The day where it was only a week till school started again, Lucy was running around everywhere trying to get this or that done. Especially since she had work piling up again and again like there was no tomorrow. She has food to cook, laundry to do, school work to do, files to file, and take care of Natsu who just messes everything up if he even tries to help. The only thing he could probably do was sit on the couch and watch television since that was the only thing he didn't break or mess up, yet.

Lucy hated that fact she wasted almost three months in a coma and since Lisanna gave birth too, she's been checking up on her too.

It was a hard time for her and everyone else and it was harder since Mirajane decided to room with them till her last day in Magnolia which was two weeks.

"Lucy! You're out of soap again! I think you should buy some more!" Mirajane sang from upstairs as Lucy chopped up some vegetables with Natsu, the blonde huffing as Natsu chuckled at her. He dumped the chopped up vegetables in a pot as he kissed her cheek before running upstairs, shouting at Mirajane to not touch whatever she was touching.

Lucy didn't even know why Mirajane decided to live with her when her old house was just a mile or two away. Maybe it was because Lance and the whole Dreyer family were there but it didn't give her an excuse to stay at her place.

She said something about 'bonding' and missing Natsu was some reason... but it drove her insane.

The model, indeed, was her role model and Lucy loved her. But she could get a bit annoying at times since she didn't know where things were and most of the time; she barged in like it was normal thing.

She walked in on them during one of their sexy times and Lucy was scarred. Never would she have thought the Mirajane who posed for the biggest magazine blogs would be this difficult to handle. Maybe it was because her younger sister was married before her and gotten a kid... while she was running around the world taking pictures for her job and getting dumped almost every week.

Natsu did say the most she could do in a relationship was a month—could that be a reason why she was depending on her so much?

"Lucy! What are you making there? Smells delicious!" Mirajane exclaimed as she popped in, smiling widely as she opened the top of the pot to look inside. She gasped when she noticed it was beef stew, making her eyes twinkle. "Lucy... how'd you know I love beef stew?!"

"N—Natsu suggested we make beef stew, actually..." Lucy laughed as she cut the potatoes into halves as Natsu walked in, getting glomped the second he was there. He held onto the famous model who cried tears of joy, sighing in process. "M—Mira... you okay there?"

"Natsu, I'm so happy you remembered I love beef stew!"

"Well that was the only thing you would cook for us long time ago so..." He trailed off as he pried the woman off himself. He grabbed her shoulders and smiled at her. "You should go dry your hair—you'll catch a cold."

"Oh Natsu, why can't I find someone like you? So caring and nice... why can't I keep a boyfriend?!" She started to cry making Lucy and Natsu cringe.

Lucy put down her knife as she walked on over to Mirajane, smiling at her. "Mira, I think you're just really emotional over everything that's happened for the past couple months so why don't you go rest?"

"But I want beef stew..."

"I promise we'll leave some for you too. Okay?"

"Okay... you're the best, Lucy... I envy you too, Natsu." Mirajane mumbled as she rubbed her eyes and walked back on upstairs to the guest room. Once she disappeared and they heard the closing of her door, Lucy let out a deep sigh as she looked on over at Natsu who shrugged sheepishly. "I know she can be a handful but you get used to her."

"Is she always like that?"

"No. I guess she's just really emotional—it's okay, she won't be much of a bother once she leaves."

"I already have you to take care of; having an addition to the list is not my ideal plan."

"Well, it'll prepare you for the future." Natsu grinned as he kissed her cheek once more before opening the pot to put the potatoes inside. "After all—I'm planning on having at least three kids."

"I hate school supply shopping."

"I love it, actually."

"Well because you're a girl and girl's like shopping."

"That's sort of sexist and stereotypical." Lucy said as she put in a box of pencils in her shopping cart as Natsu followed behind her, sulking slowly. "Do you think it was okay to let Mirajane stay home alone?"

"Luce, she's a grown twenty-five year old woman—I'm positive she can."

"Well... I'm kind of worried." The blonde said as she looked at her list of supplies, going down aisle to aisle as Natsu followed. "Its okay—Mirajane's one of the most responsible person I know. She'll be fine." He waved it off as he grabbed some notebooks and placed them in the cart. He looked down the place as he tried looking for some dividers, waiting for Lucy as she aimlessly dumped whatever she liked into the cart.

