I'm so sorry for not updating. I have been doing a lot of college visits and preparation. Anyway, this story was intended to be very long, but I'm changing that. I'm thinking about ending it in a few chapters, but then having the continuation in a sequel because there is SO much more to learn about Austin. I know it sounds silly, but if I keep going with this story, there would probably be 100 chapters. Think of it like a season of Austin and Ally, haha!
Okay?! Thank you for all the favorites and reviews :) it means a lot!
They walked through Time Square, passing huge crowds of people, hundreds of boutiques, and various restaurants.
Austin noticed where she was taking him. She was taking him to the place where they reunited the night he chased her to his apartment. It took him back to the place in his life when everything was turning around for the better. He realized how much his life has changed since she came back and he was so damn lucky to have her.
"Hey," he nudged her. "This was where we reunited."
"Oh, ha ha," Ally stifled a laugh. "It is."
"I'm not really in the mood for Italian," Austin mumbled.
"Me neither, to be honest," Ally agreed.
Austin grabbed her hand and led her down an alleyway. "Let's do something fun," he said.
"Why an alleyway, though?"
"Not just an alleyway, there's this restaurant on the other side."
"How do you know about this bar? I thought you hated New York."
He laughed at her comment. He truly did hate New York, but he loved Maxwell's chocolate.
"Have you ever had Maxwell's before?"
Ally shook her head and Austin's jaw dropped. "You lived in New York for like four years. How could you not have had Maxwell's?"
"I was a broke college student, Austin."
"Understandable, now let's go. We'll get milkshakes and go somewhere fun."
"What is there to do in New York at 11:30 at night?"
"Ally, you lived in New York. You tell me."
"Broke college student," she repeated.
He led her down the alleyway and across the street to Maxwell's. They ordered hot chocolate instead, and then walked over to Central Park. Austin's mind kept telling himself to make a move, but he did not have the audacity to do so. The whole idea of them dating still freaked him out. He wanted her in his life for as long as he could and if they dated, there's that slight chance of them breaking up. He lost her once and he was not trying to lose her again.
Austin looked over at Ally, who he thought was shivering. It was surprisingly cold in October. He was never used to the cold, but it never bothered him. He slid off his jacket and draped it around Ally.
"You looked cold," he laughed as he put his arm around her.
"Thank you," Ally smiled.
The gesture was sweet. Ally was still so, so confused by him. He'll do the cute boyfriend type of things, but they were both still technically single. They walked back to the hotel without saying a word.
Austin went into the bathroom to get changed while Ally quickly changed in the bedroom.
"Can I open the door?" Austin asked as he was turning the doorknob.
Before Ally could even say a word, he was already sitting on the bed. "Too late," he added and laughed.
Ally sat down next to him and sighed. It was weird, too weird. They used to share a bed a lot in high school. Way before either of them had feelings for one another. Those times were simple.
Austin's anxiety was getting to him. He was trying to hard to fight it off. He didn't want to be defeated once again.
"Goodnight," he whispered.
"Night."
Austin lay there for hours trying to fall asleep. Ally was already sound asleep. He looked over at her and then at the ceiling. He sighed and shut his eyes.
He woke up around four in the morning and groaned. Ally was resting her head on his chest. She looked so peaceful resting on him. He slid his arm around her and pulled her closer, trying not to wake her up.
Ally woke up and tried to move, but she was stuck. She tried to look over at Austin, but once again, she was stuck. He had his arm wrapped around her and his head nuzzled into her neck.
He kept mumbling things and lightly snoring. Ally couldn't help but giggle, loud enough to wake him up.
"What are you laughing at?" Austin asked, his voice groggy.
"You," she grinned.
"What about me?"
"You know you talk in your sleep and you snore a lot."
"Nope, but now I do. I'm going back to bed."
"Can you release me first?"
"Nope. You're staying here."
"Austinnnnnnn."
"Shhhh. I'm trying to sleep."
He tightened his grip around her and nuzzled his head back into her neck. Ally lay there, over analyzing what they were. She knows once they return home, he will not be all lovey with her. He'll be the same, miserable, annoyed Austin; she flew out to New York with. Whenever they were alone, he was way more affectionate towards her. When they were out in LA by themselves, he would barely say a word. The only times he's affectionate towards her is when they're either alone or they're not in LA. Other than that, Ally is one of the guys. The more she was in New York, the sadder she got. She gave up so much just to be with her high school crush. She shouldn't have doubts about this. No, not at all.
