When Temari woke up, she felt oddly light headed. She was also quite cold despite the blanket that she could feel over her and the fact that she was also being held in Shukaku's arms. With a content sigh, Temari rolled over and returned the embrace, only to freeze suddenly. Just how the hell did she get here? The last thing she remembered was going to the council meeting with everyone and then that Danzō guy going crazy and trying to capture the Bijuu. She had followed him and fought him, and then… everything got blurry. She vaguely remembered a blinding pain before everything just went black and she woke up here.
Sitting up in the bed, she glanced around worriedly before looking down at her clothes, which hadn't been changed or removed and were still covered in a small amount of blood. Without hesitation, Temari shoved Shukaku harshly in an attempt to wake him up. The Bijuu didn't so much as give a groan, so the blonde shoved him again, only harder. With a loud thud, Shukaku hit the floor before groaning loudly. Temari grinned sheepishly as he crawled back onto the bed and glared lightly at her.
"Morning" he yawned out.
"Is it morning?" Temari asked curiously.
"No idea. It hasn't been that long since I brought you back here, so it's possible" he replied lazily.
"Shukaku, what happened?" the blonde asked. "Why did you bring me back here? Why am I still wearing my bloody clothes? And why do I feel so cold?"
"Okay, there are some things I have to explain to you, but you have to promise not to try and kill me for it" Shukaku said, backing away ever so slowly from the girl.
Temari narrowed her eyes. "And why would I try to kill you for it?" she asked dangerously.
"Because you died," the Bijuu said quickly, preparing to get pummelled by Temari.
"I… died?" the blonde asked in shock.
"Technically, yes. That Danzō guy used an extremely powerful mind manipulating Genjutsu on you courtesy of his Sharingan, the end result, I assume, was you wanting to kill me," Shukaku explained.
"How does that explain how I died?" Temari asked irritably.
"The contract I made with the Shinigami" he replied simply. "It binds you to me for eternity, or rather, until I decide to release you from my service. That little word 'eternity', is taken very literally by him. He likes to bend it around and play with it too, which means you really are bound to me for eternity, well, your soul is. Your body can still die, but I will always have your soul," he explained.
Temari gave him an odd look and quirked an eyebrow. "You own my soul?" she asked somewhat stupidly, receiving a nod from Shukaku. "Okay, that's cool and all, and we will be discussing some more on that topic later, but it still doesn't explain how I died or how I'm still here" she said crossly, glaring at Shukaku questioningly.
"You died because you were manipulated into wanting to kill me. The contract has several rules built into it, such as you being incapable of actually trying to kill me. Since it was technically your body that the Genjutsu was used on, the contract solved that problem, by killing you and sending your soul back to me for safe keeping. You are alive now because I put your soul back" he replied.
"You put my soul back?" Temari asked incredulously. "How the hell does that work?"
"Simple really. I own your soul, so I can do whatever the hell I please with it. Putting it back into your body was a very simple procedure. Although if you prefer, I can take it back out again and put into a different body. Maybe an animal of your choosing, perhaps another person, guy or girl. I understand it that many of you humans find your own physical forms to be quite lacking"
Temari glared at Shukaku. "You even think about putting me into an animal, and I will kill you," she growled. "As for the other people thing, I'm going to say no. I am happy with the body I have, and I have no intentions of stealing someone else's just to look better. Besides, I worked hard to mould this body into the fabulous form it is, and I won't be giving it up without a fight," she said childishly, crossing her arms with a huff.
Shukaku stared blankly at the girl for a few moment. "Not a hint of modesty in you is there?" he drawled, getting a sly smirk from her in response. "Whatever. You can keep your 'fabulous body' for as long as you want. I might need to make some changes so that you don't age, and also to make it easier to repair, but otherwise it's up to you"
"You're damn right it's up to me," she stated proudly.
"You're taking this much better than I thought you would" Shukaku said with a raised eyebrow. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Of course I am. I just died and got brought back to life by my immortal master, but I'm perfectly okay," the blonde chirped sarcastically. "I've already gotten used to ridiculous things happening to me now that I'm bound to you"
"Look, I'm sorry for not telling you about that sooner, but I honestly thought I had a good couple of years before anything bad enough happened to the point where I would actually need to use your soul. I just didn't want you freaking out about being immortal"
Temari froze. "Immortal?" she whispered with wide eyes. "What the hell do you mean immortal?"