She seemed to be zoning out a bit and it worried him, watching as she just stared off into space.

"Is everything alright, Luce?"

"Huh? Yeah... everything is, why?"

"You're just zoning out a lot, that's why. Do you have a fever or something?" He asked as he placed his palm against her forehead, trying to see if she had a fever. He pulled his hand away when she was feeling okay, staring at her to see what was wrong. "Are you worried about Mirajane again?"

Lucy shook her head and smiled a bit. "No... I'm just thinking about my father, that's all."

"Why would you think about that asshole? He's nothing but poison to your brain, don't think about someone like him." He practically lashed out as he held her face between his large hands. He kissed her forehead and smiled, looking down at her. "I here for you so don't worry, okay?"

"No it's just... do you think he was behind of what happened with my coma?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... do you think he sent Dan out to Fairy Tail to purposely do this to me or—?"

"Luce, stop talking and start shopping." He interrupted as he grabbed her hand and pushed the cart with the other. Lucy looked at him worryingly as he didn't even turn to look at her, wondering if she said something to upset him.

"Natsu—"

"Hey, I'm going to go use the bathroom to stay here, okay? I'll be back soon," He suddenly announced as he turned to look at her and smile brightly. He leaned down and kissed her forehead before running off, leaving the blonde to watch his disappearing figure.

Meanwhile, the pink-haired man quickly sped-walked outside of the store, angrily cursing out curse words under his breath as he even thought about that man who even dared call himself Lucy's father.

Where in the world did that even come from? Why would she think of that all of a sudden when they're school supply shopping?

He didn't even think of that when Lucy was in a coma—could he actually be the one to do send Dan over to leave Lucy shocked and in a coma for almost three months? Could he actually hate Lucy that much that he did that to his one and only daughter?

Without second thoughts, Natsu whipped out his cell phone and dialed the number he saved as, asshole.

X

A man with dirty blonde hair coughed up a fit of coughs, pounding on his chest as someone came inside to worry and help him stop—handing him a cup of water as he drank it up. He thanked the woman as he sighed, sitting up straight to stare out into space, wondering about everything that's happened throughout his whole life. The fortune he desperately work so hard to make, the family he had, the things he's done... where did everything go wrong?

Suddenly, his phone started to vibrate pretty loudly next to his bed shifting his attention towards it.

He cleared his throat and grabbed his cell phone, pressing answer to place it against his ear. "Hello?"

"You no good filthy son of a bitch—did you plan it? Did you plan everything to happen the way it could so you can watch her suffer?! Did you?!"

"E—Excuse me? Who is this?"

"Do you hate her that much that you had to send that douchebag of an ex to come and shock her and put her into a coma for three months? Three months?! Do you realize how much I suffered watching her lay on that bed motionless for three months?!"

"Who is this?! Who are you talking about?!"

"I'm talking about your daughter, Lucy Heartfillia!" He shouted through the phone making Jude's whole body turn numb. "D—did... did something happen to Lucy?" He choked out as he started to think of his precious little girl.

"Something sure did. You're lucky she's alive right now or I would have come to you personally and beaten you to a pulp! Now answer me... did you, or did you not send that fucker Dan Straight to come to Fairy Tail so he could purposely shock Lucy and put her into a coma?! Did you?!"

"No... No, I didn't... I didn't even know Lucy was in a coma... no, I didn't know any of this."

"Of course you didn't because you're a lousy father. A father who doesn't even care about their child's happiness or well-being. If Lucy died, you wouldn't even care since you're nothing but filth! You better stay away from us because if I even see or hear about you interfering with us again... I won't hesitate to kill you."

"Wait, please, tell me—!" Jude started to shout into the phone but stopped as it went dead, making his eyes widen and sweat appear. He stayed in the position as he heard the constant beeps that came from the other line, slowly lowering his arms as he thought about everything that's happened and what he had said to him.

Lousy father? Nothing but filth... Lucy in a coma... Lucy hurt... Lucy almost dying... what in the world happened?!

Jude fumbled with his phone as he was about to dial Lucy's number, pressing his contact list to press her name when suddenly, he felt pain shoot through his chest, making him grunt and groan in displeasure.

He clutched the area where his heart was as he dropped his cell phone, quickly trying to press the button to call the nurse as he realized he was having a heart attack.

