A/N:

Hai xD

Oh my, it's been awhile since my last update. I'm deeply sorry because it took a long time for me, well one month to update the new chapter. Last month was the peak of my hectic days (I wish it will be the last xD), that's why I could not write faster like before. However, I hope you all still remember this story :)

Well, I'm not going to make you all with my rumble about my daily days, so here's the new chapter xD
Chapter 28: The Last Mission

I wish you all enjoy this one xD

For Nyanmaru94
It's really hard to find words to describe how thankful I am for your help as my beta :)
Especially for this chapter, it's really mean a lot :3
Thank you so much, Mandy *hugs*

And, it's just a friendly reminder, this chapter will be a long chapter, around 11k (I guess), but if you found it more than 11k in your email it's because I have a long A/N below xD, it also contain ooc, and full of fluffy scenes, because they're together now, so it would have many interactions and conversations between them than in the manga/anime, hope you don't mind :)

Please forgive my grammar or spelling mistake. I'm not the best but I'll do my best.

Oh, before I forgot, I put a glossary in my second A/N because there were some parts of this story which use Japanese's terms :)

Disclaimer: Bleach belongs to Tite Kubo. God bless you sensei. Thank you so much for the 'small' ByaRuki interaction in your precious chapter and of course 'half naked Byakuya's picture. The best thing that ever happened for my own sanity T^T

Chapter 28: The Last Mission

Nothing much had changed at the Kuchiki Manor today. The air was still calm and peaceful. Outside, the tenderness of the morning light was sweeping away the coldness that covered the entire place for the night. The sky turned to soft orange from black as the last rays of sun peeked out from the end of the horizon. Inside, even if their Master was not there, everyone kept running their duties like usual.

However, there was something that felt a bit different. All of them looked more excited to perform their job. It did not mean they disliked their duty. They really love it. It's only that today, there was an unofficial good news that circulate among them, bringing joy to the entire Manor.

"So, Ayaka… is it true?"

Ayaka, who was busy cleaning the dining room, shifted her gaze towards Miwa, one of the maids in the Manor, the youngest one.

"About what?" she put her broom on the wall and took her napkin out of her pocket. Then she walked to the table and started to wipe it.

"Tsk, of course about Lord Kuchiki and Rukia sama." Miwa followed her steps until she was beside her.

"I heard several people making guesses," she leaned forward and whispered into Ayaka's ear.

"Is it true that there will be a wedding in the near future?"

Ayaka straighten up and looked at Miwa. "Well, I can't tell if the news are true or not. Though deep inside, I wish it's true, but for now, we can only wait." Ayaka resumed her work. She moved to the other side of the table to clean that part.

"How can you remain so cool like that?" Miwa demanded, still not satisfied with her answer. "It's about a wedding, the first one after 50 years."

"It'll be the shocking news ever, though we all knew about it earlier, however, don't you feel curious to watch the reactions of the entire Seireitei after the Elders announce it?" she asked dramatically.

Ayaka rolled her eyes. "Rather than talk about it, isn't it better for you to get back to work?"

"Tsk," Miwa grumbled because of the lack of reaction from Ayaka. She hoped more because Ayaka was Rukia's personal maid, but she did not give any the reaction she expected.

"Fine, I'm not going to ask further." She let out a soft sigh then took her duster. She walked to the window and began to clean the frame. "However, just like you. I wish they'll come back today and that all the problems between them have been resolved." She averted her gaze to the blooming flowers at the garden.

"Both Lord Kuchiki and Rukia sama deserve to be happy."

Ayaka stopped her work. With an indulgent smile on her lips, her eyes followed Miwa's direction.

"Yes, I wish that too."

We will wait for you, Lord Kuchiki, Rukia sama…

"So, are you really going back today?" Isshin broke the silence after Rukia finished her story. His eyes gazed at Rukia and Byakuya who were sitting before him.

Awhile ago, he was getting ready to open his clinic when he heard a knock at the front door. Feeling curious, he rushed to it, because it's rarely to have a visitor at this hour. So he could not hide his astonishment when he saw Rukia standing outside, and to add his surprise she was not alone.

Right beside her, standing proudly, was a man with familiar features, one he knew from the past. Kuchiki Byakuya.

It would not be a shocking view if was not because of the way they interact with each other. From their gestures, eyes, and closeness, he knew there was something between them. But, he believed it was a good thing.

"Yes, we will go back today because my mission was accomplished. But, before we leave we wanted to visit you first." Rukia replied as she put down her tea cup. Right beside her, Byakuya sat quietly. His right hand held her own tightly as his gaze focused on Isshin.

"I know it's all so sudden, but we have an important occasion in the Sei-"

However, Rukia had no time to finish her sentence as Isshin, without warning, suddenly cried out loud, making Rukia blank in place.

"I knew it!" he cried between his sobs. "I have a feeling that you will be gone soon." His eyes filled dramatically with tears.

"I knew you wouldn't come back ever since you and Ichigo went to school." He rubbed his eyes, and looked at Rukia with a melancholy gaze.

"A father's instinct is never wrong."

Rukia felt awkward as she saw Isshin's behavior.

"Well, that's… Errr, about it..."

Isshin raised his hands, as a sign for Rukia to stop talking.

"No need to explain, my dear daughter. I know... I understand…"

He took a deep breath before continuing his sentence. "It's just… It's still hard to accept that my third daughter finally found her man,"

For the second time Rukia could only stare at him blankly. However, not long after, a lovely pink hue appeared on her cheeks, and slowly, her face turned to bright red.

"Uh-oh, about that, we..."

But, Isshin did not give her a chance to finish the sentence again. His eyes moved to Byakuya and observed him for a moment.

"Take care of her," his eyes stared straight into Byakuya's, as if searching for earnestness there.

"My third daughter has undergone many difficult things, so as a father I want to see her happy. Could you make her happy?" Isshin's voice sounded serious so did his expression. No more laughs and drama that he has always shown.

"You do not have to worry," Byakuya's tone was calm, but full of firmness. He stared at Isshin without any hesitation in it.

"That's what I'll do for her." He replied firmly. Then he shifted his gaze to Rukia. It softened as soon as he looked into hers. Anyone who saw it could definitely feel how much feelings he had for her.

Rukia felt the warm feeling flowing within her when she heard his words. She turned to face the man she loved. Their eyes met, and just when she looked into his slate gray eyes, she could see the unspoken promise in it, a promise made for her. It was special, purely from his heart without been forced from anyone. And it was completely different from the other ones he had made in the past.

"I'm glad to hear that," Isshin said softly as he watched the happiness in her eyes. It was a lot different from the first time when she came to his house a few days ago.

A smile appeared on his face as he saw the couple in front of him. In their eyes, he could feel how enormous was the feelings for each other.

Love and trust. Things that reminded him the time when he was with Masaki.

"Oh! Fool me!" Isshin suddenly hit his head. "How can I forget to get you a breakfast! What kind of father Am I!" Isshin was about to drag them to the kitchen but Rukia stopped him.

