some familiar servos. She breathed hard dropping her key and saying on her back. She noted that key was not longer glowing. Starscream had a small smirk she suddenly glared "Are you nuts! I could've-"
"We could be defenseless." He argued "I'm running out of energy…"
Sari sighed but didn't let her angry subside "You threw me didn't you?! What if you missed?"
"Well I didn't!"
"But!" she stopped gather her thoughts and catching her breath "Whatever…so…we beat him?"
"You are not safe!" the voiced boomed loudly. This battle wasn't over…