He gasped out as he desperately tried, the pain increasing as his eyes slowly went shut—everything around him going black.

That night Lucy lied in bed reading a novel as Natsu came out of the bathroom, yawning and shirtless as he crawled in besides her. He lied his head down by her shoulder and looked at her book as he wrapped his arm around her, smiling at her. "What you reading, babe?"

"A romance."

"Don't tell me it's one of your porn books—"He teased making her blush and scowl at him. "It is not! This is pure romance—all the lovey dovey stuff." Lucy declared as she held the book up for him to see. He scoffed when he realized what book she was reading, getting comfortable. "The 'notebook' was total shit."

"Excuse you. The Notebook was one of the best movies made," She snapped making Natsu shrug. "It's just a normal romance."

"What if that happened to us?"

"Well then your name would be Allie and my name would be Noah. But I'm Natsu and you're Lucy so shhh," He shushed her as he grabbed her book and pulled it out of her hands, making her protest. She reached for it but Natsu just threw it aside, wrapping his arms around her to kiss her and flip her over on her back.

The blonde squealed and giggled as he kissed and playfully touched her, leaving heated kisses all over her body.

"If it was like the Notebook... I'm sure we would have some crazy sex."

"Is that all you think about?"

"Most of the time." He smirked as he leaned down to kiss her lips but as soon as they were about to, Lucy's phone rang making her try to push away the male who just continued what he was doing. "Natsu! Stop! I have a phone call—eeek!"

"Well they should know better—who calls at ten at night? It's probably something stupid—just let it go for now."

"What if it's important?" Lucy asked making Natsu stop and stare at her, hovering over her body. He was silent for a moment before grabbing her phone that rang and answering it himself. "Hey—!"

"Hello, Lucy Heartfillia speaking." Natsu answered in a high pitch voice, trying to sound like his fiancé who giggled uncontrollably under him. He grabbed her hands and pinned them down to keep her from taking them away, straddling the woman beneath him. "Yes, this is Lucy Heartfillia. Who may this be?"

"This is the doctor that has taken care of your father... I am sorry to say this but he had passed away just today... will you come by soon to see him?"

Natsu's eyes widened as he quickly got off Lucy, clearing his throat to change it back to his regular deep one. "What? Can you please repeat that?"

"Ma'am what happened to your voice—"

"Shut up! What did you just say?! Dead?! How?!" He shouted into the phone making Lucy sit up and look at him in worry. "Who is it?" She mouthed as Natsu waved her off, pressing the phone closer to his ear. "How did he die?!"

"He had gotten a heart attack... we are not sure what caused it—it was sudden. We did not expect it since he did have leukemia. He was supposed to live for a good three more months but the heart attack brought his due date closer... will I be able to see you tomorrow to speak about this?"

"Yes... Of course, t—thanks. Can I have the address?" Natsu asked as he stood up to quickly grab a pen and paper to scribble down the address the doctor gave him. Once he finished, Natsu ended it and sighed loudly, running his hand through his messy pink locks to look back at Lucy who came forward. "Who was that? What happened? Who died?" She asked as concern drenched in her voice. She looked directly at Natsu, who frowned, and sighed. "Luce... you need to stay calm, okay?"

"Calm about what? Is it about your father? Did your father pass away?! Or is it one of our friends?! Lisanna?! Erza—Gray?! Who—"Lucy started to freak out making Natsu grab her shoulders and shush her. "Luce, it's nobody you named."

"Then... what? What is it? Who passed away?"

"Luce... your... your father passed away today. We have to go see him tomorrow."

As the words flew out of his mouth, Lucy became still, staring directly at her fiancé who just frowned, watching her expression. He waited for the waterworks to start but no matter how long it took, she just had the blank expression on her face.

"Luce—please don't tell me you're in shock again. I can't—"

"No, I'm not. We'll head downtown tomorrow around one... right now, I need some sleep. Care to join me?" Lucy asked as she smiled at Natsu who frowned. "Luce, don't force yourself—"

"Who says I'm forcing? Come on, let's go to bed. It's late and if we're loud... who knows what Mirajane will do."

"Are you... are you sure?"

"Positive." The blonde nodded as she guided Natsu back to their king-sized bed, lying down next to each other. Lucy pulled the blankets on top of her as Natsu turned the lights off, the couple snuggling against one another in the dark.