"Ano, uncle,"

"Yes?"

"Thank you so much for your offer but we had had our breakfast before we got here."

Isshin raised an eyebrow. But, after a split second a playful smirk cross his lips. "Ah, I see… so you two already had breakfast on the bed, huh?" he teased.

Heat spread on her face. At this moment she could not arrange any words to encounter his guess because… he was right.

The images when she and Byakuya spent their togetherness on bed crossed her mind, evoking a tingling sensation when she remembered all those morning scenes.

Immediately, Rukia shook her head, trying to focus. Especially after she realizes that Isshin was still throwing a teasing gaze towards her. She glanced briefly at Byakuya who kept his passive expression.

"Errr…" she cleared her throat to calm her mind. "About… about that, we…"

Isshin waved his hand. "Why are you so nervous, Rukia chan. Nothing's wrong with that," his grin wider after seeing her red cheeks.

It took a few seconds for Rukia to handle his joke. She really loved him. He was a caring and friendly person, though sometimes it was difficult to maintain herself from blushing every time he threw his witty remarks.

Taking a deep breath, her gaze fell on the clock behind Isshin.

"Well, I guess it's time for us to go back,"

She took the last sip from her cup. Gazing up, her eyes met Byakuya who gave her a brief nod.

"Thank you so much, uncle." She shifted her eyes back to Isshin.

"I will not forget your kindness." A soft smile tugged at her lips as she looked at him. She is really going to miss her 'father'.

However, once again Isshin waved his hand. "Do not say those words, Rukia chan."

"Don't ever say any words that will impart feelings of farewell." He leaned forward. "We'll meet again. Perhaps… in your wedding." Isshin winked playfully, causing the girl to turn even redder. Oh… he really loved to tease her third daughter.

After saying goodbye and few words to convince Isshin that they will see him again, Byakuya and Rukia leave the Kurosaki house.

The sun was fully visible on the horizon. The light overflowed and sieved through the clouds. They slid through the leaves, creating crystal like patterns on the road. The morning breeze blew gently, playing with the branches of the trees along the streets.

They walked side by side with their fingers interlaced. No one talking. Both took their time to enjoy the serenity.

And at last, after some moments Rukia broke it.

"Byakuya,"

"Rukia,"

Rukia smile slightly when she heard his voice. It perhaps sounds odd, but she really love the way he called her name. So deep and tender.

"Thank you for accompanying me,"

Byakuya nodded briefly. He did not mind to accompany her to go there. Even he was glad because she asked him. Though he was quite surprised because he never thought she would take him to Kurosaki's house. It's been a long time since he met Kurosaki Isshin, but it seemed there was not much change in his attitude.

The third daughter? Since when Rukia became her daughter?

His gaze traveled to Rukia who was walking beside him. Few strands of her hair fluttered as the wind blew them gently. A thin smile appeared on his lips when he saw the way she tried to fix her hair which began to cover her eyes.

Byakuya stopped as well as Rukia. He reached his hand to hold hers. Then he lowered it before moving his own to tuck a few strands of raven hair behind her ear.

"Thank you, Byakuya."

Byakuya…

A warm sensation overwhelmed him as he heard the sound of his name from her lips. It was not the first time, but he never grew bored every time her delicate, shy voice said it. The way his name slipped from her tongue to his ear felt so right, making him pleased.

"It's not a problem." He said after a moment, and found her smiling prettily. However, from the corner of his eyes, he also saw her expression has changed, though only for a brief second before it was back to normal, but he knew, there was something in her mind right now.

Nonetheless, he did not need to ask further, because as they continued their journey, he finally found the answer.

"Umm… So, are we going home now?"

"It depends on you,"

"Huh?"

Rukia looked up and stared at him, puzzled.

"You still want to go to another place, am I right?"

The way she was blinking verified his assumption.

"How… did you know?"

"I can read it," he answered calmly.

"Don't ever hesitate to ask me." Byakuya stopped walking. He tightened his grip and drew Rukia closer to him.

"What you need to do is just tell me, like…" he stared straight to Rukia, taking his time to admire the purity of her violet eyes.

"What's on your mind right now."

Her eyes became huge. Her mouth gaped slightly, surprised by his words. She really did not have any idea that he had noticed it. Well, it seemed he always knew what's on her mind.

"Errr…" she bit her lower lip. "You're right about it…"

"There is one place that I want to visit before we're back home,"

"Do you not mind if we go there? I promise it's not going to take a long time."

Rukia's face became brighter when he gave her a single nod as the answer.

"Thank you!" she could not hide her joy. Her smile widened and her eyes were glowing with a glimpse of excitement attached in it.

"I bet you will like this, because…"

Byakuya observed her expression as she spoke about the place they will visit. Seeing the joy overwhelming her, he knew he was making the right decision.

"You'll never regret it!" she yelled enthusiastically

And as he saw her happiness, he found he was smiling along the journey.

''

"I'm sorry," Orihime immediately bowed as she accidentally bumped with a customer of their café.

The room was incredibly full with guests, especially with female customers who seemed captivate with the concept and the male Host of the café.

They all appear to have a special liking to Ichigo and Keigo, for everyone surprise.

That's why she was in a rush, Ichigo was missing and they need his help to attend the guests.

"Where is he?"

Orihime kept running while looking around the hall. It was full of people, Karakura's students and the visitors. In the middle of the crowd, she could see students wearing cute animal costumes. They looked busy distributing leaflets to promote their booth. She noticed there were several couples too that came to their School. Well, no wonder, because it was a weekend and of course Valentine day.

Orihime ran through the hallway that leads to another building. She hurried to the stair that leads to the fourth floor. Her auburn hair waved as the result of the small jump that she did for the last few steps.

She took a deep breath when she was on the fourth floor while her eyes examined the entire hall, searching for Ichigo's presence. The condition of this place was not as crowded as the other one. Only few students where here, and they looked busy carrying some stuffs for the festival.

She started running, while paying attention to every corner of the hallway. Then her gaze fell onto a figure standing behind the window, staring at the scenery outside.

"There he is," she mumbled, relieved.

"Kurosaki kun!" She yelled, avoiding the fact that she was nearly out of breath.

Ichigo turned his head. "Oh, Inoue," he looked at her, confused.

"What are you doing here?" she said as she was in front of him.

"I'm just resting." Ichigo shifted his gaze back to the window.

"Well, everyone is looking for you because you suddenly disappeared. Besides the principal's granddaughter can't stop asking about your presence."

Ichigo winced slightly when Orihime mentioned the principal's granddaughter.

She was the reason why he was here. That girl, Amemiya Nana was really like a nightmare. He never imagined the principal's granddaughter would be so aggressive like that. She did not even give him time to relax ever since she visited their class.

"Kurosaki kun, are you alright?" she asked, worried as Ichigo's face changed color to pale.

"I'm alright," Ichigo shook his head, trying to forget the image where Amemiya grabbed his hand and pulled him to sit beside her.