"I just finished explaining it! Were you not listening to me at all?!"
"Not really, no" the blonde said casually, before glaring at the Bijuu again. "But that is beside the point! How the hell am I supposed to explain to my brothers that I am immortal? How do I explain that to anyone? What am I supposed to do for eternity?!" she yelled.
"First of all, Gaara is fully aware of this already, and Kankuro probably won't care about it. Secondly, you shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone; if they have problems, they can come see me. And thirdly, you can do whatever the hell you want; that is the beauty of being immortal. Although I would still be careful if I were you. You might have an immortal soul, but there are still ways for your body to get fucked over, even after I make changes to it," he answered.
Temari groaned and fell back onto the bed. "Why can't my life be simple? I just wanted to be a strong kunoichi before settling down and maybe having a kid or two… but nooo, fate won't let that happen, now will it?"
Shukaku stared at her curiously. "You want kids?" he asked, tilting his head questioningly.
"Yeah. I sort of like the idea of raising a kid to be just as awesome as me, and also so I can stick them with Gaara and Kankuro so they can suffer a bit" she said with a mischievous smirk.
"You are a very concerning girl, you know that right?" Shukaku said bluntly.
"Of course I know. It does help that I can now blame my weirdness on being your slave. No one will ever doubt that it was you who drove me to insanity," she said with a giggle.
"Charming" the Ichibi droned as he laid back down on the bed next to her. "As for the kids. I don't see why you can't still have them. I mean, sure, you are bound to me, but I honestly don't mind if you want to go off and have a family. I could even release you from my service at a time you wish to die if you would like," he suggested.
"You would do that for me?" Temari asked in surprise.
Shukaku shrugged. "Sure, why not" he said flippantly.
"But… what about you?" she asked softly.
The Bijuu glanced at her in confusion. "What about me? I'll be fine. I am immortal you know. I'll probably just go about reinstating myself as god of wind country and figuring things out from there. No biggy" he said cheerfully.
"So you wouldn't want to keep me at all?" Temari asked, narrowing her eyes dangerously.
"Hey, I never said that. I just don't want you to think that your life is over because of me," Shukaku said quickly. "You're free to go whenever you want. I won't hold you back"
Temari rolled onto her side and stared at him questioningly. "And what if I don't want to leave?"
Shukaku stared at her stupidly. "Then I would assume you were insane and probably put you out of your misery" he said with a smile, only to get smacked in the head. "Yeah, my bad. I take it back," he muttered as he rubbed his head.
"Good" the blonde said before shivering. "Why am I still cold?" she asked with a frown.
Shukaku chuckled sheepishly before reaching over and pulling her shirt up to reveal her seal. Placing his hand on it, he surged his chakra suddenly and pumped it straight into her. Temari let out a sigh of relief as she felt the warmth flood her body. Her chakra, which she had only just noticed had been missing, began flowing back through her coils as if it were kick started into action by Shukaku's. Within seconds, she felt as good as new. Now all she needed was a shower and a change of clothes.
"Sorry about that. I just needed to turn your seal back on. It has a safety precaution that seals all of your chakra away should you die so it can be returned later on if you need it," he explained.
Temari pursed her lips. "As interesting as that is, I need a shower," she said, glancing down at her bloody clothes.
"Can I join you?" Shukaku asked with a perverted grin.
The kunoichi made a thoughtful expression as she stood up from the bed. "Sure" she said with a shrug, "I don't see the harm in it" she added as she began to casually undress on her way to the bathroom.
Shukaku watched her go with a gobsmacked expression. 'It's a trap. It's most definitely a trap' he thought. 'But an oh so tempting trap' he added.
Temari, after realising that Shukaku wasn't following her, poked her head around the corner and stared questioningly at the Bijuu. "You coming?" she chirped.