"You sure you're fine?"

"Yes, I'm perfect."

The next morning when the couple woke up and asked Mirajane to stay put and take care of herself for at least the day, she kindly agreed and went back to sleep. Lucy had no other worries about Mirajane since her father was all that was in her mind as Natsu drove and took her to places—the male constantly asking if she was okay or if she needed something. But she didn't, she didn't know what it was but... she was completely okay.

When they spoke with the doctor who called last night and he told her about what happened, she stayed calm during the whole thing and nodded, speaking back if needed. She received the documents she needed and then gotten the address that belonged to her father where he was buried right next to her mother.

The trip there was silent and comfortable as Natsu drove to the site. He couldn't help but just stare at her and wonder if she was okay.

Lucy was never this quiet... even if she was sad—she would rant and cry loudly but this time... she was quiet.

Could it be something he had said that made Jude get a heart attack? Was it his fault he died?

The couple arrived where the Heartfillia's lied and Natsu parked where the parking lot was, the couple having to walk.

Lucy was quick to get out and walk ahead as Natsu slowly followed, watching her walk on over to the tombstones and place the flowers she bought right on her mothers and now, father's grave.

Natsu stayed behind as he watched his fiancé give them silent greetings, a frown emerging on his face.

It saddened him to watch Lucy look so strong and act so strong when he knew, she was in pain. Her mother disappeared from her life and now her father... Lucy must have been crushed.

Once she was done, she silently turned back around and passed Natsu who followed her once again. Guessing she was done with the memorial service, the two walked back down the path back to where their car was.

Just then, two teenage girls walked the opposite direction where they were going, complaining and laughing about stupid things.

And of course, one of the subjects was about their father's.

"My dad smells sooo bad and he never shuts up! All he does is talk, talk, talk, talk!" One of the woman with bushy twin ponytails complained as her friend with blonde hair giggled along. "Like, well, my dad is, like, super annoying! Totally, like, y'know?"

Natsu watched with a deadpan expression as the two clueless women talked about their father, making him watch with dull expressions.

"What makes him annoying?"

"Well, like, y'know, right?"

"I wish he would just hurry up and die." One of them said making Lucy's frown deepen. "Right? Like totally! For sure!"

Natsu clenched his jaw as he heard their annoying laughs, his hand turning into a fist as he turned around, giving them a look of hatred and anger. "Hey, damn it! You over there! Can't you read the air here?! Well?!" He shouted making the woman jump and look at him in fear. "Who the heck is that?"

"What you mean, like, read someone else's feelings? No way—"

"Just shut up and get the hell out of here!"

"I'd leave even if you didn't say so. Like, what's up with him?" The one with bushy hair said as her mouth formed into a pout, looking back at the angered man who watched them leave. "He's like, totally gross, like, totally, y'know?"

"Stop." Lucy said in a soft voice making Natsu jump and look back at her with a sheepish smile, sweat pouring down his forehead. "Err... well..."

"Sorry... for making you worry about me."

"Are you okay, Luce?"

"Yeah... it's just my dad... I was caught off guard." She said with a sad smile, looking down at the ground as Natsu pressed his lips into a tight line and listened. "Two months ago... err, that's not right. It's already been 7 months, hasn't it... back at the Heartfillia Mansion was the last time I saw my father. Ever since I was little... I didn't really like my father. On top of that, there was the whole thing about marrying Dan and breaking us apart... after that meeting we had, my relationship with my father seemed to change. He's the kind of person that would overwork his body into the ground..." Lucy sighed as a small smile curled into her lips, imagining her father.

She stayed silent for a moment before she looked up into the clear sky. "Why is it..? I'm so sad... and so lonely... but the tears just won't come out... maybe I really do hate my father."

"That's not true." Natsu said as he crossed his arms, looking directly at Lucy who looked down into the ground. "I don't really know how to say this, but whether your tears fall or they don't... I don't think that has anything to do with how you feel."

"Yeah... thank you. I really am okay now... I know that may seem weird." Lucy said as she smiled towards Natsu who came on over towards her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. He kissed her forehead and brushed her bangs out the way, smiling softly at her. "Don't worry Luce... I'll always be here for you so don't be sad, okay?"