"Just let Keigo handle her." He answered after a moment.

Ichigo stretch out his hand and then started walking through the hallway.

"Huh? Where are you going, Kurosaki kun?"

"I'm going to take some fresh air."

"Eeh? But, what about the festival?"

"Ishida and Tatsuki can handle that. I really need to-"

"So, you're going to take off your duty? How irresponsible!"

Both Ichigo and Orihime turned around as they heard the very familiar voice from behind.

"Kuchiki san!" Orihime yelled in surprise when she saw Rukia standing at the window.

"Rukia?" Ichigo stared at her. His expression mixed between surprise and confusion, because he thought she had already left to Soul Society yesterday.

"Hey," Rukia jumped and landed on the floor. She gave a huge smile towards her friends.

Ichigo took one step closer. "When will you learn to use the door? Had Byakuya never taught you to… Auch! Damn, Rukia! What the hell are you doing?!"

Ichigo rubbed his head that got hit by Rukia.

"I just gave a lesson to your stupidity and because you wanted to run off your duty."

"What? Hey, midget-"

Ichigo's eyebrows furrowed as he muttered. However, Rukia decided to ignore his nonsense protest, and turned to Orihime.

"How's the festival?"

"It's doing well Kuchiki san. We got a lot of guests today. It seemed our café became the most favorite one in this festival and we can…"

Orihime explained with enthusiasm. But she stopped as something crossed her mind. She looked at Rukia, frowning.

"Are you here alone, Kuchiki san?"

A lovely pink blush adorned Rukia's cheek. Shaking her head, she gave Orihime a smile.

"I'm came here with Byakuya, but he's waiting in the school garden."

"So, now it's Byakuya, huh?"

The blush spread rapidly on her face when Ichigo pointed it out, changing her pale face to scarlet.

"Errr… about that…" she tried her best to hide it, but she could not. It was already too late.

Orihime threw a big, meaningful smile to her, while Ichigo just rolled his eyes.

"Did you give him your chocolate, Kuchiki san? Did he love it?"

Rukia nodded shyly. "Yes, I gave him both of the chocolates and he did love it."

A flash of memory passed her mind.

"You made another chocolate?"

Byakuya's voice echoed back in her ears and for a split second her mind drifted into the scene that happened this morning.

"Yes, I made two, the seaweed ambassador and chappy chocolate." She showed him her Chappy-shaped chocolate that was wrapped in the plastic cover.

Both of them had woken up some time ago. Kneeling on the tatami, they were waiting for the breakfast.

"But I'm not sure to whom I will give this Chappy chocolate," she stared at it for a moment before she let out a soft sigh.

"Well, perhaps I'm going to give this to Ichigo, because he helped me to…"

Nonetheless, she could not finish her sentence as Byakuya suddenly took the chocolate from her hand.

"No, I'll keep it." He stated in his infamous passive tone.

Rukia looked at him, confused by his action. "But, I already gave you chocolate last night,"

"And you don't really like sweet things, do you? That's why…"

"So?" Byakuya stared down to her, his eyes unreadable, but from her place, Rukia could feel he was unpleasant about something that she did not know.

"It is not the reason for you to give it to anyone else,"

"Everything about you belongs to me, remember that."

Rukia could feel her face heating up as the last words kept ringing in her mind. Feeling owned by him was actually unbelievable. It sends chills to her whole body.

Though she did not deny she was quite surprised by his possessiveness. She never thought Kuchiki Byakuya could show this kind of emotions.

And he was obviously jealous. She was sure about it.

"Kuchiki san? Hello, Kuchiki san?"

Rukia snapped out of her reverie.

"Are you alright? Your face is so red." Orihime's smile grew wider as she caught Rukia's face turned crimson.

"I-I'm alright, Inoue." Rukia tried to answer. "I just feel a bit hot here." She waved her hand, fanning her face.

"Tch, you know you're really bad at acting, don't you?" Ichigo commented nonchalantly, but he immediately shut his mouth as Rukia gave a death glare towards him.

"Anyways, what the hell is going on with Byakuya? Why did he not come with you here?" he changed the conversation.

Rukia's expression turned flat. "Well, Byakuya said he did not have any desire to see the filthy brat in a servant costume, though it actually fit him." Rukia said tonelessly.

Ichigo clenched both his hands, feeling irritation after hearing Rukia's words. "That bastard! I'm going to knock down his arrogant face so he… Auch!" once again Ichigo could not finish his remarks as Rukia landed another punch on his head.

"Don't call Byakuya bastard," Rukia put her hands on her waist, eyes glaring towards him.

"But, he was! And stop hitting me, midget! Damn, what's wrong with you?"

"What? What did you say? Well, I'm going to give you another punch if you dare to talk bad about him!"

Staring towards each other, they looked ready to fight.

"Ano, Kurosaki kun, Kuchiki san,"

Orihime's voice made them turn around.

"We still have a festival… umm… so…"

"Ah, yes, the festival." Rukia patted her head. All her emotions faded away as she remembered her reason to come here.

"You guys should go back there now."

"Huh? Are you not coming with us, Kuchiki san?"

"Well, actually I came here only for saying my farewell because we're going to go back to Soul Society today."

Rukia looked at Orihime and Ichigo in turn.

"I'm sorry because I can't help you guys," she said apologetically.

Instantly, Orihime shook her head. "No, Kuchiki san. Don't say you're sorry," her eyes softened, "Because you gave us a lot of help,"

Rukia smiled before averting her attention back to Ichigo. No more resentment in her violet eyes. Now it was full of tenderness and gratefulness. "I'm sorry because I could not say it earlier, but it's better late than never."

She set her eyes on his amber ones.

"Thank you so much, Ichigo."

Thank you for all your help… my nakama.

She spoke through gaze.

Ichigo's eyes turned soft as he looked deeply into hers.

Finally, he saw it again. The spirit in her eyes was back.

"You're welcome, Rukia."

"I should go now," Rukia glanced briefly towards the window. "Byakuya is waiting, and I can't leave him alone there."

Rukia smiled at her friends as she said her farewell speech. "I hope we can meet again."

Then, she began to walk to the window.

"Kuchiki san!"

Rukia stopped as she was a few steps behind it. She turned her head to face them.

"We will meet again, soon!" Orihime yelled while Ichigo gave her a nod.

Rukia's smile grew wider. "Alright, see you around," she waved her hand before leaping out of the window.

Ichigo stared at the open window with many thoughts in his head. Still, he was relieved after seeing her joy expression. Well, at least she stopped being stubborn and faced her feeling so…

Wait.

Frowning, Ichigo looked at the window and felt something was not right about it.

"Did… did she just use that window again?"

''

''

To his surprise, the atmosphere in this human garden was quite peaceful. Though there were several people who walked across it, he still could enjoy the sight of the park.

Byakuya leaned his back against the chair. Above, the sun shone brightly, but he did not feel annoyed because there was a huge Sakura tree behind his chair that protected him from its radiation. After a few moments, his eyes traveled from the sky to the School building that stood a few meters from his place.