The Ichibi continued to stare at her warily as he slowly shook his head. "I think I'm alright for now. You enjoy the shower to yourself. I might go and see how the interrogation of that shark guy is going," he said as he stood up and put his coat on.
The blonde shrugged. "Alright then. See you when you get back or something," she said as she walked off to the bathroom.
Shukaku stared at the doorway for a few moments before shaking his head and disappearing in a swirl of sand.
Tsunade glanced unsurely at the Ichibi as she led him down to the sectioned off interrogation cell where Kisame was being held. It had been odd when the Bijuu had simply appeared in her office asking if he could help with the interrogation, but not exactly surprising; the Kazekage had warned her that it was a likely scenario. Normally she would have rejected his offer outright, but the interrogators had been having quite a bit of trouble with the Akatsuki member, so she figure Shukaku would have some unique and hopefully useful methods for loosening the shark man's tongue.
Reaching the door to the cell, she wasn't at all surprised to find a highly irritated Anko leaning against the wall next to it. The snake summoner looked up at the two of them and grinned viciously.
"Please tell me you two are here to cut this bastard up into sushi," Anko inquired hopefully.
"Afraid not, Anko. Shukaku here wanted to have a crack at breaking sharky's resolve," Tsunade said.
Anko's eyes glimmered. "Can I watch?" she asked almost pleadingly.
"Sure!" Shukaku chirped happily. "You can hold my coat"
The woman didn't even seem to care about being reduced to a coatrack and happily followed the two into the interrogation room. Inside they were met with a very irritated Ibiki, who was apparently not at all happy about being interrupted.
"What are you three doing here?" he asked.
"I'm here to make an omelette, snake lady is here to hold my coat and get wet from watching me make said omelette, and blondie is here to be a pretty face and make sure my omelette stays alive until I'm done with it" Shukaku replied cheerfully.
"I already regret asking" the man groaned.
"Hey! I am not here to get wet over some stupid torture methods!" Anko snapped harshly.
Shukaku grinned playfully. "But you will anyway" he said, earning an angry blush from the snake summoner.
"Can we please get onto the subject at hand?" Tsunade droned, already feeling a headache forming.
"Okay then" Shukaku said happily, as he grabbed a nearby chair and dragged it over to the table in the centre of the room. Sitting down on it, he stared curiously at the sharklike man who was smirking back at him. Kisame appeared to have taken quite a beating before Shukaku had arrived, but otherwise maintained his cocky demeanour. That was good. That meant he was going to break much worse.
"Heh, look who it is. The super powered Bijuu," Kisame said with a chuckle. "How exactly is it that the weakest of the nine is so strong? We had next to no issues with the five tails"
"Hmm, I'm going to ignore that comment about my brother for now. But to answer your question, I am as powerful as I am simply because I know how to be. You are far too human to fully comprehend that, but I figured you should know" the Bijuu said flippantly.
"I can already tell that you are going to annoy me to death. Why don't you just leave and stick the snake woman on me again; at least she was good to look at" Kisame grunted.
"Thankyou!" Anko chirped cheerfully.
"You're welcome," the shark man said.
A somewhat awkward silence engulfed the room as Shukaku continued to stare intensely at Kisame, as if gauging what his next choice of action would be. It continued like this for a couple of minutes, during which Ibiki had begun tapping his foot impatiently and Tsunade had fully developed her headache that was quickly progressing into a migraine. Anko, for the most part, was simply content wearing Shukaku's coat in place of her own and pulling a bunch of stupid faces at the Bijuu to pass the time.
"Truth or bear?" Shukaku said suddenly, his tone more serious as anyone had ever heard it before.
Kisame stared at the Ichibi stupidly. "Bear?" he asked in confusion.
Shukaku quickly leapt to his feet and threw his hands up in victory. "And he has chosen the bear!" he yelled out excitedly, getting the others in the room to jump slightly. Turning to Ibiki, he grinned happily. "Bring it in," he ordered happily.
"Bring what in?" the bandana wearing man asked sharply, clearly not happy with the Bijuu's theatrics.
"The bear" the Bijuu whined childishly, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Ibiki grunted. "We don't have a bear, you idiot. This is an interrogation building, not a zoo"
"Well sorry for not realising that you guys aren't fully stocked on the basic interrogation tools. Next time you can tell me that before I go requesting things mid interrogation!" Shukaku exclaimed.
