The East Pier used to be a place of solace for Evan. Anytime he felt like he needed to regroup and focus, this was his place to find his center. To find his peace. Today however, he was unable to find his center. The peace that his soul was so desperate to seek was alluding him.

Shepard and his team were six hours over due and every attempt to try and contact the Naharrans was met with static.

The first hour there was no contact Evan didn't even bat an eye. He knew sometimes things happen off world that delays contact. No biggie he thought. Then hours two and three came and he started to get more than just a little worried.

The worry he felt took on a whole new level when they tried to call the Naharrans and were meet with dead air. After the third attempt he knew then that something was seriously wrong.

Evan couldn't shake the feeling that they were in some kind of trouble. It pissed him off to no end that he couldn't be there for them. For Dani. She was in trouble and where was he? Stuck where he didn't want to be.

The only thing that brought him any kind of solace was that Colonel Carter was now back on Atlantis and she was coming up with a contingency plan. She had been in contact with the Prometheus who had just arrived in the sector. They were more than willing to lend their assistance if necessary to get our people back. All they need was the word go and they would be in hyper-drive towards Naharra. He would make damn sure he was on board because there was no way, no chance in hell, he was going to be left behind again.

The alarm on Evan's watch went off and startled him a bit. He looked down and saw it read 00:00. Which meant that his hour was up and it was once again time to contact the Naharrans. He prayed this time they would answer and give him some type of news.

He made his way down to the control room where he was met with both hopeful and grim faces. They all knew the hell he was going through with waiting to hear anything about the people they have all had come to care about.

Evan made his way over to Colonel Carter who was already standing behind Chuck. She gave him a small smile which he returned with one of his own.

"Ok, lets try this again. Chuck, open a channel and let's try and contact our people." Carter said

Chuck nodded and immediately began contacting the Naharrans.

"And if they don't answer?" Evan asked looking at Carter.

"Then we'll go with our contingency plan. Which I hope we don't have to use. I'd like to keep the Prometheus in our back pocket, know what I mean."

"Yes ma'am." Evan nodded knowing exactly what Carter meant.

First rule in poker and life. Never show your hand.

Evan was taken out of his thoughts when he heard Chuck talking.

"Colonel, it's the Naharrans. They are calling us."

"Well, open a channel!" Evan said quickly.

As soon as the words left his mouth he knew he over stepped. He then looked at Carter who had her eye brown raised and a smirk across the lips. Before Evan could even utter an apology she raised a hand to silence him.

"Under the circumstances Major, all is forgiven. Now, Chuck open the channel, please."

"Yes, ma'am. It's audio only."

There were a few tense seconds when all they heard was the all too familiar sound of static, then they heard a very familiar voice.

"Sheppard to Atlantis."

A collective sigh was heard all throughout the control room.

"Atlantis here, Colonel. Good to your voice."

"Yours as well. Look, I don't have a lot of time."

"What is it John?"

"It's Teyla and Campbell. They're down. Is Lorne there?"

Evan felt like his worst fears were chocking the words right out of him. He couldn't speak.

Carter saw the look on Lorne's face and spoke for him.

"He's here and listening. Can you tell us anything?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure what's going on. This whole thing is over my head. All I know is that the ceremony needs to take place soon. And when I say soon I mean as in the next few hours."

"What's upped the time table?"

"Maihari."

"The other sister?" Carter asked surprised

"Yeah. She decided to make her appearance. It took it's toll on Telya's body just like Campbell's. Ronon said that Maihari said the ceremony needed to performed soon then passed out. Campbell went down at the same time."

"Where are Teyla and Campbell now?"

"They're in the infirmary with their doctors and Tollara."

"Tollara?"

"Yeah, he's claiming he needs to be there for spirtual reasons. Which is the biggest bunch of bull.."

"We get it Colonel." Carter said cutting him off "What do you need on our end?"

"If you can spare them, Lorne and Carson. Campbell's definitely gonna need him and I don't trust their doctors. I want someone in there that's gonna be on our side and keep us informed."

"No, problem. They'll be ready to go in 30 minutes."

"Good. See you then. Sheppard out."

As soon as the transmission ended Carter called Carson. She briefed him on what John had told them and he was more than willing to go.

"I'll be ready Colonel. There is another thing I'd like to bring up."

"What is it?"

"I found something in Teyla and Campbell's genetic make up."

He paused and the silence was starting to scare Evan.

"What is it, Doc? What did you find?" Evan asked

"I think they are changing"

"Changing, how?" Carter asked

"They're becoming more Naharran."

Carter had heard enough.

"You two gear up. You ship out asap. The sooner you two get to our people the better."

"Aye, Colonel." Carson said

"Yes ma'am." Evan said.

As Evan left the control room his mind kept repeating the same thing over and over again.

"Hold on Dani. I'm coming."