He watched it intently, as some groups of couple entered the building. The excitement clearly imprinted in their eyes while they were walking.

The festival.

It was what she had talked about as they went to this place. She looked excited when she told him how she participated to prepare the school festival.

"I drew chappy for the banner."

Her voice sound proudly as it echoed back in his head. However, not long afterward, her tone turned a bit sad.

"But, Ichigo said my drawing is awful."

He swore, if it was not because of Rukia who would prevent him, he would definitely hit that little brat. How dare Kurosaki Ichigo, the one who did not possess any sense of art, said something like that. He ever caught one of her drawings and it made him proud because she had a raw talent in her. He thought if she took a proper lesson and kept practicing, she could be at his level.

Byakuya diverted his gaze back to the sky which looked like the blue sea with white cotton clouds as the waves.

"Byakuya,"

Byakuya turned his head as he heard as a soft, familiar voice called his name.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting," her eyes shone and her smile never left her lips as she approached him.

"I'm a bit late because I bought this for you,"

He moved his gaze to her hand that held two cones of ice cream. One had chocolate color and the other was green.

Rukia handed the green ice cream to him. "I remember you said you like the taste of the Matcha ice cream. So, when I found they sell this flavor, I immediately bought it."

"Why did you not tell me if you wanted ice cream? I could buy it for you so you didn't have to purchase your money."

Rukia shook her head. "No, this time please allow me to pay it," she took a seat beside him before shifting her gaze towards him, gazing deep into his.

"Fine," Byakuya finally agrees with her. Once again, he has fallen for those eyes.

"Thank you, Rukia."

"You're welcome, Byakuya." She answered happily.

While they were enjoying their ice cream, Rukia could feel all the attentions of people around the street were on them. Especially from the female students who walked across the garden. They stared at Byakuya intensely before trailing their gaze to her. Rukia could hear giggles out of their mouths as they whispered towards each other. And she knew it was not a good thing.

Feeling disturbed, Rukia moved closer to Byakuya and without thinking, she reached her hand to grab his arm, taking it into her protective embrace. Her eyes glared towards the group until they decided to leave her and Byakuya alone.

"Are you done with them?"

Rukia gasped slightly when she realized what she had done. She looked up and embarrassment immediately took over her as she found Byakuya staring straightly at her. A glimpse of amusement attached on his slate gray eyes, the proof he was watching all her childish side few moments ago.

"I-I'm sorry," she began to release her hand. But, for her surprise, he held her movement by wrapping his hand around her waist.

"Why? You didn't do anything wrong," he said calmly.

A soft blush adorned her cheeks as Byakuya pulled her closer, but she decided to enjoy this proximity and continued to eat her ice cream.

Byakuya kept his gaze on her, scanning every move she made. It perhaps sound odd, but he really like to watch the way she expressed her excitement about something, such as ice cream or for her favorite Chappy plushy. Even the way she showed her jealously made her looked so attractive. It could always send a tingling sensation inside him.

This woman…

How could she become so lively, silly and cute at the same time?

Once Rukia finished her ice cream, she shifted her gaze and could not hide her surprise as she found him staring intensely at her.

"W-what's wrong?" her heart skipped a beat by the way he was looking at her.

"There is chocolate on the corner of your lips."

"A-are you sure?" Rukia's face flushed slightly, feeling stupid, because once again she had showed her unladylike attitude in front of him. She raised her hand to wipe her lips, but Byakuya prevented her.

"Let me,"

Before Rukia could give her permission, Byakuya had already leaned forward, sealing her lips.

It did not need more time for her to sink into his kisses. Her body trembled as she felt his tongue licking the corner of her lips in a very sensual way, making her release a soft moan unwittingly.

As he slipped his velvet tongue into her mouth, she could not take it anymore. She grabbed the front of his shirt to hold herself from the effect of the melting sensation as he tasted hers. She never thought the matcha and chocolate flavor could mix so deliciously like this.

The kiss was very sweet, and delicate, so intense and… so short.

Byakuya reluctantly broke the kiss. "It seemed I found my new favorite flavor." He nip her lower lip gently before leaning his forehead against hers. He took a deep breath to inhale her enticing scent.

Heat started to spread throughout her body. Her hands still clutched the front of his shirt, panting softly. His sudden action really caught her off guard.

"This is… unfair…" she said breathlessly.

"What's unfair?" he cupped her cheeks, lifting her head so their eyes could met.

"It's… it's because… you…"

Damn! Why was she always lost for words every time he was near her. This proximity really killed her sanity.

"Why are you always doing that?" she pointed indirectly at the way he usually stole kisses from her lips.

So sudden, and surprising.

"You don't like it?" He raised an eyebrow suggestively.

Flushing, she could feel his warm breath caressed her lips. "Well… it's not the point because-"

"Be honest, you like it," by the end of those words, he caught her lips for the second time.

No more protest out of her mouth because truth to be told, she indeed liked it as his lips pressed on hers. Their lips moved softly, delicately but no less passionate from the foremost one.

After some moments of intimacy, Byakuya finally released her. "I presume I was right,"

Seeing how scarlet she was, he gave her another a brief kiss before detaching her grip on his shirt and slipped his hand into hers.

"I think it's time for us to go home,"

A warm feeling immediately enveloped her heart as Byakuya mentioned the word 'home'. She intertwined their fingers before looking up and smile.

"Hai, let's go home,"

"Welcome back, Byakuya sama, Rukia sama." Kaito bowed respectfully as Byakuya and Rukia entered the meeting room.

Rukia replied to his greeting before sitting in front of him. Byakuya took a seat right beside her. His body straightened elegantly, hands on his lap, ready to commence the encounter.

Few hours had passed since they returned to Kuchiki manor. The news of their arrival spread quickly. Everyone welcomed their return with joy. Still clearly in her mind, how Ayaka yelled happily when they walked across the bridge.

Kuchiki Manor. Rukia never thought she would miss this place so much. The many kind of feeling started overwhelming her since they arrived in this place. The sweet scent of Sakura filled her nostrils, the smell of home, peaceful silence.

"Alright, I think it's the right time to start our meeting," Kaito cleared his throat, eyes gazing Byakuya and Rukia in turn.

"Before you started it, there is something that I want to clear up."

"Hai, Byakuya sama."

"I want all the miai that you had organized to be canceled." He said straight to the point. He did not want any of those candidates became an obstacle in the future.

"You don't need to worry, Byakuya sama. I had already canceled it all as soon as you ordered me before you went to the Living World."

Yes, he did not wait any longer to cancel all the miai that he had planned. It was not a difficult task, because since the beginning he simply made it as formality without any desire to search candidates for him. It was the only way he could use to prevent Byakuya to do something that he could regret in the future. Besides, he believes, once Byakuya got back to his sense, he would get the right candidate back to them, the only one since the beginning.

"You can breathe a sigh of relief now, Rukia sama. No one of those girls could attract Byakuya sama's attention besides you."