"We should kill him now; it will be much easier to clean up in here" Tsunade muttered tiredly.
Shukaku sighed irritably and pinched the bridge of his nose. "It's okay. I can do this without a bear, it just won't be anywhere near as fun," he said. "But I will need a knife of some sort" he added thoughtfully, only to have a rather sizeable combat styled knife literally handed to him by a grinning Anko.
Everyone just stared at the purple haired woman with wide eyes, although Ibiki quickly managed to go back to being irritated. Tsunade just kept staring at her fellow kunoichi, searching curiously for a pouch of some sort from where Anko could have been keeping such a weapon, only to find nothing.
"Anko… where were you keeping that thing?" Shukaku asked almost fearfully, gaining Tsunade's attention immediately as she too was curious.
Anko winked playfully at the Bijuu. "A girl has to keep her secrets. But if you really want to know, I suppose you and that little slave of yours could come to my place for a demonstration" she offered with a wide grin and highly perverted glimmer in her eye.
"Sorry, but I have enough problems with just one girl trying to lure me into traps like that; I do not need you to be added to the mix" the Bijuu said seriously before turning back to Kisame and humming thoughtfully. "As for the interrogation. Without a bear, I'm kinda stumped on how to continue, but I guess I could just go ahead and break down his chakra coils," he suggested.
Kisame's eyes widened slightly at that. He didn't have Samehada with him anymore to negate the effects of having too much chakra flowing through his body, so he had no doubt that the Bijuu could very well destroy him from the inside out. That was one particular way he did not want to go out.
"Can you do that without killing him?" Tsunade asked curiously.
"Sure can. It should be simple enough. Worst comes to worst, he explodes; but I doubt that will happen" he replied offhandedly.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. There's no need to go crippling me," Kisame said quickly, sweating nervously at the thought of losing his chakra completely. "Can't we talk negotiations?" he inquired hopefully.
"No" Ibiki answered bluntly. "Any member of Akatsuki is stripped of normal captive rights. You are to be held, interrogated, and then executed once we are sure we can't get anything out of you," he explained.
"Buzzkill" the ex Kiri nin grumbled.
"Wait! I think I know how we can get around the whole execution thingy" Shukaku exclaimed excitedly.
Kisame stared at the Ichibi hopefully. "Really?"
Shukaku nodded enthusiastically and sat down again. "Raise your fin and repeat after me. I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. Fish are friends, not food" he said seriously, the crazed grin on his face being the only thing in contrast to it.
Everyone stared at the Bijuu with blank emotionless faces. "You are the biggest moron I have ever met" Tsunade drawled.
"What? All he has to do is say he's a nice shark and he'll be free to leave, right?" Shukaku asked childishly.
"No. We would still end up killing him" the Hokage replied.
"Well then, we best get a move on with the torturing" the Bijuu said cheerfully as he walked over and placed his hand on Kisame's head. "Sorry sushi, this is going to hurt" he apologized before surging his chakra directly into the missing-nin.
Even Ibiki and Anko winced at the blood curdling screams that the man let out, Tsunade being the exception as she grinned viciously at watching the man suffer. As far as the Hokage was concerned, he was just one of the fools who were trying to kill Naruto, who she saw as the closest thing to family she had left. She would gladly put all of them through as much pain as possible if given the chance.
As this was going on, Shukaku couldn't help but wonder if Temari had found some way to entertain herself for the day. He couldn't see Gaara and himself being allowed to stay in Konoha for much longer, so it was probably best she make the most of it.
'Kami I hope we aren't taking Kankuro and Tenten with us. Those two are bad enough as it is. We do not need them living together this soon in their lives' he thought with a shudder.
Somewhere on the other side of Konoha, Gaara also shuddered.
Temari sighed in boredom as she wandered aimlessly through the streets of Konoha. It had taken her a little while, but she had realised that life without Shukaku around was actually quite dull and boring after getting so used to being around the crazed Bijuu. Of course, there was the little fact that she had actually died, but that was very easily swept under the proverbial rug of her mind, as was the fact that she was, for all intents and purposes, immortal.