"Thank you... now, let's head to the mansion. We have to take everything out of there before the end of the week or they'll take it, I heard..."

"Well, we needed furniture, didn't we?" He chuckled a bit to brighten up the mood, making Lucy silently nod.

The whole way there was just another silent trip.

"This place... this place is awfully dusty." Natsu said as the couple entered the place, Natsu running his finger through the table to have dust collect all around. He looked back at Lucy who slowly and carefully examined the things that were in the house, looking completely blank as if she always was. Natsu frowned as he decided to leave her alone for now, waiting for Gray to arrive.

"Luce, are you sure it's okay for us to take these?"

"Who else will? Gray's coming so he can take some things too if he needs... and maybe we can give some of these away to the others too. We can't just let them rot away forever,"

"Yeah but... its part of your childhood. Every one of these," He said softly as he held up a small candle making her smile at him. "I know but... I can't let it just rot away or get thrown away."

"What'll they do with the mansion then?"

"Guess they'll just sell it off to someone who wants it. I mean... I always hated this place. We'll just collect the things we need then go." Lucy said as she brushed her hands against the wooden surface, frowning as so much dust and dirt collected on her. She frowned as she noticed it was like that everywhere, wondering why it was so dusty when it was just recently occupied.

"Hey, Gray's here with Juvia."

"Bring them in. I'm going to head upstairs to look for some books to take or such."

"Alright—stay put, okay? And be careful," He warned as he dash off to the front entrance to go meet Gray.

Lucy just watched him go before he walked up the stairs, remembering when she was just six years old, she would have her Michelle doll with her as she ran up and down the stairs, laughing and giggling.

A soft smile appeared on her face as the sweet memories filled in, walking down the hall to past her father's studies, hesitating as she wanted to enter and look but decided not to.

The blonde walked all the way down the corridor to come upon her room, entering to have that still familiar smell of vanilla and lavender. Her room was the same it ever was and her queen-sized bed with white ruffles and pink blankets still lay untouched. Everything else was where it originally was and even her Michelle doll was there, face-down on her mini desk where she always sat and read.

Lucy decided she'll take the bed and desk, the drawers too along with her Michelle doll. They were all god sources to use for the house since they only moved in couple months ago and the house was nearly almost empty except for silverware and food. They needed furniture anyways and the rest that couldn't fit, she'll just put them in a storage room to keep until she has kids.

Her friends were also welcome to take some and the house is a mansion... there's a lot of things that needed to be taken away.

As Lucy marked down everything she needed and walked out of her room with her doll in her hands, she finally decided she was going to go into her father's studies where she hasn't been inside since she was just a girl.

Lucy heard the voices of her friend's downstairs as she opened the door and walked inside the large room that belonged to her father, looking around to look at the books and such all around—wondering if she should bring all the books home or just a few. As she approached the desk, she realized there was something on the desk making her walk on over there and look at the item.

It was a note that was addressed to her making her furrow her brows and stare at it for a while before reading it slowly to realize it was from her father which was written months before.

"To my beloved daughter, Happy Birthday! Even if I say that... I wonder if you'll read it someday. It's been a long time since I heard of you. I was and am always worried, but I believed you'll come back. You resembled Layla so much... you really were a 'blessed' child. So I kept on believing that you'll come back to me and we'll be that happy family again. I'm getting ready to finalize some big business negotiations in the west. It keeps me busy but I think of those days when I was fulfilled. I think of when I was with you and Layla every day. You are mine and Layla's pride. All I want is that you live strong down whatever path you believe in. I hope I can see you again soon. Lucy... I've always loved you... please never forget that."

Suddenly, without realizing, tears rolled off her face and onto the note, making Lucy reach up and feel the salty tears on her face. She tried stopping the tears as she looked down at the bottom to have fine printed words on it, trying to read it through her blurry vision.

"Natsu is also a great man... never lose him. He is a keeper—I wish you two luck during your years together."

She felt her body tremble as she slowly fell down to her knees, tears rushing down as she let out a choked sob that sounded like a cry for help. She sobbed and bawled her eyes out, soon having Natsu rush into the room screaming.

He held her tight as he looked at her worryingly, snatching the letter from her hands to read it, his eyes widening in surprise.

He looked down at his fiancé to hear her faintly mutter, "I've always loved you too."