Flushing in place, Rukia almost forgot how Kaito liked to tease her.

"From your words, I assumed we can start to discuss about my future relationship with Rukia." Byakuya stated calmly, showing he was not impressed by his taunting words.

"That's the purpose of this meeting too, Byakuya sama."

"I'm so glad to know you two are finally together," he gave them a meaningful smile.

"However, though you and Rukia sama has shown the improvement between your relationship, still, it doesn't mean you can go easily,"

"What do you mean?" Byakuya's eyes sharpened as he stared at Kaito. His last words made Byakuya stiffened. A feeling of discomfort started to build inside him, but he managed to cover it.

"If we look back, I'm sure Byakuya sama and Rukia sama are still aware of the missions that we have prepared special for you."

Rukia's eyes grew wider. It can't be…

"Do you mean… we still have to do those missions?"

"Yes, you're right, Rukia sama."

Shocking, Rukia lost her words. She never expected this kind of situation will happen. After all these mess finally found their conclusions, the Elders still want them to do the rest of the missions. It made no sense for her. She and Byakuya were together now, so what's the point to complete it?

"We're not going to do that again." Byakuya rejected coldly.

"I'm sorry Byakuya sama, but it's the rule. You and Rukia sama have to finish all the missions before you can take another step in your relationship."

"Did you forget the consequence?"

Kaito took a pause for a minute, giving time for them to comprehend his question.

"If you refuse to do it, Rukia sama will go to the Takama family."

Byakuya clenched his hand, eyes glaring toward Kaito.

"Please calm down, Byakuya sama. I don't mean to offend you." He said calmly.

"None of the missions were bad. All of them gave a better result to your relationship. So, why is so hard to do it once again. It will be your last mission after all."

"The last mission?" Rukia finally opened her mouth. She stared at Kaito, confused. Because she was sure, there were five missions for them. And they only finished it until the third one.

"Yes, Rukia sama."

"But, if I'm not mistaken, there are still two missions left for us. So, how could it turn to the last mission? Is the fourth mission eliminated?"

"Both of you had finished the fourth mission, Rukia sama."

Rukia looked at him, frowning.

Kaito gave her another meaningful smile. "Rukia sama, would you like to see your bracelet and read how many kinds of numerals are in there?" he asked.

Rukia lowered her gaze to her bracelet. She observed the screen and a small gasp came out of her mouth when she saw the number. "Kaito Dono, there are three different numerals here. What does it mean?"

Questions filled her mind because previously there were only two different numerals in it. One to count the number of holding hands, and the other one was to count the number of embrace between them.

"That is the proof you and Byakuya sama has already completed the fourth mission, Rukia sama."

"Huh? But, we never received any mission, so how could we finish it?"

His smile changed into a huge grin. "Well, the fourth mission for you and Byakuya sama was… kiss."

Rukia stared at Kaito blankly.

"K-Kiss?"

"Yes. And the third numeral in your bracelet is the total of the kisses between you and Byakuya sama until now."

Rukia flushed madly after hearing his statement. It was far beyond of her imagination, totally different with all her guesses about the fourth mission that she made a long time ago.

Kiss? Are the Elders really serious? What was in their mind?

"Actually, you only had to kiss three times. But, I'm sure the total number in your bracelet is more than that."

Kaito did not need to wait long to get the answer. A heavy flush on Rukia's face had already given him the answer that he needed. Then, he averted his eyes to Byakuya.

"So, Byakuya sama. What's your answer about that? Do you agree to perform the mission?"

"I hope you don't reject it, my Lord. It's really an important mission for your relationship with Rukia sama."

Byakuya closed his eyes, trying to prevent any kind of emotions that started creeping inside him. The Elders and their never ending obsessions for them. Why he was not too surprise about it.

It's for the last time.

"Continue,"

Kaito's smile became huge. "Well, I'm sure you'll like this final mission,"

Rukia stiffened in place, waiting for the mission that she and Byakuya had to run. It brought back the old memories, how all these kind of situations reminds her of all those tense feelings every time Kaito would announce the mission.

"Alright, the final mission is… Propose."

Focus.

That's what she needs.

Eyes close. Hands on her laps.

Taking a deep breath, she tried to communicate with her inner world.

She felt the warmth of the sunset graced her face while the wind played with her raven hair.

It was the best atmosphere, the perfect one to practice meditation.

However, something blocked her mind, making it difficult for her to concentrate.

Come on, Rukia. What's wrong with you? Just focus!

Yelling to herself, she gritted her teeth in frustration. Because one hour has passed, but she still could not focus her mind.

She really needed it, equanimity for her own sanity. These past few days have been like a nightmare. Well, not in a bad way, even so, she needed to calm her mind from this exhausting condition.

"There you are,"

The warmth left her, replaced by a comfortable coolness.

Rukia opened her eyes and found her best friend standing in front of her, shielding her from the sun. His brown eyes stared down at her and his crimson hair brighter like a flame as an effect of the sunset rays behind him.

"How do you find me?"

Renji rolled his eyes. He kneeled down before her, merely making sure his tall figure could overshadow the sun ray to reach her eyes.

"It's easy, I just needed to ask Kiyone, and she told me you were in the training ground."

Rukia let out a sigh of frustration. She was indeed ordering her to not tell anyone where she was. She needed to be alone after all the chaos condition that happened to her since the Elders announced to the entire Seireitei the marriage plan between her and Byakuya. Yes, the Elders seemed to not wait any longer to declare it. Once she and Byakuya agreed to do the last mission, in only one night, the entire Seireitei had been told. The wedding would be held at the end of the week, which meant tomorrow.

It was still clearly in her mind how few days ago all the female shinigami crossed her room, asking for the truth of the plan. The chaos they made in squad 13 was one of the many reasons why Ukitake taicho gave her one week holiday to prepare the wedding day or in other words to save her from the attack of Byakuya's fangirls.

The wedding…

A feeling of nervousness immediately consumed her. Of course she was excited because finally they could be together, however, she could not hide her nervousness every time that word came to her.

"Hey midget!" Renji poked her head, bringing her attention back.

"Auch! Baka! What are you doing?" Rukia rubbed her head, glaring toward Renji.

"That's my question, midget. Why are you here? You should be in Kuchiki manor, shouldn't you?"

"I just need some fresh air," Rukia shifted her gaze, scanning the sky that started to change its color.

Today was the last schedule to check the bucket of flowers. But, she did not have any desire to attend it, not when Byakuya was not with her. Besides Okuni dono gave her a time to calm her mind before the wedding tomorrow.

Rukia let out another sigh.

It has been five days since he went for the mission. He said he would come back yesterday, but it seemed the mission took more time than they anticipated.

She understood this was a very important mission, and as a taicho he should prioritize his responsibility as part of Gotei 13.

Nonetheless, she did not deny, she… well… she really missed his presence.

"Ah, I see. A stressful bride, huh?"