That in particular had been a very weird thing to truly come to terms with, and one she had spent most of her time in the shower thinking over. Being immortal felt… apparently not any different. The only thing that had really changed, aside from her ability to truly die, was that she had rather suddenly lost the fear of any potentially fatal activity. She supposed that was simply a mix of her ninja training and the fact that she was completely aware of being un-killable.
Shaking her head of that thought, she continued on her way in hopes that she would find something to do. That was when she spotted the two jinchuuriki of Shukaku's sisters. From the looks of things, the two of them were also having trouble in finding something to do, or they just enjoyed walking around like zombies. Walking up to them, Temari was surprised when Yugito simply stopped, stopping the green haired girl with her, and stared expectantly the ex Suna kunoichi.
"Um, hey" Temari greeted unsurely.
"Do you need something?" Yugito asked simply.
Temari tilted her head slightly at that. "Uh, no, why?" she asked curiously.
"Your master gave us rather strict orders to listen to what he says. I assumed that as his slave, you would also fall into the category of our superiors" the older blonde replied.
Temari chuckled nervously and shook her head. "Not sure about that myself actually. But I was actually going to ask if you wanted to spend the rest of the day together. I figured none of us really have anything else to do, and I wouldn't mind getting to know the jinchuuriki of Shukaku's sisters," she said casually.
"Well, I can't talk for Fū here, but I wouldn't mind spending some time in the company of someone who isn't against jinchuuriki" Yugito said irritably, glancing around at the villagers on the street.
"Having some issues with the locals?" Temari asked with a frown.
"Nothing serious. For now, they just refuse to serve us or let us into any of the higher grade establishments. It seems that Konoha doesn't hold jinchuuriki in very high regard," the Kumo kunoichi said with a displeased tone. "Especially those from Kumogakure" she added.
"Did you really expect anything else?" Temari asked. "I mean, Kumo is the only village that actually respects its jinchuuriki. Suna is much better now that Gaara is the Kazekage, but he isn't really a jinchuuriki anymore, so I guess that doesn't really count"
"I had assumed that the acclaimed strongest of the five great hidden villages would have a more pleasant, or at least militaristic, view on Bijuu containers. We are, after all, living weapons," the jinchuuriki said.
"That's being a little harsh on yourself," the younger blonde said with a frown.
Yugito shrugged. "The truth is harsh sometimes. No point in thinking we are any better than other shinobi just because we have more chakra. All shinobi are weapons for their village, it's just that simple," she said.
"Okay… that aside, is there anything you would like to do?" Temari asked curiously.
"I would like to go back to my village" Yugito said bluntly before sighing deeply. "However, I also understand that it is probably far safer for me here right now, and for Fū as well. The Raikage does have a tendency to underestimate possible threats; he is far too confident in Kumogakure's might. That being said, I wouldn't mind finding somewhere that will give me lunch"
Temari smiled warmly. "I know just the place," she said cheerfully. "My brothers best friend swears by it, says something about it being the food of the gods"
Yugito didn't bother to listen to Temari as she followed the younger blonde, holding onto Fū's hand as they went. She was simply concerned with finally getting some food. A small tugging on her arm made her glance down at Fū, who for the most part was simply following along like a lost puppy.
"Yes?" the blonde asked softly.
"Can I have some food too?" the girl asked cutely.
Yugito smiled warmly and nodded. "Sure, as much as you like" the bight sparkle of joy that Fū's eyes lit up with only served to make Yugito want to stick around more.
Temari grinned as she watched the very nearly mother daughter interaction between the two jinchuuriki. It was admittedly quite sweet to see them together, and she knew that if Shukaku had been there he would spend the rest of the day teasing them for it. As she walked towards Ichiraku ramen, Temari quietly contemplated just what exactly she would do about her apparent immortality. It wasn't a huge problem since Shukaku could end it whenever she wanted, but she was still slightly unsure as to whether or not she wanted to actually live forever.
