Chapter 27

"Captain! Captain!" Killian turned around to see Smee running up to him, his face red.

"What is it Smee?" He asked, his insides churning. Had Smee finally found what he had been desperately seeking for all these months?

"A bean," the short man wheezed out, "There's a man that claims to have a magic bean!" Killian grabbed Smee by his shoulders.

"Where is this man? Bring him to me!"

"There is no need. I am already here." Both turned to see an elderly man with a long beard standing just a foot away. " I have what you seek," he continued before Killian could say anything, "but not with me. I have kept it hidden within my house for many years. You must take me there first." Killian raised a brow.

"And where might that be?"

"By the edge of the Enchanted Forest." Killian barked at Smee to gather the crew before turning back to the old man.

"I am in no mood for games," he warned, "I shall take you where you desire, but if I find out that you do not have what I am looking for, you shall find yourself in a deep, watery grave."

"They call me The Apprentice," the man simply said walking past Killian and settling himself comfortably by the ship's helm.

The voyage would take long, perhaps a couple of days, but it mattered not, not if there really was a chance at making his way back to Emma.

"A message, Captain!" Smee yelled pointing up at the sky. Killian turned to see a small bird flying toward them, with a small pouch attached to its leg. There was a vial inside the pouch with a letter stating it was a memory potion. The sender left no name. Killian exhaled loudly, in relief, his eyes closed. Having the memory potion and well on his way to getting a magic bean, Killian couldn't help but believe that the Gods were on his side, taking pity on him, and reuniting two lost lovers.

oooooooooooooooooooo

Every step The Apprentice took towards him was excruciating. Killian held his breath. Did he have the bean? And if he didn't, what would he do then? He had already wasted nearly a year.

Suddenly standing in front of him, The Apprentice held out his hand. In it, a beautiful clear bean. Killian released his breath slowly, blessed Gods above, thank you. Before he took it, he stared hard at the old man.

"Name your price."

"What do you think this is worth?" Killian was taken aback. He was asking him? When he didn't say anything, the old man continued, "What reason do you have that you needed such a valuable item?"

"To find a woman," Killian replied.

"Is this woman worth being away from your home and family, possibly risking giving me everything you own for this little bean?" Killian looked the old man in the eyes.

"I would give up the world for her if I could. She is all the family I could possibly need and wherever she is, that's where my home is."

"Then that is the price."

"What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" The Apprentice shook his head.

"You are searching for your home, so that is what this bean is worth. Something equivalent to your home." Killian turned away from the old man puzzling out what he meant. Something equivalent to his home? There is nothing that could compare to Emma besides…

"The Jolly Roger." The Jolly had been his home for centuries, she was familiar and filled with so many happy memories. He remembered saying he didn't need anyone if he had the Jolly, but for Emma, he was willing to give away everything. He would give up his home of the past, to find the home of his future. He turned back to face The Apprentice. "I will give you the Jolly Roger." The Apprentice smiled, his eyes crinkly.

"Then the bean is yours." Accepting the bean, Killian walked back to the Jolly, and into his room only to come back out with a bag which he tossed onto the floor. Gold coins gushed out. The crew scrambled to pick them up.

"You will each split up the 100 gold pieces among yourselves and leave or obey The Apprentice as your new captain for I am no longer Captain of the Jolly Roger." Ignoring the protest and surprise of his crew he walked off the ship only turning back once, his heart light looking at the Jolly. Farewell.

After walking what seemed like for miles, he found an obscure port, housing small ships. Walking to the end of the dock he fingered the bean. Making sure the memory potion was secure, he threw the bean into the water. The water immediately began swirling into a vortex. He jumped in.

Take me to where Emma Swan is.

"Shhh!" Emma giggled pushing Walsh towards the door, "Don't let Henry hear you!"

"So what? Doesn't he know I'm dating you?" Walsh grabbed her by the waist and pulled her toward him. He leaned in to kiss her and Emma pressed a hand to his lips, pushing him back.

"It's just weird if he found out you spent the night here."

"He hasn't figured out about all the other nights I've spent here, and he won't know about this time either." Just then, the door to Henry's room began to open. Emma gasped and shoved Walsh out the front door and slammed it close before he could do anything.

"Was that Walsh?" Henry asked rubbing his eyes and sitting down at the table.

"Uh..no. Some guy came here by accident. Wrong apartment." When he didn't say anything, Emma walked over and ruffled his hair.

"So kid, who wants breakfast?"

oooooooooooooooooooo

"I'm beginning to lose my patience, monkey," Milah sneered at Walsh from the mirror. "How much longer?" Walsh crossed his arms.

"This spell will only work once I know she is mine. And I think I've finally gotten to her."

"Good because Killian is already in New York, and it won't be long before I am as well. Do what I have instructed you to do by tonight. That way she will never be Killian's." Milah's image faded away. Walsh sat onto the sofa, the weight of Milah's threats weighing heavily on him, but the box in his pocket, felt even heavier.