Rukia put a soft punch on his hand. "I'm not a stressful bride,"

Renji chuckled by her reaction. Then he watched over her eyes, savoring the beautiful sight above them.

"It's still hard to believe you will marry Kuchiki taicho. I thought it was just one of the April fool jokes, but then I realize we're still in February."

Rukia smile at his statement. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier."

"Yes, I was so upset at that time." He travelled his gaze back on Rukia. "How could you hide it from me all this time."

"I'm so-"

Renji stopped her. "Tsk, stop saying you're sorry everytime we meet, midget. I'm okay now. Besides I had a feeling long time ago that something like this was gonna happen."

"It's just a temporary shock, especially after I discovered your magazine." A huge grin appeared on his face.

"I never imagined it, taicho would be the model." He attempted to prevent his laugh.

"What's wrong with that?" Rukia threw a piercing stare towards him.

Nothing was bad about that magazine. It sold out in only three minutes after it released, marking a new record for them. Even Byakuya seemed pleased with the result.

Well… that's what she caught as she tried to read his expression when they spent their late afternoon time on the garden, under the Sakura tree, after Kaito gave them the last mission. She took the magazine with her and showed it to him. Though he did not say any words, the fact he did not destroy the magazine was a good sign, was it not?

"Nothing, it's just…" Holding his laugh, Renji's face turned red, his eyes filled with tears.

"It's just… I couldn't imagine, with a such a boring expression like that he… he was… HAHAHA…"

Rukia clenched her fist, ready to punch her stupid friend.

How dare he!

"Do you have a problem with my expression, Abarai?"

Renji stopped laughing, his face turned pale. Slowly, he turned his head.

"T-Taicho,"

"Byakuya!"

They said, almost in unison. However, contrary to Renji, who seemed like someone who was already losing his soul, Rukia could not hide her excitement as she found Byakuya standing before them.

She immediately stood up, followed by Renji. "You're back!" she rushed to him and stopped after few steps. A lovely flush adorned her cheeks, while her eyes glittered with happiness as she looked at his presence.

"Uh, oh, taicho." Renji looked awkward in place. He could see the nightmare that he would get in any minute because of his late action.

"You still don't answer my question, Abarai." His voice sound calm, but Renji could feel the deadly tone in it.

Renji gulped, "W-well, of course I don't have a problem, taicho!" a few drops of sweat dripping on his forehead.

"You… You have a perfect face to become a model! I couldn't imagine anyone but you as the model of the magazine!"

Rukia rolled her eyes after hearing his answer. She knew what he would say before and it really made her want to impinge that stupid head. But, knowing Byakuya's habit, she felt a bit sorry for him.

Byakuya stared coldly toward him, making Renji turned even paler in place.

It was only a minute, but it felt like a thousand years for him.

"You may go, Abarai." Byakuya dismissed him.

Flabbergasted, Renji could not say anything as the effect of his unexpected 'kind' words. However, he immediately bowed, before Byakuya changed his mind.

"Hai, taicho."

The feeling of relief crept inside him. It's rare to find his taicho and let him go without any additional task that he should do for entire weekend.

"See you tomorrow, Rukia." Renji said before doing shunpo leaving them alone.

Byakuya turned his attention back to Rukia. His gaze softened as he saw her face. Five days have been taken place, and his yearning was unbearable. And when he saw the glimpse of the same feeling knitted in her eyes, he was immediately enveloped with the urge to take her into his arms. However, he managed to control himself.

"We have to go," he said while motioning to her to follow him.

"When did you come back?" she asked enthusiastically as she followed him out of the training ground.

"A few minutes ago, and just to find you weren't at home."

Rukia bit her lower lip. The feeling of guilt arose in her. "I'm sorry, I just…"

"It's alright," he cut her apology. He took her hand and held it gently. He was not angry with her. He understood these past few days were really hard for her, especially as he could not be at her side in this important time. So, it was reasonable if she needed space. He was just quite surprise that she was not home when he was back. But, it seemed she got a wrong impression.

They continued their journey in silence. In the west, a hazy orange horizon pleased their view. Walking side by side, they enjoyed the tranquility that surrounded them, with only the wind sound as their unseen companion.

It was nearly dark as they entered Kuchiki manor. But, the light of the lantern lessens it. It illuminated the entire manor with their yellowish glow.

As they were in the middle of the bridge, Byakuya suddenly stopped and turned to face her.

"Are you nervous about tomorrow?" his eyes gazed her deeply, scanning every feeling that reflected in those glazing violet pools.

He knew it's such a stupid question, but he could feel it clearly, how nervous she was by only holding her hand.

Rukia stunned. She looked back at him, surprise by his sudden statement. It took a brief moment before she shook her head.

"I was, but now I'm not."

She lifted their entangled hand, holding it with her other one before placing it against her chest.

"Because you're here now, I believe everything is going to be alright."

No doubt in her eyes. And as he read it, it was enough to wash all those bothersome thoughts away, and to pull her small, delicate frame into his arms.

Rukia moved closer, feeling his warm body enveloped her. "I'm happy you're home." She whispered against his chest before taking a deep breath, breathing in his scent.

If only you knew how much I missed your presence.

Byakuya released his embrace. Cupping her soft cheeks with both of his palms, he brought her face closer to his. As he would lean forward to lock her lips, a soft cough brought them back to reality.

They turned around and found Okuni was standing on the edge of the bridge. Few steps behind her, stand Ayaka. A smile never left her lips as she saw her both masters.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you Byakuya sama, Rukia sama but I have to separate you now until the wedding day tomorrow."

Byakuya gave her a single nod before averting his gaze back to Rukia.

"Take a proper rest tonight," he placed the softest kiss on her forehead.

Rukia closed her eyes, savoring the remnants of his warm lips before looking up.

"I hope the same for you,"

Then she followed Okuni to her room.

As she near the porch, Rukia turned back slightly, searching for his figure for the last time.

There he was, still standing in the middle of the bridge, watching her.

Their eyes settled. His gray caught her violet ones, trying to send a silent message for her.

I'm here, so don't worry. We will meet again tomorrow.

Today was his day.

He woke up as a rosy orange colored illicit sky. It was still cold outside, but he knew, once the sun comes up, it will be a sunny and warm day.

Along the right side of the bed, by using the traditional kimono rack, his montsuki hung in a pretentious manner. From the distance, the fabric might look plain. However, it was made of an elaborate and complicated weave with a pattern that was concealed depending on how it catches the light.

The garment was hung over the top pole of kimono rack. With this rack, his kimono allowed to drape exquisitely on the floor, ready to be worn by his master to greet the day.

'

'

Today was her day.

She woke up when the first fuzzy orange color split on the edge of the horizon. It was still dark outside, but she knew once the sun fully rises, it will be a bright, beautiful day.

Right behind her futon, a luxurious shiromuku hung faultlessly, the most idyllic thing outside of heaven. It was made from a heavy figured rinzu satin. The silk elaborately embroidered with cherry blossom branches and a white crane in the middle of the back of the garment.