She had no doubt in her mind that Shukaku would let her tag along with him for as long as she wanted, and he had also said she was free to go out into the world and do whatever she wanted, but she simply couldn't decide on which option to take. It had been a little surprising to learn that Gaara was already aware of her situation, but Temari figured it would help her out in the long run, as she could easily go to him for council on the subject. She doubted that her little brother would try to convince to do anything she didn't want to do and would probably offer her some very useful wisdom when needed.
"Hello!" an extremely boyish and exuberant voice yelled out excitedly from in front of her.
Temari stopped and her eyes widened slightly as they landed on the masked man standing before her with a black cloak with red clouds. Instantly dropping into a defensive stance, she positioned herself between him and the two jinchuuriki with her, flaring her chakra quite dangerously.
"Oohh, so much chakra" the man said childishly. "Now I can see why Itachi was so wary of you"
"What the hell are you here for?" Temari asked sharply, gesturing for Yugito and Fū to get out of dodge.
"Tobi is here for you!" he exclaimed happily.
Temari quirked an eyebrow at that. "You're here for me?" she asked incredulously.
"Yep" the man, Tobi, replied.
"Uh… why?" Temari asked in confusion.
"Tobi was told to capture you so that we could lead the Ichibi out of Konoha and capture him," the masked Akatsuki member explained happily.
"He is clearly insane. Are you sure that the Bijuu have not overestimated the abilities of Akatsuki?" Yugito droned.
"I would be the last person to say that their insanity mean that they are inept. Shukaku should be a prime example of that," the younger blonde said, not taking her eyes off of Tobi.
"Aww" Tobi whined. "I was hoping that would put you off guard," he muttered to himself before standing up straight and clearing his throat. "No matter. You will still be coming with me," he said in a much deeper and unfriendly voice.
Temari and Yugito instantly went more on guard with the man's sudden change while Fū merely tried hiding behind Yugito.
"Good luck buddy. I'm quite happy where I am, and I really doubt that your plan would work even if you could capture me," Temari said confidently.
"Hmm, I suppose you are right. We have no real way of ensuring that the Ichibi will come looking for you; but then again, we are willing to take that chance. Should you prove useless in that regard, I have been informed that you are quite skilled and would make a valuable addition to our forces. You were, after all, able to put Itachi on the defensive," the man said, leaving out the fact that the Uchiha had been holding back quite a lot at the time.
Temari grunted. "Who said I would ever work for you?" she spat.
Tobi chuckled darkly. "Who ever said you would have a choice?" he asked ominously before simply disappearing in a weird swirling vortex of space. He suddenly appeared moments later right next to Temari before grabbing her harshly by the arm and pulling her into the swirling vortex, both of them vanishing completely.
Yugito and Fū simply stared at the empty space in shock for several seconds before the blonde let her arms hand limply at her sides.
"Fuck" she cursed, realising that this would cause a huge problem as soon as Shukaku found out.
The entire village of Konoha, a large and extremely impressive expanse of buildings and training grounds, was all instantly put under an incredible and stomach churning weight. For many, it reminded them of the horrors of the Kyuubi's attack so many years ago, but for others, it was worse. The more adept of shinobi instantly recognised that the aura that had swept over and figuratively crushed the village was far more insane feeling than the Kyuubi's. It also seemed to be much angrier, if that was even possible.
"Temari was taken by who?!" Shukaku yelled angrily, his voice taking on a much darker and malevolent tone.
Yugito actually shuddered under the amount of raw power the Bijuu was pumping out almost effortlessly. If she had any doubts at all about the Ichibi's power, it was completely gone now. Glancing to the Hokage, who was standing off to the side, she noticed that even she, the legendary Sannin, was finding it difficult to be in the presence of the angry Bijuu.
"I… I told you… some guy… in a mask… just appeared and took her" the blonde jinchuuriki stuttered out nervously. "It happened too fast to do anything," she added quickly.
A deep and surprisingly loud growl rolled up from the Bijuu's throat as he began to retract his chakra from the surrounding area, compressing it back into himself. "They're dead" he spat angrily.
Yugito and Fū's eyes suddenly rolled back as their heads hung forward before rising again quickly with the eyes of their Bijuu.
