Chapter 27
"Clark, why did you marry Lois?" Clark looked at Dr. Bailey and opened his mouth, Dr. Bailey cut him off. "I don't want you to answer that question Clark, I want you to really think about it, you too Lois, why did you marry Clark? That is all the time we have today. We will continue this discussion next time."
Lois turned to Clark, "are you heading back to Smallville?"
"Not yet, I have to stop by the Embassy. Diana is meeting J'onn and I there for her check-up." Clark looks at Lois' face. "Do you want to meet afterwards?"
"I can't Clark, I have to get back to the Planet. Perry has been on my case about finishing my article."
"Of course, no problem. I will see you soon." Clark said as they stepped onto the sidewalk outside the Doctor's office. Lois turned North and Clark headed South.
Clark went around the building and found a back alley he could quickly change in. Once he was changed, he took to the skies and headed to the Embassy. He was not expecting the scene he came upon when he arrived.
He landed in the back garden, where Diana was laying upon a divan in the sun. She was wearing a soft flowing Grecian gown that hid her baby bump very well. She was laughing quite loudly at the man sitting across from her…Thor!
Clark landed harder than he intended to, his brow furrowed in annoyance, he walked up to the two. He wasn't sure what was going on but they looked to be sitting too close together to just be friends.
"Kal-el," Thor greeted him with a smile. Clark was upset, he wanted to know what Thor was doing here, but most of all, he wanted to remind Thor that Diana was off-limits.
"Thor, how is your wife?" Clark asked stiffly hoping to remind the God that he was married and should not be flirting with Diana.
Thor's smile seemed to grow larger, " she is wonderful Kal-el, How is your wife?" Thor looked pointedly at Clark.
Before Clark could answer, J'onn stepped into the garden. "Diana, we are ready now." Diana stood up hugged Thor goodbye and followed J'onn inside. Clark stayed behind.
"What are you doing here?" he asked Thor.
"I am visiting Kal-el, there is no need to be jealous, I brought your son a gift from Asgard. You need to go check on Diana, I will see you soon." Thor smiled again, and with a crack of thunder, Thor returned to Asgard.
Clark finally entered the embassy and went into the office they set up for Diana's check-ups. She was already sitting on the desk as J'onn asked her questions about the pregnancy so far.
J'onn and Clark finished the examination.
Clark smiled at Diana. Their baby was growing fast and strong. "I wonder how much longer it will be," murmered Diana.
J'onn laughed, " that is a question everyone on the satellite is wondering!"
Diana gently rubbed her belly as she laughed about Wally's betting pool. She couldn't wait to meet her son, but she didn't mind waiting as long as he needed to wait.
The house she bought with Bruce's help is almost completed, the security system is still being installed by Bruce. She wouldn't be living in the house for quite a while, but it was reassuring to know that it would be ready.
The trio walked out of the exam room. "I must take my leave, I will see you both next week," said J'onn. He then phased out of the room.
Clark and Diana smiled at each other, Clark noticed how much Diana seemed to glow. She was beautiful, and the fact that she was carrying his child…pregnancy definitely agreed with Diana. He shook his head to clear it, " I better head out too, Ma is expecting me for dinner."
Diana nodded, "of course, I will see you next week Clark." Clark flew away from the embassy to head back to Smallville.

Ma was sitting at the dinner table when he arrived. "Hi, Ma," Clark smiled as he sat down to eat.
"How is Diana doing Clark?" Martha asked.
"She is doing really well, she is feeling much better and my son is growing steadily." Clark smiled at his mother.
"Clark, I have to ask this, I need you to just listen to what I have to say…" Clark looked at Martha, he could see the concern on her face. "Ma?"
"Clark, I'm really worried about you. You have a very difficult decision to make, and I know you think you have made your decision, but you haven't. I really want you to think about your future. I want you to think about Lois and Diana, and I want you to make a choice. You have to, it will be the only way you can move forward. You are my son, but I don't think your head is listening to your heart right now. Will you promise me that you will really think about your decision."
Clark looked at his mother. He knew she was worried about him, he knew she just wanted him to be happy. "I promise, Ma."
That night Clark flew to his arctic fortress, sat and thought. He thought about Lois and Diana, he thought about counseling and he thought about how he would answer the Dr. Bailey's question. He thought about Thor and Bruce and their advice and he realized that they were all right, he needed to make a decision. He didn't want to hurt anyone, but he would have to.
Sometime that night, Clark made his decision.