It was hung over the top pole of kimono rack. With this rack, her kimono allowed to hang stately on the floor, ready to be worn by her master to welcome the day.

'

'

This is his story.

And everything about him was perfect.

His montsuki looked impeccable in his body. It was comprised of a black kimono, plus of course the obligatory white under-kimono, gray and white striped hakama and topped with a black haori that fastens over the abdomen with a white pom-pom decoration.

His long jet black hair, which usually was only decorated by hairclips on the back of his head, was now replacing by kenseikan. That symbolize his nobility as the head of Kuchiki clan.

He stood elegantly in the middle of the room, waiting. And as he heard a knock on the front door, he knew it was the time.

Soon, he will meet her.

'

'

This is her story.

And everything about her was perfect.

Her shiromuku enveloped her body flawlessly. It was an all white, including her inner kimono, obi sash and obi cord. The two tassels on the collar of the kimono were attached to a narrow box tucked into the folds of the kimono neckline. This was a symbolic reminder of the daggers once carried by ladies of the samurai class. On the other side, also tucked into the neckline, was a small wallet for papers and precious things.

Her raven hair was decorated with lacquered combs and delicate metal kanzashi hair ornaments that tremble and sway prettily when the bride moves. Her elaborate hairstyle covered at the front by a white ceremonial headband called tsunokakushi. And then, to complete her performance, an oversize white hood called wataboshi covered her entire head.

She stood gracefully in the middle of the room, waiting. And as she heard a knock on the front door, she knew it was the time.

Soon, she will meet him.

'

'

Today was their day.

The beginning of our story…

'

'

Gazing towards the front of wooden door of the shrine, Rukia took a deep breath.

If she could describe her feeling, it felt like getting hit by a tidal wave. Nervousness mixed with excitement. Because she knew, he was there, inside the shrine, waiting for her.

In one minute, the door will open.

In one minute, she will meet him.

Byakuya…

'

'

Standing in front of the altar, Byakuya took a brief glance towards the door.

She was there, he could feel it. Behind the close door, he knew she was waiting.

In one minute, the door will open.

In one minute, he will meet her.

Rukia…

'

'

Rukia walked slowly as she entered the shrine. She could feel everyone eyes on her when the door finally slid open, revealing her presence for the first time to the entire guests in the room.

However, her focus was not on them, but on the man who caught her attention, ever since she took the first step inside.

There, in front of the altar, was standing the most handsome man she ever met. He looked so gorgeous in his montsuki. It wrapped his body perfectly. She also noticed he was wearing his kenseikan with few strands of his silky black hair hung freely between his eyes. It looked contrast with the color of his pale skin, but not in the bad way, instead, on the contrary it only made him looked more incredibly attractive. His slate gray eyes stare deeply into hers, making her heart skipped a beat.

She could not stop the overwhelming feeling as she looked at him. She almost thought if all of these were only part of a dream.

However, as she was in front of him and took the hand that he offered to her, she realized it was all tangible.

''

''

Byakuya could hear the murmur of admiration from the entire shrine as the bride took her first step. Shifting his gaze, he almost held his breath as the prettiest woman he ever seen entered the room.

She was stunning, like a goddess in her shiromuku. He could not take his eyes off her as she walked, in a very graceful manner. Even though her head was almost hidden behind the wataboshi, he could see how beautiful she was. A soft flush adorned her pale skin as their eyes met.

By looking into her violet ones, he could feel she was nervous though she tried to hide it. So, he reached his hand as she was in front of him, offering his protection. A warm sensation crept inside him as her rosy pink lips gave him a very shy, delicate smile. And when their fingers entangled he knew this moment would stay forever in his heart.

''

''

The ceremony ran solemnly and sacred. Both Byakuya and Rukia listened earnestly as the priest read out the formula to announce their marriage to the shrine altar, and seek the blessing and protection of the Kami to them.

While listening to the priest Byakuya kept his hand on hers, and held it gently. He could feel she more relaxed now. He understood how nervous she was in this ceremony. And by holding her hand, he wanted to reassure her that he was here, and there's nothing to worry about.

Rukia took a brief glance toward Byakuya as she felt he tightened his grip. His focus was on the priest, and the way he stood elegantly beside her sometimes made him looked unreachable. Nonetheless, as she felt the warmth of his hand all those no sense feeling immediately vanished. She was not alone because he was with her.

Rukia's eyes back to focus to the ceremony. As a Shinto maiden finished her sacred dance; from what Okuni told her when she gave a short course about the Shinto wedding, it was the time for them to perform the 'San-San-Kudo' ritual or the exchanging of the cups of sake, the most important part of a Shinto wedding.

She watched intently when the maiden offered Byakuya the first of three cups that stacked neatly on a wooden stand near them. And then, the shrine maiden delicately pours sake into the cup.

Carefully, Byakuya took three small sips signifying 'san-san-kudo' or the deepening of the relationship to form a stronger connection between the wedding couple. After he finished, Byakuya returned it to the maiden.

Rukia reached her hand to receive the same cup.

She waited until the maiden filled it again with the sake. Slowly, Rukia brought the cup to her lips, following Byakuya's way, step by step, delicately.

She could feel the warm started to spread throughout her whole body after she took the third sip where she had to drink it for real since for the other two cups she had just pretend. It had a sweet aroma, very smooth, and slightly dry.

They continued the ritual with the second and the third cup. Both of them performed the ceremony heartily, pervading every meaning of this sacred tradition.

Rukia took another brief glance at him after they finished the ritual, and it widened slightly as she caught his gaze on her. Gray met violet. And as they drowned into each other pools, they understand it, by exchanging the nuptial sake sips, as husband and wife, they are union.

After each guest in the shrine also drank a bit of sake, the bridal approached the altar and Byakuya started to read out the vow letter. Rukia could not hide her admiration as his husky voice began to read. His deep tone sent a pleasurable feeling inside her, wiping away the remnant of her nervous feeling and fear as she listened to his vows.

Byakuya read the vows earnestly. It was a promise that he made for Rukia, his wife. The promise that he would keep along his life.

When the vow between them has engraved, the shrine maiden gave the sakaki branch to the couple. They pray silently by holding the sakaki branch before placing it at the altar. Then the bridal bows twice and claps twice.

Rukia averted her gaze back to the maiden who walked towards them. She brought a small wooden box and opened it as she was in front of them. There were two wedding rings in it.

Byakuya took a ring, and carefully placed it on her finger.

Rukia followed him. She took the ring, and shyly put it on his.

Their eyes met, and the happiness clearly attached in them as they finally finish the ceremony.

The feeling was unbearable because now they're officially husband and wife.

Byakuya offered his hand, and she gladly took it. And slowly, they left the shrine, followed by the guests to continue the celebration in Kuchiki Manor.

''

''

''

''

''

It felt like déjà vu as she sat on his bed, waiting for his arrival.

The memory was still fresh in her mind. The first time she was waiting for him in this room, it was all because of the mission, the second one where they had to share their bed together.