"Are you insane?!" Matatabi yelled. "Even Kurama wouldn't be able to go against all of them alone. If you get captured, then we all go down. You know that Kurama won't do anything for any of us"
"Matatabi is right. If you go chasing after them, you will not be coming back," Chōmei said seriously.
Shukaku's face stretched into a truly vicious and insane grin. "Then it's a good thing I have a plan" he said before literally collapsing into nothing along with everything within a good five feet of him, which thankfully didn't include anyone.
Tsunade stared wide eyed at the small area of space that had all but disappeared. Turning to the possessed jinchuuriki, she noticed that they too were staring at the same spot, although with more fear than surprise.
"What just happened?" the Hokage asked shakily.
"Shukaku just found reason to kick start a shitstorm bigger than any war you've ever seen, that's what just happened" the Nibi said with a slight trace of fear in her voice.
"And it also appears that he has mastered space/time jutsu to a certain extent" Chōmei added. "With that combined with his already ridiculous skill set, I doubt there will be anything that could really stand up against him at the moment"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Tsunade asked.
"It means that Shukaku might very well wipe out a lot of shit while he's trying to destroy Akatsuki," Matatabi said. "If we're lucky… he won't be too close when he finally snaps"
Shukaku frowned as he reappeared suddenly somewhere near Amegakure. It was raining quite heavily and he was immediately aware of the chakra lacing each and every drop. No doubt someone powerful was using it to keep tabs on everyone within the area. He was just happy that the interrogation with Kisame had gone somewhat successfully. The man now had the brain activity equivalent to a baby, but they had learnt that Akatsuki was based in Ame. A win-win in Shukaku's eyes.
Looking off into the distance, he spotted the village not too far from where he was. With a particularly cruel grin, he flared his chakra to its utter maximum, blasting away all of the rain in a twenty foot area. The ground beneath and around him cracked and crumbled under the pressure as he began walking quite casually towards the village. There was no reason for him to rush into things any more than he already had; the Akatsuki, according to Yugito, had said they were using Temari as bait for him, so they were unlikely to try and kill her anytime soon… not that they actually could.
Activating the massive sealing matrix that covered his body, Shukaku felt the natural chakra all around him get pulled into him. The usually black or dark blue curse seal markings all lit up and glowed a bright gold as his chakra continued to build and condense with every step he took. He had no doubt that everyone within the entirety of the country was aware of his existence by now. Extending his arm out, he watched as Samehada quickly appeared in his hand courtesy of a storage seal on his palm. The large blade seemed to shudder in excitement as he hefted it onto his shoulder and continued on the warpath towards Amegakure.
"That's right girl," the Bijuu said sweetly to Samehada, his wide toothy grin revealing his gradually sharpening teeth. "Time to murder some people" he finished before chuckling madly, the sword growling and vibrating in its own display of enthusiasm at the idea.
Somewhere within the mortuary tower of Ame, Tobi, or rather the self-acclaimed Madara Uchiha, realised that he had most definitely fucked up somewhere along the lines of his not so thought out plan. He could just feel the accusing stares of Pein, Konan, and Zetsu, as the three of them silently showed their displeasure at his intuitive choice of action. Glancing over to where he had the Bijuu's slave tied up, he was surprised to see her awake and smirking smugly around her gag.
Yep, he had really fucked up. He just hoped he could amend his obvious mistake quickly, before things got too out of control. Judging from the amount of chakra he could see with his Sharingan… he somewhat doubted he could manage that.
He guessed only time would tell.
A/N:
I am terribly sorry for the long ass wait for this chapter, I got a little caught up in writing my other fic and doing some other time wasting things; not a very good excuse, I know. That being said, I am also sad to say that I do not think I will be able to continue writing this story as I never intended for it to be this long. This does not mean I am abandoning it however, it merely means that I will more than likely be bringing it to a close within the next few chapters. I have no idea how many chapters it will take to finish this, and I do apologize in advance if they seem much too rushed or simply move things a long too fast, like this chapter has.
I am sorry for my need to put an end to this story, but it just has to happen. If you still wish to read stuff written by me, I invite you to check out my other fic.
Please don't forget to leave a review.
Till next chapter.
Soul out!