'W-we can pretend Chappy as the third person. So there are not only both of us on this bed, but also Chappy, so Nii-sama does not betray...'

A smile graced her lips as she recalled all those awkward 'bed scene' moments between them.

At that time, a lot of feelings were mixed in her, especially about her place in this room. Previously, the thought about everything in his room, including the owner belonged to her Nee-sama was burdening her, mainly because she had to run the mission and maintained herself to not cross the line.

And though she had already confessed her feelings to her sister before she went to Living world, still, she felt something was not right. However, after she and Byakuya visited Hisana's shrine together, to ask her permission, those feelings little by little began to subside.

Nee-sama… Thank you so much for your permission… I'll always be by his side, and love him from deep inside of my heart…

Rukia took a deep breath. She felt more relax now, especially after she and Byakuya has finished the wedding ceremony. Though she was incredibly nervous at that time, she could not deny she was amazed by how the ceremony worked. The solemnly that enveloped the ritual still stayed in her, even when she closed her eyes, she could hear Byakuya's voice as he read the vows.

Rukia immediately stood up as she heard the door open. Her heart started pounding rapidly when Byakuya entered the room.

"Byakuya," she greeted, smiling brightly at him.

Though she felt a bit nervous, the excitement kept growing in her when he moved towards her.

"Have all the guests gone home?" another pink blush appeared on her cheeks as he stood in front of her.

Byakuya gave her a brief nod before shifting his eyes to the bed behind her. He frowned slightly as he found something strange on it.

"Why is that thing here?"

Rukia turned around, following his gaze until it fell on Chappy's figure that sat innocently on their bed.

"Oh…" her blush became deeper as she tried to explain. "I asked Ayaka to bring it here because…" Rukia stopped when she saw Byakuya approached the bed to take Chappy.

"Huh?" her eyes kept following Byakuya, who was moving while bringing Chappy to the closet.

"What are you doing?" she could not hide her surprise when Byakuya put her Chappy plushy in it and close the door tightly.

"I just put your Chappy to the place it should be." Byakuya answered calmly while walking back to her.

"Do you hate Chappy?" she asked wistfully.

Byakuya stopped, looking deeply into her eyes. "No, I don't," he reached his hand, and took a few strand of her raven hair before trailing his finger until it reached the back of her neck. Ever since he put his eyes on her when she entered the shrine, he has to fight with himself to not let his desire control him along the ceremony. However, he did not have to fight again because finally the time has came.

Rukia felt silent. Her eyes widened, and could only stay stunned in place. She held her breath as his delicate fingers caressed her neck before pulling her closer to him. The sadness in her violet eyes immediately faded and was replaced with another desire due to the look he gave her.

His startling gray eyes, his intense stare, his alluring scent, his lips that were only a few centimeters away from her, and his presence.

"But at this time, I need privacy with my wife,"

At the end of those words, he caught her lips, bringing her to enter the heavenly door of a long and unforgettable night.

"I love this one! Takizawa san really knew how to catch the best angle, so the pict-"

Rukia stopped and looked up from the magazine on her lap to Byakuya who sat beside her. Her eyes grew huge as she found he was staring at her intensely.

"W-what happened?" she asked nervously.

It was late in the afternoon as they decided to enjoy the sunset under the Sakura tree on his garden. In the west, the sun almost drowned, leaving the traced reddish orange line on the edge of the sky.

"There is something that I want to ask,"

Byakuya reached his hand to take a petal on her head. He lingered his fingers for a brief moment, to feel the softness of her raven hair, before trailing delicately to hold her owns.

"And you have to be honest when you give me the answer."

She held her breath. Her eyes never left his, which was glowing mysteriously as the dim of the sun light touched his silvery eyes. Few petals of Sakura fell slowly, creating a beautiful pink drizzle.

His presence and the Sakura.

Nothing could compare the picturesque scenery before her.

Time moved slowly as he took a silent pause. In this tranquility, she could hear her own heartbeat, moving in a swift rhythm, a sign of her nervousness. However, as she attempted to focus only on his eyes, it slowed down, and she did not feel anything else but a comfortable peacefulness while waiting him to ask his question.

And finally, with his husky, deep voice; which sounds like a calm river, broke the stillness between them. Her violet eyes glazed and many kinds of emotions were overwhelming inside her as she heard his remarks.

The most beautiful words that felt almost unreal.

Nevertheless, as she sensed the warmness of his lips on hers, she knew it was real.

Sakura Blossoms in Their Heart

~fin~

Glossary:
- Montsuki:
A formal kimono with family crests. It's worn by men on formal parties or ceremonies, like marriage ceremonies of family or relative.

- Shiromuku: A huge, heavy robe that is sometimes described as a white uchikake by some sellers. Shiromuku is a kimono for wedding. "Shiro" means "white" in Japanese, and it is a symbol of purity. People usually wear shiromuku when they have a wedding at shrine.

- Kanzashi: Hair ornaments used in traditional Japanese hairstyles.

- Tsunokakushi: A rectangular piece of cloth, which covers the bridal high topknot. This is traditionally worn to veil the bride's horns of jealousy, ego and selfishness. It also symbolized the bride's resolve to become a gentle and obedient wife.

- Wataboshi: The bridal kimono hood. Originally worn outdoors to keep away dust and prevent from the cold, the wataboshi now is worn as the equivalent of the bridal veil in Western tradition. Wearing the wataboshi hides the bride's face from all others except for the groom until the end of the wedding ceremony.

A/N:

Finally, I can finish this story T^T
I hope it was not sending a heart attack to all of you :))
Yes, this is the end of 'Sakura Blossoms in Their Hearts', I knew, perhaps some of you will disappointed about the ending, but, it was decided long time ago, when they finished the missions and resolved their problems, that was the time for me to end this story. However, I really appreciated when I read some reviews that want this fanfic to continue, even send a lot of ideas for me, I'm really grateful when I received that, it was really an honor for me to know this couple received so much love :)) ByaRuki FTW! xD
Thank you so much *bow*

Well, I'm not going to say farewell now, because there is still epilogue that I prepared for you all, so lets talk about the chapter itself xD
Fiuh, I'm deeply sorry because it was really a long chapter, but because it's the last one, so I'm not divided it like my previous ones, I wish you don't mind :3

And finally, you know all those missions xD
The fourth was kiss, and the last was propose, the Elders really knew what the couple need xDDD
About the wedding, it was my first time to write this kind of scene too, especially about a Shinto wedding. So all the credit went to all video in youtube and the articles in google that help me to make that scene. However, if you think something was not right, feel free to tell me, I'll fix it :))

About their first night, well, I want to say my apologize again because no 'M' scene included. Perhaps you waiting about that scene too, but because I don't find it fit for this chapter, so I skip it, I hope you don't mind either :))). Besides, like Byakuya said, he need more privacy with his wife :3

Yups! That's my last words for this A/N. However, before I close it, I really want to say my biggest thanks to all the readers who read this story, even made it your favorite and followed this story until now.
